Village Farmstand is the ideal future of sustainable grocery shopping. They source produce and meats from Midwestern farmers using regenerative farming techniques and sell to customers out of their Evanston store. It’s like a year round farmer’s market, and the team is amazing. You can buy online and pick up in store or simply drop by to pick up a few things. As a firm believer of the statement, “You pay the farmer or you pay the pharmacy,” I am incredibly grateful to this business for doing the logistically hard work of bringing quality food to the people of Chicago’s North Shore!

A really awesome place for buying local foods. Their offerings rotate with the seasons, though they do have some staples no matter the season. I almost exclusively shop here, and it’s kept my diet diverse and exposed me to so many new products. Some things will be more expensive than a normal grocery store, but I consider it an investment in the kind of resilient, community driven, small farm based, sustainable food system I want to be available to everyone one day.

They have a wide range of products, particularly produce, and in addition to the fresh offerings items such as sauces, condiments, pastas, fresh bread and crackers are fantastic. Village Farmstand is a MUST-VISIT if you are in Evanston! They have so many amazing local and farm-fresh goodness and the soups and hummus are especially incredible! I love how they are focused on eco-measures and sustainability practices as well, and their partnership with the Evanston Community Fridge program. Visit often and spread the word, friends!

Hands down the friendliest most knowledgeable staff ever! I was super impressed with Stephanie and Joe’s knowledge about the produce, meats, grains, chocolate, honey, bread etc... They also tell you what will be on next weeks shipment so you can plan for the following weeks meals. It has a mom and pop feel to it making it a fun place to shop. I look forward to getting my food from them weekly! Stephanie and Joe, keep up the great work!

Great quality produce and pantry items. Friendly staff and easy ordering process. It's been fun to introduce my daughter to things it's hard to find at the grocery store like kumquat and ramps. Love to support local farmers!

Beautiful breakfast radishes, great salad greens, tomatoes, zucchini, corn on the cob, Gunthorp meats (frozen), and lovely peaches were in our first order. Great bags and much appreciated curbside service will bring me back.
