Austin Hot Chicken Restaurant Tumble 22 Is Opening in Round Rock - Eater Austin

"Local hot chicken chain Tumble 22 is growing quickly: the company is going to expand with its fourth Austin-area location set for Round Rock at 2111 North I-35. There is no set opening date as of yet. Just in 2020 alone, the group opened restaurants in Cedar Park and West Austin (in the former Magnolia Cafe West space). Co-partners Larry Foles and chef Harold Marmulstein (who runs New American restaurant Salty Sow) first opened Tumble 22 as a food truck in 2017 on West Fifth Street, which turned into a restaurant up on Burnet Road in 2018. There’s also a location out in Houston as of December 2020." - Nadia Chaudhury

Google
One of my favorite spots to get a unique fried chicken sandwich. The waitress was amazing. I think her name was Jamie. Super professional, friendly, helpful and patient. I was able to pick her brain about the menu and the different spice levels offered. The food was great. The chicken sandwich was big and the sandwich was thick. But it was super tender and not rubbery. Jamie also mentioned to try the Mac and cheese and I was so happy I did. It was super creamy and flavorful. Unfortunately my food was taken away on accident while I was away to wash my hands. But Jamie was super quick to correct that mistake. I will definitely be back to try more flavors and items they offer.

Have been to this location many of times. Never had one problem. My boyfriend went into the Round Rock location today and ordered (you can see the receipt) to-go. The waitress was lovely, she placed the order quickly and had great energy. Once leaving, getting home and opening the bag do we realize that we got almost everything we didnt order, besides fries and mac and cheese. The sandwhich was not the one of the month, the 1/4 dark was a mix of a breast and a drumstick? Even the greens, collard greens, were coleslaw.. This is really disappointing. Either someone else got our order by mistake, or everything was just incredibly wrong, besides the sides 🥲

Google
Another fully favorable fantastic location for Tumble 22! I'm a fan, and I make no apologies for it. This chicken is simply done right, and with all the options on the seasoning, there is simply no reason not to take the entire crew here. There is definitely something for everyone. Add in the dessert at the end (or to take home), and this unquestionably should be at the top of your list to hit up and enjoy.

Google
Val was fantastic! She was friendly but aware of our needs and didn’t overwhelm the table. As it got busier she still was attentive with our needs and we still never felt we waited on a thing. Food is always fresh with a unique flavor. I was really excited they had a healthier option so I felt less sad about having a mouth watering Bloody Mary! My husband has dreams about the chicken so all around a good day!

Google
second time here, I let a lot of time lapse but won't be long before my next visit. I LOVE the firm texture of the chicken and the batter is so crunchy and awesome. good fries on the side and the come back sauce is perfect. And the service I got from Val was also perfect, multiple times she anticipated what I needed before I even had to ask, right on top of things but without hovering. I'm pretty much a wimp with spice and locked in that the first heat level is just fine for me

Tried this place out for the first time today and I’ll definitely be returning. The food was delicious and the customer service was exceptional— Those deviled eggs with the candied bacon were delicious. Mo’ Hot was the perfect spice level for me. I can’t find anything bad to say about this place. The prices are more than fair. 10/10

Google
We decided to try this place and it did NOT disappoint. I had the Cobb Salad and my fiance had a chicken sandwich. Our server was Josh. He was extremely attentive and made sure we were taken care of. WE HAD THE CHOCOLATE Cream pie for dessert. Freakin delicious!!!! 😋 I recommend this place for sure. The service was awesome and the food was great 👍

Google
I thought I was just adding a picture only to realize I hadn’t reviewed the Round Rock location. I love Tumble from their fries and drinks and to their specialty- chicken. The RR location has friendly staff and serves better chicken than the Cedar Park location. The Burnet location, the OG, is still my favorite though.

