I recently visited here. I tried the Poori with Aloo Kurma and Masala Dosa, both of which were delicious and full of authentic flavors. The Poori was perfectly crispy, and the Aloo Kurma had a rich, savory taste that complemented it well. The Masala Dosa was crispy on the outside and filled with a flavorful potato mixture. A special mention to Ruhi Ridhima, who provided excellent service. She was very helpful in recommending the best dishes and ensured that we had a pleasant dining experience. Her friendly and attentive service made our visit even more enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend tulsi for anyone looking to enjoy delicious Indian cuisine with great service.

I had a mediocre experience with the food at this restaurant. The aloo paratha was disappointing, with hardly any aloo (potato) in the middle, and the tamarind rice lacked flavor and had an overpowering amount of oil. To make matters worse, I found a hard seed in one of the dishes that was so tough, it almost broke my tooth! While the food was okay, it didn't quite hit the mark. Needs improvement!"

Delicious food items at a very reasonable price. We ordered quite a few items and every single one tasted very fresh and delicious. Highly recommend this place.

If you’re thinking about going, GO! One of the best meals I’ve had in a while. All the food was very good. I highly recommend their masala curry and their tikka fries. The place was very clean with friendly staff. But I loved the price! So affordable and big portions ! Don’t hesitate to go.

Good food with a casual ambiance. There were so many options to choose from. We ordered the papdi puri, chole bhature, and the vegetable dum biryani. We sat ourselves and the food came out quickly on a robot named Bella which was very unique. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. The chole bhature was our favorite. We’d come back for sure!

Ordered a butter masala dosa on Doordash since I was craving dosas. Dosa was a bit not the right texture after being in a box and bag for so long after the delivery, but it still satisfied my dosa craving. Gulab Jamun was excellent - good texture with a pleasant nutty and flowery flavor. Nice that I was able to get just 2 instead of 3 as a combo with my dosa.

Worst experience of my life! The waiter was so rude and started gossiping in his language about us thinking that we wont understand their language. His name was Shinde and I would not recommend going to this place again where people are mannerless and psychopaths. Food wasn't that great either. All they had in buffet is potato sabjee and no protein.

Came here on a Sunday around 3 pm. There's plenty of parking in the plaza. I've been wanting to try this place for a while because I've been craving dahi puri and wanted my partner to try it. The inside is a modern casual and simple. We decided to order the two curry tulsi curry combo with jeera pea rice, tandoori roti, dhaba tadka dal (recommended by the employee taking our order), malai kofta, and paneer makhni. We also decided to get the 2. Pani puri shots, 3. Sev dahi puri, and 22. Tulsi special masala dosa. They also have a buffet option during the week for lunch and then all day Friday-Sunday. The food was ready pretty quickly. It gets delivered to your assigned table by one of those cute little robots. We first received the puri dishes and the curry combo. The pani puri could have had more filling, but was still delicious. The dahi puri were filled and my favorite! They weren't the best I've ever had, but still good and flavorful. There aren't many options to order this within the valley. The curry combo was also flavorful and good for the price. The roti was pretty dry so I would probably order a different bread next time. I was very impressed with the dosa. It was very large and had a lot of filling! Also very good. We were able to finish everything besides the dosa and roti, which we took home. This is a good place to eat a variety of south Asian food. It's not the best ever but I would definitely come again especially for the harder to find dishes in the valley. I think flavor was more than decent, prices were on the lower end, and portions were hearty.

Great food! Nice experience. I wasn't sure what to expect from Tulsa, but I was pleasantly surprised. The ordering process was easy, and the woman behind the counter was friendly. This is a no-frills spot. A robot delivers the food to your table, and you pay at the counter. What we ordered: started with an order of samosa for an appetizer, garlic naan, and a couple of curry dishes. I've forgotten their names. I will be back.

I went here a while back and really enjoyed it! But the last couple times I've gone it lacked quality and flavor. I added salt to my food which I don't usually ever have to do with Indian food. The pani puri shots were great but everything else was a bit bland. Service was great as usual, staff was awesome. Ambiance was also super fresh and modern which was a plus.

