Houston’s Newest Restaurants and Bar Openings, 2024 | Eater Houston

"At Tsujita Artisan Noodle’s first Houston location in Westchase the rich, soothing bowls of ramen and the much-sought-after tsukemen dipping noodles are front and center, honoring the Los Angeles outpost’s cult-favorite reputation while also offering buns filled with pulled pork, karaage chicken, and chicken char siu." - Brittany Britto Garley

The 14 Hottest New Restaurants in Houston, May 2024

"A favorite of the late LA Weekly and Los Angeles Times food critic Jonathan Gold, Tsujita Artisan Noodle became a staple of the Los Angeles dining scene thanks to its rich, soothing bowls of ramen and buns filled with pulled pork, karaage chicken, and chicken char siu. At the first Houston location in Westchase, the artisan noodles that Gold was such a fan of retain a prominent place on the menu, as do inventive bowls of ramen and tsukemen, the latter known for its much-sought-after dipping noodles served alongside a thick, porky broth." - Brittany Britto Garley, Kayla Stewart

Google
Very nice location in the new West on West (WOW) on Westheimer. Atmosphere is nice. Seated fast with no wait on a Monday night. The tsukemen was good but did not quite meet our expectations as compared to the Los Angeles location reviews. The fried gyoza was deep fried and put on a hot skillet which made it even crisper. Could some flavor contrast to cut through the fat and grease. Would try again!

Google
A dipping noodle specialty Japanese restaurant. Unlike a ramen house, the noodle, the toppings, and broth are served separately. The noodle is thicker, bouncier, and chewier than ramen; also served cold. The sauce is richer, saltier, meant for dipping (not prolonged soaking); served warm. Food is not as good as ambiance or service. The fried chicken appetizer is juicy and tender, crispy on the outside. We like that. While its ramen is good, the sauce for the tsukemen is salty rich. Cha-siu is a tad tough. The pork katsu was a huge disappointment - super dry and tough. The chicken katsu was slightly better. Tips; Tsukemen is a fun Japanese culture dish, so always worth a try. For those who find the sauce too rich, rather than waiting for the end to turn it into the broth, do it sooner. Adding more lime and some dash broth will make the dipping sauce better.

Google
my expectation has been raised since visiting Japan recently, been searching for a decent bowl of ramen and I have to say this is so far my favorite in Houston. Just be prepared to shell out $16-18 for a bowl and a bit of a wait, this place is getting popular quick! Update 4/5: something was off today, didn’t taste as good as the first time…

We came here on a weekday night to avoid the crowd as this place was relatively new to the area and the wait was long on busy weekend nights. They are known for their dipping ramen from Japan. I love the modern and minimalistic interior. Our waitress was very friendly and service was quick given they weren't too busy. I opted for the spicy Hakata tonkotsu since I wasn't in the mood for the dipping ramen. People tend to make the mistake of pouring the ramen broth into the noodles instead of dipping the noodles into the broth. The waitress will inform you of this if it's your first time eating this concept. Broth was rich and creamy with the right amount of spicy. Portion was good. We also ordered calamari and takoyaki. The calamari was not what I expected and for the price, I wish it had more. Overall, it was a good experience.

Stopped by hear on Father's Day since Umi Buffet down the street was packed. Ordered the special for Father's Day the Waygu Ramen with gold flakes. All the food we ordered was delicious broth had a nice flavor. Good experience and nice decor. Make sure you check out Teso Life afterwards!

Google
Found this place on social media and was wondering if it's the same Tsujita that's in the Heights (Killer Noodle) and also wanted to try the tsukemen. Got tonkotsu ramen with extra noodles (on the side) and it tasted really good and the soup was a good hot temperature. Also got tsukemen and the soup flavor was excellent which I think had fish broth. Drank the soup to finish it without asking for dashi to go with it even though it was a bit too thick but so good. Tsukemen soup gets cooler faster than soup noodles so that is one drawback for us who like hot temperature. Great food and service and nice atmosphere, good thing that this came from Japan. Want to come back and try some of the appealing appetizers too next time.

Google
Pretty restaurant with outstanding tsukemen! The noodles had the perfect balance of chew/tenderness, the broth was rich and flavorful, and the toppings were perfectly prepared. We enjoyed the tonkotsu, gyoza, and fried tofu, as well!

