We went to Tsunami over the weekend for the first time, and we loved it! I ordered the roasted sea bass on black Thai rice, and it is hands down one of my favorite seafood entrees I have ever had. The cocktails were great, and the desserts were delicious. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. Our server (I wish I knew his name!) was so nice and attentive during our entire dining experience. We went to Tsunami before attending a broadway show, and he was extremely thoughtful to ask what time our show started so that he could make sure we were finished with dinner in time. I highly recommend Tsunami!

Salmon and tuna special were fantastic, well balanced, flavorful, & inspired!! Love the classics as well calamari, ginger donuts & flourless chocolate cake. Service was exemptions as always!!

Google
really fresh food, i splurged on the sea bass and it was worth it, crisped perfectly yet buttery soft underneath. it’s not exactly spicy asian food but more fine dining westernized with asian influence - so know that going in. either way if this type of cusine is your cup of tea you will love it. my wife had the tofu but the only thing she didn’t like was it came out as a big steak tofu rather than smaller pieces we were used to

I love this place. The food is so unique for Memphis. The flavors are divine, the seafood is fresh, and the service and atmosphere are wonderful. Jannica is amazing. Best cocktail prices in town too!

We attended a dinner here for a group of 26. The food and drinks were exquisite and the service was exceptional. The staff was highly responsive to diners with special dietary needs. Highly recommended.

This was a big let down for us. Our waitress was geeta but the food was average at best.

Google
Very chic establishment in the heart of Cooper-Young. The server was attentive and the drinks were stiff. I thoroughly enjoyed the spicy potstickers and bacon wrapped dates. The meatballs were good as well.

Google
Exceptional, we loved it! We have the meatball appetizer (yum) and the potstickers - the dough was light and buttery and the potstickers were just the right amount of spicy. My son had the black bean soup, it was such a lovely creamy texture. I had the sea bass, it was cooked perfectly. My fam said the fish tacos were awesome, and I tasted the pasta myself, it was perfect! Desert was also amazing - we shared the creme brulee and the carrot cake was perfect. Our only critique was the flourless chocolate cake, it was a little too cocoa flavored, not rich, more bitter. I stand by "exceptional" because that one flub had no affect on our enjoyment of the meal, the atmosphere, and the wonderful service!

Yelp
Beautiful interior, attentive staff, GREAT bartender and nice food quality. We sat at the bar, watching the amazing bartender do his thing and wait on us. Reservations are needed for busy days, but the bar is first come first serve.

Yelp
I love Tsunami. A great place to have a date night, even if it was with my dog. The staff is lovely and attentive. They even served my dog treats and water. The shrimp dumplings were delicious and I could have licked the soup bowl.

Yelp
Tsunami is a perfect date night restaurant. Seating is intimate, with artwork on the walls, professional servers, wonderful drinks, and come-back-for-it entrees. I have no negatives at all here. Not one. Book your reservation online and expect to be there for about 90 minutes. The pace is fine. Dining, so take your time. Pinch tiny bites of that delicious bread and butter it. Please try the sea bass with the black rice.

Yelp
After a long 11 hour drive to see my bestie in Memphis I was tired and hungry. Not wanting anything heavy as I needed sleep. My friend suggested Tsunami as he knows I have a love for wedge salads. It was the perfect place to end a long day. The service was amazing and we made new friends at the bar and reconnected with other friends. The menu looks pretty amazing and the daily specials are the highlight. I can't wait to return with a growling stomach and more energy. Service is superb!