I have to say that Tulsi Indian Eatery has progressively and positively grown on me over the last several months. As a result, I have become a big fan of many of their dishes. So when I heard that they had started a lunch buffet ($18 Tue - Thurs), I had to try it out. There is a large dedicated seating area for buffet customers and a sign that explains the rules. What struck me is that there is a 60 minute eating limit. So let's talk about the food. The buffet display is very elegant, with the major items in large polished and sparkling copper containers. Keep in mind, this is a unique Gujarati Thali Buffet, claimed to be "First of its kind in Southern California". As such, like the restaurant itself, it is all purely vegetarian. The buffet includes freshly prepared Roti or Puri brought to your table. Apart from 8 major selections, there is salad, raita, fire roasted pappar, salad, pickle and chutneys. Water and Lassi is included. The food was fresh, well prepared and delicious. Service was exceptional. The buffet turns into an all day buffet between Fri-Sun (this one for $20). That will be the next target, on my continuing culinary journey. And so I did. Only difference between the Weekend Buffet and the weekday one is $2 in cost for which you get one extra appetizer and one extra sweet.

Great restaurant to visit if you want a clean modern take on the Indian cuisine. Something different from the usual Indian restaurants around the SFV. Been here multiple times with friends and family and the food has always been good. Loved that they had vegan meat options for the indo Chinese dishes. Fast casual service restaurant with options from different regions of India to satisfy all types of cravings. The thali and buffet options keep up with the standards of variety. The ghee dosa, chilli paneer, dahi puri and masala lassi would be notable menu items.

Great Indian vegetarian restaurant. Every item was good. However, the momo's Manchurian (dumplings with red chili sauce), sauce tasted too strong and tangy. I couldn't eat it. If they can fix the sauce then it would good. The place is clean. It was easy to order. A robot brings your food to your table which is really cool. Never expected to see at an Indian restaurant. I want to come back and try other items on the menu.

I love this place we go for dinners most of the time. This time we found out the have excellent buffet wish was wast and generous. The stuff are really nice and vary accommodations. I love the mutton dish come out vary hot from the kitchen. You will love it . The had indian music wish i love.enjoy.

Great place to eat some south Indian food with loved ones. We ordered the family meal full of all vegetarian options! It was yummy, nourishing and colorful. To reduce plastic use, we asked for reusable utensils instead of plastic ones and the server gave us some. Reusable plates and cups available for dine in. Booths are spacious and outdoor sitting area available! They also serve wine and beer.

Food was awful and expensive. Fast food environment, but it took a long time for the robot to deliver the food. It kept delivering other patrons food to our table as well. We will not be back.

They have perfected the thali/buffet. Love coming here. Can't complain when getting my Toyota serviced across the street and I have to "wait". Literally the place for vegetarians. #Gujaratiapproved

First time trying Tulsi. We came in an hour before closing. Thali and Curry Combos were not available anymore. (I ended up trying thalis at their Westwood location. I wrote a review there.) Samosa Chaat: Too much chaat, not enough Samosa. I would not get this dish again. Amritsari Kulcha with Chole: Good flavor. Spiced well. The bread made the dish. Plant Based Chick'n Kathi Roll: Very tasty but not authentic. A westernized version with the fries and salad. This was the winner of the night, however. Service: fast casual. So there's not really anything to say for service. All in all, their menu has many, many, many options. It can be overwhelming. So it can be a hit or miss with whatever dishes you choose.

the food is good. I have had almost that there is on the menu over time and enjoy it. However I find it disturbing that in the evening the sitting area is limited to 4 booths which is usually full of uncleared tables from previous guests and the staff make no effort to clear the tables, clean and get it ready ..this dampens to poor customer service and I feel reluctant to visit or bring any of my friends there to dine in.

I always enjoy a good curry. This was a great choice as their menu options do not disappoint. We had their Tulsi Family Meal which Includes Choice of 3 Curries, 1 Daal, 2 Bread, 1 Rice, Sides of 2 Raitas. Also their Garlic Naan which is thick flatbread with Garlic Butter is delicious and appeals to the taste buds. To wash down this delicious meal try their rose lassi. The desserts are on point as you have a variety of great options. One of my favorites is their Salted Caramel Gulab Jamun - Salted Caramel Gulab Jamun. Great flavor! Service is great as the staff is professional and friendly and will answer any of your questions. Parking is in their lot.

