"Tucker’s has been Alameda’s sweet treat stop since 1941, and still hosts endless date nights, post-soccer game hangs, and birthday parties. Their mantra, “Life is uncertain, eat dessert first,” is written on the wall above the register—it's the kind of peer pressure we don't mind giving in to. They’re pumping out fresh waffle cones and thick scoops of ice cream daily (when in doubt, go cookie mint crunch). And while you wait, take part in another quintessential Alameda activity: perusing the wall of Tucker’s-sponsored youth sports team plaques on the wall to see if you happen to recognize anyone.  " - julia chen 1, lani conway

Tucker's is a beloved gem in Alameda and has been a long-standing tradition for our family. My husband grew up enjoying Tucker's, and now we've continued the tradition with our children. The flavor selection is incredible—there hasn’t been a single one we didn’t enjoy. Whether you're staying to savor your ice cream in the charming shop or strolling through Alameda's quaint downtown, the experience is always delightful. The vibe is welcoming and nostalgic, perfect for creating lasting memories. And don’t miss their fresh-made, chocolate-covered waffle cones—they’re worth the trip alone! Tucker’s truly embodies everything you want from a local, family-run ice cream parlor: exceptional quality, friendly service, and a touch of magic. Highly recommend!

Google
Tucker’s Ice Cream in Alameda was the perfect dessert place! They were busy but the line moved quick. I ordered a classic…banana split…which equally matched the classic vibe of this ice cream place. What nostalgia & what great experience! Nothing beats classic taste! 🍨😋

Google
Fun ice cream parlor. There was a little wait. They offer too many flavors! I had a hard time deciding on one!

Google
Love the nostalgic feeling and look and it was fun but I had better ones and more flavourful ones like the Mexican ice cream in Livermore. Overall it was really nice to try it.

This team delivers high quality, reasonably priced food products every time. They are courteous and efficient. My family and I have enjoyed the Tucker’s ice cream experience many times for the past eleven years. Their mint chocolate chip ice cream is angel food 😋🥳 Enjoy!!

Tucker's Ice Cream has a classic ice cream parlor vibe that's undeniable. The atmosphere was cute and nostalgic, and the place was packed when we went there on the weekend. Even the wooden spoons that they give with the ice cream reminded me of the good old days. Service was friendly and fast. There were multiple people at the counter helping out different groups. They have quite a few flavors, and you can try out these flavors before settling on one (two or however many you like). I can never eat a lot of ice cream, so I really liked that they had a baby scoop option size. Other serving sizes are single scoop, double scoop, junior scoop, double junior scoop, and baby scoop. Now, the important part: the ice cream itself. It was decent! The fruity flavors were definitely on the mild side. The ice cream was creamy and flavorful, with a decent variety of classic and unique options. However, I wouldn't say it blew me away. I've had richer, more intense ice cream experiences elsewhere.

I visited Tucker's a couple of times in the past, but my most solid experience is recently, when they catered my Houseaversary party. Erika was friendly, helpful, and professional from start to finish, and I give her many thanks! Before the catering I went for a tasting. There are so very many flavors to choose from, so the tasting really helped me (and a couple of friends) narrow it down to five flavors. Erika and her helper showed up on time, scooped amazing ice cream flavors for two hours, and really helped make my party something extra special. Mint chip used to be my favorite flavor, but after trying their chocolate and peanut butter, I have to say I prefer to mix those two together. Everything is the right amount of creamy, with solid amounts of chips and chunks were needed. I'll definitely be back!

