Where to Eat Houston’s Most Flavorful Fried Chicken

"This Austin-born Texas hot chicken joint offers fried chicken in myriad ways — including its tenders, chicken, bites, sandwiches, and the classic bone-in pieces. With the option of Korean style fried chicken or original, Tumble 22’s pieces are always served at your preferred heat level, whether that be the traditional “painless” or the maximum Ghost-pepper fueled “stupid hot,” plus two sides, including the mac and cheese and collard greens, which are made fresh daily. Treat yourself to the gooey pecan pie, which features a layer of fudgy chocolate and topped with whipped cream." - Brittany Britto Garley

We were greeted & seated by Makayla, who turned out to be our wonderful server. We started off with the delicious dirty fries. We were talking about the sides, as it was our first time here, and she magically appeared with a first timers sampler with the said sides. Answered all of our questions, we were going to have. The Mac & cheese, broccoli salad, ranch beans & coleslaw were our favorite. The staff is very active, and we love to see it. The food is definitely fresh and worth the wait!! The PB & cookie dough shake was delicious. You’re in for a treat. Thank you for having us. <3

First time here, and definitely coming back soon. The customer service was amazing. Every staff we encountered were polite & welcoming. But our server Yasmin is what made my experience truly enjoyable. She’s nice, patient and funny. Salted caramel milkshake was 10/10. The OG sandwich with Jalapeño heat 9/10 Mac & cheese 9/10 Sampler plate of sides. Great idea and thoughtful. 10/10. All the sampler sides were delicious but had to get that Mac and cheese 🤩

I've had plenty of really fine fried chicken & sides here, but I actually popped in for pie this evening. Their chocolate cream is just about perfect - not to sweet and the layer of dark chocolate cocoa powder on top adds a gentle bite that really makes this special. BTW, I'm usually team tatas, but there boneless thighs are glorious at a great price. Be sure to say hello to friendly managers Jackson and David when you visit! Highly recommended!

Google
First time there was July 5, 2025 and as I'm writing this review on July 7 I already have a hankering to go back! First off, the service was amazing - like seriously top-notch, great vibes from beginning to end with non-stop check-ins from Hung (our server) to see how our table was doing. Thanks, Hung! I wish I had the greeters name too because he was super nice although he might've been a manager welcoming us in. Still, the service here seriously puts others to shame. Second, the fooood 🤤 Be sure to let them know if it is your first time there because they will hook your table up with a little sampler platter of their sides and two heat levels of chicken to try out. My favorite sides were the Ranch Beans, Mac N Cheese, and Seve's Collard Greens. Thirdly, Hung hooked us up with 1 wing in the hottest heat level (made with Ghost Peppers 🌶 🔥 ) and I can confirm they were indeed hot. My friend and I took bites from mostly the skin and I think we saw God for a brief moment. Try it if you dare! Oh, that Peanut Butter smoothie was frickin' amazing as well. Such a good drink for that intense ghost pepper chicken lol All-in-all I had a legit experience here. Like, more than just dining at a cool spot - I had big fun. Can't wait to come here again

Giving Tumble 22 five stars makes all my other five-star reviews seem cheap by comparison. Apparently this place is known for its service--I had no idea, but all I can tell you is the other reviews are 100% truthful; it really is that good. The food was very good, too, and the portions were extremely generous. Yasmin deserves special praise for the lengths she went to to make sure I had a great experience. Next time I'm in downtown Houston I'll make a point to come back here!

Google
This was my first time here. It started off really good but kinda fell apart. The guy that sat me, immediately brought my drink. I started off with the Deviled Eggs and they were good. As it was my first time in, I got a nice little sampler of sauced and not sauced morsel of Chicken and a sampling of 5 sides. Again, this is only available as a small sampler to first time guests. As you cannot get all dark on the ½ Chicken. I choose to get 2 - ¼ Chickens but then you get 4 sides, YAY! It took about 20 - 30 minutes to get the food, which is alright, because it tasted like it was freshly cooked. I didn't care for the Fries or the Slaw. But I'll just know for next time. The Macaroni and Cheese and Beans were really good. It all fell apart, with refills and check backs. More Napkins, Salt and Pepper were needed and nobody was there. I got a refill, but it was not immediate. So I'm sitting there with Hot Chicken and nothing to drink. After needed another refill, the drink NEVER SHOWED BACK UP, LITTERALLY! Nor did my server... I asked the guy who originally got my drink for another. He came back with it, again, immediately. Then I stopped another server to get my check and pay out. I plan to come back but fix the refill issues, across the board. Bring a new cup if necessary, come on. I would have gladly stayed for Dessert had everything not fallen apart.

