The 12 Best Restaurants & Bars At Green Lake

"Like utility knives or OxiClean, casual sushi restaurants are extremely useful. Tsui Sushi Bar is a chill spot with a samurai mural and a u-shaped bar where you can drink sake and eat some raw fish. The special rolls are fun and all, but an acceptable way to have dinner here is to order the seared salmon belly nigiri on repeat until you’re full." - aimee rizzo

This is way overdue, we’ve been coming to Tsui since they opened. Before Covid when we were eating in-house, to making sure they made it through Covid. It’s always been our go to sushi place. They are amazing and always have been. I highly recommend eating in-house, but if you need good sushi to go order ahead and drop by grab your food and enjoy. We will miss them when we are gone.

Google
The sushi and appetizers were great. I would not recommend eating inside this restaurant at this time. They prioritize their to-go items over patrons inside. If you do order and eat inside the restaurant, order appetizers from the kitchen. The kitchen was able to get the our food out in about 15 minutes while the sushi bar took an 1 hour and 30 minutes. The food was great and I understand everyone is trying to make things work. But it would take a really long time to get drinks and water. Good food and I’d try coming back to eat inside when they’ve made changes.

Updating my original review to reflect that this place continues to be 5 stars on all levels, every single time we come here. Even when they are slammed (as they should be, hooray) service is always friendly and if there's a tiny bit of a wait with the food they let us know and it's worth every millisecond of wait. Flavors and quality are heavenly.

This is a cute little neighborhood sushi place that we have frequented over the years. They have a lot of creative rolls that are not crazy expensive. When they are busy on the weekends with takeout, the waits can be long, but we recently caught them on a weeknight and the service was lovely. On our last visit, anything that was tempura fried had a bit of an overpowering oil taste that didn’t sit well with me. Net-net, not a destination restaurant but a great local option for takeout or dine in if it’s quiet.

The sushi is good, especially for the price. Not perfect, but everything generally tasted good and was plated exceptionally well. We had some critiques of the food. The seared salmon had a bit too much sauce and the golden lobster rolls too little. The tamago didn't taste fresh. The chicken karaage comes in popcorn size, which is great for the bar setting. The staff is very friendly here. They even pre-split our checks, which was a very nice touch. Unfortunately, they seem a bit understaffed.

Google
This adorable neighborhood sushi restaurant has the capacity to meet all your sushi needs at an affordable price. Almost immediately, it was impossible to ignore the lovely seating arrangement. One can easily sit at the bar, by a window, or in the back to limit disruption. The mood in the room was always calm; I especially appreciated the serenity. Now for the fish, the salmon chirashi bowl is filled to the brim with salmon and was a delight to marvel at. Secondly, the sake nigiri platter is worth the advertised $39. The plate ranged from eel, salmon, tuna, egg, scallop, yellowtail, and other delectable treats. Parking can be a bit of a hassle, but pay it no mind because you're bound to have an excellent meal! Oh, and the service was very kind and prompt.

Google
People who complain about the wait, don’t have the palate for excellent quality sushi- that is made with care. Honestly- is my fav sushi spot in Seattle! It’s worth waiting for- the American rush for service is LAME! The seared salmon nigiri is melt in your mouth amazing!

Google
Busy spot on a Friday night. Scored hard to find, free, neighborhood street parking. Enjoyed our selection of rolls, garlic green beans and agedashi tofu. Super busy wait staff who got us everything we ordered with minimal pleasantries. We saw in the reviews the special vegetarian roll with sweet potato and avocado on the menu and it did not disappoint. They had a selection of other menu options suitable for our vegetarian dinner too. Seems like they had a steady stream of to-go orders which contributed to the fast-paced atmosphere.

