"Why is this restaurant run by Ilona Scholl and Maximilian Strohe so popular? For one thing, there is the gorgeous setting. Housed in a pretty old building in Kreuzberg, the dining area boasts high stuccoed ceilings, wooden floors, artwork and original wallpaper. For another, the informal yet well-drilled front-of-house team, which is headed up by Scholl, fosters a friendly, laid-back atmosphere. But it is of course primarily the cuisine that draws diners in. One of the best places to taste Michelin stars restaurants. It has a highest pleasure to taste these super original meals. Each portion was extremely interesting and delicious. Very good choice of wines that restaurant proposed. The price very high but you know that price in advance

excellent menu from end to end. Ingredients used all around with a nice, creative twist. The appetizers were outstanding, which isn't always the case in german fine dining places. Overall a great experience. The only minus to mention is that the chairs were a bit uncomfortable, which you really feel in a long meal like this.

Fantastic culinary experience from start to finish. Probably (one of) the best 1* Michelin in Berlin. Relaxed atmosphere, very friendly staff and cosy setting. Every dish was offering an unexpected mix of flavors with delicious sauces - which seems to be the chefs special power.

Food: portion sizing was too small (half a prawn and not even a mouthful of venison) Certain elements of the dishes overpower the entire body of the meal. Service: staff were mediocre and very condescending due to us not being local to Germany. Atmosphere: The setting was nice but the random music choice of drill and edm music with classic and jazz in the mix was distracting. Price: 239€ per person was incredibly inflated for what was offered would not recommend.

Tulus Lotrek is one of the hotspots of the Berlin culinary scene. Some say, of the whole of Germany. The name is a phonological transcription of Toulouse Lautrec, a French painter who lived a very bohemian lifestyle in the Paris quartier of Montmarte in the late 1800s. Today, Chef an co-owner Max Strohe offers two menus for dinner, one vegetarian. He has rightly earned one Michelin star for his straight forward, no nonsense and no chichi style, where simply taste rules the beautifully orchestrated menu. Most dishes you can eat with a spoon and you continue to be surprised and impressed by the different textures, aromas and preparations. Modern German cuisine with lots of touches from France, Italy and Asia. All courses were a treat in itself. The timing was perfect and the portions were just right. One has to mention the highly attentive and competent and extremely friendly service. The young Sommelier was equally impressive with his in depth knowledge of a carefully put together and extensive wine list. The little garden terrace outside was an ideal setting for a most enjoyable evening. Fine dining has its price, here one has to mention that the value for money is worth every cent. Highly recommended!

Honestly… one of the best fine dining experiences we ever had in Germany! Make sure you put this restaurant onto your list. We are still dreaming about those mouthwatering, umami sauces! 🤤 From some we would have loved to get a bucket full of them. All in all - amazing food and outstanding wines. We went by bottle and we got some amazing recommendations. We especially loved the laid back vibe and the warm and welcoming staff. In our opinion they definitely deserve more michelin stars 🤩

I would have appreciated if the very nice and welcoming waitress would have told me that a glass of champagne was 23€, it’s was great and very tasteful, I also know that I should have asked for the price. So what I’m trying to say here it’s just a minor thing that could have been cleared out to avoid discomfort when the bill arrived. Anyways the food the attention and the deco is really nice. We had the tasting and some good wine and a great evening. We’ll be back!

Outstanding ! tasting menu, each and every single course was amazingly delicious. I had the chance to taste the vegetarian menu( bites from my wife’s ) as well as my own omnivore one. The recommended German wine by the sommelier was also excellent. Also the service was excellent. So to me this is an exceptional cuisine that is worth a special journey.

The unsuspecting storefront delivered in a big way! Upon walking in we were greeted by a warm welcome that felt nice. It was freezing outside. The table they had reserved for us had my name written across it in chalk which was a nifty touched. Stroking patrons egos is always a nice touch. At the $900 cost for dinner for the two of us - stroking was definitely in order. The meal was exquisite and the wine pairings were perfect. Coming from California and being a fan of French wines, I have always had a distrust of German wines. Tulus proved me wrong and my introduction to local wines was a great experience. I never knew how much I could love a dry riesling! If you're meaning to have one fancy meal while in Berlin, please make it Tulus Lotrek. It will not disappoint.