Update; The cake artist is fantastic! Aria can make you a minty behemoth of a cake with Oreo catastrophe! She was super professional and explained the process and the prices. Everything was like a piece of art. I am excited to buy a cake for my next event. Thanks Aria! Lots of great flavors. My rocky road was kind of basic. Next time I will ask them to make it with fresh ingredients separately. They have clean restrooms and seating outside. Milkshakes and splits and take home cartons galore. Really good waffle cones too. And they do some work with the community obviously because it's Alameda so thats nice too. A great place for ice cream. Enjoy

Yelp
I've heard this place is a staple so had high hopes. It's more of an old school vibe here, and on this Saturday night, there was a huge line. I really wish these joints that experience long lines have some sort of menu that's visible further down the line so we have something to look at. I hate it when people get to the front and take forever to order, especially after they have to sample like 5 different flavors. I get anxious when I get to the front. I just went for the tried and true pistachio. The kiddos went for standard choco chips. Mines was good. Nothing too memorable, but better than average. I'm not sure if I was feeling the vibe in this place though. I'm more of a McConnell's type, but for sure I'll always recommend a neighborhood ice cream joint.

Yelp
Tucker's has been around forever, and while the ice cream itself is good, it's not great. I'm not a fan of super creamy ice cream, but that's just my preference. The bigger issue is the overall experience of getting ice cream here. First, when dining in, the ice cream is often slightly melted and drippy. It's not the end of the world, but it does take away from the enjoyment. Second, the interior is long overdue for some care. The space is huge and has so much potential, but it feels neglected. The tables are often sticky, and the whole place could use both a deep clean and a refresh. It's disappointing because it could be such a great spot to enjoy a treat and to enjoy time with friends, family, and neighbors. Third, the service has been consistently indifferent for as long as I can remember. It doesn't seem to matter who's working--there's a general lack of warmth or engagement, and sometimes interactions can even feel a little rude. A small dose of friendliness would go a long way in making the experience better. If you like the ice cream here, I'd recommend skipping the in-store experience altogether and just grabbing a pint from the freezer cases to go. That way, you avoid the melty scoops and minimize any interaction with the staff.

Yelp
This review is for two different visits recently. The first time, I tried both the honey lavender, which is quite sweet and honestly tastes more like sweet cream with hints of lavender, and the marble butterscotch which is also really sweet. I ultimately opted to get the honey lavender, single scoop in a cup. It's soft and smooth in texture, and I feel Tucker's single scoop size is quite large, so maybe a junior scoop would've actually been adequate for anyone not looking for a large treat. The second time, I tried the pistachio, pumpkin cheesecake, strawberries and cream, toasted almond, strawberries and cream, and toasted almond before deciding what to get. Pistachio - you can taste the actual pistachio, which I thought was nice for texture. Pumpkin cheesecake - quite sweet, and actually surprisingly sour. It was a stronger-tasting flavor than I expected. Strawberries and cream - very sweet, it's more like vanilla cream with strawberry jam on it. Toasted almond - quite nutty, I liked it a lot as it was sort of savory but also sweet. I ultimately opted for a double junior scoop of pumpkin cheesecake and toasted almond and was pleasantly surprised by how much ice cream they packed in. The workers have been friendly and patient, and did not put any limit on how many samples I could get. They also have a few seasonal flavors that change periodically. There's a lot of indoor tables including an upstairs level, but not any outdoor tables that seem to belong directly to Tucker's; however, if you walk just a short distance, you can easily find benches along the street.

Yelp
I love a good ice cream, especially if it's got local flavor and some quirks. Tucker's fits the bill. Along Park Street in Alameda, the space looks like an old Spanish villa and they got some quirky signs and slogans ("Life is short, eat dessert first"). And the ice cream is great! I got the fudge brownie on a cake cone - smooth, creamy with big chewy chunks of brownie. It was so smooth, they had to put it in a cup with the cone atop like a hat. I also noticed their "baby cones" which are tiny little cones for babies. That's cool. A nice cap to the evening, if you're traveling through Alameda, stop at Tucker's for a fun ice cream stop!

Yelp
Tucker's in Alameda, CA, is a classic ice cream spot that's become a staple in the community. Their ice cream is incredibly creamy and rich, making it a treat we look forward to each time we visit our family in Alameda. The ambiance is charmingly old school, housed in a Spanish-style two-story building that adds to its nostalgic appeal. The service is great--simple and efficient, with friendly staff scooping up your favorite flavors. But the real star here is the ice cream itself. If you're in Alameda, a trip to Tucker's is a must. It's simply great!