Yelp
Visiting my friend and we tried Tumble 22 per her previous experiences. I got the Big Larry to drink which is a frozen blood orange margarita. It was good and wasn't too strong which was great. I got the southern sandwich with a side of Mac n cheese. The mac n cheese was pretty okay..you can tell they seasoned it which was good. The sandwich was good but I wish it didn't have as much breading and more meat. It also only came with mayo which is kinda weird but it wasn't a deal breaker. Once I added their signature sauce ( I think that's what it was) and some ranch it was waay better. Our server was nice and the ceiling had a bunch of doors as decorations which was different but a cool and unique touch. I also tried a few fries off my friend's plate and those were good too! Gave a 4 cause of all breading on the chicken

Yelp
My wife and I visited for our first time yesterday. We got the OG chicken sandwich, half cob salad, and the Szechuan fries.  I don't believe we were greeted by the host when we came in and she sat us without saying a word. However, that's were anything negative stops. Our server was fantastic. She was very friendly and comped us out Szechuan fries because it was our first time in. She also explained the the name of the restaurant when I asked.  Everything came out pretty quickly. It was pretty evident that the sandwich and fries were waiting on the cob salad tenders because everything was a little lukewarm besides those tenders. They were piping hot.  Everything seemed clean enough but someone blew up one of the toilets in the men's stall. The employees just need to check a little more often.  Everything tasted absolutely great. Crunchy, but the spice left a little to be desired.  The cost I think is a little bit on the top end but you definitely get what you pay for with the potions and quality. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and well absolutely be back again

Yelp
Tried this place out for the first time today... we won't be back. The food was mediocre at best and the service was awful. The server seemed as if she couldn't be bothered with serving us and spent very little time engaging with us. We sat with empty glasses for half our lack luster meal. Overall, less than impressed... the only thing saving my review from being a one star was the coleslaw. Best thing about our experience and that should say something.

Yelp
My husband and I wanted to check this place out after hearing good things from our friends. We got there during dinner time and had a small 10 minute wait. The waitress took care of our drinks and order very quickly. The food here is simply amazing. We started off with the Szechuan fries. The fries were crispy and the amount of chicken was very generous. It is a bit spicy, so be warned! We both also got tenders. Probably some of the best tenders I've ever had. Juicy and paired well with the ranch. The pies are also really nice. I had a slice of the chocolate peanut butter. I'm looking forward to coming back to Tumble 22.

Yelp
Come here during the happy hour to get the best fried chicken sandwich deal- 6$/sandwich. I really loved the sand which except that it was advertised as having texas toast but my sandwich really just had two slices of white bread on it which deteriorated fast especially once the sauce started soaking in. Other than that, this was a great sandwich.

Yelp
Well... I've always loved T22 chicken but this was my first visit to the brick and mortar in RR and it didn't disappoint! I've had the fried chicken from this spot but only from take out or a delivery service, so this time was different and AHMAZING!! We actually ordered pizza to-go next door at Via, but their bar service was lack luster at best... as bar people, we are super low maintenance it like a good bar vibe with a friendly bartender and Via wasn't that... so we wondered next door while we waited for our pizza and we are so happy we did!! Tumble 22 was pretty busy but the bar was open and the bartender welcomed us with a great smile and great attitude! Cody (possibly Corey, I had a few drinks) was really helpful on the menu and really friendly, so much so, we ordered some delicious fries with korean flavors and fried chicken while we waited for our pizza!! LOL... Great service, nice regulars to chat with and the food was great! Definitely look forward to visit soon!

Yelp
The chicken is top billing indeed. And I love the different degrees of heat that is offered. My margarita simple and plain just like I wanted it was very flavorful and you can actually taste the tequila, which I like very much. My server was also very knowledgeable and nice. I had greens and the coleslaw, which could use a little bit more sweetness to it. I like this Fried chicken over any other place in Austin like a Lucy's or something like that.

Yelp
This location has both indoor and outdoor seating as well as limited seating at the bar. They have quite a few tv screens (mostly at the bar) and few throughout the dining area which is nice. I usually get the OG sandwich but I stride away during this visit and ordered their 3 piece tender basket. You get 2 sauce choices, sides was $2 extra. The tenders were good, seasoned to perfection and the sauces - ranch and comeback were my favorite. We started with their Heavenly deviled eggs and it was solid, the bacon on top gave it that extra oomph. Service was excellent. I've never had any issues with service here thus far.

