Our experience was fun, enjoyable and memorable. Our server was very attentive, knowledgeable and made my daughter feel at ease when we told her about her food allergies. She told us that she would notify the chef to keep all of our dinners safe. Upper deck outside seating with the evening breeze and summer tunes was completely relaxing, added to the excellent food and service. Cold salads, warm meals, frosty beverages ... couldn't ask for a better night. Visit for an early dinner or a late lunch to minimize your wait time. And don't forget about their happy hour in the welcoming inside bar Mon - Fri from 3 to 6pm, tasty appetizers and select drinks!

Tucker’s Tavern was the perfect first meal for our first time in LBI. We sat in the outdoor area with high-top seating—it gave off rooftop vibes even though the actual rooftop was closed. The oysters and tuna tacos were excellent, and the coconut-tini was incredible. The blueberry drink, on the other hand, tasted like water. The inside bar looked a bit depressing, but we didn’t sit there, so who cares? Service was good, and overall it was just a perfect beach lunch.

First time at this old LBI mainstay, very much impressed by the old English and New Jersey maritime design. This classic waterfront tavern did not disappoint, we were seated and served throughout by very friendly and knowledgeable servers and staff. We began our meal with their signature scallop and seafood chowder along with a bowl of the evening’s special vegetable and orzo soup, both were excellent and heartwarming on a cold damp afternoon on the island. We then moved on to have the fish and chips, crispy, fresh and flaky cod, perfectly cooked, a very decent burger topped with chopped short rib, probably better with just hamburger or just short rib but still okay, I also ordered their flatbread pizza with ricotta, onions and arugula which was very good. We loved the atmosphere and decor of this classic LBI establishment and can’t wait to sit outside when the weather warms up.

Stopped in for post-engagement drinks with some friends and family. All of the staff were warm, kind, and accommodating. The atmosphere on the rooftop was fantastic with a beautiful sunset. The food was also excellent as we ordered a few small plates and desserts to munch on. We will definitely be stopping by again when we are in the area!

Working for Dining Out Jersey Shore, it was so refreshing walking into such a beautiful restaurant in LBI. I was blown away with the Decor, food and the amazing service. The seafood is fresh and super tasty. I suggest the Fish Tacos, which, I have to say was the best I've had in a very long time. All the food Tara Jean and I sampled was phenomenal! I can't wait to go back!!!

Google
Popped in for a quick bite! 12 oysters and the Cobb seafood salad! Delicious!!

We go to Tuckers a lot and have never had a bad experience. We went this past weekend and they were clearly very busy for the holiday weekend, our server was amazing and took great care of us, despite clearly having a ton of tables. There was a small issue with an entree being undercooked and both the server and the manager who came over handled it quickly and appropriately. Great staff and amazing food. The rooftop tiki bar is a great place to catch the sunset and a great cocktail.

Google
Love this place! The decor and the style and the enormity of this building are gorgeous. The food was good but the portion was very small. The bartender Luciana was adorable and extremely personable.

Yelp
Great food, great service, tasty cocktails, nice atmosphere. Staff is pleasant and very accommodating. My fish was cooked perfectly and the crab orzo is amazing. (Only negative - My husband's ribs were cold and not great BUT they immediately removed them from the check offered to get him something else)

Yelp
Tuckers is good. Nothing particularly special but overall enjoyable, especially if you sit outside. I don't care for the inside as it's pretty dark for a beach restaurant. But their back deck and upstairs Buoy Bar are great. Both extra special if you can grab a table as the sun goes down. Their front patio is nice too but lacks any sort of view. Food is fine/good. Enjoyed the clams and flatbread. Guacamole was good too but a really small portion. Tacos, bolognese, peel and eat shrimp, and Caesar salad all good. A longtime menu staple is their burger with braised short rib. Meh. I like my burgers simply straight up! Service on both of my recent visits was great. Dakota in the Buoy Bar and Lucia downstairs both rocked it! Extra shout out to Lucia as it was Labor Day and they appeared short staffed. She did a yeoman's job of working the whole back deck. Bottom line: worth checking out!