Google
I had a fantastic experience at Tsujita Artisan Noodle! They have a great selection of dishes, from appetizers like takoyaki and chicken karaage to ramen bowls and curries. Everything I tried - the takoyaki, chicken karaage, gyoza, crispy spicy tofu, chicken katsu curry, fire chicken bowl, chicken ramen, and miso - was delicious. The service was also excellent. I highly recommend Tsujita Artisan Noodle for a delicious and enjoyable Japanese dining experience! Please like this review and follow me if you want more honest and unbiased content.

Yelp
Really good ramen spot! The broth was flavorful, noodles cooked perfectly, and the service was friendly and fast. Definitely coming back!

Yelp
The chicken ramen is incredibly delicious, and the Don Katsu bowl tastes amazing too!

Yelp
tried their Tsukemen and it tasted just like the one in Japan! Envy people in Houston. Bring it to Omaha!

Yelp
Cute and casual ramen spot in the WOW Center on Westheimer. I really loved the vibe, casual but chic. Their menu style is great: not an overwhelming amount of options, but just enough, with different portion sizes to choose from, which I appreciate. I ordered the Black Garlic ramen, and it was perfect. The portion was just right for one person, plenty of noodles, piping hot, and the broth was delicious creamy, garlicky, and full of flavor. The pork was very good and not too fatty. Honestly, everything about it was delicious. The only thing I'd love to see is more topping options to customize. Other than that, I really enjoyed my meal and will definitely be back!

Yelp
I came to Tsujita Ramen when Houston got hit with a freeze in early 2025. The operating hours was kind of confusing. I thought I would come back again but I never did. Although I have been to West on West "WoW" mall often. I was super hungry that night in a cold January night. The restaurant was about to close, sort of. So, I ordered something vegan. The food came out pretty quick. The menu looked fancy and I had to use Google for a lot of items that I was no familiar with, like Age, as part of Age Tofu Curry. Ok, Age is short for Agedashi as Agedashi Tofu 揚げ出し豆腐. It's a lightly deep fried tofu in cubes, which covered with potato starch. I thought it was a delightful vegan dish. It was my first time trying. It was kind of gummy to chew. I like the decor and convenient location. I would def come back. Since I posted my photos on Facebook, my friends have been asking about it. I think I am going to check back with them to see how they liked Tsujita Ramen.

Yelp
TLDR: curry katsu don- OK Kitchen- clean and visible Tsukemen- uncharacteristically expensive Service- friendly Good beer special This was a beautiful curry katsu don, but it was spicier than what one would expect for Japanese cuisine and the curry was a bit bland. I'm used to the curry Katsu Don being purely, savory, with a little bit of heat coming from the curry alone. I felt there must've been some pepper in the breading, which I don't feel is normal for this dish and wouldn't prefer. However, ambience is very nice, and they have a good deal on beer, and you can see the chefs doing their work in the kitchen, which makes one very confident in the cleanliness of the operation. Furthermore, this is one of the only places where you can really find tsukemen-- however, I did not order this because, although in Japan it was but nine dollars, it was more than $20 on the menu here. However, I think that this must be one of their specialty dishes, being one of the only restaurants in Houston to offer it, and also because I observed some of the patrons going to town on their cold dip Ramen.

Yelp
Went for their Naruto collab. I've definitely heard mixed reviews of Tsujita. The restaurant is not too busy, with plenty of seating and is in the Westheimer Plaza with lots of parking. It was decorated with tons of Naruto banners and wall decals and on the left wall, they were projecting episodes. Kpop and anime songs played overhead. They forgot to give us the special collab coaster, or they ran out but didn't tell us. We got the Naruto crispy chicken buns and the katsu curry (chicken and pork). Pricing wise, it was about $50 for two people. The curry is reminiscent of the deeper, darker gogo curry mix that I really like, but otherwise didn't have much other mix ins like potatoes or carrots. The chicken was crispy and the rice was nice and sticky. The buns had crispy chicken with a good spicy kick. This is probably going to be standard pricing nowadays with inflation and portion size wise, each entree would probably be enough for two meals. I wish they had the lunch menu specials available on the weekends because I was really interested in trying their egg sandos. Overall, not bad, not anything I'd go out of my way for, but I might be convinced if they have more anime collabs in the future and I was in the area.

Yelp
I got the regular Tonkonsu ramen and honestly there wasn't much flavor to it. It was decent for lunch but I wouldn't drive out of my way and expect life changing flavor. The egg was delicious though! Prices are decent and food came out pretty quickly!