Yelp
There's been a lot of recent hype about Tsunami, so we visited on Friday night. The dining room has a really cool vibe, but the acoustics are horrible, making it rather difficult to converse. The front of the house team works like well oiled machine, but our server was really not very good. We had to flag her down a couple of times. She asked my husband if we wanted another drink and then immediately left the table before I could say I wanted another, too. Never mind. We enjoy having cocktails and small plates, so we ordered 4 of the 6 appetizers and the glazed Tofu. The clams were very good, but I felt like everything else was average, at best and overpriced. I can't say we'd return.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing service with delectable seafood dishes. Great spot for a special dinner like anniversary or birthday because the vibe is very relaxed. (You aren't being hurried to order, eat and leave.) The small plate is actually medium sized -- plenty of food especially if you are getting appetizer/salad and want to leave room for dessert -- recommended!

Yelp
Really cute place. Seem to get busy quick, luckily we had a reservation. The lemongrass shrimp pasta was amazing, the sauce was so good. Perfect. The salmon was nice, too. Calamari wasn't my favorite as it seem to lack flavor outside of the sauce. Service was standard. Food came out in a decent time. We were here on a birthday outing and I indicated that when I made the reservation, the waitress even took a picture of use for me but no inquiry on why we were there. Thought that was interesting.

Yelp
Incredibly unique flavors -- sea bass sauce was unlike anything I've had and the combo with the rice and fish was amazing. Also had the mussels, calamari, dumplings, and scallops. Scallops were really good, calamari wasn't the most flavorful or crispiest I've had as the breading felt thick. Mussels were interesting, I didn't love the curry or sake but very unique! Dumplings were fine, not memorable but not bad. Also got the sorbet, very normal sorbet. They were out of ginger donuts but those sounded really good Overall a good meal, expensive but yummy! Would probably say the scallops and sea bass were the most worth it. Ambiance was nice, interesting decor and kind of dark but cute! Food came out incredibly fast

Yelp
Great seafood and tapas restaurant! Located in a cool artsy part of town, the setting is cozy and elegant, and the patio seating offers a great vantage point over the entire neighborhood. I first tried their Paloma drink special, not a fan. For appetizers I tried the bacon wrapped dates; very good, although they should use bigger Medjoul dates for this Spanish tapa. I also tried the glazed pork meatballs, not a fan either. My entree was the spice crusted seared tuna on wasabi cucumber salad, excellent! Creme brûlée for dessert was a good finish. This restaurant is pricier than Yelp rating of $$ seems to indicate. I give them five stars for the creative menu, and four for the execution.

Yelp
Great unique dining experience in Midtown Memphis. I took my wife here for her birthday a few weeks back, and I was impressed all around. Both the dining area and bar are great atmospheres. The bartender was outstanding as well; he made a great martini and provided great wine recommendations. Our server was equally outstanding. The food was also great. Classic American dining with a hip, Asian touch. I highly recommend for a special occasion or date night.

Yelp
5 stars for service. Our waiter, Jeff, was spectacular and that is an understatement. He knew the menu A-Z and explained it without being condescending. He offered great suggestions on what to order. He was never intrusive: he knew when to talk to us and when to give us space. He treats the people at his tables as guests and friends and not just numbers on a table roster. He was genuinely nice; it wasn't plastic small talk. 3.5 stars for the food. The sea bass was perfection. Full stop. Buttery, flaky, flavorful, crispy. Perfect. The sauce was a tad salty for my personal taste but it was a good counterbalance with the blackened sticky rice. The sea bass itself did not need the sauce. The spicy shrimp potstickers were spicy with flavor and not spicy with added seasoning. (This was perfect for me as I do not like it when food is so spicy that my mouth is on fire.) Just drizzle the soy sauce over the potstuckers for an added punch of flavor. Dunking the potstickers in the soy sauce overwhelms the flavor of the filling. The black bean soup was rather bland and needed a pinch of salt. We paired it with their fresh baked bread and that enhanced the flavor. Be sure to add some of the scallions to each bite of calamari with the aioli. It adds a pleasant, unexpected flavor. Bonus: there are very few tentacle pieces in the calamari. The ginger doughnuts were rather nondescript. They are essentially warm cake with ice cream. However, if you really like coconut, these are worth trying. Creme Brule. Perfection. Really, it was perfect. We loved how thin the caramelized crust was and, unlike too many restaurants, the pastry chef didn't go crazy with his blowtorch. Just enough for the crunch-in-your-mouth feel. And the custard... in a word or two... so good!