It's a large, clean space. The menu is unique as it tells you the food from different parts of India (north, south, etc.) and I was really surprised to find that we enjoyed everything we got. We got the dahi puri, two tulsi thalis, tulsi masala dosa, chole bhature and aloo bhaji. Everything was great, I would definitely recommend getting the tamarind rice with the thalis. FYI, for my Indian friends, the aloo bhaji is the gravy style potatoes, not the dry fry bhaji you get in some parts of India. Service was good. It's an "order at the counter" place and a (automated) server brings the food out to your table. It was pretty neat.

Overpriced & Tasteless food. Went there after seeing the great ratings on Yelp, but it was a total disappointment and waste of time. Ordered the following and none of them were good expert garlic naan. - spicy garlic fried rice (tasted like hot sauce+ketchup) - chilly paneer (tasted like ketchup) - bisibellahbath - dal tadka; no salt. - noodles (not fully cooked) - garlic naan ( fresh, flavorful)

What a wonderful experience we had dining at Tulsi! I am passionate about food, especially those of other cultures. Indian food has always been one of my favorites as the flavors are quite varied. Love the variety of textures, tastes and aromas. As a first timer at this restaurant, I had no idea of what to expect other than knowing there would be lots of choices. The employee taking our orders at the counter was extremely helpful and friendly in describing each item we inquired about. My hubby and I decided to order combo platters so we could sample several different dishes. The tamarind rice and the lentils were my standout favorites although everything was quite amazing! The platter contained more than enough food and I'm proud to say, I enjoyed every bite ;-) The surprise came when a talking robot brought our food to the table. That was a first and quite entertaining!! Parking is available in the lot out front. Highly recommend!

Amazing South Indian food, the vada idli sambar as well as thali are good options. Service is fast and staff is courteous

So many different curry options for such an amazingggg price! I got three curries and naan and sides for $17!!! The buffet is also a great option of AYCE for around the same price. The buffet was not good so I do not recommend, but the three or two curry combo is so worth and yummy! The buffet does come with unlimited bread and the service was amazing! The place is clean and was not too busy when I went!

Flavorful and variety aplenty. However, the few tikka masala pieces are drowning in curry. So if you order the naan bread it's perfect for dipping! Please add more protein - would be really good! Have not tried the buffet and seems always empty . Maybe only offer that on Sundays.

Dining in at tulsi Indian Eatery was heavenly. Such an amazing environment and the flavors of the food were Divine. Service was incredible, respectful, and caring staff. If you're looking for any type of north or South Indian food, this is a place to be at the inside was beautiful. The chai needs more flavors. It didn't taste fresh and no taste of cardamom.

Ordered family combo . Got good portions of currys and naan and really worth money. We were 2 adults and 2 kid. We still had to go boxes packed in spite had good AMT of food at dine in. Ordered best from list eggplant curry, kofta , paneer and daal tadka with naan and ghee rice. Would come back again. Recommend to any who wants to try authentic Indian veg cuisine at best.

This is always our go to place to have a variety of Indian street food from all over the country. The Batata Vada is my fave followed by the Idli Vada Chutney Sambar combo. Entire family have been to this place multiple times and we have never been disappointed with any of our dishes here. They have recently started the lunch buffet which I am dying to try. For the moment it's all five stars.

We went on friday busy night, could not decided what to get as everything on the menu looked mouth watering. It was self seated, clean, delicious. Service was fast too.

Wow! If you're looking for a place to eat today then look no further! I dislike going to downtown, but now I will go out of my way just so I can eat here. This place has an incredible selection of vegan and non vegan food all at a great price. Being part of the 200lbs+ vegan club it can be tough to find filling food that isn't expensive. But you can easily get full here for $15. I went on a busy Saturday and the service was still great, food came out super quick, it was hot and talk about flavor! The spice level was perfect, enough that you might need to sip on a lassi but not so much that you'll regret it the next day. Only down side is parking isn't the best, but then again it's downtown and not too many places have great parking, but don't let that detour you, this place is definitely worth it!