Yelp
My gf and I were at the Woodland zoo nearby, and was hungry for sushi. We stumbled upon Tsui Sushi bar and boy was it a find... Let's get the negatives out of the way first... 1) the wait for food was a bit long, but to us it was ok, gave us time to refresh our palette between fish 2) a tad bit too much rice (this is personal preference, totally objective) But goodness gracious the fish and flavors of everything else was bloody fantastic. When we first entered the restaurant, it was empty...which is due to the fact that he's now open for lunch. We were greeted by Joe, the owner...super nice and down to earth guy. He explained the menu thoroughly, asked if we needed anything additional. When it came time to eat, each and every single piece of fish and sushi was delicious. Fish was super fresh, great quality, no mushy or ugly pieces anywhere. Some pieces were even melt in your mouth goodness Overall, excellent little restaurant...highly recommend to anyone looking for a good bite of sushi...just make sure you allocate enough time. Joe, very well done...looking forward to eat at your restaurant again

Yelp
We got take out from this place! It did take 40 minutes when we ordered asap, so I can't speak for in dining experience and wait. We got miso soup, bad boy tempura, and salmon sushi. Overall yes yes. I really enjoyed the miso soup to start the meal. The bad boy tempura was yummy. I am not the biggest avocado fan in sushi, especially if it's fried, but that's my own preference. My partner loved the bad boy. The salmon was simple but I could actually eat 4 dishes of that thing and be satiated. Overall, good sushi place with staples that are yummy. I will say price point, I am not sure because we got it on UBER and sometimes they change the prices. But food and wait time, I give it a 4/5. 40 min wait is a bit long and I am curious how long it would take to dine in.

Yelp
The food is good and reasonably priced which is why we come back. But the takeout timeliness and customer service is abysmal. They routinely mark orders done but when you show up they are not. Rather than be apologetic, they refuse to offer any update on when it may be ready. When I asked why they do this all the time the hostess blames the computers and says it's done automatically. EDIT: Owner reached out to explain and apologize, which I appreciated. To be clear, it's not about having to wait or the food taking longer than expected. I understand and am fine with waiting longer, especially on a busy night. It's being told the food is ready to be picked up, showing up and not having any idea how long it will be until it's actually ready. They need to figure this out with Grunhub.

Yelp
I love this place. My husband and I have been going for 8 or 9 years. Since my son has been born, almost 6 years ago, they know he loves extra tofu in his miso and even gave me a thing of sake when they saw my name for Mother's Day takeout. Sweetest people and really great sushi!

Yelp
So I've been driving past this place for a few weeks now on my way home from work. I was always curious what it was, so I decided to Google it and it turns out to be sushi. Anyways I got really excited and pre-order dinner for pick up on my way home from work. Place is pretty spacious and online ordering makes it sooo easy. I got Otoro, chutoro, seared salmon belly, and salmon belly nigiri with a So good roll. I was probably better off sitting here and eating versus sitting in traffic haha. The food was still good by the time I got home. I really enjoyed the otoro, the buttery-iest cut ever. I would have preferred the seared salmon belly without so much sauce because it was a bit much. When I was waiting there for my food, the nice man working offered me a miso soup and that was very kind of him. I'll definitely be ordering more from here since it's so convenient for me.

Yelp
I got the bad boy roll and salmon skin roll here as I made use of the Uber Eats buy 1 get 1 free + 40% off discount, which ended up to just be 30% cheaper because delivery apps just have a lot of fees and mark up the food by 50%+. It was fine because this place is quite far from the city and I wouldn't have been able to try it conveniently otherwise. The bad boy roll is fairly heavy and just okay, comes with 5 pieces per order. The fried batter still felt a little bit powdery so they might have needed to mix it better or leave it in the fryer a bit longer. Otherwise, the ingredients like the crab and eel were fresh and meshes well with the rest of the roll. The salmon skin roll was also a bit oily and salty, but otherwise fairly solid. This one also comes with 5 pieces per order. They do give a lot of salmon skin, and that is the main ingredient which checks out. Depending on the rolls, I'd say 2 orders total is more than enough for a meal, especially for this case because they were fairly heavy and oily. If I had car access, this would be a nice affordable sushi spot, as the regular menu prices most of the rolls at less than $10. In this case, $8.50 per order ordering directly, while the delivery app charges $12-14 per order for their regular prices.