This was our first time visiting this location/restaurant. The manager was super friendly and we found out that they this amazing service where they provide first time clients with a complimentary sampler plate and give them a taste of their best items on the menu. Id definitely recommend them. Their chicken is absolutely juicy and delicious and cooked to perfection. Definitely give it a try. A perfect place for happy hour with friends or date nights.

This establishment has the potential to become a beloved fixture in the downtown area. The quality of the food and beverages, combined with the exceptional service, makes it a wonderful place to visit. Last week, I enjoyed the Little Larry with my cycling group, and it was a delightful experience. This week, I placed an online order for pickup shortly before closing. As it was my first time ordering online, I received a complimentary order of Szechuan Fries. I requested the sauce on the side since I was picking up the order, and they were served hot and were delicious. I also ordered two boneless thighs (painless) that were cooked to perfection, crispy, accompanied by coleslaw. I thoroughly enjoyed everything. Given the generous portion size of the fries, I was able to save the two thighs for lunch or dinner the following day. I highly recommend this place. 10/10

Yelp
The chicken was incredibly tender with a good amount of spice and paired well with the coleslaw in the OG sandwich. The pecan pie shake hits the spot with the right amount of sweetness. The portions were worth it for the price. Service was top notch. Did not disappoint and we will be back again

Yelp
Tumble 22 was sooo goood! Omg this is probably my now #1 chicken spot! The service was great, and they have so much seating! The vibes were laid back and casual. Our server asked if it was our first time there and we replied yes, then he proceeded to bring us a "first timer platter" which had sample of sides and 3 samples of the bites which were "painless, hot, & mo'hot". I ended up going with the hot 2 piece tenders which were so good! They had a light kick but nothing crazy. My boyfriend got the 8pc mo'hot bites which were a bit more on the spicy side..he couldn't even finish them lol! We got a pecan pie shake which contained actually bits on pecan pie which was so yummy! It wasn't overwhelmingly sweet and was just right to satisfy my sweet tooth. If you're thinking of dropping by please do, you will not regret! lol

Yelp
Went back with friends who have never been. ARY was our server and she did a great job explaining the sampler to our friends! I got the OG with dirty fries again and was stuffed by the time I was done. But really solid meal with good flavor! The drinks here at the bar were just OK, maybe safer to get a beer here. The peanut butter chocolate cake was much saltier then usual this go around and the slices got smaller!

Yelp
First time to this location and it was worth the drive. Our server was super friendly and attentive. The collard greens were delicious, as well as the chicken. We finished off our meal with a wonderful piece of pie. This location has a nice, mellow ambiance.

Yelp
I saw this place with its good reviews on Yelp and wanted to stop by for a try. It's a nice place with friendly staff and an inviting atmosphere. The food came out at a reasonable speed and our server, Makai, was nice, too. However, the food wasn't what I expected, and my family and I didn't enjoy it. We each got a fried chicken sandwich and none of them were good. We got The O.G., Korean-Style O.G., and the Tupelo Hot Honey. The original was super boring with nothing special about it. Both the Korean and hot honey styles were sopping wet, to the point where it was difficult to pick up the sandwich. The liquids made the bread soggy and everything unappetizing. There was too much honey on the hot honey sandwich, and the gochujang sauce on the Korean one was just unpleasant in general. In addition, we ordered the Szechuan Fries to share. Personally, I liked them, but my mom and sister did not. They had more of a sweet wasabi flavor than Szechuan pepper, but I didn't mind too much. The only good thing we ordered was the Pecan Pie Shake. But, how hard is it to mess up a milkshake? They blended a piece of their homemade pie with some ice cream and whipped cream. It was delicious, but not enough to make me want to come back again. Save your money and go to another fried chicken spot.