Monica A.

Yelp
The ice cream is yummy but the pricing is insane. I literally get double the amount for the same price in my hometown which is also in the Bay Area. I'm not saying I should get double the amount I simply saying that they have a lot of room for improvement.

Lloyd C.

Yelp
It's been a while since we've been back, as my wife doesn't live in East Bay anymore. But Tucker's is near and dear to her heart. They have been serving the community since 1941. Amazing! Their ice cream is creamy, smooth, and rich. Old fashion classic flavors. They have other specialty items Light house music playing. Old rustic decor. Several tables inside to sit at. Both a men and women's restrooms are available.

Erica Y.

Yelp
I love their salted butter caramel ice cream!!! And I love how they hand scoop pack you pints. So worth the $9 for good quality ice cream. They also allow samples which I'm so grateful for so I can know for sure I like it before committing to the whole thing. I'm dying to come back!

Karl A.

Yelp
I feel like a kid again! Tuckers took me back 30 years! The smell of the waffle cones coming in was a game changer! I got bubblegum ice cream in the waffle cone. It was everything I remember! It was delicious and nostalgic all at the same time! Great ice cream, great service!

Yelp
I came in w/my family as my mom was craving ice cream. She loves ice cream. This was our first time at Tuckers. She got her go-to flavor she gets all the time at other ice cream shops. The rest of us didn't get ice cream but we joined her at a table and I noticed she wasn't really eating her ice cream. She said it was wayy too sweet and was going to throw it away. I went up to tell one of the workers and took her cup with me to see if she could get a different flavor. The girl asked who had helped my mom. I don't know why this would be relevant? but I told them who but I guess that person had just left for the day. Anyways, the gal said yes she could get another flavor and asked what she would like. I went to tell my mom but she declined as she got the impression that all of their flavors were too sweet here. The girl said she could try some samples. My mom tried their coconut and said it was much better. The gal gave her a scoop of that instead. If you're visiting here, make sure to try samples first :)

Yelp
THE CHO-CHO SONG Sing to the tune of Row Your Boat Cho-Cho, chocolate malt, Heaven on a stick! Honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly, It's worth every lick! Service was great, will come back! And if you crave vintage treats, do not pass up the Cho-Cho!

Maddie X.

Yelp
Staple ice cream shop in Alameda! There's usually a line here but it moves quick and there's lots of seating inside. The staff is very friendly and patient when sampling different flavors. I got a single scoop of the tin roof sundae (vanilla with chocolate swirl and chocolate covered almonds) 10/10 recommend!! They're really generous with their scoops and prices are good at $5 for a single scoop.

Anandita S.

Yelp
We came here after dinner, and this is one of my favourite ice cream shops. The staff is super friendly and very patient and definitely personalise your order calmly. This is a super cute little spacious ice cream shop. Must try if you're in the area.

Yelp
Tucker's--an Alameda icon that has lost its charm? I came in mid-week late afternoon recently, after not having come in since pre-COVID, and immediately noticed a huge difference in the atmosphere upon walking in. Dirty, chipping stone floors, messy cake display, dimly lit interior, and an overall dungeon-like feeling. Even the smell of fresh cones didn't seem as inviting anymore. Gone is the open, bright, and lively (even when it's empty) ice cream shop I once knew. Not only that, the service--oh, gosh--the service was terrible. The young man who was on shift seemed displeased to be at work. He replied with sarcasm and annoyance as my group ordered two single scoop cones. What I can say is that the ice cream is still delicious. Super creamy, tasty and great flavors! I had the honey lavender flavor which I hadn't tried yet. Surprisingly it was delicious. A new modern classic, up there with flavors iconic as vanilla or coffee. That said, it's not great enough to make me want to come back in with my family. Tucker's isn't what it used to be!

Binh T.