Yelp
Had a great takeout experience. The bartender where you place the order was very friendly and it only took about 10-15 mins. The chicken was hot and fresh even after the ride home. The Mac was super cheesy as well! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
My husband has been craving fried chicken and this restaurant has been on our list. We finally tried it and loved it. Service was excellent. Since it was our first time, our waitress walked us through the menu and the more important hot scale ratings! The fried chicken was excellent...perfectly fried and the right about of heat for his liking. He got the potato salad and collard greens and those also hit the spot. I got the 2 piece tenders...grilled! You can still pick your heat level. They also do sandwiches grilled if requested. This hit the spot for me as well. We had some tasty cocktails...adult lemonade and a Paloma. Both were refreshing and good. We finished off the dining experience with a big slice of chocolate pie. It was a delicious experience for us and we'll be back again.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place since it opened and finally got a chance to last week. It was a busy lunchtime on President's Day and there were a handful of people waiting for a table so I verified we could seat ourselves at the bar. Sam was our server and she was so good about telling us what she recommends. There are multiple levels of spiciness to select from based on your tolerance. We ordered more than we typically would since it was our first time there and we wanted a sampling of what they offer. I got the lil chicken sandwich (dang hot) with broccoli slaw and an order of heavenly eggs. My partner got the 8 piece bites (no hot) with fries. We also shared an order of dirty fries which came with queso and shredded spicy chicken. Food was delivered quickly and it was fresh. The lil chicken sandwich was actually quite large so I can only imagine what the full size sandwich is like. The Mayo and slaw on top help counter the heat nicely. The broccoli slaw was crunchy and delicious. Only nitpick is that it has golden raisins and I'm not a raisin person. My partner loved his chicken bites and claims it is now his favorite chicken from a restaurant. The heavenly eggs were okay and doesn't quite live up to the rest of the menu but the dirty fries...I mean, what's not to love about fries drenched in queso and chicken. Very happy with the food, speed, and service. Will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
was looking to order some food and was in the mood for some fried chicken sandwiches. So I decided to try tumble 22 and I had a great experience doing so. I have been in person to the tumble 22 S. Austin location but this is my first time trying their round rock location. Their service with speedy and the food got to the apartment rather quickly. I decided to give their fried chicken sandwich a go. Their fried chicken sandwich came with pickles and a chicken breast. Since I'm not a huge on spies, I got there wimpy chicken, which is no spice at all. . I wish I would've tried the one spice level because I feel like the chicken wasn't as flavorful as I had before from here. I got the little chicken sandwich and I thought that one came with coleslaw but unfortunately my sandwich didn't have any and I really wish it would've come with the coleslaw. The bread was very yummy and buttery. The chicken was tender and hot when I got it and the pickles paired perfectly. I definitely recommend stuffing the chicken sandwich in their sauce because it's so good. I had to get a side of their dirty fries which come with pickles, cheese, and chicken, and they were very very good. This might be a delivery thing but the fries did come a little soggy, but I know when i've tried it in person They are always crispy. Nevertheless, it was still very good. Overall, the delivery experience was good, but I do think that to get the best experience out of tumble 22. It is definitely in person and when it's freshly cooked.

Yelp
Was excited to try Tumble 22 since I've seen them around town and have heard promising things. We drove up to the Round Rock location since it looked newer, but the inside itself is pretty small (max capacity is 85 people). Since we dropped in on a Saturday during rush dinner hour, there was a little bit of a wait, but it went by quickly and we ultimately ended up sitting at the bar top. OVERVIEW: I'd give this a 3-3.5/5. The food was good and at a fair price point, but the chicken wasn't the best I've ever had. Pretty basic, and if you get anything white meat it's (naturally) a bit dry. I felt like it lacked flavor, though the heat levels are good variety. QUICK FACTS: - Parking? Yes, a standard lot. - Reservations? No, not needed. - Online ordering/delivery/takeout? Yes, via their website or partnered delivery services. FOOD RATINGS: - Deviled eggs (3/5): Sort of odd they give you 5, they should just give you 6 for an even number of eggs. Flavor was solid but simple and basic - nothing special. Nicely filled and perfectly cooked. - Dirty fries (5/5): This was probably my favorite thing we ordered. I love the crispy, skinny, salty fries, and the queso and pulled chicken was awesome. Tasty and filling! - The Southern (4/5): The only dark meat sandwich option, and it was great. The bun was really good, too. Sort of like Hawaiian sweet bread. Mac and cheese tasted like Luby's. Nothing crazy. - Cobb salad (3/5): The pros are this comes loaded with stuff, including avocado and deviled eggs. The ranch dressing was bland, though. It was almost like the salad needed salt and pepper, as it lacked overall a great salad flavor. The chicken tenders were good.

Yelp
Visited here again...and the food was still great, service still great, and again love the decor at this location!! Sunday afternoon late brunch or early dinner will always be enjoyable here!