Yelp
Stopped in here for lunch as a friend told me one of his favorite hot chicken places. Location to and from parking lot is slightly difficult with traffic. Heading north on Houston Ave you have to cut across traffic, but leaving and going south you just got to hope and pray no traffic is coming up from the from the underpass. Stretch your neck as far back as you can see, hold your breath, grip steering wheel till you see the whites in your knuckles, hit the gas and pray. Even as I was walking over to the restaurant we almost got hit by a car pulling down the street so I suggest going to the sidewalk and crossing there. Safety Share for the day. After we were greeted and seated we met our waiter Devon immediately. Gave us menus and drink orders promptly and as we were pondering over heat levels he gave us a complimentary small tray of items to help us with our decision. It had 4 shot glass size servings of their slaw, collard greens, broccoli slaw & mac along with 3 nuggets of chicken with spice levels 1-3. Id have to say all items were pretty tasty and cooked very well on the chicken. Heat wise I needed to go up some. We split our order: Dang Hot Tupelo Hot Honey - had to add sides for extra money. (Collard Greens & Mac & cheese) This dish is very tasty yet level 4 dang hot spice was basically non existent...and weirdly the level 3 on the sampler was spicier. But again one was a straight piece of chicken and his had slaw and honey so it could be the combination of the items. Devon gave us sides of level 4 & 5 to sprinkle on the sandwich and it helped. Dang Hot dark 2 piece Korean style which comes with 2 sides. (Collard Greens & Broccoli Slaw) Believe when they say Korean style they are adding the gochujang sauce to it. Honestly the flavor and the chicken itself was moist and very tasty, but the skin not crunchy at all, not sure if the korean style is what caused it. Sides Collard Greens - typically I'm not a huge fan, but these were amazing. Bits of bacon and pulled pork in the mix was a great addition Mac & Cheese - loved the creaminess and texture but it had no flavor - spruced it up with the extra level 4 seasoning which did the trick. Slaw - if you like slaw you would like this one, nothing spectacular, but I don't think I have had a spectacular one. Just great in general. Broccoli slaw - nothing bad but not my thing, but the consistency of it was a bit different as it stuck more together like there was something like cheese adhering it together...not sure if it was cheese though. Spice levels 1 no spice 2 mild 3 Jalapeño 4 Serrano 5 Habanero 6 Ghost. Would recommend

Yelp
Tumble 22 has really good food... Almost perfect. Since it was my first time to attend, my buddy Vik and I were offered a sampling of the sides and a few pieces of chicken to sample the spice levels. That was quite nice and I thought I would get a level spicier than the dang hot. Vik had the Tupelo honey chicken sandwich and I had the quarter chicken Korean style hot. I also ordered the broccoli salad and collard greens sides. The sides were very good. The chicken was also tasty. I was a bit disappointed with the heat level, as it felt less spicier than dang hot. Also, the sauce on my chicken made the normal Korean crispness a bit soggy. Our server was also the bartender and was very helpful with suggestions. We will return, as it is just a short drive from downtown. Prices not bad, in the $10-15 range.

Yelp
It had been a hot minute since I went to Tumble 22 after being disappointed with the service. Glad I went back since boy did I miss that Cobb salad. The server was super friendly from the time we sat down. He asked right away if my parents had been before. When they hadn't be got them a sampler tray to let them taste things prior to committing a side. The overall restaurant wasn't packed which I felt sad about since I want them to stay open at this location. There is plenty of seating and typically decent service. The food is constantly good rather than a lot of places near by which is a hit or a miss.

Yelp
Tumble 22 is a chicken shop chain based out of Austin, but expanded out to other parts of Texas. The 6th Ward location is on Houston & Center, just outside of the metro part of downtown Houston. The main draws are their fried chicken and their chicken sandwiches. They use different flavor profiles to create sweet and savory offerings. They also have monthly offerings which vary with the season. For example, the current special is the Stuffed Dipper OG, which includes stuffing, cranberry sauce, Duke's mayo, and some gravy dipping sauce. The filet is huge and crispy. The gravy is a great compliment to the sweet and saltiness of the cranberry and chicken. You also have control of the spice levels of almost all of the entrees, with 6 different levels. I also ordered their deviled eggs, which are 6.00 for 5 eggs. They each come with a piece of crispy bacon, and also come with the choice of spice level. I chose the 2nd level of Hot. They were creamy and delicious! They have a good variety of sides including, fries, greens, slaw, potato salad, and mac and cheese. I ordered pickup and it was quick. They have a window on the side of the building off of Center, and you just have to ring the bell. My order was placed online and the time quoted was spot on. The order was accurate and the food was still hot when I got home. Service was great! Overall, good quality food and service. They are one of the better options for quality chicken, in a city that has plenty.