Yelp
Always good to add another ramen shop to Houston, especially this part of town. Plus, this isn't any ramen shop, it's a branch from LA's Tsujita, so at least you can expect some level of quality. Price-wise, very fair tbh. You can pay a little more for premium, or spicy versions. Broth is solid and creamy. Tonkotsu is at a good level of cook. Maybe it's because it's still new, but they have a lot of different specials going on, so we got a chashu bowl for $6 and calamari for free, so take advantage of the specials while you can! Pretty spacious inside, with a large table that is perfect for big groups. Staff is friendly. Lots of parking because it's inside the up-and-coming Westchase plaza that has Teso, 99 Ranch, Onodera, GEN, Lady M, and the Alley. Worth a visit, will have to get the tsukemen (their OG dish) next time.

Yelp
3 stars is for the food but I'll give it a 4 because our server Tuong was very nice and accommodating. I didn't have high expectations for this spot due to mixed reviews but it got the job done and I left full and satisfied. To start I ordered a strawberry lemonade as my drink. It was a little sweet for my liking but a refreshing beverage. My friend and I shared a chicken karaage, spicy karaage bun & shrimp bun. The chicken karaage was just okay, it came out pipping hot & crispy but a bit boring in flavor. It was kind of odd that they gave us tartar sauce for our chicken, I would've preferred some sort of spicy mayo or even spicy chipotle. The shrimp bun was uninspiring & they were cheap since they only gave us one shrimp. The bun was fluffy. For our main course I ordered their spicy Tonkotsu & my friend got the spicy chicken ramen. Both our broth was flavorful & creamy but a little too oily as well; most likely from all that chili oil. The chashu was tendered and the egg was marinated to perfection but overcooked. I like mine gooey and runny. My friend chicken was also tendered. The noodles were chewy and al dente. To be honest it wasn't worth paying 15 bucks for a medium size bowl of ramen. It was mainly noodles with small amounts of meats and toppings. Overall, it wasn't bad but I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here again. The decor is nice with an anime theme. The service is what gave it a 4 otherwise it would've been a 3. Will I come back? Only if my friends decide to go.

Yelp
Very cute and aesthetic ramen restaurant. Came on Sunday for lunch, no wait. Food took about only 10 min to come out. This is my first time here and I got the dipping ramen deluxe. The regular size is all you need and you'll get full for sure, no need for the large! Noodles was chewy and delicious. Server was very nice and attentive. If I'm in the area, I'd come back.

Yelp
Tsujita is a cozy , warm and inviting ramen shop in westchase. With affordable prices but high quality service and food , you can't go wrong coming to this restaurant. I have been frequenting this establishment the past year and half and it's my favorite place to be on a cold or rainy day for a nice warm bowl of soup. They have fun anime shows and movies projecting for patrons to watch and a nice selection of ambiance music in the background. The takoyaki balls are my favorite appetizers. They come out nice and hot every time and the two sauces on top with the dancing bonito flakes on top add the perfect texture to it. I usually gravitate to the flavorful spicy miso ramen which to my surprise the first time I tried it came with corn that added a nice sweet balance to the spice. But today the server convinced me to try the black garlic tonkotsu ramen and I'm so glad he did! It had the forwardness of the garlic with the powerful backend of flavorful from the familiar broth. I almost didn't add my extra chili lol overall today like any day I come to this restaurant was delicious and comforting , especially during this cold front in Houston.

Yelp
Tsujita is famous for its tsukemen, or dipping ramen. Unfortunately during my visit I did not order its most famous dish. The dishes that I did try included the calamari appetizer and the karaage rice bowl. Both of these dishes were very good and cooked to perfection. The karaage in particular was crispy and juicy and had a light soy based sauce drizzled on top. They also offer lunch deals where you can get a smaller sized ramen and a rice bowl which my friends went for and were more than full afterwards. The decor is very nice and each table has a lot of space. The service was quite fast when we visited on a Friday around 11am. I hope to return soon to try their ramen, more specifically their famous tsukemen.

Yelp
Had a great lunch here during the weekend. I got the spicy chicken ramen, and overall it was great. To me, the star of the show was the ramen itself. Texture of the noodle is very good, very different from other ramen places. The other ingredients and broth were tasty too. I also ordered the chicken karaage which was ok. My friend ordered the Hokkaido Croquette, which was ok, but it was very much like tempura sweet potato taste for me. The restaurant was spacious and clean, and staff was ok. I will like to go back for the noodles once again!