Yelp
I recently visited Tumble 22 for lunch and was disappointed. My entree choice was the chicken tenders with Mac and cheese as the side. The chicken was tough, over cooked and bland - really needed some seasoning. The Mac and cheese was tepid- probably would have tasted better at a warmer temperature. We were greeted pretty quickly, it took a little while for the food to make it to the table. Makes since, since the food was not that warm. Sadly, the waitperson never checked back, other than to deliver the check. A drink refill would have been greatly appreciated. The ambiance was not that great, better flooring and insulation would have helped with the over vibe of the place. Jammed packed, lots of noise and just felt blah.

Yelp
Lunch today Service was great. Wife had a salad which was very good. I had the OG sandwich it was good did not seem very fresh like it had sat in a warmer etc. fries were fresh and hot but a bit salty

Yelp
Been a couple times for lunch. We are really impressed with the quality of the chicken sandwiches. Everything from the fresh, warm bread and crispy chicken to the sweet pickles and slaw combine great with the right amount of spice for anyone. My wife thought they were significantly "better than Chick-Fil-A" for those that typically go an alternate route. I ordered the little OG with a side of dirty fries. The little OG was plenty big for lunch (bigger than most takeout sandwiches), but I had to also try their dirty fries. I like spicy and am generally disappointed with the level of spice added to spicy chicken sandwiches. I went with mo' spicy and it was just the right amount for me. The dirty fries were also good, but I couldn't eat them all with the heavy sauce. The inside has a farmhouse style with some interesting use of doors for decor. It has a bit of a diner feel. The only issue we've had both times is that during lunch they seem to be slow. The food is very clearly made fresh, so no complaint there, but if you are wanting to get in and out quickly around peak lunch time, you may have to wait 20 minutes for food. The service itself was very attentive despite only having a 1-2 person wait staff, so I expect the kitchen gets backed up. If they were able to speed up the process without impacting their quality (I realize this may be an unreasonable ask), this would be one of our regular lunch spots. Right now, we can only consider it if we have some extra time.

Yelp
Well the SOTM for 2023 is a wrap....Its been a long journey but worth every bite. The top 3 in order of my favorite is Augusts Hot Pastrami OG...simply the best as All the ingredients are some of my favorites, and I could taste every component of the sandwich.... Februarys Tupelo Hot Honey....my first time even trying hot honey, which im now hooked on....and last but not least is Decembers The Holly Jolly Buffalo...which for me was a nod at where hot chicken started...Buffalo sauced wings and Blue cheese...Classic flavor and totally hit the spot. Thanks T22 for the great adventure, and know Im looking forward to my classic 4pc fried chicken.

Yelp
I ordered takeaway from here. I'm a huge fan of hot chicken and usually get the spiciest or second spiciest flavor everywhere I go. I ordered the cluckin' hot 3 piece tender. While the chicken was perfectly crispy and juicy on the inside, I barely got any spice at all. I got some hints at spicy flavors on maybe 1/3 of a piece but it was short lived. I wish I could have gotten to experience more of the spicy flavor but just beware that you might need to sit in and eat if you want to get the full hot experience (at least I hope so...)

Yelp
I've had tumble 22 before at other locations and it's generally a hit. For this location, the chicken is pretty good though I wonder if I might have come on an off day. My group ordered dang hot chicken and it ended up coming out with like no spice whatsoever. But the waitress was friendly and was willing to get the kitchen to remake it and brought out some spice for us for the messed up order we ended up keeping. I also ordered the szcheuan fries which were okay. Others might like it but it leans more on the sweet side with the hot honey. I wasn't a huge fan of the combo and it made my fries a bit soggy, but portion size for $8 wasn't too bad and comes with some pieces of chicken on top.

Yelp
I've heard so many good things about Tumble 22 and was so excited to eat here. We were seated within 15 min which was awesome, but then the wait began. It took forever for someone to come by to take our order and then it took even longer for our food to come out. We were seated at 1:33 and didn't get our food until 2:40, which was ridiculous! The restaurant itself didn't seem that busy, especially since we were seated so quickly, but I think they only have one waitress serving the whole outside area. That being said, the food itself was so good! The chicken was hot, crispy, and so juicy. I got the mo' hot level which is perfect for someone who wants it to be spicy enough to make their nose water a bit but not too spicy that you have to stop and drink water between each bite. I love the sweet pickles, and the kale Cole slaw because its a really nice light cool vegetable to cut through the heaviness of the chicken. The macaroni is also a hit! It's kind of got the taste and feel of processed white American cheese but in a good way. And the fries taste really fresh, and they're perfectly salted.