Yelp
Wow these were big scoops, but were also very expensive. I like the line move fast, they gave me a lot of samples, and fresh made waffles on the spot. I took most of it home, because it started melting in my hand. Lucky we found parking a block away. Friendly service.

JoAnn S.

Yelp
Excellent ice cream!!! I love the ambiance! There is a lot of history at Tuckers. It has been in Alameda since 1941!!! Tuckers have been supportive of youth athletes since the 40s. Besides scoops of ice cream, one can get a banana split or a coffee-ice cream drink. You can get a frozen banana dipped in chocolate or covered with almonds or sprinkles. There are vegan options, too. Also, the time before, I had their waffle cone--it was freshly made and crisp!

R P.

Yelp
Tucker's is a better alternative to Baskin's. Pretty huge caveat: how do you run out of chocolate ice cream?

Yelp
A chocolate malt as my dessert was the highlight of my Friday and a soothing comfort after my tooth extraction. Of course, the short line moved quickly and a table was available in the nook so my pal and I could enjoy quiet conversation. My only disappointment was fav flavor -- macapuno -- wasn't being offered.

Bri W.

Yelp
Tuesday, 8/14, @2ish in the afternoon, looove supporting Tucker's because of the hardworking young staff. Good luck in school and all your future endeavors!! Always such a treat to grab a seasonal flavored scoop such as honey lavender, peppermint fudge, or my current t FAVVVV, Butter Beer :-)) I appreciate how patient the staff is when grown adults and their entire family take the upside down chairs off of tables on the promenade around closing time. It's common sense, if a chair is upside down on a table and the sign says this area is closed... that means grab your ice cream and find a different location and if the ice cream parlor is packed. Take a hike!!! Love how clean the tables are usually except for when kids and grown adults leave ice cream streaks or drips all over the table for someone else to clean up their mess like me or another random stranger or the busy bee workers. It's usually super loud in tuckers because of those energetic, pesky kiddos with sugar in their veins. Thanks for working so diligently you all!! Cheers!!!

Stephen F.

Yelp
19:00-2 Aug. '24-Don't let the long queues dissuade you. The staff work very hard and efficiently, so the line goes fast. Ice cream is so good here so it's worth the wait and the price. You can also order a slice of ice cream cake. Very popular place. Lots of seating inside. Building appears historical. Don't miss this place if you have a sweet tooth and a hankering for yummy ice cream!

Jeanne W.

Yelp
We are big fans of Tucker's for years and come out to Alameda for the ice cream from the peninsula area. Today I got pistachio flavor and my husband got Heath bar crunch flavor. We noticed none of those have any flavors. It was very disappointing. Someone might not follow the recipe or something. Hopefully it won't be disappointing next time.

Juliet T.

Yelp
No samples allowed. My friends and I finished dinner nearby and walked over to Tucker's Ice Cream. The building itself seems a bit old, but it gives that homey/nostalgic vibe! The line can build up, but it goes by pretty quickly. I ordered the Pralines and Cream kids scoop. The ice cream is creamy and thick enough to not melt immediately. The kid's scoop is $1 less than the regular, but it's enough ice cream for me to be content!

Michele R.

Yelp
Walked the beach and then went downtown for ice cream. Super friendly and quick service even with a line, seems everyone had the same idea Was a tad load and chaotic inside but to be expected on a nice day at the ice cream parlor. Ordered: Burgundy Cherry

Rianna G.

Yelp
A historical place serving housemade ice cream. My friends and I arrived to Tucker's Sunday night in hopes of getting our ice cream cravings satiated. We didn't have to wait to long as they had plenty of workers available. The Tin Roof Sundae was very creamy and flavorful with vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup and almonds! I got a kids scoop, which was more than enough for me! It's also about a dollar cheaper than the single scoop, so I was satisfied! It melted at a slower pace than other ice creams, which I liked since we sat down and talked. I think they could have more sitting areas since it was a relative larger building with two floors, but the second floor seemed to primarily serve as storage areas; maybe it's for the best so that their customer don't get hurt! Overall, Tucker's is great for some quick ice cream on a late night in Alameda.