Yelp
I was craving ramen on a chilly day and decided to give this place a try. I ordered a variety of dishes, starting with appetizers: Chicken Karaage, Spicy Cucumber, Japanese Croquette, Pork Belly Bun, and Chicken Karaage Bun. Out of these, the Spicy Cucumber and Chicken Karaage were the only standouts--flavorful and worth ordering. Unfortunately, the rest were underwhelming and didn't leave much of an impression. For ramen, I went with the Spicy Tonkotsu and Spicy Black Garlic. While both were fairly standard, I preferred the Spicy Black Garlic broth as it had more depth and flavor. That said, neither really stood out as exceptional. Service was a bit slow, likely because there was only one employee managing the entire floor. Overall, I'm glad I tried this spot, but it didn't quite hit the mark for me--I probably wouldn't return.

Yelp
Came back a year later (Oct 2025) and totally disappointed by the food. Their tsukemen when first opened used to be so good, reminding me of those I had in Japan. But now, it's a total disappointment to the point I couldn't recognize. The broth was bland, watery, seriously lacking umami note required for a dipping ramen. The noodle was chewy and bouncy enough, but still too thick for a watery broth. I couldn't finish the bowl...

Yelp
The service here was great, and my waitress always made sure to check up on my friend and I! We came on a Friday night, and it wasn't too packed, so there was ample seating. I ordered the spicy Miso ramen and the spicy Karaage bun while my friend ordered the Karaage bowl. Overall, the food wasn't awful, but it was borderline salty. The spicy Karaage bun had a good crisp, but they went overboard with the chili oil; the Karaage meat was already fried, so adding chili oil to it (for spice) made the bun nauseating + salty to me. I would've preferred if they had a spicy mayo sauce, or made the Karaage meat seasoned to be spicier. I recommend trying their other baos, but the spicy Karaage bun wasn't the most pleasant experience. Similarly, my friend said the meat for her Karaage bowl was also a bit salty. Likewise, it was interesting how they made the spicy paste separate from the ramen and even added butter to the mix. After mixing it all together, the ramen broth became a lot more creamy and the spice definitely packed a punch! It was enjoyable at first, though, did find it to be a bit heavy after a while. However, the ramen had a nice chewy texture and I liked how it was prepared! I'm not sure if the addition of butter to the broth was necessary. I enjoyed how the pork was prepared though, very tender and thinly sliced. The food here is a bit expensive, but honestly, what ramen place isn't on the pricier side? I would come back to try their other options, but several other ramen shops in Houston are cheaper & tastier.
google avatar

Leslie K.

Yelp
The spicy tsukemen hit the spot and I love how there is a mini option so that you can save room to try all the other dessert or boba places in the area :) It does come room temp, so you do have to request your noodles hot if that is your personal preference. The kids menu is an excellent deal and comes with a coin to play their claw machine.
google avatar

Wayne N.

Yelp
Lotta hype from my friends about this place as they've had it in LA. Is it good? Sure. Live up to the hype? Don't think so. We came on a Friday night and wasn't too packed but service was a little slow. Got the corner booth and the sunlight coming in was super annoying - need some blinds by the windows. It's funny and cute they got some Disney movies playing on the wall, which is fun for the kids if you got some with you. Tsukemen is the way to go and the deluxe regular comes with a parade of pork and plenty of noodles. The large is just more noodles, so I would skip unless you're super hungry. The thick noodles have good chew and the concentrated broth is plenty porky and rich. I do not recommend squeezing the lime as the flavor profile with the acidity surprisingly to cut through the funk was not up my alley but to each their own. The accoutrements were fine - bamboo, egg and seaweed. As for the pork parade, each was different but kinda bland overall. There's some leaner thinly sliced pork loin, some smokier pulled pork and fatty pork belly - the loin and belly were surprisingly bland and the pulled pork flavor profile just didn't feel right with the rest of the dish. But interesting flight regardless. There's not much meat in the non-deluxe. Katsu curry is also ok. Very thick pork katsu with some interesting golden curry. But nothing to write home about. All in all, it's fine but had better for cheaper, since it is pretty pricey for what it is.

Yelp
The best ramen, super delicious, I loved it. I'll come back whenever I want to eat ramen. The employees are super attentive and the place is very nice #(TSUJITATX)

Yelp
I came here during my weekend trip to Houston in hopes of satisfying my Tsujita (Sawtelle location) craving. While the tsukemen here isn't bad, it's nowhere near as good as the Sawtelle location. I assumed they would use the same recipe but something tastes different in the dipping broth and it lacks nuance. The baos are quite tasty though! This location has a much bigger menu which is interesting.

Yelp
We went for the last weekend of the month to get their souffle pancakes and I thought it was really good. We got there right as they opened so we didn't have to wait to get seated. The Tsukemen was a bit salty but otherwise good. The service was pretty fast given that it was really busy and we ordered the souffle pancakes because the worker told us that it would take a while and we got it right after our meal was finished which was great. The inside is so cute and seems clean.

