For my 400th review, I figured, I should write about what brought me to New Orleans: graduate school at Tulane University School of Architecture. I've heard of many nostalgic stories of Tulane Pre-K, and how its so wrong now. But let me be nostalgic now, and tell you all the great things that I was able to do.
* I was able to learn in theory and practice what architecture is. How many other students will have practical experience when they graduate?
* Literally leave a trail of blood behind. Super glue will put your hand back together if you cut yourself.
* I learned how to use a LOT of power tools. Grinder, saws-all, table saw, drill press, etc. (some other kid got to learn where the closest hospital was.)
* Football games in the Superdome.
* The friends that I made.
* They let me graduate.
Since graduation, I'm jealous of all the things the new students are getting: like a soon to be renovated building, a new football stadium, a CNC machine, and expanded 3D print shop.
No, this isn't a cheap school, and nothing's perfect, but you are getting your bang for your buck. I'm not exaggerating when I say there were many sleepless nights, loss of blood, sweat being sweat, and tears shed, but I would do it all over again in a heart beat.