Chloe C.

Yelp
Very solid ice cream option on Alameda's main street. We went on a Friday night and the line was huge. The kids that worked there were, however, very efficient and helpful. I got the pralines and cream, and liked it very much. The ice cream is very rich so you don't need a lot of it to satisfy your sweet tooth in my opinion. I got a junior scoop with no cone for $5.50 I believe and the person I was with got an Oreo shake for about $8. So, it's not exactly cheap but I guess that's just the going rate these days.

Jessica K.

Yelp
I have been to tuckers multiple times, as most people have. I love walking into an ice cream shop and smelling the waffle cones. I'm not going to get a waffle cone, but I still want to smell them lol Every time we go, the employees are kind of lazy, kind of slow. Maybe it's because we're going at night and they just want to GTFO. But we're still paying customers and we're in a good mood. Please pretend you are too lol Either way. We'll always come back, because you know. Tuckers.

Brotha S.

Yelp
Normally I wouldn't get waffle cone. Man law!!!! (You don't have to understand, just follow the rules ) But when I walked into this spot that waffle cone smelt just like the front entrance of Willy Wonkas house, if I'd ever been there. Point being, It's smelt really good. So I got 2 scoops, butter pecan and pecan praline, best choices I could've made. If your Alameda and looking for some ice cream, this spot to go to.

Mariah S.

Yelp
Came in on a Thursday night and it wasn't busy. The crowds definitely come in waves because as we were leaving a flood of ppl started to come in. There's a little bit of seating available but we opted to take ours to go. Service is quick and the employees are so nice. You're allowed to try flavors (there's a lot lol) and take your time. There's multiple workers ready to help you out when you are. They also have pints of ice cream in a freezer available to purchase.

World T.

Yelp
My daughter and I were hankering for a little bit of ice cream after lunch and walked around the corner and there was Tucker's ice cream. It was a little harder to find and I thought because the front door is in a bit from the street. Entering there was a typical sour milk smell, but we know that's why it is with ice cream. The entry, and the premises is very nice, and the scooper was a friendly fellow. They also serve other things besides ice cream. We shared a double scoop of coffee, brittle, and Heath crunch. The coffee was really good but the Heath bar crunch was a lot more ice cream and not very many Heath bar bits. The double scoop with tip came out to nine dollars. We sat and ate our ice cream. The ice cream is really creamy.

Amelia D.

Yelp
We walk in and are greeted the warm smell of freshly made ice cream cones, and we know we have gone to the right place. They have a small baby scoop, a junior scoop and a regular scoop (listed in order of size) which is perfect for when you just want a little bit of ice cream. I got a junior scoop with two flavors as seen below - chocolate peanut butter and mint chocolate chip, my favorite. My friend got birthday cake which she believes is a classic. Before choosing our scoops, We tried some interesting ice cream flavors like Zinfandel make with actual wine as well as honey lavender. I like the combination of classic and original flavors.

Yelp
WHEN: Tuesday @12:30pm Just finished lunch nearby and thought "It's been years since I've been to Tucker's!" And I'm actually going even though yes, I have ice cream at home. Even through my n95 mask I can smell the freshly baked waffle cones! I really wish their menu had pricing because it seems they have so many options in scoop sizes. The old me would have been that annoying customer who will ask how much is for what size, but I'm finally at a place in my life where I don't need to know. I'm living a little and treating myself! Besides, I'm more than happy to support a local biz! Okay I went online and found their pricing, meaning you can order online! SINGLE SCOOP - $4.50 DOUBLE SCOOP - $6.25 Anyway, I'm really proud of myself for not taking forever to decide on the flavor. I went with: COOKIE MINT CRUNCH - $4.50 (Single Scoop) Mint ice cream base with added Oreo cookie chucks mixed throughout. Oh man definitely a must if you are a mint chocolate chip lover. I got the single scoop which was a huge generous scoop. With the WAFFLE CONE ($1.25) The Waffle cone was so amazing--it was light, crispy, and the scent is so damn amazing. It tastes how it smells! I highly rec getting your ice cream served in a waffle cone--its fun and so damn good! Not gonna lie, ever since that day, I kept thinking about that ice cream cone, I knew I need to come back. And I did that exactly one week later. This time I got: COFFEE BREAK - $4.50 (Single Scoop) Coffee ice cream with Oreo cookie chucks folded. I got a whole cookie! It was delicious but I will say the Mint Cookie Crunch was more refreshing but sadly they didn't have it--just the Mint Chocolate Chip. What I found weird was when I was asked if I will be taking my order for her or to-go. At first I didn't know the difference until the second time. Here's what it is: Dine-In (here) - Tax is added Order To-Go - No tax Yeah, I don't get it either. Anyway, love this place, there's plenty of seating indoors, and a shared area for seatings outside around the corner.