Yelp
3.5 Stars My friends and I went here for Sunday lunch and it was only a 15 minute to get a table. However, it took almost an hour for the food to come so that was slightly frustrating as we were all pretty hungry. I ordered the Lil' Chicken Sandwich with Regular Mac-N-Cheese. I really enjoyed the sandwich. It was really juicy. My spice level was hot but it didn't taste hot at all to me. I wanted to start on the lower levels though because I wasn't sure how hot it would be. I was craving Mac-N-Cheese which is why I wanted to try this place. It's cheesy and tasted pretty good. I think they used a white cheddar and I prefer a yellow cheddar so that's why I wouldn't order it again. If you like white cheddar, this will be fine. I tried some fries from my friends dish and tasted they fine. Nothing special to me. Overall, I would probably go back but maybe on a less busier time and indoors (there were a couple of mosquitoes that kept flying around us).

Yelp
Some of the best fried chicken around town. If you love spice, this is the place for you. They have 5 levels of heat (Hot, Mo' Hot, Dang Hot, Cluckin' Hot and Stupid Hot) my personal favorite is the Cluckin' Hot. It has enough heat to burn my lips and still maintain all the flavors of seasoning and the juicy chicken. I also request the bone in and jumbo tenders be dropped fresh when I order. Yesterday I forgot to ask for the jumbo tenders to be cooked as I ordered and they got cold pretty fast. Lacking the juicy and too hot to eat effect. It does take about 20 minutes when you ask for it to be cooked fresh. I guarantee you, it is worth the wait!!! I am a huge fan of their Mac-n-cheese, pickles, pecan chocolate toffee pie Cluckin' Hot 1/2 mix 9/10 Hot Jumbo Tenders 8/10 Mac-n-cheese 8/10 Fries 7/10 Pickles 9/10 Pecan chocolate toffee pie 8/10

Yelp
Can never go wrong with Tumble 22's HH. We got our regular 2 jumbo tenders & mac and as always we left satisfied. The food came out quickly, our server checked on us frequently (even though I'm pretty sure she was the only one) and made sure our drinks stayed full she even brought to go drinks without being asked to do so. We had buttermilk pie for dessert and it was delicious. We arrived right at the start at HH, there weren't many people there and the vibe was super chill and laid back.

Yelp
Laura was our waitress! She offered us amazing suggestions since it was our first time. I got the The o.g sandwich (no kale cole slaw) Laura recommend the hot dang hot for our dry rub . It was soo good chicken was crispy and juicy. My wife got the 1/4 White (hot). The chicken was seasoned to perfection! We do not suggest the beans although some might like it we weren't fans. As far as customer service goes we were satisfied! The only other downside is it's card only no cash!!! You are still able to tip with cash.

Yelp
Back for more! It's been a while at this particular location, but we try not to miss our Tumble 22! Just to be honest, we've visited a few other hot chicken spots since our last visit, but Tumble 22 is the only place that actually serves the PIECES of the whole chicken! We all ordered the dinner plates (eg: 1/4 dark or white), and I ordered the 1/2 white, to have leftovers. To us, the 'Mo Hot' spice level is still the best:, tolerable and tasty!

Yelp
I've been to Tumble 22 several times and let me just say that the food and service this visit was excellent! Contrary to other reviews stating the service wasn't up to par, ours was outstanding! I ordered the 2 thigh entree with the Cluckin' Hot (2nd spiciest) with a side order of collard greens, and my wife ordered the Cobb Salad with ranch dressing and chicken bites. My order came out steaming hot, fresh out of the oven, crispy and juicy!!! The spice worked itself in as a delayed type of heat. Just how I like it. The collard greens were perfectly seasoned and had a bit of meat in it to complete this awesome dish! Wifey's salad was fresh with crisp lettuce, ripe avocado and tender/moist chicken bites that were a perfect bite size. Most places cut their chicken in larger portion sizes and make you cut them up before eating. Not Tumble 22, they serve you the perfect size chicken bites for your salad. Our ice water glasses were promptly filled! It seemed like every time we took a sip! Server was attentive, and food was perfect. Enough for a 5 star in my book!