Yelp
One of the Art District neighborhood go to spots. This joint ebbs and flows in terms of patrons, but the food always delivers! Food & Drink - 5* The central theme here is chicken of different variety at whatever spice level one can tolerate (no pain, hot, mo hot, dang hot, cluckin' hot, stupid hot). And let me tell ya, I love spicy and.this place can bring it. I made the mistake of stupid hot once, I don't think I'll ever do that again. Whether it's sandwiches, salads, tenders, bites, bone-in - dark, white, mixed they can make it as mild or spicy as you want it. The dirty fries can practically fill one up if alone! They do have a simple cocktail and a full bar to go along with your meal. Service - 3* This is the primary pain point when visiting. I've had instances where the service was fantastic and the server very attentive, other times it's just painfully slow. Order takes forever to be placed, the food is a crawl at coming out, or even getting the bill slow. It just varies widely in my experience so YMMV. Cost - 5* The value is there! The drinks are reasonable and the food is well-proportioned to pricing. I know it's always subjective but I think they definitely know how to keep one coming back with not just quality meals but reasonable pricing. Overall - 4* The only reason I'm putting this one at a 4* is because it just isn't consistent with service. If they could get that worked out the place would easily be a 5* in my view. I recommend anyone stop in and give this a try, but maybe do it when you aren't in a hurry or there are less folks visiting?

Yelp
As soon as my fiance & I walked through the door we were welcomed with smiling faces & compliments! Set the tone right from the start... The food was delicious and fulfilling! I had the Three Jumbo Chicken Strips (mo hot) & those alone were enough to fill me up. But of course we didn't stop with those, my fiance ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich in which he couldn't stop talking about! Between the two of us, we enjoyed the Dirty Fries! If they come out fresh then they are delicious! We had just asked for them to be served with our food, so they weren't as fresh (which that is on us, not the restaurant)! Overall, a great restaurant!

Yelp
Lots of chicken places popping up everywhere but this one is definitely one to try. The chicken had really good flavor and the signature comeback sauce had a little kick as well. Had coleslaw and the broccoli salad as sides, the cole slaw was really tasty and creamy! I'd probably pass on the broccoli salad, expected a little more on the creamy side as well or more flavor, but that lacked in my opinion. The deviled eggs, you can choose spice level so that added a nice kick to those as well. The place was busy and clean and nice aesthetic, from all of the above perspective, definitely like 4.5 stars, the service however was more 3 stars. I think it's pretty new so can be understandable but the waitress didn't know what beers were available and there's no list at the table. When asked a question on which beer of a certain brewery was on tap she said I don't know and just stood there, somewhat expected she'd go ask but instead just said she'd give us more time. So we ended up walking up to the bar to ask about certain beers but then the bartender seemed like he couldn't be bothered, so that was somewhat disappointing considering how much we liked the food. Hopefully service won't be sacrificed just because the place seems to be pretty busy.

Yelp
This is the third location I tried for Tumble 22 I really liked it I came back again and again until I visited all three locations! I ordered to go and this location has a specific to go and online pick up area outdoors The parking lot is big! Entrance can seem weird but once you're in the parking lot you'll see there is two big parking lots - lots of space to park! Interior is very spacious and clean, this location is quite new. The service is always on point. What I ordered : - Big Mac & cheese - Dirty Fries I added the Mac and cheese on top of the dirty fries and this combo was perfect. I'll continue to go back to Tumble 22 love this place!

Yelp
If you are craving fried chicken then you have found the right place. The food is fantastic and the service is just as good. The deviled eggs with the bits of candied bacon are not to be missed. We tried the 1/4 chicken white. I loved everything we tried with the exception of the broccoli salad. This is a favorite and I didn't care for theirs. Their chicken and sauce are fantastic. The hot chicken had the perfect amount of heat. It does take time but all good things come to those that wait! This chicken is worth the wait!