Yelp
Such delicious food!! Some of the best sushi I've ever had and super great service too. I'd recommend the yellowtail usu and salmon belly nigiri.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The prices are better than grocery store sushi and the quality and taste do not compare. Service is always friendly. My standing order: Seattle roll, spicy tuna roll, and a bronze set. This order is sure to make you do a happy dance!

Yelp
On our first night in Seattle we were so tired after the flight that we found somewhere close by to eat. We love sushi so we decided to find a sushi place to try to see how it is in Seattle. I love how the place looked, very relaxing. Upon arriving, we were seated immediately. We each ordered a drink and some rolls to share. The staff were all kind to us and came by often to check on us. I don't remember which rolls we ordered, but I know we did try the real crab meat CA roll, which for us we didn't enjoy. The rolls weren't bad, but it's not what we would like. If we were to come back, we may pick other rolls to try and see if this restaurant is what we would consider coming back for again. Overall it was a great experience, it's just the taste of the sushi rolls isn't for us, or maybe it's just the ones we had picked.

Yelp
This is my favorite place to get sushi in North Seattle. The rolls are excellent and the staff is very friendly. The only downside is the parking but I don't think you can pin that on the business. Definitely a place I recommend to friends.

Yelp
Been my favorite spot for a few years now! Everything always tastes so good & fresh! My favorite things are the So Good roll & seared salmon nigiri. Michelle & Zoey always serve with a smile.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this random little sushi joint for dinner and we were so glad we did! It's a quaint little spot in a local neighborhood. Street parking only. There were only 2 servers and 1 bus boy working and boy were they running the show. Here's what we ordered: -chicken kaarage - very delicious and seasoned perfectly -garlic green beans - garlicky and yummy -salmon belly - a little too fatty for us -house salad - yay greens - the dressing was delicious -torched salmon nigiri - it was okay, kids always love torched salmon -hamachi kama - a little burnt -curry fish balls - surprisingly good! my daughter loves curry fish balls so she enjoyed this. its Japanese curry with fish balls and veggies. -spicy Seattle roll - salmon, avocado, cucumber, spicy mayo , basic -spider roll - soft shell crab, avocado, cucumber, eel sauce, basic -salmon skin roll - I've never seen actual pieces of salmon inside a salmon skin roll before and I really liked that they had fish with the skin instead of just skin. not sure if it's changed since then, but ask the server to clarify! Overall, we would probably return especially for the kaarage and garlic green beans! Give it a try if you're in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Great sushi and yummy drinks. Very nice server, good place for date night or place for conversation.

Yelp
Great food, service, and ambiance. For appetizers we got the vegetable tempura, miso soup, and shishito peppers. All three were delicious, and the best we've had locally in a while. For rolls we got the Firecracker and So Good Roll. The Firecracker was our favorite. Fresh, solid flavor combinations, and a good size. All in all, a it was a sizeable delicious meal at a very affordable price, which is hard to find in Seattle these days. We will be back for sure!

Yelp
Placed an order online for pick up and it was alright. The sushi wasn't bad but I didn't enjoy it as much as other sushi spots in Seattle. I ordered the bad boy roll and green lake roll. Maybe other rolls taste better.
google avatar

Jaki Y.

