This Food-Filled Road Trip Celebrates West Virginia's Appalachian Culture | Bon Appétit

"I mean, it’s a biscuit world. The menu is funny: the Dottie, the Tootie, the Rocket; the Politician is a bologna sandwich. Everyone here grows up on Tudor’s. If you see the sign (and you will—it’s quintessential West Virginia), go through the drive-through and get you a biscuit." - ByCrystal Good, as told to Jen Choi

It was my first time ever going here, and I so wished we had one in North Carolina near me. Their biscuit and gravy are amazing, just like Grandma used to make.

Tudor's is a "must visit" regional restaurant chain.. if you are passing through the area, definitely check it out for breakfast. Biscuits and gravy are authentic, fully Southern and delicious. I have been to several of the locations between this one and Charleston, and this one was probably the best. Helpful and friendly staff, clean facility and quick service! I will visit again when I am passing through the area.

The people were fantastic … the food however was awful! The tots were grease soaked and void of flavor. The biscuit was incredibly disappointing! The egg and cheese were fine. The sausage was actually really tasty !! I ended up eating the egg, she’s and sausage and tossing the rest. Of the iced coffee was seriously delicious!

I have eaten lots of breakfast. This place is the real deal. Slightly disappointed the big tater shirt was only available in 5x, but that makes some sense if you really think about it.

I was a bit disappointed in the breakfast as the taste was good, but the servings for a classic meat and eggs breakfast were small. We've eaten lunch there before and left stuffed. This left us wanting more. The staff seemed more interestes in gabbing amongst themselves than making me (the customer) the priority. Nothing is more annoying than feeling like we are intruding on their social time but this seems to be a trend we found in this area and not restricted to this business. And more of a personal pet peeve is the fact that they charge a surcharge for using a credit card. Those surcharges are just an excuse for lazy business management and a way to squeeze a few extra pennies from those of us tourists heading to a tourist centric area. The small breakfast portions, staff not giving me their undivided attention and credit card surcharge may be enough for us to not go back next year when we return for another week of riding.

AWESOME..... This is a great place for you to get a close to your mamaw breakfast. If you're feeling good, bring the family with you as they'll love you for it. They have just recently opened up Tudor at this location, and I have been wanting to give it a try. I only ran thru the drive thru so I'm not sure how the inside looks. However the outside lot was clean and full of vehicles as expected. The service was pretty quick, the cashier was courteous and friendly, and as I hoped for I was told to park and they would bring my order out...This means FRESH and HOT. I didn't have to wait but for a few minutes and I was off. The food was great and will definitely be going back soon. The only problem I saw is there's a few Handicapped Parking spaces along side of the building making confusion to the Drive Thru lane.

Friendly staff and delicious food! I ordered the bacon flap jack. Easily better than a McGriddle. The turnovers were excellently fried and delicious!

Lots of great breakfast options here. The biscuit breakfast sandwiches are huge and delicious. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I have heard much about Tudor's before. I live in Charleston, SC. My boyfriend's family lives in West Virginia. We went up there to visit. We, of course, had to make a stop at the famous Tudor's. I was expecting this glorious brunch spot by the way they talked about it. I'm a city girl and I've been to a lot of nice brunch spots. Walking in, I was thrown off guard by the menu on the wall. It didn't take long to notice that this is basically just a fast food place I've never been to that serves breakfast all day. I proceeded to order the pancake platter with a side of fried apples. It came with eggs and bacon. My boyfriend immediately commented about the fact that I didn't get a biscuit at biscuit world. Sorry... I got it anyway. My food was pretty good for a fast food breakfast. We sat down and ate it there. The atmosphere was typical of most fast food places. I guess this place is talked about so highly because there just isn't much else around. As far as breakfast options go, you're probably best off going to Tudor's Biscuit World. The service was friendly, as with most places in this area. The food was good. They serve breakfast all day - now that's a huge plus! I say, give it a shot!

Yelp
Just OK in every aspect. Just OK food, with just OK service, in just an OK restaurant, at just an OK price. I don't hate it but I sure don't love it either.

Yelp
Quick, cheap, and tasty. Three things I love in my women and breakfast joints. Who doesn't love a fresh, hot biscuit in the morning?

Yelp
Called ahead to order and was told 15 minutes. Arrived at the drive thru about 25 minutes later and was told order wasn't ready and to park and they would bring it out. Waited another 15 minutes and they finally brought the order out. I had ordered the Big Tater but it looked more like a Small Tater. There might've been half of a scrambled egg in it, potatoes were cold, and the gravy was so cold it had a "skin" on it. It also looked like it had been slopped into the container. Food tasted mediocre at best. Very disappointed.

Yelp
We grabbed a sausage egg and cheese biscuit through the drive thru. They were huge! Nice and flaky texture. Definitely filled us up for the day.

Yelp
Descent biscuit, cold sausage patty, wet and unsalted scrambled eggs, no napkins in bag, an undercooked pancake, and only one syrup. Taking a break from this place for a while.