Yelp
Our favorite place in Cooper-Young! The Sea Bass is the best I've ever had - from the East Coast to the West Coast to the "Third" Coast! You will NOT be disappointed in the food or the service! Pricey? A bit. But not inordinately so.

Yelp
The food was fantastic. Expertly prepared sea bass and the beurre blanc was light and perfectly balanced. Our server was so attentive and friendly. Loved every moment of this dining experience.

Yelp
In the spirit of full disclosure: I almost never leave reviews, I simply don't care enough to take the time. I make an exception here! I can do a business dinner at most restaurants in town. I am totally ok with it and I think they do a decent job. Tsunami sets high expectations but fails to deliver in legendary ways! I had a bad feeling immediately as we walked in. Sticky floors, unappealing smell, I knew we should have walked right out of there. The rest was downhill from there. Cutting to the chase: the food is flavorless and basically inedible. The chef is fixated on cheap cabbage and 1000-Islands dressing that are used everywhere. Prices are disproportionate for the quality. You can get better food, literally anywhere for a small fraction of the price. My conclusions: tsunami is run as a pure money-making operation with zero care or passion for food. I would humbly suggest to at least run a floor cleaning machine once a week. The floor is almost as disgusting as the food!

Yelp
This establishment needs but one word!!! "EPIC" By far the best service, presentation, quality of the food and creative pairing I have ever. experienced since moving to Memphis! Compliments to our chef and waitperson...I arrived late so if he introduced himself it was before I arrived. THEE best meal I have had in Memphis over the past 2.5 years hands down...splurge and order the Seabass...it was expensive and worth every penny! I swear it!!

Yelp
A gem of a restaurant. Always fantastic, always delicious. Perhaps the freshest and best prepared fish dishes in town. I haven't had anything that wasn't delicious. The people are lovely and the service is attentive. The setting is intimate and great for having a date or double date.

Yelp
Tsunami is somewhat of a hidden Memphis treasure. Though it's right in the heart of the Cooper-Young district, it can look like a blip, when you're driving down Cooper Street. However, in my humble opinion, this restaurant is no blip on the radar. It's a tsunami. It's a cozy spot for a nice date night or maybe a little pre-gaming at the bar. It's a total neighborhood favorite. The service is such that you feel like you're at home and everyone is family. Very easygoing atmosphere with nicely muted lighting. The food does not disappoint. Many dishes are Asian-inspired, like the wasabi deviled eggs. They offer small plates and regular entrees. This is a good restaurant for fish dishes. It's a place where you won't leave totally stuffed and weighed down, but your culinary needs will still be completely satisfied. Oh. The desserts are pretty good. Including sorbets, crème brûlée and chocolate stout cake. The patio is intimate, yet fun for people watching. This restaurant is a total win in my humble opinion!! Put it on your radar!

Yelp
It had been a while since we had eaten at Tsunami, but it is still our favorite restaurant in Memphis. Food, service and atmosphere are great. Very attentive staff and were quick to accommodate a request. We had salads that were good and ordered the Tsunami style oysters Rockefeller which were some of the best I have ever had. Also had the Spicy shrimp potstickers and as always the Sake steamed mussels in Thai red curry sauce with extra bread so I didn't leave any of the delicious broth. Finished the meal with my favorite dessert at Tsunami the Ginger donuts with coconut sorbet which I tell all my friends is the best dessert in Memphis. It is so awesome that Ben Smith has been able to maintain this level of food and service since 1998.

Yelp
One of my favorites. Wonderful ambience. Great menu. Over the top service, food is superior. Good wine list.