Yelp
Yummy neighborhood sushi spot! This place gets quite busy for dinner, so I always do take out (but expect at least a 30 min wait after placing your order). I love their spicy tuna roll and spicy yellowtail roll - they don't skimp on the fish and pack in avocado and cucumber.
google avatar

Yelp
We've been here several times, and every time it wows us. Everything Ive ordered I would order again. The seaweed salad to start is so light and refreshing. The Seattle Crunch roll and seared salmon nigiri are incredible. The firecracker roll is true to its name, but not so hot that it will ruin your night. I can't say enough good thing about this place.
google avatar

Yelp
I went into this with low expectations because i've never had food from here and stepped outside of my 2 normal places. I shouldn't have done that. First the place charges top dollar, so you should get top quality and quantity with how much competition there is around seattle. The fish in the Chirashi bowl tasted like it was previously frozen, it was tasteless. That's what a freezer does to fish. Second, the portion size is so small. Its half the size of the Chirashi bowl from Musashis and half as tasty too. Do yourself a favor and don't overpay for below average fish, it's not worth it. I wanted to love these guys but dang they really let me down. The left pic is Tsui and the right is musashis, same price and both in north seattle.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been craving sushi and as I was in the green lake area, I thought I'd try out Tsui Sushi Bar. I ordered Chirashi Bowl, Seared Salmon Belly, Spicy Seattle Roll, Mango Samurai Roll, & Takoyaki - all to go (had a picnic at green lake with my partner). You can tell the difference between quality seafood by its look and taste. Unfortunately, Tsui was very very disappointing. I've never had a chirashi bowl with packaged crab sticks, bean curd & tamagoyaki. It was also served with seaweed salad and a piece of lime. I was so confused. The flavors don't actually work well at all. I couldn't tell if it wanted to be a wanna be chirashi bowl or a wanna be poke bowl? The fish cuts were also disappointing - not fresh at all. The spicy Seattle roll & mango samurai roll were both disappointing. It lacked flavor. The Seattle roll was not spicy at all and the color on the tuna was scary for me to even want to try it. The tuna is supposed to bright and it was almost muted in color instead. It was only a 5 min difference to when we picked it up to green lake. I wonder if they made the rolls and then left on the counter?! Perhaps the saving grace of this entire meal was the seared salmon belly and the takoyaki. The takoyaki was edible and there was nothing special with them. The salmon belly was delicious! I'm sad they charged $6+ for 2. The pieces are smaller and of lower quality then all my other sushi joints I've eaten at so I was surprised they charged so much for it. Overall, I definitely wouldn't be back. This was a $80+ meal & I was extremely disappointed. I rather spend that money elsewhere.

Yelp
We had the same horrible experience as another reviewer (see screenshot of their review)...TWICE. Ordered for pickup and they keep telling you weird updates like "15-20 more minutes" and then "we haven't started it yet" the "it's almost all ready" and then "order wasn't confirmed in uber eats (we ordered on Postmates" and through it all they are rude. Get it together, Tsui. Seriously.
google avatar

Nicole Y.

Yelp
The food was fantastic but the kitchen was slowwwwwwwww and super disorganized. It seemed like They prioritized delivery orders over diners and it was really disappointing. We ordered, three rolls a takoyaki and goyoza and they brought us two rolls. After we finished those rolls, we still had to wait another HOUR for our last roll and it wasn't even a cooked roll. We asked multiple times and when I finally got up and asked again i was told it took 45 min for that roll. No way possible considering our other two rolls were baked rolls and they came out in 5-10 min. I also wouldn't recommend the takoyaki. But for the sushi and the prices this place was excellent!! Had those two not been so awesome, I would've given this place a 2 star for the service. We shouldn't have been here for over two hours trying to keep a baby happy in an otherwise completely empty restaurant, except the long line of delivery orders. In-house diners should be prioritized. I'd def come back for the good sushi and prices and hopefully I'll have better service next time.

Yelp
THE BEST. I love the Ocean Roll! Have basically tried everything on the menu at this point, down the the saki and edamame, and been mostly satisfied with it all. In-dining restaurant also has a cute, fun, neighborhood vibe.

Joe S.