Yelp
the inside was nice, the bar area was great. the music was great. after the music sat at a nice table. the appetizers were great. i loved the nachos. i got the cod sandwich, i was sooooo good. our waitress was so good. she was for real ones i have ever had at a restaurant. wish i got a name to give a shout out.

Yelp
We were looking for a laid back place with beer in draft. We couldn't help but notice the proliferation of mermaid art. I think they are from the same artist. Check it out. We had the calamari to start. It's a heavier batter than you may be used to, but I really enjoyed the hot peppers with them. I had the tuna tacos which have an Asian bent and were very tasty. In our party, we had crab cakes, tuna, and fish and chips. All was good, but we found a hair in the fish. The restaurant made it right, so kudos for that.

Barron N.

Yelp
We ate on the rooftop, was a very nice vibe overlooking the island. The service was very good and made the dinner enjoyable. The food was good, we shared a bunch of apps and they were good. The environment definitely elevates the food. If was just based on the food I would give 3 stars.

Mark S.

Yelp
On an island awash with mediocre, overpriced food, Tuckers delivers. Great selection of beers. Solid menu with excellent specials. Lots of space so there is often a table available. The prices are typical for LBI. I think this is my new favorite LBI spot.

Yelp
Tucker's Tavern on Long Beach Island is a great bar and restaurant that exudes a laid-back coastal charm. As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to discover that Tucker's Tavern not only caters to meat lovers but also offers an excellent vegetarian menu. One of the standout dishes I tried was the Kung Pao Brussels Sprouts. These little gems were a flavor explosion. They were smoky, salty, and packed with just the right amount of heat. The Brussels sprouts were perfectly cooked, with a delightful crispness that added a satisfying texture to each bite. Another vegetarian dish I thoroughly enjoyed was the Sticky Soy Glazed Tofu. This dish had an incredible balance of flavors, combining the sweetness of the glaze with a touch of saltiness. I will definitely be ordering this again if I return in the future. To complement the fantastic food, Tucker's Tavern also boasts a range of delicious cocktails. They were the perfect accompaniment to the vibrant flavors of the vegetarian dishes and further enhanced the overall dining experience. The combination of the harbor bar atmosphere, excellent vegetarian options, and flavorful dishes make Tucker's Tavern a must-visit spot on Long Beach Island. Whether you're a vegetarian or simply appreciate a diverse menu, you're sure to find something delightful to indulge in. Don't forget to pair your meal with one of their tasty cocktails for the complete experience.

Yelp
Had drinks and snacks on the roof deck tonight. Food was great and John the bar tender made our night. Great service, great drinks, Barbara loved the Drunken Mermaid and I had a Tuckers Tea delish. Such a nice guy. There is a reason we are here about 20 times a season.

Deacon L.

Yelp
The food was alright and was overpriced and took 50 minutes to come out. Waiters were good and nice but that's about it. The atmosphere was good but restaurants are for food. Fries were also cold and appetizers took 30 minutes to come out. They also forgot about our food items such as our onion rings. They accommodated us with more than the average side of onion rings. Looking for a good happy atmosphere go here with the beautiful roof bar but not for the food.

Theresa C.

Yelp
Tuckers Tavern is one of the best bars on LBI. The buoy bar has amazing views of the bay, Jonathan the bartender makes the best cocktails!!

Albert G.

Yelp
The food was very good and also the wait service. How the owner is still charging 3% for credit card payments. This is BS. Credit cards are the cost of doing business. They got over $300,000 from the government during COVID. The credit card charge amount is taken off the service tip. His employees should rebel.

Cindy Y.

Yelp
This is a very big and popular restaurant in LBI. It has several dining rooms you can choose from. Bruce and I opted for the rooftop bar. Our seats were in front of the bartender's dish washer, so lol the whole time we were watching the bar staff load and unload the dishwasher while getting sort of a steam facial and hydration for the night. The drinks were good. The 2022 award-winning clam chowder was excellent! But the BBQ ribs lacked flavor and tenderness, the roasted Brussels sprouts were a little soggy. The crowd were mixed, there were families there with really young children sitting at the bar with parents who are drinking, which were kind of odd to see that the families didn't opt to seat at one of the dining rooms downstairs and that the restaurant didn't enforce the bar for 21 and over. But regardless, I would definitely go back for the award-winning clam chowder

S C.