Wing L.

Yelp
Eh I feel like this ice cream shop declined in quality and I feel like I have a better experience at Loard's or even Baskin Robbins. Unfortunately they don't allow you to sample the flavors anymore and the pistachio flavor I got tasted super medicinal. I didn't even eat the scoop. The coffee break was pretty good though although next time I think I'd opt for the regular coffee flavor. Also it's a race against time for the ice cream vs cone bc there is a hole in the bottom of mine and my other two friends cone so it's a pretty messy experience. Cone didn't have too much flavor or the fragrance so I'm kinda disappointed in that....cones at Baskins is way better

Nadav M.

Yelp
I don't know much about this place but looks and feels authentic in character and style. Not too big in dessert and ice cream but there's always room for some sweetness in life. Tuckers seems to be an Alameda gem as I heard and seen that the food is made on premises. I did see many cones and drippings of dough and hard sugary waffle cones. See photos provided. I'm a very basic guy when it comes to flavours. I'm a vanilla and strawberry type of guy and both times I visited I had strawberry. The latest I had a waffle cone (the big one) with pure strawberry. The strawberry has fruit, which I like. There was no wait and this was around late afternoon on a Sunday. Service is always great as these young fellows are working and serving the people hard and being down to earth. And for the price and quality you are getting a Big Bang for your buck. Come chill on a warm day and take some time for yourself, with family, or friends. Enjoy your yum milk and sugar on a bench along Park Street or at a picnic table on Alameda Avenue. Bike parking available around downtown. Walking is doable. Nearest BART station is Fruitvale station and AC Transit lines 20, 21, 51A, 78, and O are accessible.

Lily S.

Yelp
Stepping into this local ice cream parlor feels like stepping back in time. It's a local hang out for families, couples, young and old. Besides scoops of ice cream, they also have ice cream cakes in a display case. They have all the classic flavors plus a few interesting ones like Honey Lavender, but nothing weird like some of modern ice cream shops. Their scoops are generous. There are tables and benches inside, and they also have a few tables outside in the back. This is a popular place on weekends, and everyone leaves with a smile.

Allen S.

Yelp
Tucker's is great for ice cream desserts. They have been on historic Park street since 1941. I like finding small businesses that have been around for a long time. I suggest you read the business info on Yelp. After lunch nearby, we stopped for ice cream. Today it was a scoop of mocha chip and vanilla. Vanilla ice cream can be mediocre but not at Tucker's. Think of creamy ice cream with great taste and that is what you will get. The mocha chip added additional flavor. We got one waffle cone to break apart and eat with our bowl. Tucker's mission to to give you great ice cream and support their local community. Yelp states they have find raising drives for local schools. This makes it easy to want to help Tucker's. We recommend you givenTicker's a try

Marlena B.

Yelp
The scenery is beautiful. I love the old building and fire place. Seating is unexpectedly open, but maybe that should have been my sign. I did not like the taste of my mocha almond fudge. My kids didn't care for their cookies and cream. Kids love ice cream, but we were all disappointed. Service was fast. They even cleaned the tables as soon as anyone got up. Hated the ice cream. 4 stars for service

Kaelin N.