Idlis were soft, vadas were crispy, chutneys and sambar was yummy. Food was good and authentic but the service was too slow for just an of Idli vada sambar combo! It was more like an express counter where you need to order the food at the counter, no servers so I didn't understand why they had tipping fees at all ! To make extra money for basically no service!

This is for the Gujarati Feast Tulsi now offers. Again this is strictly for the all you can eat option. There is no mention on their website if the buffet option was an all day option or limited time. There were no signs in the restaurant about the availability of the buffet. My friend and I arrive at the place around 2:30 and pay for the buffet option $43.50. the lady at the counter fails to mention that last call for the buffet is at 2:45 since it is over at 3pm. If we were given this bit of information, we would have opted to order off the menu. The buffet options were decent. They offered the plum sauce, the green sauce, and the chutney. Then you have about 7 or 8 options, 2 being some kind of soups and 1 rice option. Then they offer two dessert options. Wasn't a big fan of the yellow yogurt based pudding but the milk based dessert was yummy. Overall there were three solid dishes I'd go back for, cheese squares in red sauce, 2nd dish looks like cauliflower mash but friend said it was rice (yellow) and the white based soup. Sorry I can't recall the names of the dishes. Oh and the buffet option comes with bread service with last bread being served at 2:45. And to top off our short lived buffet experience, they asked us to leave the dinning area around 4:00 since they had to clean for dinner service. I hope they can work out the kinks to better serve their customer base.

I like that this place offers regional options. I was so overwhelmed by the menu, but was excited to see that they had a curry sampler instead of having to order large quantities of one specific curry. I placed an order for takeout, and when I picked it up, the girl at the counter was very kind, friendly and welcoming. The place was very clean. The food was a little cold, but I think that my order may have been ready a bit before the estimated ready time. That did not take away from the flavor. I ordered the two curry sampler which came with your choice of rice, two Currys, and your choice of daal, choice of bread, and a generous portion of raita & pickle. I went with jeera pea rice which one of my coworkers used to make from scratch, and I absolutely loved her rice, and this tasted exactly like it, so good. I went with the butter naan, they give you two large pieces which is great because they give you so much food that you can have it for two meals and I saved one piece for my second meal. The dhaba tadka dal was cooked perfectly. For my first curry I went with Potato Bhaji and my second Paneer Makhani. The spices on all of these dishes was perfect. The one thing that I really appreciated was that the food was spicy, but not so spicy that you couldn't enjoy all the other flavors and spices in the food. It was a pleasant burn that built up throughout the meal, not an instant burn. This is definitely somewhere that I will return to try more things on the menu.

I went inside and wanted to try this new place. I waited at the cash register and both workers didn't acknowledge me or help me. I asked them how do I order and they said, here at the register. Then they both walked away to pick up food from tables instead of helping me. I was confused. I waited for them and they basically ignored me. Worst service I've seen in a very long time. Don't waste your time here.

I've been wanting to come here and try the Vada Pav for a long time. And I am not at all disappointed. The bun is so soft and fluffy. The potato has really great curry flavor and is soft and juicy. I don't know how they make that potato ball so moist, but it pairs really well with the sweet tamarind chutney and the spicy fried chili. The fries and the salad seem a little out of place. The Kathi roll Is absolutely amazing, filled with pickles and yogurt and vegetarian chicken bits that are masala flavored. The wrap bread is soft and chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside, making a perfect texture of crunch and chew. I only wish it was bigger, next time I'll have to get two of them. And again, the fries in the salad seem a little out of place.

First time at Tulsi. There was a huge menu! I would study the menu before waiting in line because everything smells and looks amazing. Everything we ordered was delicious. If the menu indicated it was spicy, then yes, it was spicy! There was a cute bot that brought our order to our table. Will come back to try more options on the menu.