Yelp
Food was overpriced and of poor quality. I ordered the special, a halibut dish that sounded interesting, but the fish was way overcooked, and the sauce tasted like something pre-packaged. (For that they charged us $51.00... insane!!!) No wonder it was the only restaurant we were able to get into without a reservation!!! If there is ever a next time at this restaurant, which I doubt, we will stick to the bar food!!! The server was pleasant and friendly.

Theresa C.

Yelp
Tuckers Tavern is one of the best bars in LBI the buoy bar has amazing rooftop views of the bay and Jonathon the bartender makes an awesome cocktail!!!!

Yelp
Wife and I came down from High Bar with a 6:45 reservation last night. We came early to listen to music and had a great experience at the bar. Sat down for dinner at 6:45, waiter came and told us the specials and that was the last we heard from him. At 7:10 my wife and I left and hit the Chicken or the egg for soup and was out of there in 20 minutes. Sadly we will never go back to Tuckers again. The bartender was pushing us to order dinner at the bar and thinking we should have taken her up on it. Both bartenders were very friendly and attentive. At least they have a couple people that care. Sad our server was doing nothing but walking in circles. We watched. lol

Matthew L.

Yelp
Hold up... i was a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews on Yelp. I don't have a horse in the race and I've never been here. 1st time and i eat 70% of meals out in restaurants and i just got back from Italy. Just to give you an idea of my palate i love all types of food and will try anything once. We ordered 3 meals tonight even though there was only two of us. We need a meal for the Mrs's lunch tomorrow. We ordered the seafood special, traditional hamburger and the hot sausage bolognese dinners. Two drinks and a coffee at the end. The server was Ricky, nicest guy and came back to check on us several times other than bringing food or drinks out. The food- off the charts good. Wow. Never have i had every aspect of the meal taste so good. Even the fries that came with the burger were delicious. I will definitely be back and next time i want the roof top at sunset .

Victoria M.

Yelp
Alwaaaays love this spot. The rooftop is such a vibe and a great spot to watch some sunsets. The drinks are excellent and we actually ordered a few apps this time and loved. We will continue to come here every time we are in BH as it is just a great spot for us to make memories and enjoy the summertime

D D.

Yelp
Loved Greg and Jaq --great service on the outdoor deck today and awesome veggetarian options! Will be back!

Jen E.

Yelp
Ok so here it is tuckers You need to go fried and broiled seafood platters and fried seafood baskets and great seafood soups and two great steaks and a pasta dish (Ps we know your chowder is cambels ) all your food is just not good and you missed your mark they just use this place as a front or something because it's so garbage I don't know how this makes them any money the garbage chowder the shit wings weird entrees !!! make this an old school Jersey seafood steak and pasta house the food is ass your chef thinks he has great ideas but clearly he dosnt this restaurant has significantly less business than those who have great menus im done coming here fix it dip shits

Rachel S.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants I have been to on the island. Our table got the tuna tacos and chicken Enchilada nachos to start, which were both very good (nice portion and good quality!) For the main got a tabbouleh salad with chicken- can't recommend enough! Staff was also pleasant and drinks were tasty.

Steph L.

Yelp
Amazing place. Food was delish. Quick to get sat on a Wednesday! Zack our server was attentive and so personable. We'll be back when we come back!

Garrett G.

Yelp
Service was prompt and friendly. Ordered a burger medium, arrived extra crispy. Everyone else's meal was ok.

Ed G.

Yelp
Stopped here for some appetizers and drinks on a Sunday afternoon. We sat up on the top deck which had some great views of the water and marina. There was plenty of seating and got a table very quickly. Our server Dakotah, was awesome, just a really nice and friendly young man that gave us some great recommendations. The orange crushes were fantastic and the street corn guacamole is a must try! Great food/drinks, service, and location. We will definitely stop here again the next trip to LBI.