Yelp
I've been going to Tucker's since I was a kid. No complaints and honestly best mocha almond fudge ever! It's so nostalgic coming here and the quality is still amazing!

Yelp
OVERVIEW Open since 1941, Tucker's Ice Cream is a Bay Area favorite if you're craving some ice cream on a hot and sunny day or for a simple pleasure you've been dying to have. This place is perfect to bring your friends and family and dive into an old-fashioned sweets galore. RESTAURANT You can find this shop on Park Street, in between Alameda and Central Ave. Behind the establishment, there is a paid parking lot but it is easy to find street parking in neighboring areas. The shop has a dining area in front and sometimes opens the second floor for seating (not sure after COVID). The line gets long throughout the day but is mostly a 15-20 wait on typical days. DESSERTS This place is very well known for their creamy ice cream, and the best thing is that their ice cream and not too sweet! On occasion, they will have special flavors you can choose from but I usually find myself stuck between those and the classic flavors. I've seen reviews where tasting was not allowed and I want to happily update that, with my recent visit, they let me taste test which flavors I wanted. Recommendations: - Banana Nut - Butter Pecan - Chocolate Fantasy - Mint Chip - Ube - Cookies n Cream (my all-time favorite, also when i get a shake) I felt that, if you recently had dinner, a double scoop would be too much and a single scoop is big enough to satisfy your need for sweets. Otherwise, ordering a shake would be a good way to slurp your ice cream up slow enough so you wouldn't get too bloated. Tuckers also offers to-go boxes (found in their fridges) if you wanted to buy some to take home! I've found that, unlike other ice cream I've bought, ice crystals do not form and they stay creamy. As a side note, They also serve ice cream cakes but I have not personally tried them yet but look forward to since their ice cream has stayed consistent, creamy, and good throughout the years I've been here.

Yelp
Tucker's is an alameda staple and I'm all about it. Whenever I'm craving ice cream after having dinner in Alameda, the answer is always Tucker's. It's everyone's answer, it seems, because whenever I've gone, it's busy. Everyone loves their ice cream! Even if it's cold outside. They have a lot of flavors to choose from - some that are regulars and others that are seasonal. I'm waaaaiting for the Tiger Tail (I think that was the name) to come back. It was an orange flavor with chocolate. Sometimes I'll go for the waffle cone. The smell of them baking it is just so tempting. Besides ice cream, they have other desserts as well: frozen bananas, malts, ice cream cakes, etc. There's also a lot of seating both inside and outside on their back patio. They do have some of the seating areas blocked off sometimes. I'm not sure why but I think it'd be helpful to open those spaces up especially when it gets busier. Before the pandemic, you were able to reserve a space if you wanted to have your private party. Not sure if that's still the case but that'd be a great option for a gathering if they bring it back!

Yelp
I got the frozen banana that was coated in chocolate and sprinkles. The banana was huge, so you definitely can just get the banana for dessert! It was sweet and delicious. Because the banana was so big, it took a while to eat and the chocolate was melting. It is messy to eat as you can imagine the sprinkles popping off as you take each bite. I definitely want to try the almond one next time, or ice cream. Staff were friendly and there was plenty of seating.

Yelp
All the people that are working there very nice. Ordered a birthday cake for my daughter. Designed was Minnie Mouse. It came out pretty but we have to bring the figure. It would be better if they can make the figure.

Yelp
Tucker's has the look and feel of an old-fashioned ice cream store, and though the shop didn't feel particularly clean or nice to hang out in, this was clearly the busiest and most popular place for dessert on Park St in Alameda. I don't normally leave reviews for ice cream places, but the two flavors I had here were mind-blowingly delicious. The Cookie Mint Crunch was a mint ice cream with crushed chocolate mint cookies mixed throughout, and the flavor was reminiscent of the classic Girl Scouts Thin Mints with a nice balance of minty flavor and chocolate cookie texture. But I was an even bigger fan of the Toasted Almond, which had a distinct aroma from almond extract paired with a crunchiness from almond pieces. This might have been one of the best nut-flavored ice creams I've ever had, thanks to the deep flavor coming from the almond extract. The texture of both ice creams was perfectly creamy, and I got them on a freshly-made waffle cone, which had just the right crunchiness and vanilla aroma.