Yelp
I have ordered from here several times for pickup or delivery and it has always been good. I recently visited the restaurant in person for my birthday and was extremely satisfied. We got seated right away in the window and started off with some great cocktails -- tasted great, great price. The takoyaki was surprisingly good. We got several different complex rolls and I was impressed by the artistry that went into making them. However, what really impressed me were the simpler rolls: the cucumber roll, the avocado roll, and the yellowtail roll. The avocado was perfectly ripe and the yellowtail (which normally I can take it or leave it) was super tasty: rich and buttery. Both were simple, yet full of flavour. The quality of the ingredients really shone through. I feel fortunate to live in the same neighbourhood as Tsui Sushi Bar and will be making them my go-to spot for sushi. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Had a really nice time here!! Spicy Seattle Row is amazing! Salmon Skin Row is also great! The calamari salad is an ingenious idea, I love spicy chili sauce on seafood and it paired very well with the calamari! Don't get the crab stick. It is only imitation crab on rice. Not worth 5$ Great service, really nice people. Loved sitting at the bar area (it's quick access to the waiters).
google avatar

Emalee H.

Yelp
Wow that took freaking forever!!! Be prepared to watch the to go orders pile up while you sit and wait your turn at a table/bar top. Edamame took 40mins to come out, after our sushi that took also forever... I guess screw an appetizer here. Also they give very little wasabi and never come back to ask if you good... food was good but not worth the wait.
google avatar

Juju D.

Yelp
We ordered chirashi, gyoza, spider roll and oshinko roll. The chirashi was okay, yellowtail was good, for some reason there was only 1 piece of salmon usually you get 2 pieces at other places, same with the ahi. Then there is the fake crab meat, which to me is the cheapest thing you can put in a chirashi. I would rather the bowl be more pricey for more high quality fish. Miso soup isn't included either but there are other restaurants not giving out miso for takeout. The rolls were fine but the rice didn't taste seasoned. The gyoza was good, hard to mess up those. My SIL apparently loves this place and referred us. So her and her partner are regulars. She mentioned you get more fish dining in compared to takeout.

Yelp
*[Pre-COVID-19]* What a gem this place is. We visited this sushi joint a few times before covid and were happy to discover their delicious sushi. Happy hour all day everyday - oh yeah baby! The server was always the same gal who obviously had worked there a long time cause she was managing the entire floor herself with such expertise. The street parking around the area was always easy and seating for the two of us were easy though when there was a crowd. For us, the Agedashi Tofu is a must order with the silky soft egg tofu, light batter and light dashi borth. Bad Boy Rolls is the most popular dish and we always ordered it. The rolls have a combination of unagi, snow crab, avocado, cream cheese, tempura with spicy mayo and soy glaze. However, we've tried their other rolls which never disappoint. Golden Lobster Roll was incredible, one of my favorite with tempura lobster, avocado, cucumber, tempura crunch, golden tobiko with mayo and soy glaze. Don't forget their high-quality nigiri. The Seared Salmon Belly Nigiri melts in your mouth, but the regular Salmon Belly Nigiri is the best one yet.. it's incredibly buttery tender, completely melts in your mouth - such an understated simplicity that doesn't get old. We also can't get enough of the Spicy Seattle Rolls that are simple and easy on the wallet. Paired them with sake or even delicious cocktails and mocktails, Tsui Sushi Bar made sushi nights ten times better.

Yelp
Tsui is just the definition of a "you can't go wrong with that" restaurant. Although it's not among the favorites, it's a solid choice anytime. I ordered for takeout but saw a huge amount of other orders waiting to be picked up. This is being written based on when dine-in was not yet available, so I can only imagine this place gets some great business. The pick-up process was organized and quick, along with some friendly service. The rolls here were tasty and pricing was decent. Less than $10 for classic rolls and about $15-18 for signature rolls. Among my favorites were the Green Lake and So Good rolls. I also did like the agedashi tofu side dish. Overall, a great choice for sushi if you're in the area. The ambience here seems really fun and lively as it is also a bar. Looking forward to dining in here soon.
google avatar

Lillian T.