Yelp
We usually go to the Burnet location, but stopped through here as we had plans in Round Rock. There wasn't a wait on a Saturday evening around 7, which is a pleasant surprise. However the service seemed a little off. When they dropped off our orders, two of our party's orders were mismatched. It wasn't until they each took a bite to realize something was off. When we told the waitress, she asked "okay. do you want me to do something about it?" with a deadpanned face. We were a little put off and so my friends just switched their bitten meals, but I don't think it was the right approach. Later on we told some family members we ate their and they also complained of service. Probably won't return here at this location at least.

Yelp
One of my favorite fried chicken places in Austin! My husband is a big fried chicken lover and he found this place and it became one of our favorite fried chicken places. They have several locations here in Austin and I've only tried two locations, but everything (food, cocktail, beer) was pretty much the same, so you can go to any nearby. When you place an order, you can choose dark meat only, white meat only or do both. I loved they have various combo family pack and they also have kids items, so this place seems perfect for family with kids. I really like their 60/40 which comes with frozen margarita and beer! For chicken, it's always hot and crispy and I LOVE their seasoning. They have 'Wimpy / Hot / Mo'hot / Dang hot / Cluckin'hot / Stupid hot' and we picked Dang hot which had some kick, but very delicious. We asked for Cluckin'hot & Stupid hot seasoning on the side just to try what it's like and OH MEN, stay away from these two! LOL Service is always fast even when they're packed with a lot of customers.

Yelp
Ok... so I was going to give a 4 star and I decided on a five and this is the reason. When we got in the staff was very nice and helpful cheerful and gave there best opinion. We sat and got the menu. Pretty basic chicken menu. Thighs fries and Mac and cheese. You know. I was going to get the stupid hot as I love spicy food. The server was like man if you want to enjoy your meal go with the one below. My wide said the same thing. So I went with the cluckin hot... it was very tasty the flavor was unlike any other chicken place. So I decided to ask what there stupid hot tasted like... and it is what it's called stupid hot! My mouth was on fire from just a quick taste. Thankfully I didn't order my whole meal like this. Only bad thing super super greasy! My wife loves this place so we will be going back!

Yelp
Forced to pay 20% tip for having a "large party" when there were only six of us. Waitress came to our table when we ordered and when we got the check and not a single time in between. Never was offered a refill for my drink.

Ok ok ok you wanted my review well now your going to get it! this establishment is right off of I-35 in Round Rock. It provides outside dining as well as an inside bar seating and overall nice layout. Let's get to my pros and cons shall we?!?! Pros... Fast service no wait time to be seated on a busy Saturday They kept refilling my beverage without me needed to request it which I enjoyed Great customer service. The art and decor of this place is nice The deviled eggs aren't devilish at all they tasted like heaven! Yummy!!! Conssssl Some seating is a bit too close to the kitchen the restrooms. I was very disappointed in the chicken. Looks so tasteful and full of flavor but was very bland. I will say the hot sauce helped me enjoy it. I believe they don't take cash I was asked to pay with card, may of been a temporary thing I didn't ask any further. Thanks all! I will give this place another try in the future hopefully my experience will be a bit better

Yelp
I suggest you go somewhere else! The only good thing here are the servers when they are not on their phones. The chicken was cold, fries cold, bartender either talking to some guy she liked at bar or on her phone. Take out orders just sat on a counter, at least 30 minutes. People were waiting for take out sitting at the bar. One guy ordered as we got there sat at the bar and did not get his food until we left. 1hour later. Plus it was freezing inside.

Yelp
Currently, I'm sitting at the bar, and no one is working the bar. The hostess saw me sit down and said nothing. Another gentleman comes in after me and sits at the bar, and a server walks up to him, greets him, and hands him a menu and silverware. No one has said anything to me. There was a gentleman already at the bar when I arrived. After I sat there a good 8 minutes, someone tells the hostess that the guy that was there when I arrived had been waiting for a while. She then proceeds to greet him. After that, another server walks up to the gentleman that arrived after me and greeted him, letting him know someone would be right with him. He stated that "she/me" was here first. She never acknowledges me and walks away. Finally, the big guy comes behind the counter, greets me accordingly, and takes my order. He did nothing wrong, but because of everything that led up to that, I decided not to tip. I always tip, I feel guilty for not tipping him, but I wasn't happy.