Yelp
Fish tacos are a must! They were so fresh and tasty. The service was great, everyone was so friendly and the staff wore masks which made us feel very comfortable as many places in Memphis did not seem to be enforcing masks. We will definitely be back when we visit Memphis again in the future :) Thank you!

Yelp
Top notch, great food & great service. Shrimp Pasta & Tuna Dishes are terrific and the Ginger Donuts are the best dessert in the planet! AAA+++

Yelp
Had a wonderful dinner prior to the Symphony. Food was delicious! Service was excellent! Will definitely be going back! Order the Crème Brûlée it's awesome, perfect shell with an awesome almost patisserie cream.

Yelp
With full confidence, I can say you will have a Taste Experience at Tsunami. Each dish is artfully and thoughtfully prepared, and the waitstaff is professional and knowledgable. Maybe it goes unsaid, however, the idea with Tsunami is not to gorge oneself. The portions are modest. In fact, I encourage visitors to order a few different items to share because of the exquisite Taste Experience. My party of three started with the bacon wrapped dates that, I swear to god, melted in our mouths. We also enjoyed red curry mussels and wasabi deviled eggs. I expected to enjoy the mussels and dates but whoa: the slight tinge of wasabi with the cool, smooth egg yolk are matches made in Heaven. You will be pleasantly surprised. We followed that up with the red snapper and red pepper sauce along with the saucy shrimp. I found the shrimp slightly tough, but the snapper was divine. Tsunami is a reward: go treat yourself!

Yelp
We've been going to Tsunami since they opened over 20 years ago. Have spent many a special dinner there. 2-tops and 10-tops. We, of course, had old favorites. When the menu changed during COVID, the first time we went back, it was a bit disconcerting. But our last trip just drove home the point to us of how special a place Ben Smith has put together. From the new Executive Chef de Cuisine to the the familiar faces of the wait staff. Our waiter pointed us to a new oven-prepared oyster dish. She was spot on. It was absolutely devine. Its now on our new-favorites list!

Yelp
This was opening night for Waitress at the Orpheum and we decided to dine at Tsunami. It was another GREAT Dining Experience!!! The food is consistently OUTSTANDING; presentations that catch the eye with unique little details and flavor profiles that excite your taste buds and warm the soul. By the way, the menu says Small Plates, but the serving are really a bit more than a medium-size plate. Service is always friendly, engaging, and professional; even on a busy night. For dinner we enjoyed: Crispy Calamari with Chipotle aioli, Black Bean Soup with Smoked Chile Cream, Whole-leaf Caesar Salad with Garlic Croutons (a unique presentation of a classic salad), Seared Sea Scallops with Bangkok Curry and Black Thai Rice, and a Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée (it was HEAVENLY).

Yelp
I feel compelled to leave this review so that there's an opinion other than what I've seen written. The service was good, props to our waitress who checked on us and was very attentive throughout our meal. However the food was underwhelming. We got the calamari and the meatballs for appetizers. Calamari was not fresh. The pieces of meat were very small, but the overall portion was large. The batter had little seasoning/flavor, but the sauce was good. We did not finish the calamari. The meatballs were small, about the size of a quarter. The flavor was good, but not great. It didn't seem like there was much thought or care in the meatballs. Entrees were: (the famous) roasted sea-bass ($40), roasted salmon($24), and fish tacos ($24). The sea-bass seemed pan fried in a good bit of oil, or otherwise "roasted" in oil. It was hard to shake the oil. The sauce on the bass was tasty. The portion was small, hard to determine size but we guess under 4oz. We peaked at another table's coming out, it seemed larger. The roasted salmon was cooked in a similar fashion. It was hard to taste the salmon from the oil. The polenta was tasty, the green beans were cooked well. The red sauce we did not like, it was lacking flavor and a bit sweet. The fish tacos (2) were good but not worth $24. The small rice pilaf and black beans did not contribute much, but all was eaten to satisfy the hunger. All-in-all, I appreciate the effort that was made by the front staff and the kitchen, but we won't be returning.