Julia F.

Yelp
I went to Tucker's Tavern for dinner after realizing the wait time at the Black Whale. It was my first time going. I had heard it had a very mediocre reputation, but decided to give it a chnace considering my hunger. I can now say that it is less than mediocre. It is very spacious and has a short wait time, however, it took the food almost 40 minutes to arrive. The calamari tasted frozen, the salmon was stale, over cooked, and tasted far from fresh. It was very difficult to get our waitress's attention, even though the resturant didn't seem too busy. Considering the amazing resturants on LBI, this is one to avoid. Ithas potential, but for now it is a plan B of a dinner. If you need a backup because of a long wait time go to Pinky Shrimp's Seafood.

Michael S.

Yelp
Really 3 1/2 stars. We had a party of six with a toddler and they kind of fooled me this time by a 5 pm outdoor reservation. I thought it would be on the upper deck or lower deck facing the bay, but turned out to be a patio area next to the sidewalk and parked cars near the hostess line. Aine was an excellent server. The food had some bright spots, but lost some of its shine without the view and the bay wind in my hair. Don't get me wrong I appreciate any beach restaurant that takes a reservation for six or more. Pros: French onion flatbread Raw clams White chowder Flounder entree Onion rings OK: Burgers Pork sandwich Kids pizza Seafood Cobb Needs help: Special oysters - small and stuck to bottom of shell, not well shucked Sea Scallops - four but not that melt in your mouth tender feel In summary, drinks are excellent and cold and apps are good. Stick to upper deck and wait for a table.

Ron T.

Yelp
We stay with friends on at Barnegat Light so this was a 45 minute drive on a very stormy Monday with flooded streets all the way down. But it was worth it. A huge, beautiful restaurant with great service from Jack. Great wine and beer selection. My burger was incredible (but they do need more cheese selections) and my wife's Flounder Piccata was amazing! Yeah, they are expensive, but worth it.

Tracey G.

Yelp
Nice staff Food subpar A lot of restaurants in the area... choose another The manager comped my meal and offered a replacement. Was nice of him Will not be back though

Kelli T.

Yelp
Fantastic happy hour, clam chowder is creamy sooth ,buttery, with an added touch of scallops ,topped with terrific house made oyster crackers, not the ones from a bag. Lol ,great atmosphere.staff is super cool.

TK's Iphone 1.

Yelp
$19 for a smallish Casamigos margarita Rocks at their rooftop Buoy Bar. Not much more I can say .

Bridget B.

Yelp
The service, atmosphere and drinks are fantastic! We started with the chowder and calamari for appetizers. We then had the pan roasted scallops with a side of creamy crab orzo and fish and chips. Both were good, but the chowder and the creamy crab orzos we're definitely the stars of the meal.

Bars Society S.

Yelp
Great food and drinks. A little bit pricey but worth it. Besides, their happy hour makes up for it. $1 oysters at 4:00. How great is that?!!! I would also recommend their lamb tacos.

L.A. K.

Yelp
We made a reservation, but wanted rooftop dining. we put our name down and sat pretty quickly. Our server Ryan was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Our food was very good. My husband and I shared the caesar salad and clam chowder. We could have each eat our own bowl of chowder. It was really good. My burger was very good and he liked his fish and chips. The portions were very good. I brought 3/4 of my burger back to the hotel because it was really like 2 burgers. Our drinks were very good. We will go back. After posting on Facebook, we had a few friends that told us how much they love it there

Nancy M.

Yelp
The food was outstanding. Our server Elizabeth was awesome. Very happy and very helpful. Nice relaxing lunch. Really great cocktails!

Jack A.

Yelp
Man I been here a few times and if u know how to order its pretty good. Today I went to get some apps and a beer and it was just so lame. Fries came cold and the street corn guac was fresh from the fridge. Ice cold mayo and corn on top fake ah guac. The chips were also weirdo. All that for $50 after tip. Why Tuckers, why? Our Server tho was awesome, just slow. Thanks mike

Vivian R.