Yelp
7 months ago I left a 3 star review as the food was good, but the service was not good as it was very slow. I decided to go back last week and give it another try during the lunch hour and this time I had a much better experience. The food was great like last time and the service was also quick and good. This time I tried the Stupid Hot spice level and I enjoyed it. I got the two piece white. I had not seen any pictures of the Korean Style to know what it was like so I ordered an extra wing Korean Style. The Korean style was good, but not really for me as it was pretty sweet along with the spicy.

Yelp
Let's start with the star of the show--the food. Tumble 22 Chicken exceeded all my expectations with their mouthwatering dishes. Every bite was a burst of flavor that left me craving more. The chicken was cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The seasoning was simply divine, striking the right balance of spices. The menu offers a variety of options, from traditional fried chicken to creative twists that will tantalize your taste buds. Be sure to try their signature sauces as well; they add an extra layer of deliciousness to the already fantastic dishes. Now, let's talk about the service. Our waiter was on top of their game throughout the entire meal. They were friendly, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. They patiently answered our questions, provided excellent recommendations, and ensured that we had everything we needed. The service was prompt and efficient, yet never rushed. It truly enhanced the overall dining experience and made us feel valued as customers. Kudos to the staff at Tumble 22 Chicken for their outstanding service! As for the aesthetic, Tumble 22 Chicken has managed to create a cool and inviting atmosphere. The interior design is trendy and modern, with a touch of rustic charm. The attention to detail is evident, from the carefully curated artwork on the walls to the stylish lighting fixtures. The ambiance is lively yet comfortable, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a meal with friends or family. The seating arrangements are spacious, and the overall layout of the restaurant allows for a pleasant and relaxed dining experience.

Yelp
This located used to be a solid place for good food but within the past 6 months or so the customer service for take out has been less than lack luster. They don't season the chicken as requested and slop together their sandwiches. The fries are always cold and hard as though it's been sitting out for an extended period of time. I can go on but they really need to do better or become one of the many declining businesses in the area that choose to fall into the category of many restaurants who lose customers due to the horrible customer service and disgusting food quality.

Yelp
Food is just good, but Austin spot has better chicken taste. The manager(chief) wasn't friendly asked to change my sit but he care about the money than his customers. Never going to this spot again.

Yelp
I was not particularly thrilled with this restaurant. Let me start by saying the service staff was great and the ambiance is good. That's where it ended for me. I got chicken tenders of course but I guess I was expecting more from a sit down chicken restaurant. First of all it took like 20+ minutes for our food to be ready and it was very simple. The taste was kinda bland for me also. I'll give it one more try but for now, it's just chicken. Nothing special

Yelp
Best fried chicken in Austin. Service is always friendly. Aside from bone in fried chicken, they have boneless chicken fingers and chicken sandwiches.

Yelp
Very clean and nice atmosphere. Every side they sell, slaps. Greens, mac and cheese, beans, fries, all good!! Trust the spicy levels and if you can't hang just get the "wimpy" like I got for my kiddo because WHEW! Or just be ready to follow it with bread. Oh yeah and the pecan pie is mmmmm *chefs kiss*. Definitely going back.

Yelp
Food was great, love the spice. Our server Maria was very friendly. Was very happy we were able to order everything without her having to ask a bunch of questions. Will come back again.

Yelp
I used to like T22. today we went there at 1:30 ( Sunday) Nobody at the front , a young couple in front of us was also waiting to be seated. the kitchen had MANY chicken dishes ready to be run to tables but nobody was attending. after 4 minutes we get seated. menu surfing, decision made, nobody has come yet. we waited ... nobody came to our table ( table closest to the revolving kitchen doors). we look for a waiter or waitress , only a young kid running food who seemed confused. we left

Yelp
Food was amazing don't get me wrong. The service was great and fast. Not overbearing or underwhelming at all. BUT! I did get food poisoning. Which is cool ig. The decorations are cool even though we're not coming back.

Yelp
The food is absolutely awesome. My only issue is the hostess sent me to the bar to order. After ordering I waited outside for the 15 minutes I was told. I came back in and stood at the bar for another 20 minutes only to be told the To go orders are picked up at the metal counter near the pies. Put up much bigger signs or tell us where to go. I specifically asked the guy behind the counter after I'd been waiting for about 35 minutes about the bags behind the counter. He tells me that those are pies. I asked him at that point will he be calling names when the orders are ready, he says yes, After another almost 30 minutes I finally ask about my order and he tells me he just bagged it up. I called BS. I will never do this again at this place. Write add an hour to get a chicken sandwich. Nope, it's not that good.