Yelp
For a restaurant that I fell in love with the first time I came, I have really been disappointed as of late at Tsunami (and well, really the entire Cooper Young area but that's for a different time). During this last experience, I took a good friend of mine and her family here to celebrate her graduation because she loves Asian Fusion seafood, but I was left wanting much more. Three of us at the table ordered the Lemongrass Shrimp Pasta, and I swear there was maybe 15-20 pieces of penne pasta. 15-20. Are you kidding me, Tsunami? The shrimp were fantastic, as was the sauce actually, but you skimped out on the actual pasta...? That makes zero sense and comes across in really poor style. I'm a pretty slow eater, and I was done in 5-10 minutes tops. I legit stopped at McDonald's on the way home for some french fries to feel like I ate a full meal. I'm not sure what that's about, but I've had better portion sizes at fancy five-star restaurant x where you order a finger snack for $30. Though I've generally had good service there as well, that night wasn't all that great either. Lackluster all around. Must've been a bad night altogether. Get it together, Tsunami; I don't want to scratch y'all off the list of decent places to eat in Memphis.

Yelp
Attentive service, great food. What's not to love? My husband and I had a lively date night there, and although it was full it was still quiet enough we could enjoy our conversation. He had the Manhattan Cut steak ywith caramelized onion cream, mashed potatoes and green beans, and I had the seared shrimp with Brussels sprout risotto and smoked tomato beurre blanc. Our salads were a pretty tower of Bibb lettuce with blue cheese and vinaigrette. We also had their signature dessert, warm ginger donuts with coconut sorbet. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I just had dinner with an old friend at Tsunami this evening. And, if I were rating the venue, service, vibe they would get 5 stars - hands down. However, this review must include the food where there were some challenges. Our Beefeater gin martinis were awesome. With these drinks dinner began with an order of bacon wrapped dates. These treats were a tad too sweet and somehow did not work. They looked great but needed help. I then had fried calamari and their rendition of devilled eggs. Both items were 3 stars. Good food, nothing exciting. Don't see any reason to have these items again. We ordered a salad with intentions to split. It never came out of the kitchen? My friend had a steak. I tasted it and had to do a tad too much chewing. Will I eat here again? Maybe. Service and decor were wonderful. However, sometime you need to eat as well. If I do return it will be for lots of cocktails and a snack,

Yelp
My third time enjoying a great night at Tsunami and always amazed by Chef Ben's creations. Wildly friendly service compliments of Scarlett. She helped us with both wine selections and food ordering. Of course, you must order the sea bass! For dessert we also has the best coconut sorbet of my life. And then was taken on a private tour of the dining room and their art collection. Countless stories abound at this Memphis tradition. Even a honest to goodness ghost story! Thanks Tsunami!

Maggie F.

Yelp
I haven't lived in Memphis for years, but Tsunami was always one of my favorites. Went there again last night and had the best service from Jeff. The interior decor and art remain wonderful and whimsical. The list of cocktails had some interesting and creative choices. And the food was excellent, just like I remembered. We had the potstickers, meatballs, noodles, 2 different salads, and the fish special. Yum! Big thanks to Ben and his staff. Thank you for being a bright spot in the Memphis dining scene and Cooper Young community.

