I’ve gone a couple times now. We have gotten uni and some other fish from the vendors. Overall good quality fish. Prices are decent. They do sell out so go early if you can. Parking can be difficult if you go later in the day. Parking is free if you go early as well. We did get the food from the stall as well. The food was good, but pretty pricy. The uni was fresh and large. The collar was good as well. Overall great fish market. The food stall is good, but pricy for what they give.

Google
Great Uni hand roll! Expect to wait 15 to 20 minutes. Worth every bit of it. It is hot in the sun so wear a hat. Get there early because the great stuff sells out fast

Google
Tuna Harbor Dockside Market, San Diego. Great selection of local seafood. Check the eyes for freshness! Chat with the fisherman, learn about the local seafood industry. Ahi, Squid, Skipjack, Albacore, Cabezón, CA Sheepshead, Tuna, Opa, Urchin, Escolar,Bonita, Mackeral, Swordfish, Wahoo, Halibut, Crab and other shellfish. Some of the vendors will even grill up a skewer of tasty push! Great location to photograph, people watch , engage in friendly conversation and of course enjoy purchasing the freshest seafood in San Diego. Plenty of parking. Pro tip: bring you cooler!

Google
First time here and love the fresh caught fishes. I ordered poke and ceviche and ate them on site with no sauces. Perfect!

Google
This was a fantastic thing to come across on a Saturday morning very next to downtime. Full of stalls for sale of fresh fish and a stall where they cook fresh and serve you.

Angela Chen

Google
Small but nice market! The uni and fish we got here was nice and fresh :) Cool to see people breaking down huge tuna. Lines for the prepared food like poke looked long and prices high though. They give free ice at one of the tents in the front and some vendors won't accept card so carry cash or use venmo/zelle.

Google
Walking here at night, feeling the ocean breeze and taking in the peaceful harbor views, is truly relaxing. The sound of the waves, the distant city lights reflecting on the water—it’s the perfect spot for a calm evening walk after dinner.

Google
I don't know much about the fish market that occurs. I'm guessing in the morning sometime....but what I do know is about the pier attached to it. This is a great place to go and relax also to get a awesome view of downtown and the bay. With Coronado across the bay and views as far as Mexico.

Yelp
Only been here once. This is outside Seaport Village. I really like this experience. There's a vendor where you get whole fish in the ship where they clean and cut up whole fish for you. There are vendors where you get the portions of fish. Ask if they're sushi grade if you're planning to eat this for sashimi. There's also a poke place near the end of the pier. You have to wake up early. But it was a relaxing morning. I'd do it again once I can eat sushi again.

Yelp
Wow! The most amazing tuna poke bowl I have ever had! Does not compare to any other poke bowls I've had. The most freshest tuna (just caught in the morning) and marinated with edamame, scallions and papaya (?) it was small cubed fruits. Simply amazing! I could eat this everyday for every meal.

Yelp
This market sells freshly caught fish every Saturday. Make sure to go early to get the best fish it sells out fast. There's a area in the back where for a few dollars you can get your fish cleaned. You can also purchase tuna or shrimp ceviche ready to eat for $15. So delicious and fresh. Great service, great location and fun to see all the fresh fish ... I would be here every Saturday if I lived close by.
google avatar

Yelp
Wasn't there. Guy said they stopped years ago so I don't know. Only one place to buy fish

Yelp
Amazing varieties of fish and crabs at the market. I'm from Colorado but a huge sea food person, so we even flew out to SD and bought fish from the market to bring back to Colorado. Their fish are fresh and reasonably priced. You can even order fish online and just pick up from the market, which makes the process of purchasing their fish a lot easier. They even have a booth to help you clean your fish after purchase. Also give their fish and chips a try, they are freshly made with their fish and well battered.
google avatar

Lori T.

Yelp
great fresh seafood - great variety. something for all budgets. thresher shark for the fish and chips was ok. that fish would be better in a batter. swordfish ceviche was good. there was very few ordering food but only one person to take order, money and serve so kinda slow going. it was fun to sit on the wall and watch the people in line to get their fish butchered.