Yelp
My daughter and I had lunch here last weekend. I've been to the location in Los Angeles 10+ times. The Houston location is new, and the interior feels new and nice. Service as good (a bit slow at times). Casually elegant for a ramen house. The menu at the Houston location offers a lot more than LA does. We stuck to the old favorites. I had the Tsukemen (5/5). Almost as good as the LA location. Still a 5 out of 5. For those that are not familiar, this is served as a bowl of cooked but dry noodles (more like a udon noodle than a typical ramen noodle) with a side of "dipping" broth. One of my favorite "ramens". My daughter had the Tonkatsu. She gave it a 5 out of 5 and thought it's one of the best ramens she's had. We look forward to going back!

Yelp
Came here for Tsumicon over the weekend because they were giving a 10% discount! The place was decorated nicely. Food was good. I wasn't a fan of the ramen tbh. But I was a huge fan of the gyoza and the boa bun! The karaage was very yummy. I would definitely come back to have these again. Staff were attentive and pretty chill. Please note this place is no cash. But you can tip in cash. I would come back here on my trip. They have some bowls I want to try!

Yelp
I think I just found my new favorite ramen spot. The noodles are superb as well as the nice broth! The combination is just perfect. Service is great and friendly - prompt. The space is nicely decorative and thoughtfully designed. Space is also very clean and comfortable. We will be back for more Ramen and hopefully take pictures before slurping the delicious noodles.

Nguyen B.

Yelp
I have been here two times. The burn garlic tonkotsu was ok. However, I don't see much differences between the large size and regular size when I ordered it. The portion is smaller compare to other Ramen places I have tried. Pricing is comparable to other place but with less toppings (Ramen) compare to my regular Night Market Noddle Ramen spot. I came because this place is closer to my house.

Chloe T.

Yelp
Baos were tasty- I liked the pork belly because the sauce added a lot of flavor. The Tsukemen was an interesting fun eating experience. The broth is a little thick to me like very concentrated in flavor.
google avatar

Kim T.

Yelp
The staff were great, they took some things into consideration. I wanted to see what was special about their Tsukemen so I had to try it out. The karaage was crispy and hot when it came out. The sauce that you dip it in was an interesting flavor that I've never had before. I got both the regular and spicy pork belly buns; i preferred the regular over the other one after trying both. I really appreciated how al dente the noodles were in the dipping Ramen and the Hakata Tonkotsu. The flavors in the tsukemen had a very strong bonito dashi taste. The diced pork chashu bits got the charred scent as well as being very tender. The veggies were pretty fresh. Seating and tables were very spacious.

Yelp
Food is awesome and service is top notch definitely will come back we love it here. The kids took tons of pictures inside the restaurant and we had so much fun

Yelp
Great customer service! They're friendly and know the menu extensively. The food is as equally good and highly recommend. Taste extremely fresh and with passion. The actual setting is cozy and clean as well.

Yelp
Cool anime vibe and the ramen soup was hot, but everything else was pretty rough. Parking spots are super tight, waited 10 minutes with no one checking on us, and when we finally got seated, it was next to a dirty table with trash under ours. Ramen's decent but overpriced for the portion. Fun place, but they really need to work on service and cleanliness.
google avatar

Yelp
Food - 7/10 I don't think the food is worth the price or the hype honestly. I was rather disappointed in the flavor but I also think the sticker price got to me too. Service - 6/10 but there was only one server for what looked like either half the restaurant or the entire thing. They had been open for a couple weeks too (this is review that I forgot to post, I haven't been back to see how it's changed). Ambiance - 7/10 it was pretty on the inside but rather loud cause it's all hard surfaces.

Yelp
Decent place to have a good ol bowl of Ramen. Located in the increasingly popular shops of West on West, Tsujita has stamped itself properly and made itself known. Coming in with high expectations the place fell shy of meeting them. Luckily, I went when there were ample seating and situated myself in the corner. No problem, I ordered the Tsukemen and it was quite delicious though the quantity left me wanting more. They're sheisty on the toppings. Half an egg, 1 piece of char sui a few pinches of bamboo. However the noodles they give are a healthy portion. The broth was creamy and well seasoned. For a premium price of $18+ I felt there would be more to be desired. Tsujita is just ok. Not much to complain about besides the high pricing and lesser quantity than you think you should have gotten. However at this location pricing seems to be more on the premium side of things for all restaurants around here. Not bad, won't be back.