Yelp
Me, the wife, and our 1yr old came here on the way to an Astros game. Location is just outside of downtown with free on site parking, making it convenient a spot as I can think of before fighting for downtown parking. The interior is pretty par for the course for a hot chicken restaurant, I think we all know what they look like now, but it was clean and well lit. Service was quite nice, we ordered quickly after being sat immediately on a Friday evening. Server/bartender offered to put in our little ones order to come out asap and it was very thoughtful and helpful. Our order on the other hand took about 30mins to get to us. It's my only gripe with the our visit, it wasn't but maybe 50% full when we came and it took longer for us to get 2 chicken sandwiches than it would for us to get a meal at a full service restaurant. I think the reason it bothered me more than usual is because we were thinking this wouldn't be more than a 30min meal all together before a ball game. Taking as long as it did t seemed strange especially with how heavily staffed they were. The sandwich itself was quite big and the crispy texture was there without drying out the chicken. I liked how the menu heat levels were described in types of familiar peppers. Always feel silly asking places "how hot is the 'Darn Tootin' Hot level'?", and I'm sure they're tired answering. Mostly different types of sandwiches populate the menu and there's some well priced drinks and some tasty sounding desserts and pies that are there as well. Fries are a separate charge, and really didn't add much to our experience. Ultimately I think I'd come back again for a another try since the main conceit is done right.

Yelp
Came in on a Friday night and we were still able to be seated pretty quickly. Our order was quickly taken, but it did take awhile for the food to come out. When it did come out though it was piping hot, super crispy, and still super moist.

Yelp
This is a cute little restaurant that delivers in a big way. The service is excellent. The food is delicious and hot. And it's all reasonably priced. We were seated promptly, and the amazing Ary took our orders. There was a slight delay in delivery but several servers checked on us to make sure we were okay and kept us updated on our order status. The portion sizes were HUGE and everyone was pleased with their dishes. The Korean chicken was a big hit. I'm a vegetarian and they adapted a Cobb salad for me without issue. All in all a five star experience! Shout out to Ary because it was her first day and we had no idea! She was friendly, attentive and professional!

Janaya M.

Yelp
The service was superb. Ambiance is great though a speck chilly inside. If it's your first visit they will bring you a sample of each side they have plus the first 3 heat levels of chicken bites. We got the chicken bites with a side of dirty fries, a side of Mac and cheese and a chicken sandwich. The chicken bites were good, the chicken sandwich was a little plain, the dirty fries real good and the Mac n cheese good. Great place to eat if you like chicken. Also tried the comeback sauce, not a fan
google avatar

Jessica J.

Yelp
We were greeted and seated right away on a Friday night. I love the dim lighting. It made the place feel more intimate. We got seated at a corner table, so that's why maybe too it felt more intimate. The margarita was tasty! We got a sandwich and bone in chicken to share. Both were really good! I can't wait to go back and try the strips and up the heat level. We got the second lowest one and wasn't spicy to me. Usually I'm a pansy when it comes to heat but I should've got the next level up. The coleslaw paired very well with the sandwich. The food did take a while to come out, but not to the point we had to notify someone. We had time.

Yelp
After the chaos and stress of Hurricane Beryl, my family and I were desperately in need of some comforting, delicious food, and Tumble 22 in Houston delivered! Thanks to my mama n laws recommendation! We waited for about 35 mins before we were sat down, which was due to them being understaffed (Hurricane) and everyone wanting to eat there as well. First off, the chicken was cooked to literal perfection--crispy on the outside and tender/juicy on the inside, with just the right amount of spice. Shoutout to whoever the cook is! We also tried the mac and cheese, which was creamy and rich (queso based, which I'm not a fan of, but this one was great. It was a lovely compliment to the spiciness of the chicken. Each bite of chicken for me was like a warm hug, exactly what we needed to lift our spirits. Especially since it was my first cooked meal post Hurricane. The collard greens were another highlight. They were perfectly seasoned, with a nice touch of heat that made it more savory. Our server Trey provided unfiltered raw customer service that resulted in much needed laughter! In a time when comfort and quality were needed most, Tumble 22 provided both in abundance. To me, if you're looking for a place that serves flavorful Southern comfort food, especially after a rough time, Tumble 22 is the place to go. Highly recommend!