Yelp
Not only is it the greatest to support local fisheries and their families, but everything here is extremely fresh and reasonably priced. My boyfriend and I have made this a monthly adventure because we are morning and fish people haha. Parking is usually pretty descent when heading down there early so that's a plus. It's nice to grab a coffee beforehand and cruise the boardwalk. My boyfriend is a fisherman so we love to come check out what's going on and purchase something for the week, like Opah. Definitely recommend coming here if you love fish, or just to check it out. Always a beauty view!

Yelp
The spot pawns are to die for!!! It can be eaten 3 ways, raw, boiled and as soup (or rice congee) Waking up early isn't a problem for me. But they offer online pickup (starting at Saturday 1if you are not so much of an early bird

Yelp
You want fresh fish in SD? It doesn't get much fresher than Tuna Harbor Dockside Market! Tuna Harbor is an open-air seafood market along San Diego Bay that operates on Saturdays from 8am-2pm. They sell what they are able to catch locally, so selection is dependent on the season and also the success of the fishing trips. There are two lines. The left line is for shellfish. Right line is for fish. If you want your fish cleaned, check out the farthest tent in the back after making your purchases. They only charge a few bucks per fish. Moreover, they sell leftover heads and spines from that tent if you're trying to make stocks/curries/etc. Moreover, there may be a boat docked right along the market. They usually sell fish as well (it was tuna last time I visited). ___T I P S & I N F O___ -Get there early. I mean EARLY. The market is popular and parking is limited. You'll want to secure a parking spot and get first dibs on the best fish at the market. -Some vendors accept card/cash. Some vendors only accept cash. Come prepared. -Ask questions! It's always helpful to know about flavor profiles and best cooking methods. -They do not deliver. You need to attend the market. -You can purchase a limited selection of seafood for curbside pick up. Online ordering opens at 5pm on Thursdays and closes at 7pm on Fridays. Missed your pick up? No problem! Your food will be donated to local first responders. -Check their social media on Friday afternoon as they usually post their Saturday offerings. Still, that's not a guarantee. I was sent to the market to pick up a specific species of crab, and the fisherman had to "call his guy" to check if any were coming later. Apparently, the water was too warm that morning and none were caught. Overall, this is one of the best places in SD to buy local seafood. Stop by if that floats your boat.

Yelp
Get here an hour early, have cash ready because some vendors are cash only. Expensive fish ! 18lb yellowtail was 135$, 14lb "king" salmon was 125$. Over 250$ for two fish. At the end of the dock for ... 0.65$/lb ? , there are two people that will cut your fish as requested, however lines and wait times back up (obviously. There's only 1 company, 2 people cutting) I've gone three times this year, got fresh fish that are great quality that I can serve as sashimi, nigiri, and sushi... 2/3 times the fillets get mishandled either from the offload or from the cutters, and your fillets don't look so nice when ya get home. If ya got the money, and the patience to show up early and wait for your fish to get cut up, worth it

Yelp
The Fishermen's boats are docked along the San Diego Harbor, where they sell freshly caught fish.

Yelp
This market is an excellent place to sample the local seafood scene. The market sells fresh seafood such as tuna, lobster, and shrimp, which can be purchased and cooked at home. The environment is bright and relaxed, with friendly sellers who know what they're selling. The fish tacos, cooked with freshly caught seafood and handmade salsa, are a must-try.

Yelp
You gotta love seafood to groove on this spot. Wasn't feeling shark fish'n chips so I changed my mind. I think the seagulls had a better time than the tourists walking along the pier. I heard what sounded like a sea lion coming from a boat docked there. Hopefully it wasn't captured. Now that I have visited I won't return because the only appeal for me is gazing out at the bay.

Yelp
OMG I love this place! Great place for a Morning walk and finalize buying super fresh fish to take home. This place opens only Saturdays and it is located by Seaport Village. Fishermen bring their catch and voila! Fresh fish for ya! :) There was a fish Sandwich stand so we were able to have breakfast before buying the fish. 12 bucks made with fresh fish and spicy Mayo served on a French bread. Yummy! We got yellowtail and albacore so I made poke when I got home. You can buy the entire fish and have them filet for you or they have some ready to go. Such a cool Morning!