Yelp
Mediocre ramen place located on Westheimer in the same plaza with 99 ranch market. Food: tsukemen ramen tastes okay, I felt that the noodle sticks together and the broth tastes, a little bit salty for my taste. What I didn't like is their topping, I felt the meat tastes old. Curry pork katsu rice plate - curry sauce is a little bit runny but tastes amazing. Adequate rice portion with topping. Pork katsu is crispy but a bit dry and not tender. Seasoning of the meat itself needs improvement. Takoyaki balls taste good but not crispy bc it's drenched in the sauce. The octopus topping inside has very small portion, maybe add a bit more for the texture. Interior is nice and clean. Although the setting of the table made it uncomfortable bc of the space in between the neighboring seatings are too close to each other. Service - our waitress is very nice and sweet. Although I wish she could pay attention to see if we finished reading the menu before asking what we want to order. I felt it a little rush at first. However, she understood my message and later gave us time to decide before taking our orders and attend to our needs. Overall, we had a decent time here.

Yelp
This was one of the best ramens in houston I've had in a while! In the same area as teso life and overall in a nice shopping strip. Restaurant itself is large and service was quick and easy; no wait times. Tried the classic Tonkotsu ramen and the broth was one of the most authentic in a while. Not "sweet" like most other ramen places around. We tried a sampler of the appetizers and honestly was indifferent for it (tastes as expected), but the ramen was the star in my book. Definitely worth it and would recommend!

Yelp
Very nice atmosphere. The staff was very nice. The chicken curry was very nice, the spice kicks in after several bites. For 12.45$ it was really good though the portion little small
google avatar

Jesus D.

Yelp
LA or Houston, the dipping ramen tastes exactly the same. Noodles are bouncy and chewy as the way it should be. The broth was phenomenal, the bonito or fish taste lingered thru the entire meal. And once you are done with the noodles, a fill of dashi broth provides another dimension into the meal. As Ketoish practitioner, I don't mind going for a bowl of noodles during my cheat day of carbs
google avatar

Yelp
I ate here on a Saturday early afternoon with my family. There was plenty of parking available as there aren't many shops yet due to ongoing construction inside the building. I love that they offer a kid's meal, which comes with a coin for the claw machine in the corner of the restaurant. I got the dipping ramen, and the broth was great. My only complaint is that they should offer an option for warm noodles. The cold noodles, when dipped into the hot broth, cool it down too quickly, and the broth becomes cold before you finish all the noodles and toppings. The kids loved their food and ate it all up, which is always a good sign. The appetizers were on the small side, and some had chili oil on them. If your kids can't eat spicy food, let them know to put it on the side. The only downsize is service can be a hit or miss here. Sometime they are good and sometime they are pretty bad.

Yelp
We came in for a late lunch on Sunday about 3/4pm. We started with a female server who showed us to our table, took our order, & brought us our food but after that, she completely disappeared. We were so confused as to why we couldn't find her; was her shift over? We had to flag another server down to order dessert & get our check and that took some time. (3/5): 3 PIECE TSUJITA BUNS: we ordered the BELLY, KARAAGE, & SHRIMP. They were all ok. Our favorite would be the shrimp. Unfortunately, it only came with one. I feel like they added another making it 2 shrimps per bun it would be more balanced. (3/5): DELUXE TSUKEMEN: the noodles are served cold as noted on the menu however we felt like the broth was not hot enough. After dipping the ramen a few times the broth became cool. A solution would be to ask the server if you could have HOT NOODLES. The PULLED PORK was delicious. (4/5) SPICY DLX TONKOTSU: 7 pieces of CHASHU was plenty! It is thinly sliced & perfectly tender. I enjoyed the spicy paste very much. The broth was made spicy but they also added some spice on top that you can mix in or use on the side for other foods. (1/5): MATCHA SOUFFLE PANCAKE (ONLY SOLD LAST WEEKEND OF EVERY MONTH) - we got lucky & happened to go on the last Sunday of the month so of course we had to try it. The server recommended the matcha cause he said it was a bit sweeter but so disappointing. A bit deceiving as well because I thought the pancake would be MATCHA FLAVORED however there were just matcha sprinkles on top which you could barely taste. The pancake itself was very eggy. More savory than I would have preferred for a dessert. NOT WORTH THE PRICE. I honestly wish I could have just skipped out & got dessert somewhere else in the plaza. The pancakes took some time to prepare as indicated on the menu but if we had someone checking up on us maybe we could have ordered it ahead of time so that it would have been ready when we finished our meal rather than the awkward waiting. I do think Tsujita is in a great area & the Tsujita's shirt was cute!