Yelp
I've been a fan of the tin roof Sunday at Tuckers for many years. I stopped by after a few years today, to have my all time favorite scoop with the famous hot fudge. Unfortunately my favorite choice in ice cream flavor came to an unfortunate demise. The Chocolate fudge was very good but the tin roof sundae definitely was not the same quality. The nuts were rancid in almost every bite and the cream tasted old. The waffle cone and fudge was good. I also purchased a carton of tin roof sundae as well as a small container of coconut pineapple. Unfortunately more disappointment with the two pre-packed flavors. The coconut pineapple cream appeared to be in the beginning stages of curdling. The tin roof again rancid nuts. Overall a big disappointment at one of my favorite ice shops.

Yelp
One thing I didn't have on my 30s bingo card was becoming lactose intolerant. It's been a struggle to remember to carry, much less take, Lactaid with my first bite of ice cream, pizza, etc. or sip of bubble tea from spots that don't offer milk-substitutes. Moreover, some items require multiple Lactaid pills and, well, you don't know that until you feel the side effects from not taking enough pills in the first place. After a rather intense encounter with some of Cookiebar Creamery's flavors, I created a note in my phone titled "Safe Ice Cream Spots." While Cookiebar didn't make the list, Tucker's mint chocolate and mint Oreo did - yay! And on top of being safe for my sensitive stomach, Tucker's gives really generous portions and the staff is consistently friendly and attentive. Definitely recommended!

Yelp
Today, the kids wanted ice cream and just by chance we found parking in front of the restaurant, so Tucker's it is! I've visited Tucker's for several years to grab a quick bite or celebrate birthday parties. It's been a few years since I've walked into the restaurant. When we approached the restaurant's front door, my daughter pointed out the windows sign that read "help protect Asian lives." I was just thinking how nice that sign was to read on the windows as you enter the building. As we walked in, it was nice to look up at the second floor and reminisce about all the family parties that were held up there. Today, the girls ordered vegan lemon and Cookie dough ice cream in a waffle cone. My daughter that ate cookie dough said that we need to go to Tuckers again as she quickly devoured every morsel of her snack. My daughter that ordered them vegan lemon said that it was good and we appreciate non-dairy options. I ordered a slice of the s'mores cake but it was finished by the time I was at the front of the register. It is 3:30pm on a Saturday, and the shift lead was giving my partner attitude and he was not happy with that at all so he asked to speak to the supervisor. As he was speaking to the supervisor, the shift lead walked up to them mid-conversation and said "what is the problem" so he looked at her and said "as a matter of fact, you are the problem." Long story short, basically, even the coworkers of the shift lead were telling my partner that the shift lead is just not a nice person. Ice cream: 4 stars from my girls Customer service: 2 stars

Yelp
Not a local around here but this seems to be a local spot since everyone seemed to be here when I went! I enjoyed the ice cream flavors and textures. I got butter pecan (totally underrated flavor) and mocha chip. I really really loved the chips in the mocha, they were the best chewiness texture. I also loved the big chunks of pecans in the butter pecan. I got to taste the strawberry cheesecake flavor and cookie dough. From what I got to experience, it's safe to say that the consistency/texture in Tucker's ice cream is good! A little pricey for my liking. I appreciate the COVID precautions (no indoor seating available) and the plexi glasses that were up at the cashier. Note: No tasting available due to COVID!

Yelp
The ice cream here was tooooo good! I have been looking for other places that have something similar to my favorite Coffee Cookie Dream and this place has something very close to it called Coffee Break. I highly recommend trying the Chocolate Waffle Cone with a double junior scoop with one scoop being Coffee Break and the other being Cookies n Cream. It was delicious! Can't wait to go back already!