Yelp
Came here for dinner as some work colleagues were in town and this is the only restaurant I know of in Memphis that has Barramundi on it menu (which I wanted my European colleagues to try). Barramundi is a flake-y white fish, with a distinctly gentle taste, native to Australia and I lived in Oz for a number of years, so was excited about getting to eat Barramundi again. My one tip would be to make a booking, as this place got busy fast, and also pray to the parking gods as their side parking lot was full (and it's not massively big to begin with)! Anyway, since it was a work dinner, I didn't want to drink and got a virgin pomegranate cocktail ($4). It was just chockablock with ice, so the juice taste was really diluted albeit the fresh mint leaves were a drink-saver. Also, no sweet tea, instead you get regular tea and the sugar packets to sweeten the drink to your taste. We split one plate of Asian nachos ($12) as our starter. You could totally tell the crispy nachos were homemade and the tuna on top was EXCELLENT! The siracha and white sauce (not sure what this was) plus jalapeno all served to make this dish a great palate pleaser. For the mains, I got the Barramundi small plate ($20) and at my first bite, it took me right back to being back in Sydney, eating fish and chips by the beach, although this barramundi was a much fancier version of the humble fish n chips. It was pretty good and I loved the combination of corn it was served with. This dish also had a lovely spicy, tangy sauce and I wish there had been more of this on my plate! I also tried the spicy shrimp pasta from a co-diner. Loved the heat and seafood was perfectly cooked, but it didn't beat my Barramundi! Also, make sure you save room for dessert! Based on previous Yelp reviews, I went with Ginger donuts with coconut sorbet ($8). Despite best efforts, I couldn't finish and took one donut home to eat the next day, and 2 days later, the donut was still as good as when served piping hot to the table! I had a taste of the Chocolate stout cake ($8) too, but this was too stout-y tasting for me and I prefer to drink my Guinness, not mix it in cake. We had a really lovely time, even if the neighbourhood to get here was a little bit dodgy! I will absolutely return. Note: #155 of Yelp 100 challenge for 2016

Yelp
We decided to try Tsunami for my birthday because we had heard good things from my father-in-law's girlfriend. We are pretty lame and eat early so we made a reservation for 5:30 on a Thursday night. Upon arrival we noticed a great number of the staff were outside smoking and conversing. We decided to sit at the bar and have a few drinks before dinner, it took the bartender 10 minutes to come inside and take our orders. He did warm up to us later on but initially we didn't get the best impression. After that, we sat down for dinner and had two different waitresses who seemed a little in a rush. We had the wasabi deviled eggs, which were VERY good, as an appetizer. My husband ordered fish tacos and I got the tofu and vegetables. While waiting for our food to come out the waitress asked if we wanted bread and butter, which seemed a bit random, but we said yes. It was quite good but never got refilled and we were kind of confused by the concept? Anyways, our food comes out and both of us were underwhelmed. My $20 tofu and vegetables plate was subpar and mushy, it also really lacked flavor. My husbands fish tacos were also very underwhelming. All in all we were just disappointed. We chose this place thinking they would treat us a little nicer and that the food would be good. I do not think we'll be back.

Yelp
This is an excellent restaurant that tries to accommodate those of us with food allergies. Hard-to-find in restaurants, even today. The service is excellent, the food is delicious. I had the tuna with wasabi dressing and cucumber salad and my husband had the scallops. The seafood was cooked perfectly, and very high-quality. The flavors were really delicious. For dessert we had the root beer float with coconut cream sorbet. I walked away a happy camper and so thankful that they graciously made some changes to my main course to make it something that I could have. Thank you so much, Tsunami, for helping my husband and I have a wonderful, worry-free, allergy-wise, date night at a lovely place -- loved the ambiance and the art on the walls. We will be back.

Yelp
What a wonderful dining experience. This was a find based on yelp reviews, and my correspondence with Memphis yelper Jolynna M. ....Thanks!!! This restaurant offers small plates, half portions, and full entrees. The four of us ordered what we each wanted, and judging by the portions, we were all satisfied. The presentation was impressive, as was the quality. Starters/small plates we ordered included: Sizzling shrimp, $10; Shrimp toast, $9; and Black bean soup, $7. Small portioned plates ordered: Scallops, $16; Flank steak, $18; Salmon, $16; and Mahi mahi, $17. Dessert ordered for the four of us were two orders of their Stout cake, $8. Prices were reasonable. There was a good selection of wines by the glass, mostly at $8. We were pretty well taken care of by our waiter. Bottom line: I'd return.