Yelp
*dust off Yelp account* Tsujita Artisan Noodle has the most technically-correct advertisement I've ever seen from a restaurant. It has artisan noodle alright, but the artisan is too pre-occupied with making noodles to do literally anything else. First off, let's give credit where credit is due. The ramen noodle is beautifully cut and delightfully al dente, while soaking up the broth in the tsukemen set pretty well without losing its consistency. Some of the best noodles around. The tsukemen broth was also fine. Savory stuff with no obvious things to complain about. The miso broth on my friend's ramen, on the other hand... tasted straight up like peanut butter. And no, I don't joke. It's good for them that we were East Asians and hence don't do allergies, but it could've gone very South if somebody ordered the miso ramen thinking it would be made of soybeans like any reasonable miso would be. At least you can be confident it's homemade, because this home seems to have used the wrong beans altogether. Soybeans are one of the top U.S. exports. Factories ain't gonna let that fly! As is customary with Japanese cuisine, we had some appetizers and they were mostly pretty good. The fried tofu was light, crispy, interesting, and EXTRA HOT (as in, the temperature. Japanese places don't really do spicy unless you go to a challenge ramen thing which Tsujita is just not). The toumoro corn was presented in a "corn rib" form which annoyed me a little bit, but otherwise pretty nice. The calamari was firm and crunchy and was the high point of our dinner before we went to the 99 Ranch nearby and saw that exact form of calamari in a frozen package without batter. But one thing I've got to complain about is the dadgum mayo they keep spraying on everything that reeks of cheap apple cider vinegar or whatever it is that Heinz loves to put on their mass-produced stuff. Guys. You literally buy calamari from a 99 Ranch. The good Kewpie mayo was RIGHT. THERE!!! The calamari tasted better without the sauce. Much better. Anyway, back to the thing that matters which is the tsukemen set. My deluxe tsukemen came with a good helping of nori, ramen egg, negi, and menma, with Taiwanese pork belly, deli meat, and pulled pork comprising the proteins. *read menu* Oh sorry, I meant chashu, pork shoulder, and pulled pork. Texas just can't ribbing resist, huh? There was also some braised beef in the wari (broth). What is this?! (And no. I didn't think I'd have to spell this out, but BBQ pulled pork and ramen do NOT go together.) Other than that, it was alright. The usual ramen fixings weren't anything too exciting. Menma was a bit cold. The one thing that broke my heart the most, though. The one unforgivable thing. It's the rushed, unenthusiastic East Asian style serv- No. Who cares about service?! The collab ended 3 weeks ago! Why did you have to tease me with a giant picture of Amelia as I was coming in?! Why did I have to eat pulled pork and ramen with posters that say "Orange Soda" and "Boba Milk Tea" right over my head? WHY DID YOU STAND IN FRONT OF ME WITH THE ENTIRE BACK OF YOUR SHIRT PROMOTING HOLOLIVE MYTH?!!! Have you any idea how hard it was to keep professional and not go full "Baka Mitai" over this?!! TL;DR GIVE ME MY HOPES AND DREAMS BACK!!!

Yelp

Yelp
Wait time was awful. Service was terrible because staff wasn't trained properly. Food was meh, had better in Japan. They brought out dessert first before the appetisers and ramen. Tiramisu tasted heavily on the cream side instead of the coffee and chocolate. Takoyaki was okay and similar to ones you can get at izakaya wa or toukei. Fried chicken needed seasoning and was over fried. They needed to use dark meat instead of white because it was not juicy. Tsukemen ramen was good but it did not have me think that it was the best in the world. Not sure if we would go back until service and food quality improves drastically and stays consistent. The tonkotsu ramen was alright but it could have benefitted from a different type of noodle (curly) for a better mouthfeel. They also ran out of pork belly. So the portion was small.