Had a lovely solo dinner here during my first trip to Berlin. I found this place on the Michelin guide (actually it was "only" Bib Gourmand when I found it, but between making the reservation and dining there, they earned 1 star) and chose it as my splurge meal due to the location near lots of cool cafe/shops and the overall laid-back vibe (I want great food, but I feel awkward dining in super-formal white table cloth places when I'm traveling alone). The whole experience from start to finish was excellent. The decor is cozy and inviting. The online reservation process was straightforward and they write out your name in chalk on your table -- a thoughtful touch that really makes you feel welcome. My server was super sweet and really made sure I felt taken care of. She gave me some good tips for exploring the city, never made me feel rushed, and always checked on things and anticipated my needs without me needing to ask (i.e. I started with a white wine and was thinking of getting a glass of red to go with the duck course, and she already had 2 very different reds for me to try). I had the 5 course option (the smallest) and in hindsight, was not that full when I left. So if I went back I probably would opt for 1 or 2 more courses, as the portions are small. The scallop and duck were my favourite dishes, but really everything was exquisitely done with unique flavours. The only thing that was a bit of a let down was the dessert. The orange blossomwater-saffron ice cream was delicious, but served with a grilled pineapple it was a bit plain. The prices are high but I found the quality of the food and the overall experience made it worth it.

This unassuming Michelin-starred restaurant in Kreuzberg delivers beautiful food with friendly, professional service. The menus change regularly but there were two choices - a vegetarian and non vegetarian option, each with 9 small courses. There was no option to take fewer courses when I visited. A magnificent wine list stands at the ready. Note the place is super expensive -- even compared to other 1 Michelin starred restaurants -- and while the experience was good, when taking into account the expense the value might not be there. I still like the place, even if I wouldn't be a regular customer.

Berlin Michelin Star Restaurant. Very well deserved. Euro service, as most of you know, is nothing like it is in the West. Curt, often dismissive and rude, was the norm in most of Germany for me. This place is UBER friendly and warm and attentive without being overbearing. Awesome and we felt welcome. Excellent tasters options where you can choose any number of the selections from either the meat or vegetarian side of the menu. Insanely expensive but once in a blue moon it's ok. Some of the dishes were out of this world. Others were very good. I would rank this place slightly below Sra Bua in Berlin for my one experience but I would still very highly recommend. See my photos and menu for the dishes. I can't remember them all.

Dined here solo wile visiting Berlin. Very welcome greeting, and wonderful service. A warm atmosphere. The food was amazing, and worth every cent. - 2 sparkling Riesling's (not too sweet, super refreshing) - Tartar appetizer (topped on cheese and bread, I love tartar and this one was really good) - Char (definitely the highlight, was cooked perfectly, with the skin a little crispy, and on a layer of roe, served with broccoli) ~80eu, check came with petit fours

Underwhelming and overpriced yet giving it four stars because it is certainly a restaurant that serves immaculate and tasty dishes. My two favorite things about this restaurant were the wallpaper and the ordering flexibility. We were told we could choose any 6 dishes from either the meat or vegetable fixed menu - I appreciated this and enjoyed dishes from both menus. The waitstaff were quite nice; however, our meal lasted nearly 5 hours and we waited quite long in between each course. We left thinking the food was good but unmemorable and the experience was lacking.

There's a lot to like here: 1) Hospitable and attentive staff, 2) Highly competent cooking, and 3) A charming space. That said, there were some significant issues. Foremost, the pacing of the meal was a total blunder. At times, it seemed that we were moving from one historical epoch to another while we waited for the next course. Simply put, this shouldn't happen at a fine dining establishment, and certainly not one with a Michelin star. What's more, other diners who arrived later than we did, received their food earlier--the same course no less! Is this prejudice against Americans? We deserve it, but punitive damages for Trump should be more subtle in their presentation. I will say that the saffron ice cream was some of the best ice cream I've had in my life.