Yelp
If you're ordering via phone, keep in mind that the wait can be an hour (as it was for us), but the wait is SO worth it! I picked up in person and indoor dining seemed pretty well-spaced and comfortable. Given the line of people also picking up takeout orders, this place is quite popular and there is a reason why. Fish is very high quality even as a to-go order. My favorite items are the Super Ocean Roll, yellow tail sashimi, and takoyaki - but honestly, everything that we ordered was amazing and I'd definitely come back again!

Yelp
YESSSSSSS! Finally I have a found a decent sushi place that isn't in the usual Caphill/Downtown/etc areas. :) Located in the Greenlake area, Tsui Sushi Bar is a great place to stop by, especially during happy hour. Prices are super affordable and the quality of the food = on point. Was feeling a bit hungry, so I ordered: Seattle crunch, Eel roll, miso soup, and the takoyaki. Miso soup = generous portion and not too bland or salty. Takoyaki was surprisingly filling and very tasty! As for the sushi rolls, I loveeeee the eel roll for the eel to rice ratio. So nice to actually taste the eel and not have it smothered by the rice and sauce. Finally, the Seattle crunch roll was perfect since you can taste more of the individual ingredients vs everything covered in the typical sauces. In terms of service, it was alright. My tea order got forgotten but the server was quick on removing it from the bill. In summary, I am definitely coming back here for more happy hour sushi and to taste other dishes :)

Yelp
I come to this Sushi resteraunt everytime im in seattle. This is my favorite place to relax and chil. I enjoy the food and enviroment . They have fresh seafood and best set of the plate. Recommended! !

Yelp
This place has really changed. The waitress was vacuuming under our table as we were waiting for our food- super awkward and so loud we couldn't have a conversation. The only roll that was good was the fried tempura roll. The other rolls tasted like they were made with rice a few days old.
google avatar

Denisse D.

Yelp
I loooove the sushi here! Ive ordered from here multiple times and have dined in as well. Both are always great experiences and the sushi is always so yummy

Yelp
If you're looking for a cheap sushi spot, but one that offers good food, drinks, and service, this is the place. It wasn't too crowded when we arrived, so we got seated pretty quickly and given menus promptly. The server was friendly and came back enough to answer any questions we had on the menu or to see how everything was. Another perk is that it's happy hour all throughout dinner time, and those are reflected in the menu. We ordered the sashimi combo and three rolls. This was definitely enough for the two of us, and came at a reasonable price. The fish tasted fresh, and the sashimi especially came in a good sized cut. My favorite was the hamachi that was so smooth and almost melted in my mouth. I'm picky with hamachi and also salmon skin rolls, which is something we also ordered. The salmon skin was really good, not too salty, not difficult to chew, perfect amount of sauce, and cooked nicely. All in all, I was happy with the rolls and sashimi cuts we had that night, and for the price, it's pretty hard to beat!
google avatar

Robyn C.

Yelp
Went on a Friday night, sat at the bar. We ended up having the omakase- the quality of the fish was good and it was nice to have a couple of pieces that was marinated to enhance the texture and flavor of the fish. Two stars less because: - the server we had wasn't very attentive... until it was time for the bill. - got our agedashi tofu barely warm - weird reheated sous vide steak nigiri
google avatar

Bailey H.

Yelp
Severely average sushi in a nice atmosphere. Slowest service at any restaurant I've ever been to.

Yelp
When happy hour is at every hour at Tsui, it is hard not to like them! This is hands down one of my favorite neighborhood sushi joints. They have a beautiful space and an extensive menu. We always do a mix of sashimi, and some rolls. The fish is fresh and the rolls are rolled well, so they don't fall apart. Every sushi roll we've had here is awesome, so you can't really go wrong with that. On our last visit, I tried the takoyaki (deep fried octopus bites), that was fried to perfectly and tasted so good. We've had the sishito peppers and the edamame as well, which you can't go wrong with. Overall, awesome spot and great service. Will definitely continue to make this my everyday happy hour sushi spot of choice.

Valeria A.