Yelp
Brilliant SD resource. Every Saturday morning the ocean comes the harbor side by Seaport village. The fish was swimming around just a few hours ago. The tuna is spectacular...I make sushi from it. The pricing is terrific. The only downside is the line...which can be enormous. Luckily you can order online Friday and pick it up Saturday morning in their drive by lot. An absolute must for fish lovers...you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
They weren't lying, those box crabs do taste like king crab. However, they aren't as meaty; their legs are shorter and thinner. These critters are super spikey, not so much that they will draw blood but they progressively pick away at the top most layers of skin so that it looks like you have really dry, flakey palms after eating these crabs. And, it is somewhat uncomfortable for a few days afterward. Lessened learned, went to Amazon and bought some knife resistant gloves for next time and they worked perfectly. The vendor said that these crabs are hearty and can survive a couple days in a bag in the fridge. However, when I spoke with my mom about it she said, "Look, I've cooked a lot crab, and it won't last more than a day. Cook it now and eat later if you must. But, it will get mushy if you don't cook it the same day. I am not kidding!" So, since my family never jokes about food, I've always cooked the crab same day. All you need is to fill a pot with about 2 inches water, boil water, then place crabs in and simmer for about 7 minutes a pound. Grab a small crab pick fork type utensil, put your gloves on and you're ready to crack some crabs. The shell, while spikey, is thin so you can crack the whole thing with your gloved hands (I pulled out a nutcracker for no reason). Tastes great plain or dipped in butter.

Yelp
the fish may be as fresh as can be, but $20 poke - NOT worth it. $20 fish and chips, definitely not worth it. the best part of our meal were the french fries and tartar sauce.. i would suggest just purchasing the raw seafood and prep it yourself at home but even the shopping experience itself was disappointing. we genuinely wanted to know about the seafood and which would be best for us but they made us feel like they wanted us to just buy fish and leave.

Yelp
This is basically fresh as fresh can get. Stumbled across the fish market randomly. It was just a day that we needed to get out and happened to be down in San Diego. The parking lot we were at had signs about the fish market. Honestly, didn't think anything of it. Thought it was another farmers market. When we finally came across it, I was pretty impressed. Like I mentioned, it's fresh as fresh can get. There was a good amount of vendors with fresh fish. They're basically right off the boat to your table. Fisherman's were prepping the tuna straight off the fishing boats. Prices were really good as well. I'm sure they catered to all the restaurant in the city but with everything that's going on. It wasn't as crazy as it should be. But still a good amount of people were purchasing fresh fish. This is one pretty impressive fish market. Straight out of the water to your table. Fresh as fresh can get.

Yelp
COVID CONDITIONS: Masks and social distancing are in effect, only a certain amount of people are allowed in at a time. Visit was in September, before the other known COVID variants were discovered. My envy of San Diegans continues as we visited the Tuna Harbor Dockside Market. To see the wide variety of fresh seafood available to the public at very affordable prices is great. You get high quality seafood straight from the source at your fingertips! It's a win-win situation for both fishermen and local community. I'm from Hawaii, and I've been to the fish auctions and fishmarkets there. Some fish there are available to the public, but are nowhere as cheap as SD. Guess that's why most Hawaiians catch their own via pole, boat, spear, or net. On this visit, I saw Opah, Bluefin Tuna, Sheepshead, Live Uni, Live Amaebi, Mackerel, Black Cod, and many more. We got a Dockside Special plate from Island Life Seafood s and a couple of good sized Live uni at only $7 each and they were very SWEET! Go EARLY for best selections and come prepared with a cooler. Curbside pick up and ice are provided for those who place orders ahead of time. ALOHA!!! SHAKA METER: \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ 5

Yelp
Outstanding open air fish market on the pier off seaside village with great views of both downtown and Coronado(Navy ships). I had Thresher shark tacos from the Loaf and Fish stand. Superfresh, delicious in cilantro/mayo. The portion is large with alot more meat than most restaurants and less filler lettuce, tomato etc. Service is A+ by Owner Jolene and family. We had a brief conversation but felt like talking to an old friend. Her husband is a fisherman providing alot of the catch and are San Diego natives. I had a warm feeling supporting local fishermen and eating the best Thresher shark I ever had.