Popped into Tulsi wanting to change up the vibe of the mundane typical food choices I've been having and man was I hit with an explosion of FLAVORS. Now being a person with a nut allergy you have to be a little careful when it comes to Indian food but they have plenty of options without them. I got the two curry combo and also the #35 (the potato sandwich) I don't even want to try to spell all menu items but everything was amazing. Had a good enough spice and I honestly could've upped it but I played it safe lol establishment was extremely clean. If I could only have oneeee con I'd say the person taking my order could be a tad more personable. Seeing a menu with all unfamiliar terms can be intimidating for some people and having someone who can better explain what you're getting and describing the taste I think would be beneficial for future customers. He wasn't mean by ANY MEANS but would've liked a warmer explanation of everything it felt like I was bothering him by asking. But the food was so good i forgot about it hahah I definitely will be coming back to experiment more with the other menu items

Overpriced and average food. Barely any vegetables in pulao, mostly only rice. The daal or curry is watered down , and I could not find much vegetables either. Extremely high profit and greedy business model that prey on vegetarians or people who crave some masala flavors . Luckily I'm neither. The kebab shop next door provides way more healthier ingredients, better portion and taste .

Where stars were earned: Cleanliness, mango lassi, Gulab jamun. Where stars were lost: Food lacked flavor compared to other Indian restaurants. Plant based chicken masala just had extremely hard tofu in it. Even though you're charged additional for "plant based chicken". Also noticed while ordering online I was not able to add an additional plain naan on the side. So I placed the order when I went in to pick up. (Wish all in store options were available online.) While I was waiting the owner/manager came out asking a worker what I was waiting for. He then began to help someone else with a pick up order asking me to move out of the way. Which is okay, but he seemed really agitated/annoyed by my presence. It became really uncomfortable at that point, I couldn't wait to get out of there. Overall customer service wasn't a strong point. Food wasn't a strong point. This was a miss for me.

Do not visit this restaurant specifically on Tuesdays, the staff that works that shift are so rude and needs some customer service skills. The chef doesn't know how to make garlic naan/ butter naan, it was burnt and tasteless. I should have taken my money elsewhere.

Awesome restaurant!! We came here for all the gluten-free options. Food is so flavorful and delicious. The staff were great at explaining menu items and helping us make choices. So many great options to choose from. Standouts for us were the Tulsi Special Dulsa, Sambar Soup, and paneer makhani. They also have a robot server which was a fun experience. Definitely recommend checking this spot out.

Decided to give this place a try with my husband and man oh man it did not disappoint! Customer service was great and the guy at the cash register really helped us decide what to order. We chose the family meal and it was beyond delicious !love some good Indian food ! Highly recommend !

Great selection of Gujarati dishes in the lunch buffet. Plenty of seats. Nice sedate music.. In the buffet, the puris and rotis. The rest is self service.

The lunch buffet is not worth it due to the food lacking taste and price being too much for the type of food. Only positive I can say about the Service is OK

The good: This is a cleaner fresher Indian fast casual restaurant. The improvement areas: Their restaurant appears to claim to serve authentic food but it can be a hit or miss (has been more misses for us than hits) depending on what you order. I've been happy with some items and disappointed with many others. I wish they'd make pav bhaji and other dishes more authentic and tasty. When I go to a restaurant I want the food to delight me and that hasn't happened for me at Tulsi. My home food is tastier than the restaurant which is disappointing I like their dahi puri, pav bhaji is average, thali has a good number of options if you get the two or three curry combo but the taste has been somewhat disappointing. I hope the management improves their recipes because I want them to succeed. And I don't want to have to cook at home to eat yummy food!!!

Been back many times, keep trying new things and I'm always delighted. This time the favorites were the plant based chick'n tikka masala and vegetable cashew korma. Both excellent in the curry combo. Also the dragonfruit lassi and Hawaiian paradise lassi were excellent. The cheese and jalapeño naan was a nice new surprise as well.

Reducing a star for the service - on New Year's Day I felt bad for the staff being overwhelmed with waiting tables cleaning and taking orders. We had to wait a whole hour to get the food. Overall best vegetarian Indian food!

My family and I came for lunch today to celebrate my dad's birthday. The staff was warm and courteous. The owner even came to our table. The food was delicious and not over spiced or greasy. We all ate from the vegetarian buffet, with unlimited visits. Lassie on tap. The ambience was bright and very pleasant. I love the green decor, you felt like you were eating healthy food. All of the items in the buffet were in copper pots. Very cool! The menu was pretty diverse and they were a lot of things that I will go back to order. Huge parking lot in the front.