Yelp
we had a bad experience with service during a takeout order - took 30 mins post the pickup time for us to actually get the food. That said though, food was solid once we did have it

Yelp
This place was super chill.. I sat at the bar and ordered The Korean BBQ O.G. And also a few drinks which had me drunkkk I don't remember who my server was but he was super helpful and had all of my food out on time! What did surprise me, was that it was the whole chicken with the bone........ on the chicken sandwich! I bit into it and found out the hard way.. after that I just stripped away the meat and just ate it with a fork and my hands

Yelp
Have loved tumble 22 since my experience in Austin and this Houston location is no different. I've come more than a handful of times since opening and no complaints! It's good and cheap tbh for a meal. It's a little odd to me that it's not just counter service because the food seems to be on that scale but the customer service is always great. had one of the best shakes here, hot bartender recommended cookies &cream shake but add peanut butter - my god.

Yelp
We had dinner at Tumble 22 after a birthday bar hop. This was my first time dining at Tumble 22. They have a small parking lot on the side of the building. We didn't have any issues finding a spot on a Saturday evening. If the lot is full, you can also park on the street. Our server was Mike, and he was very nice and accommodating. I started with a Crawford Bock for my beverage. For my meal, I ordered the 2 Piece Jumbo Tenders and added a side of collard greens for an additional $2. The greens were a little heavy on the vinegar, but still pretty good. I originally requested BBQ sauce for the tenders, but it had a bit of a spiciness to it. I ended up requesting ranch instead and it was much better. The Painless (mild) seasoning was very flavorful. I liked them better than the chicken tenders at Gus's. At the end of the meal, we asked Mike if we could get a birthday dessert for our friend. He checked with the manager, David. After a few minutes, they both walked out with a slice of toffee pecan pie with a candle in it. We then sang happy birthday to our friend before sharing the pie. The pie was really tasty and very sweet! I get the impression that they don't normally do birthday desserts, so it was extremely nice of them to do that for us!

Yelp
The heat levels are on point!!! Don't underestimate the hottest level. It gave me the hiccups it was so hot!!!

Yelp
Chicken is exquisitely tender and flavorful. Spice levels do not fib. Better than Mico's and Main Bird. Decent prices and a pretty nice interior with some booth seating in the bar area.

Yelp
Ok, don't hate me for the low stars.. I came here for the first time with a group. It was the last stop of the night for our Yelp friends' bday. The crew was already seated when I arrived, so there were no issues grabbing a table on a Saturday night. Service - was fantastic, I would rate this a 5 stars. Mike, our server was great and went above and beyond. David, the manager, stopped by our table, greeted us warmly. Pro's- -We also were able to receive a pecan/toffee pie at the end of the meal to celebrate the birthday boy. The manager David came out to present it. Excellent and thoughtful service. -We were able to get individual tickets at the end of the night for our group, with zero hassle. Food - was mid for me. But everyone else loved their meal, so I'm going to assume the food is solid and try again. I ordered the lil OG sandwhich -fried, and the dirty fries. The dirty fries portion was small, in my opinion, but maybe this just is what it is. I thin Overall, the service was fab, and I mostly appreciate that.

Yelp
Food was great! Service was great! I really loved how they give a "new comer sample plate" with all of sides and 3 levels of spice for their chi Ken so we could make a good choice

Yelp
I came here for lunch on a whim, and was so happy that I did. The location is where the Old Ave., Café used to be many years ago. I ordered a Cobb salad that came with two chicken strips, what I should say were very large chicken strips. The salad bowl was simply huge, and had such an array of offerings on it that I was very pleased with the portion size, as well as the quality of the food. While we were looking over the menus, I presume a manager, who is named David, came over and asked us if we had any questions on the menu asked us if we had been there before, and engaged in the general conversation about the Restaurants concept. This was real pleasing to all of us diners because he was real helpful and explaining some of the history behind the restaurant. In conclusion, I would certainly come here again. I was very impressed with the ambience. Very impressed with the portions of food, and very impressed with the taste of the food.

