Great quality tuna and also fairly inexpensive. Cons: long wait time. Pretty small restaurant size so there was a long wait. I got there around 11:20 and there was an hour wait time. HOWEVER, they were the only restaurant that I'd been to in Japan that provided a little card with a time to return. I was able to go out explore, purchase souvenirs and return in my time slot to enjoy the meal without having to stand in line for an hour. I wish I could give more than 5* in service for that alone. + The chef made a special little treat that he gifted to all customers in the restaurant.

I ordered the sushi set and enjoyed the start to my day very much because of it. I typically prefer lean tuna but the toro was standout to me here, as well as the side dishes and the wonderfully, fluffy near-perfect rice. It’s easy to devour the rice quickly because it’s so fluffily satisfying but I recommend taking time chewing through each grain and savoring the sashimi kind of separately to appreciate each part individually. Usually, I think sashimi is enjoyed with rice per bite but, I say take your time on them separately here because they’re very tasty on their own. I think maybe finish off the rice with the roe side dish (which you can order for ¥200). One can’t eat slowly enough before the deliciousness is over 🥲🙏. I came early on a weekday to avoid lines but I ended up waiting because of it (I arrived too early 😅). Anyway, I’m eager to visit on a Sunday now to try the famous tuna bowl. The challenge is will I be able to find the time and energy to come out this direction again…

Donburi on on Sundays by registration system. Opens at 11 - when I arrived at 10:15 I was handed number 38 and told to come back around 12:30pm. I wasn't seated until about 12:55. So yeah, it's a bit of a process to get that donburi. The funny thing seems that you can get the same maguro sashimi on weekdays, it's just not "donburi" format. Would probably come back on a weekday if I was desperate for their tuna. All tuna is from wholesaler Isiji, so the CP is high. The most expensive donburi contains about 5 slices of akami and chutoro and 3 big slices of otoro.

Incredible experience, one more reason to come to Tokyo. Worth flying from Canada just for this treat. Thank you 🙏

A small tuna restaurant. This place is very popular with locals and be sure to queue up at least 30 minutes before the opening in order to be able to get in.