Yelp
This food is really good and I have ordered from here many times, however they are very STINGY with their spicy mayo. Every.single.time I have asked for spicy mayo they give you the smallest amount and if you ask for more, same thing, they pour you another small amount which truly doesn't make sense since spicy mayo is not an expensive sauce to make but they might do this because it is free to the customers. I never get this experience at different sushi places and even though I love their food, this type of service really makes me not want to buy there anymore. I ordered 2 spicy tuna rolls and I'm not even half way done and I already ran out of spicy mayo and now the rest of the order won't taste the same without it. Truly disappointing!! Stop being stingy!!!

Yelp
Well.. Another one bites the dust.. The service was SLOW and very inattentive.. Me and my friend waited 30 minutes after finishing off a bottle of sake and still had not received any of our food! None of the servers came to check on us during that time or give a reason on why the food was taking so long.. After about 35 minutes I asked them the status on our order ( which was 2 pieces seared salmon belly, and scallop/ and two special rolls) she replies, "We have a lot of Togo orders". Which didn't answer my question at all. They did have a lot of to-go orders BUT I'm not so understanding when I see them pack 5 or more to-go orders that are still waiting to be picked up while I've waited 35 minutes without receiving any of my food and no one checking in on us. I would think that the priority would the people dining in but NOPE. After the 35 minutes we finally received our food, BUT WAIT, it's only the nigiri... I am quite hangry at this point- a girl just wants her food :( 45 minutes go by since we've been seated and finally the first roll comes out... The waiting game for our the rest of our food continues.. 55 minutes have gone by since we've been seated and FINALLY we receive our last roll... I give two stars because the sushi was good and I have worked at a restaurant industry before so I can understand that the sushi chefs can get overwhelmed. HOWEVER, the servers should've communicated this to us. Eating here left me feeling sad (I get heartbroken over food), mad, and hangry.

Yelp
Food wasn't tasty, it didn't feel fresh at all. Even tho when there wasn't a lot of people, food took an eternity to be ready. We ordered 4 plates, they gave us the first after 20 min (it was normal waiting) and then the others, 20 min after. And when we asked how long it was gonna be, they answered rudely. Definitely not coming back, ever.

Yelp
Came with family during Sunday 5ish. The restaurant was clean and the staff was very efficient and courteous. We're all impressed with the freshness and beautiful presentation of their sushi! They also have great variety to choose from kitchen, the hamachi Kama was so delicious! Will be back when in the area! :)

Yelp
I freaking LOVE this place! After my go to sushi place re-opened with some disappointment, I was on the search for a new haunt. This place doesn't disappoint at all! They clearly state what is in each of their rolls and everything I have had there is so good! I have both dined in and ordered to-go, which was super easy through their website and they have always followed special requests for individual rolls. Also, dining in felt as safe as could be with HEPA air filters everywhere. And these weren't just any HEPA air filters, they are quality ones! Please check these guys out if you are near Greenlake, this is a great sushi place to check out and grab some fantastic dishes. My new favorite sushi spot, for sure! I wish they were open for lunch, but super glad they are open everyday and near me!

Yelp
I have dined at this restaurant pre-COVID and have done take-out in the COVID era. All experiences have been overall positive. Food is quite delicious and prices are reasonable. Good take-out sushi has been something severely lacking during COVID, and honestly this place is still pretty great. I first ordered in early April, and the pick-up experience was a little bit disorganized. However, Tsui has done a nice job streamlining their delivery experience. Last Friday, we ordered online for pick-up. While the wait was pretty long (1 hour), placing the order was easy and it was ready on-time. Pick up went smoothly, even though we had to pay inside (rather than online) We got miso soup, several sushi rolls, and tempura vegetables. Everything was delicious, fresh, and packed well. I will certainly be back next time I have a craving for sushi.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I order from here like once a week. Now with Covid, we order via DoorDash and it's great Bc you can add a bottle of sake or beer to your order. They have a wide selection of flavored sakes. We enjoy ordering the chicken karage as an appetizer and it is delicious. The rolls are all good! The food always comes fresh and the fish is quality. This is our favorite sushi spot nearby; our go-to!