Yelp
The sea bass here is IN-CREDIBLE. I'd been to Tsunami several times before I tried the sea bass and it was already one of my favorites, but now it's up there in my top two. I've gone all over Memphis looking for sea bass as delicious as Tsunami's and guess what? It's not here, folks. This restaurant has a great, upscale vibe and I love to take out of town guests here. The food and ambiance never disappoint. It's not too pricey, either, especially considering I would probably empty out my bank account for the sea bass alone. Small plates are also offered for those that may not want a full meal, and the selections are varied and yummy. A great place for a romantic date too, Tsunami also has a small patio.
google avatar

Richa S.

Yelp
Aptly as the name suggests, this place is a "Tsunami" of flavors, character and experience! With exposed brick walled interiors, warm cozy candle-lit ambiance, cool decor, an upscale urban aura, great menu featuring fresh seasonal ingredients and an excellent wine selection - Tsunami sure did feel like the right place to be at, for our celebrations! The service was spot on with pleasant, friendly staff who was super knowledgeable and the food, that was sumptuous! A concoction of Asian and French influence makes everything taste delightful and toothsome! (Undoubtedly, it is the best sea food restaurant in town!)

Andy E.

Yelp
I loved this place, the food was delicious and the service was great, all around 5 star rating.

Yelp
By far one of my all time favorites in Memphis. We come here for special occasions or to meet friends for a drink. We ate here the night we got engaged. I always get the small plates which change regularly. They are usually fish dishes. I recently got the sea bass with rice. I also like the shrimp potstickers app and the spinach salad. This is a rare find in the city and is not overly pricey.

Yelp
Memphis dining just doesn't get any better. Chef Ben Smith of Tsunami is a culinary talent our city is fortunate to have. As Tanya T already mentioned, the Sea Bass here is amazing. It is, hands down, the best I've ever had. It's roasted (perfectly) and served on a bed of black rice with a soy beurre blanc sauce. It's rich, yet subtle and the flavors come together in a manner nothing short of perfection. You'll also want to try the "Izakaya" (ee-ZAH-key-ah) which is basically Japanese tapas -.wonderful little nibbles like Asian Nachos, Bacon Wrapped Dates and (my favorite) Wasabi Peas. All served on small plates to pass around and share with your friends. Another personal favorite on the dinner menu is the Spicy Seafood Tostada. It's served with the salsa of the day, black beans and chipotle cream sauce. It's delicious. Hats off to you, Chef Ben. My taste buds thank you.

Yelp
Exceptional in every way! Outstanding service, incredible food, style, execution. Let the chef prepare your meal with a few suggestions and you'll be amazed. Prices are more than reasonable and the wine list is one of the best values I've seen.

Yelp
Awesome meal and handling COVIlD-19 procedures very well. We had Jeff wait on us and he made me remember how much I have missed going out. Please go see them soon.

Yelp
Tsunami is located in Cooper Young, a Midtown neighborhood that's become burgeoning restaurant district in the last few years. It's become an intersection of international delights - within two blocks, you can eat Thai, Mexican, Irish, Japanese, Italian, French, low country and soul food. Tsunami serves Pacific Rim cuisine, which means that the menu contains lot of seafood and Asian-inspired dishes. Every night, there's a rotating list of "small plates", which are slightly smaller meals that are less expensive than regular entrees. Don't be fooled by the name, though - the small plates will easily fill you up. I had the pan-seared salmon with a Portobello mushroom and bleu cheese. The salmon was perfect in its simplicity - the only seasoning was some sea salt. The grilled mushroom was fresh and juicy, and though I can't tell you what was in it, that sauce was amazing. Last night, there was also a menu of small side items, all less than $6. You can't go wrong with the bacon-wrapped dates or Asian nachos. Right now, Colleen and her husband, chef / co-owner Ben Smith are doing some work on the restaurant. They're adding a bar and turning the banquet room into a lounge. Despite the dust, they're still open for dinner nightly.