Yelp
Dined in on a Saturday at 4:30 for a pay of five and was seated immediately. Not the best location, parking is in the back. We were craving fried chicken but it did not hit the spot. Chicken was lacking flavor and the sides are not great. You can substitute different chicken parts which was nice. The dirty fries are good. It was the first thing that came out so we devoured it. The pickles that come with it are tasty. We ordered all the sides and it was bland.

Yelp
We heard about Tumble from a food reviewer on Facebook so we decided to come in for lunch. We let our waiter know it was our first time visiting and was offered a sample platter to taste the sides and some of the heat options. What a wonderful offering! That helped us make ordering even easier and feel more confident about what will be served. My meal was served fresh and tasted delicious. I had a great dining experience and cant wait to return.

Yelp
We had an alright little lunch here. Like others have stated it is a pretty chill laid back vibe. They have parking right behind the building for NO CHARGE WHAAAAT! I tried the sand which of the month which I thought was alright it was my mistake that I didn't know it was a thigh piece not tenders. I probably would have enjoyed it more as tenders. As for the heat if you like heat go above mo heat (jalapeno) i thought it was going to be spicy but it had just a little heat. We also had their loaded fries which I was all over they were great. all in all its a good little spot in downtown houston

Yelp
Came on a weekday afternoon for early dinner with my cousin. The restaurant wasn't busy so we got sat quickly. The restaurant has plenty of space with a full bar and a couple tv's. We got our orders quickly - I got the og sandwich with the heat level on the medium side (mo hot). The sandwich was delicious - the breast was incredibly juicy with a crispy exterior and the bun was toasted well. I personally think I could have gone a little bit spicier, but overall I enjoyed the sandwich a lot. I know a lot of hot chicken popping up, but this place is definitely a solid choice! Come check it out!

Yelp
We live near by, and have passed by this spot a few times...THANK THE UNIVERSE WE TRIED IT FINALLY!! Truth was our server and was everything you could ask for. He was attentive without making us full rushed. On top of our drinks and needs, we didn't really have to ask for anything. The chef sent out a sample plate... with sides and tasters of the first there levels of heat. We got a sand which and tender plate, The Georgia Peach and greens with smoked turkey neck (THESE GREENS THO! IM GONNA DREAM ABOUT THEM) The two piece tender and fries (although the Mac and cheese was the favorite from the sampler) gotta try a places fries! Chicken has a solid crunch even after being dipped in the hot oil! Decor is cozy, and inviting... will definitely be returning

Yelp
This is a cool rustic vibe restaurant. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and attentive throughout our dining. I ordered the Tupelo Honey OG sandwich with the 'Mo Hot' spice level. I'll admit that I could barely taste the spice in this one. The chicken temperature itself was extremely hot, but not at all spicy, which was surprising. The sandwich is tasty and you can clearly see the honey glaze evenly dispersed. They do not offer any kind of seasoning for the fries aside from salt so they were just okay.

Yelp
Had good quick service. Had the buffalo sandwich with a chicken thigh and it was amazing. I wouldn't change a thing. Bread was soft and the hot sauce was delicious. Would go back again.

Yelp
Saw this place advertised A LOT on Instagram the area is in intimidated me because i assumed it would only be street parking but they actually have a parking lot! The place itself is such a vibe with plenty of seating and a full bar. It was my first time there so they offered me a sample plate of chicken and sides on the house and IT WAS SO GOOD! Now onto the food, these were probably the best tenders ive had in a while they were so juicy and very filling for it just being 2 tenders. Overall, everything was VERY affordable and AMAZING i cant wait to come back! Also huge shoutout to my sever he was cool

Yelp
I love a chicken joint and that's exactly what this is. I placed a to go order just to try out the sandwich and heavenly eggs but if you sign up to be a member they gave me free fries which was great and brought my price down to just $15. I give the eggs 4/10 seems like they're missing something. Fries are good maybe a tad season salt would make them pop. And the sandwich with coleslaw is different. I just got the hot flavor and it's not spicy at all. Just right for me. My order was ready for pick up. You do have to get out and go to the window to pick up your food. There's a ring doorbell on the window. I think this is a cool spot for lunch or an inexpensive meal for dinner.

Yelp
This was our first time at Tumble 22, and they offered a fantastic starter plate that allowed us to try out the different spice levels and samples of sides. The introduction to Tumble 22 was amazing, it was very well done. We ordered the 2 piece tenders and Szechuan fries. The portions were huge! I would recommend coming here for a casual night out.