Yelp
Went to Tuckers for the first time in years last night. We mostly went for the rooftop for sunset views. The staff was extremely friendly, we had made a reservation for indoors but when we got there we asked to be seated at the rooftop instead and they easily moved us. The menu didn't have a lot of choices that really stood out, so I ended up getting their Tucker's burger. The hamburger was topped with cheddar cheese, brisket and a sauce. The hamburger meat quality was not very good. It seemed like a frozen patty. The brisket/pulled pork was flavorless and didn't add much to the burger. The nachos that my boyfriend got were enjoyable and the cheese was light. We also had a few drinks while we were there and the sizes were a lot smaller than what you get inside the restaurant, since they use plastic on the rooftop. Their drinks were pretty expensive for what you get in my opinion. The rooftop is a nice place to have dinner and drinks because of the views, but I think we may go elsewhere in the future.

Katie S.

Yelp
The service here is amazing!!! I love the food too, the chef's are awesome! The vibes here are great and I would totally come back!

Mitchell M.

Yelp
Tuckers used to be a very family place. The menu is limited and very few choices for dessert. It's more of a tavern that sells food. The wait staff (especially Amy) are friendly and attentive. The bar is packed. It's a bit noisy. (Sorry guys, you've changed). I miss the old Tuckers.

Will M.

Yelp
Stopped in with my wife yesterday and sat at the bar. Bartenders were great and so were the drinks and the food. The place was quiet but it was still early. It's a little pricey but hey, it's summer on LBI. Well worth the stop!

Jimmy C.

Yelp
The food was delicious!! Thanks to Maddie for helping a couple of tired parents enjoy a nice date night out!

Jenny H.

Yelp
My salmon wasn't great. Quite dry. The vegitable mixture it came with was good. My husband thought the oysters were small. The 8 oz house rose was $20.00. That is way high. No bread served with dinner? The prices have gone up so much .. also a 3% charge for using a card. Times have sure changed.

Sabrina M.

Yelp
This was our first time coming to Tuckers Tavern! It was a very hot day out and we were seated inside. The decor was very cute and we loved the live music that was happening inside! I think Annie was the name of our server. For drinks we got an espresso martini with baileys and a misunderstood mule. Espresso martini was really good but coming from a bartender don't forget to put the 3 beans next time!!! Mule was delicious! For starters we got the chicken enchilada nachos and jumbo shrimp cocktail. HOLY MOLY we're the nachos amazing! I could eat that over and over again! Also the shrimp tasted very fresh and we were super happy with them as well!! For entrees my boyfriend got the fish and chips which was super yummy! These were cooked to perfection fish was perfectly flaky on the inside but still had an amazing crunch on the outside. As for my entree I did catch of the day which was Mahi Mahi. I wanted to change the sides because I was allergic to one of them but for catch of the day they try to keep the dish the same. Which understandable I just didn't want what I was allergic to to be on the dish so got an extra side of creamy crab orzo! Server was able to do it just didn't seem to fond of it but food still was overall very good and came out the way we wanted it to. Definitely recommend Tuckers Tavern!

Jess G.

Yelp
The waitress was awesome. The apps were okay. Three people gor steaks- two medium and one medium rare. All three were well done. We did speak up and the waitress was very accommodating. The second try steaks came out and still all well done or maybe medium well if you're being generous. The second round steaks had absolutely no seasoning on them and were so bland.

T. C.

Yelp
Went on a Wednesday evening. Packed. Popular place. My party of two sat at the bar on the roof top.....amazing breeze.....had a mock tail, glass of wine, chicken tenders and the flatbread. The flatbread was served cold and burned. Tasteless pretty much. Ordered the wings which were much tastier and warm-ish. Not sure if bc we were upstairs the food cools quicker but they can do better with that. Our server/bartender, Austin was amazing! He was attentive, patient and accommodating. He was also fair with handling our bill. I'd return for the bar crew up there alone. *we called before coming and asked if there was a long wait and we were told there wasn't but when we arrived 10-15min later, the line was out the door. Interesting.

Matt H.