Yelp
Came here a month ago, just got around to reviewing it and I still remember how much this place left a bitter taste in my mouth. We were told they were backed up in the sushi department, but we were quoted a shorter wait time then in actuality. We came in at 7:10pm, ordering Agedashi tofu to tide us over until the sushi came. It came out after 20minutes, but wasn't bad, crispy enough, especially for our starving tummies. The first roll, tuna roll came out at 7:50pm, with the least amount of rice I've seen on sushi I'm wondering if they had a rice shortage. The second roll, spider roll came out at 8:20pm, a full hour after we arrived. It tasted fishy, not fresh at all, and quite definitely not worth the wait. The service was pretty inattentive and unhelpful, not to blame her, she seemed overworked. But to wait more than an hour for mediocre sushi and not even get a few edamame pods or something... It's the second time coming here, after having not been that impressed the first time, after this time, we're definitely avoiding this place.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite sushi places on the area. I love the brick design on the walls and the bar is stocked. The service is good and each waiter is super nice. The sushi is really good, they have a mean spicy Seattle roll. The peach jelly sake drink is so interesting, you should give it a try.

Yelp
My heart hurts a bit to write this review. Before COVID, I would have given it 4 stars and highly encouraged people to come for the happy hour on Sundays. It was delicious and we ate our weight in sushi and sake for about $30/person. I've encountered some issues in the past with delays while paying (the computer is down, etc), but overall not too much to complain about. However, during COVID, I came to support by ordering take-out ahead of time. There is no organization. At least 12 people were waiting outside the restaurant with no clear communication about who was up next or if your order was ready. When I did finally get into the restaurant, you could tell the two servers were stressed. It was obvious there was chaos and they hadn't worked out a flow in terms of getting, filling, and sending out orders. The two servers also didn't make eye contact at all so it was hard to get their attention. When I finally did, 45 minutes after the pick-up time I got through my online order, they found my order and said they hadn't started working on it. Again, I get it. Take-out in this fashion is completely new and is a lot. But come on. At that time, I was starving since it was now 7:45pm and I asked them to cancel the order. During the hour that I had been waiting for my meal, I maybe saw ~5 orders go out. There has got to be a better way to organize this. If I could, I'd recommend they close for a couple days or a week to sort out exactly how they are going to serve more than 5 orders/hour and how they are going to communicate to the customers waiting outside for their orders. I hope things have improved since I went in mid-May, but this was honestly unacceptable.

Yelp
Tsui is my favorite neighborhood restaurant. I order takeout once a week on average, and I also take friends here for dining in. The sushi is amazing, the service is friendly and efficient, the prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere and ambiance is just cool. One can sit at the bar and have a beer or cocktail with a few bites or get a table with friends and tuck in for a multi-course dinner. It's a triumph. They are always crowded for a reason.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place. I get the concept. I like the menu. The happy hour is reasonably priced. But I just can't get myself to come back to this place. The sushi quality is incredibly inconsistent and there are just so many better sushi restaurants in Seattle. It's like, if I want a chirashi bowl, I'll go to Musashi's or Fremont Bowl. If I want to go out for a happy hour vibe, I'd rather go to Umi Sake House. If I'm looking for an izakaya? Then Suika. I literally cannot think of a reason why I would choose to come here. If the fish was consistently fresh or portioned appropriately, I would give this place another chance since it's at a great location and it has a nice ambience. But unfortunately, fish quality has gone down since they first opened. When Tsui Sushi first opened, they gave generous thick cuts of sashimi for their sashimi set. Then the next few times I ordered it, the cuts were either smaller, thinner or missing a piece... the quality was just not up to par. I've given this place multiple opportunities but it just keeps missing the mark for me. If they went back to serving fresh and thick cuts of fish, I would definitely come back. But although not terrible, the food quality and quantity ends up being just OK. Sushi is my favorite food- so unless quality back to how it used to be, I will not be returning.