Yelp
Grand opening was a week ago. But when we went, it was still very busy even during the late part of the afternoon when most restaurants are empty. There was about a 20-30 min wait. The waiting area is very small and congested. Some of the chairs for waiting are immediately behind a high top table which makes it a bit awkward with proximity. I feel as though the restaurant was understaffed for it being a brand new restaurant. (I don't know if staff called in sick this day or what..) The hostess was bussing tables, refilling waters, and running food. They definitely need more bussers bc there were tables that had dirty bowls/plates for a while which shouldn't happen when there are 10+ people waiting to be sat and 15-20 seats that are open. The inner decor had a modern earthy vibe and relatively clean being brand new. The staff were super friendly though despite running all over the place. Silverware was still a bit dirty when our table was set, so we had to ask for new ones. Then came the food. We ordered the deluxe and spicy tsukemen. The spicy tsukemen definitely had a more flavorful broth but with the deluxe you get the chili spice to make your standard broth spicy as well. It comes with PLENTY of noodles. As well as a lime to change the flavor profile of the noodles after you're done with half of it. The tsukemen was good but a bit on the lukewarm side due to the cold noodles. I just prefer my ramen to be hot. But the flavor was great. The pork belly was seasoned well just a bit dry for me, but the pork shoulder was great! The pulled pork was a nice edition being in Texas but I wasn't a fan of it. Had a slight curry taste. After finishing all of your noodles, you can request for dashi where they pour house broth into the remainder of your tsukemen to turn it into a broth that you can then slurp up. Great finish to a good lunch!

Yelp
Came for Monday lunch the day after their grand opening. The place was busy, naturally from the buzz of the new restaurant. Interior decor is quite nice and simple. We started with the edamame sticks and chicken karaage. The edamame sticks are basically just glorified batter with a sweet and spicy sauce. Pretty forgettable and wouldn't recommend. The karaage was fine, nice crunch and decent flavor. I think it could've used a bit more seasoning and crunch, but it was still satisfying. The tsukemen was good, but I think their Sawtelle branch is better. The pork inside the broth was a bit too firm, and the regular tsukemen broth felt too liquid and didn't coat the noodles the best. The overall taste was good though, deep and rich flavors from the broth, and the noodles were al dente and not sticking to each other. Service was slow (likely because they just opened and it was busy), but the servers were pretty nice overall. Hopefully things will speed up as the restaurant progresses.

Yelp
Good new ramen offering in Houston. The new restaurant had good decor and staff was attentive. Chashu rice bowl with pork belly- the best item of the day. The pork belly was tender and had a good mixture of meat and fatty pieces. The rice was also good. Would return for this dish. 5/5 Tsukumen- not as good as expected. The flavor was ok but did not blow me away. 3/5 Tsujita buns- tries the pork belly and fried shrimp but it wasn't anything special. 3/5 Takoyaki- good flavor and texture. No complaints. 5/5

Yelp
We came on a Sunday and a long, but expected wait because of the pancakes and people wanting to try it. We waited about 1.5 hours. The fried tofu app is really great. Spicy, crisp on the outside, and soft on the inside. I love that the ramen comes in 3 sizes since the mini was perfect for me. Both of our ramen bowls had a lot of grease on top. Even when it was mixed it still was oily. The pancake dessert is just ok. It's very eggy, which I did not expect. Mixing it with the cream and syrup is good. It's ok. I would likely try another food dish here but wouldn't get the pancake again. Our waiter was great. The lady hostess was very nice. The inside is cool and nice tables. Good vibes.

Yelp
Ahh man I realllyyyyy wanted to like this place! There's a few new restaurants in this newly reconstructed shopping plaza. The aroma smelled so promising as we exited the car and walked into the restaurant. Modern, cool interior, very clean. All of the servers were attentive so there was no problem with the service whatsoever! We ordered a few things off the menu. To start we had the Gyoza Pork dumplings (pretty good) and the "Spiced" French Fries which are just regular curly fries (Jack in the box has better seasoned curly fries) my kids didn't even eat the fries...and kids love fries! Next we decided to order some Tsujita buns, we ordered pork belly (it was ok) and karaage chicken (bland). The tacos are placed in this parchment paper which unfortunately sticks to the boa buns which we had trouble getting off. Also it rips the buns leaving it on the parchment paper. Both were under seasoned to me. Lastly we ordered the fried chicken bowl. Fried chicken in some type of sweet soy sauce. Looked great but nothing special about the flavors in the dish. Overall I was pretty disappointed. I believe the guy next to me was as well I heard him complaining to his waitress he didn't like his soup/broth. As I was given the check I asked if I could pay cash (which the server looked annoyed) yes I get it everyone pays by card and Apple Pay (which I regularly use). She looked annoyed and responded they do accept cash but they have no change to give me back (I had a hundred dollar bill and some 20s) It was fine the change could go to the server, however it would've been nice to know they prefer no cash. Our experience was a bust and I definitely don't see myself going there again.

Yelp
Came here from a friend's recommendation, and I have to say that the food is pretty good. I ordered the tsukemen per my friend's recommendation and thought it was delicious. The broth was tasty. This was my first time having tsukemen but I did think that the broth would be more flavorful but it's good albeit a little tame. The chasu was great--really tender and flavorful. All in all, a pretty good bowl of noodles.