Yelp
Well, the chicken looked cooked on the outside... and was raw on the inside. Thankfully they remade the order, but it was wild that it had even occurred. We got Mo Hot and the Dang Hot spice, both of which were similar in heat level but tasted of the pepper, so choose based on that! Bbq sauce was sweet and smoky and the ranch was fine. The sauce containers were half filled.

Yelp
I love this place in Austin... still consider it one of the top hot chicken places over there. I picked up a 1/2 chicken combo from here since I was in the area to compare, and it was just as juicy and perfectly cooked as the original store. I am very glad they opened another location here! The online ordering process was pretty easy, and pick up was simple. I didn't go inside but it looked like it had some good outdoor seating areas. If you sign up for a rewards account, you get a free Sichuan fries! These are amazing fries if you like cilantro, and you can order them as a side of the combo too! I took a star off because the spice level was no where near as the original store, I got the dang hot and I felt nothing... I assume this was a mistake, because in other branches I need 3 drinks with that level.

Yelp
If you're a fan of quality chicken joints...adult beverages and an entertaining atmosphere...then this is your place! The last time we were in Houston, we only had the chance to come here a handful of times, but I absolutely loved trying all their different chicken sandwiches. If you're adventurous, then try getting something "dang hot" or above. If you order something from the bar, you'll be pleased...drinks are very reasonably priced and of good quality. If you're an old fashioned or Moscow mule fan...you'll be very pleased. Each time we came in the service was great. I have zero complaints about the accuracy or speed of service. Everything inside and out was clean (and I have big expectations). Lastly...price...figure for lunch or dinner you'll spend at least $25/pp...more if you're having multiple rounds of drinks.

Yelp
LOVE their Caesar chicken salad. I added grilled chicken to mine. Some items listed on the salad description seemed weird to me but once I bit into it all the combinations really do work together so give it a try without substituting anything first. I can't remember a lot about their sides. I do remember liking the baked beans and thinking I could've done without the mac and cheese. Inside was clean and service was prompt. Good family dining place that is kid friendly.

Yelp
Food was great ,service was great and the ambiance not loud and very chill. Great location and great spot to try some good food. The server and management present were great all food was fresh and full of flavor. The only down fall about this first visit was the fact that the kitchen was messing orders, everything else was great. I highly recommend the sandwiches they are delicious. I will be going back maybe just for the pie since that's the only thing I didn't try . If you're in there definitely stop by.

Yelp
Chicken is good. It's always made fresh and never stale... However, I hate all of their sides and I do not like the fact that you can't substitute a side for a salad or even just buy a side salad on the side. I unfortunately don't order anymore because it seems like a waste to pay for two sides and not want any of them and unfortunately paying a la carte is exact same price as the meal.

Yelp
Sit your keister down at the best bar seats I have ever had the sheer pleasure of lounging in--perhaps in my life. Bold claim? Maybe, but I dare you to find another bar stool that gives you a welcome hug and let's you settle in for the long haul. Tumble 22's shinning star is definitely the bartender, David! David and I go way back to when, prior to visiting the establishment, I called to inquiry about the level of dog-friendliness. Thanks to his guided expertise, I chose to leave my gigantic furbaby at home to experience this gem myself. David was also incredibly knowledgeable of the menu and food pairings. He was attentive and helpful at every turn. Their HEAVENLY deviled eggs with the dang hot rub: perfection. The blend of the creamy egg yolk, kick of the spice, and subtle undertones of brown sugar--you won't be disappointed. But, oh my...the chicken is divine. The mo' hot was plenty of heat for me. And their comeback sauce--while I can't correctly explain what it is--paired nicely with my chicken. In short, this could be your new favorite neighborhood haunt.

Yelp
The chicken was fresh and the service was fast! I got the bourbon mule and it had the right amount of kick. The atmosphere is chill and family friendly. Parking maybe tight but well worth it. Chicken was delicious i went with mild and it was perfect!

Yelp
The food was amazing, the service was even better. They asked if it was our first time there and brought out little samples of their sides and chicken with different variations of heat. Once we picked what we wanted the food came out pretty quickly and was delicious, everything was fresh, and hot.