Yelp
Overall everything was just okay. We were not blown away by the food, which is a bit disappointing given the price point. And our waiter was very good, but everything just took quite some time (we did have a big party but even to order it took over 20 minutes). The seafood cobb salad was huge and good, but really too big for 1 person, meaning they could cut down on size and reduce the cost ($35). Overall food options were limited and pricey and not rushing back for dinner but their rooftop deck seemed like a good time.

Casey P.

Yelp
our waitress Nicole was HORRIBLE. i personally work in the food industry and normally have sympathy for servers on busy nights. Nicole didn't greet us for over 10 minutes, she forgot our drinks, took over 10 minutes to refill our waters, and even got a simple kids penne with butter wrong. i've been coming here for years but will not be returning.

Mike D.

Yelp
$16 for Patron with club soda? This is ridiculous, I don't think it would cost that in NYC. Getting a bit tired of this crap. Not coming back.

T. G.

Yelp
Cute spot! I called earlier in the week to make a resi for 8 to celebrate a birthday at 8pm for a Thursday night! Team was nice but they rushed us out pretty early around 9pm and it felt kind of weird - yes I know it was off season, it was in September but they are open till 10pm? I also brought a cupcake cake and server awkwardly/ loudly as we were eating dinner and drinking said "if you want to do cake we need to do that like now..." so weird. Anyways food was solid, we tried a bunch of items like Reuben Nachos, Caesar salad, Burger and whitefish dip.

Nick J.

Yelp
We have been visiting LBI every summer for 20 years. This year we visited as a group of 10 and left feeling underwhelmed. Tuckers is one of the usual restaurants we visit, but unfortunately the value is just no longer there for us. What we did like: - Great views and outdoor area upstairs - Attentive staff and service - Clean and good atmosphere What we did not love: - Prices.... I am fine paying a premium if the quality justifies it, but unfortunately it did not meet our expectations for $30+ entrees - Quality.... We had a few dishes that were good, but the others really missed the mark with one needing to be sent back. What we ordered: - Various cocktails... all reasonably priced, creative and overall good quality. - 12 Oysters... good quality and fresh tasting with a nice presentation. - Calamari... these were okay, slightly overcooked and very thinly sliced. For $17 I was expecting a bigger portion. - Crab Cake(2x).... At $39, this one was our favorite entree at the table. This was 1 generously sized crab cake on a bed of cabbage and what looked to be frozen corn with a Thai style peanut sauce. I was a bit skeptical at first about the peanut sauce, but honestly it worked. - Tuna... this one was a medium sized portion of tuna over a bed of rice and veggies. It had a nice sear and well cooked. This was the second favorite, but at $41 it was not one to write home about. - Pulled pork sandwich.... This one was apparently decent. - Chopped Salad $16 add Chicken $9.... This one was straight up bad. It was a bowl of roughly chopped iceberg lettuce, some sliced tomatoes, bacon bits, and what might have been BBQ flavored tortilla chips. I don't even want to talk about the way over cooked chicken. Stay away from this one. - Flounder piccata... For $38 we got a plate of mushy white flounder on a bed of white risotto with some chunks of white crab meat, smothered in a white lemony caper sauce. Honestly my family never sends anything back, but this one had to be sent back a quarter of the way through and we didn't ask for another one. The manager did come to out and ask what was wrong was very apologetic and took it off the bill which was very nice, again the staff was great. Final thoughts: - While Tuckers offers great views, attentive service, and a pleasant atmosphere, the inconsistent food quality and high prices left us feeling underwhelmed. I don't want to write it off yet, maybe we just had an off night which happens. The burgers that other tables had looked good, so maybe we will be back to try those.

Peter K.

Yelp
The dinner in this place is very on point. Delicious food all around. The scenery is also amazing. The only problem I have is the breakfast. The eggs were pretty hard and the pancakes and waffles were okay. I don't know why they got rid of the French toast because that was great when they had it. It also took a while for the food to come. In a party of 7 we waited almost 2 hours for breakfast. The servers were nice but the food just took very long to come out and was cold when it came out. I would recommend for dinner and even breakfast too because the scenery is great and it's still a great experience.