Yelp
I heard about this open air fish market for years but never made it down. After a week of eating pork and beef, i was feeling kinda heavy and needed something lighter and a change of diet. I came down just before they opened at around 7:45 and easily found parking. Being early in the morning the sea is very calm and you get a nice view of the bay and dock area its rather peaceful, i could see why joggers would run by seaport village along this route. A line had formed to get it but it goes rather quickly once they start letting people in. The line on the left goes up a slight ramp to 2 specific vendors who sell crabs and uni. The line on the right is to the rest of the fish and food vendors. I ended up getting a live uni and a small (7 pound) yellowfin tuna. The tuna is cheap at $4 a pound, but its for the whole fish; Head, tail, guts and all. You can have it cleaned and broken down into loins for a $5 donation at the end of the pier but i chose to see if i still had my fish cleaning skills. I took it home and broke the fish down and put all the guts and unwanted parts in a bag and tossed it in the freezer till garbage day. So yes i did it myself but its totally worth $5 to have someone do it for you as it gets rather messy. I like this venue because you can support your local fisherman and you get a fresher product than you would at the store. There were also a few food stands which featured fresh fish and even listed which ship each fish came off of. There was also an uni stand where they cut open live uni for you to eat. I ended up eating the uni that night and the tuna over the next few nights, it was delicious and so fresh. I would consider going here again when im going to throw a party and need some fresh fish or uni. ---------- Tips Get there before it opens at 8 to find a parking spot, and to get better pick of the fish. The metered spots aren't metered till 10am so you're in the clear from 8-10 bring a cooler for whatever you purchase, they will put it in plastic bags, but you don't want fish juice dripping all over your car (unless you've always been looking for a fish scented car freshener)

Yelp
This fish market was so fun to visit! It's a bit of a drive for me so I've only had a chance to go once, but really enjoyed my time there. The fish are reasonably priced for how fresh they are and there are a number of stands that you can visit. I'm not sure if this is always the case but there is a separately line for crabs so make sure that if that's what you want, you're waiting in the right line. There is a booth at the very end for cleaning, but we didn't use it so I don't have much insight on that. Many booths accept both cash and credit card though an additional fee is charged on the card. Parking before 10 AM is free so I would definitely advise going earlier (we ended up in the parking lot right in front of it but it seems there are a lot of lots around the area as well). Can't wait for the next visit!

Yelp
In adversity, when the neighborhood don't have the essential nutrients that came from the ocean, Tuna Harbour Dockside Market make a promise to San Diego that we shall eat well and stay fit. Learning these families pulling together to fight for us to bring fresh fish, shrimps, crabs, sea urchin and keeping paychecks going, I am moved. Therefore, I ordered 3 big sea urchins, 2 big box crab s that look like tanks and a barrel of whelks for my friends who don't eat seafood lol telling them to help out the local business. Sure enough, they all went oooh and ahhh chowing down the whole platoon of seafood. Whelks 15 mins in boiling water Box crab 15 mins in boiling water Put a timer on and no lid necessarily please don't double dip the water lol discard it. My man braved through cutting the sea urchins with a kitchen sisccors he kept saying it's fine but get yourself gloves. Dipping sauce: sauteed finely chopped garlic, onion, 1 tiny spicy red pepper in oil, put aside, in a bowl adding 1-1/2 TB soy sauce, little sugar, 2 TB water to taste, then add the earlier sauteed stuff into the bowl. Good for crabs. Mayonnaise & siracha for the whelks. Lol My friends thought it would be expensive so they told me they don't eat seafood. $45 two 2.5-3 lb box crab, 8 handfuls of whelks $11 and 3 uni for $22. Not bad for 4 adults. Btw, bring your own ice box, order ahead of time by 7pm Friday PST. Therefore, you park your car, 3 hours max w/ credit cards, walk around the dock, taking photos, make your way into the restaurant to help out, then to the shops nearby. Last buy more fish at the site, then pick up your car then drive to the tent that says "online pick up." Please place your ice box on the ground, open it yourself. (Your mom doesn't work here and it's for safety reasons) They will ask you for your last name, surname, first name to locate your items. they rapidly place them into your box and they will shovel ice onto it. Tell them how far you drive, they will gauge it accordingly. I left the creatures in the box whole time while fixing my rental. I checked in them once in a while, it's colder than my fridges. So I decided it ok. Went to my friends' home to cook in the early evening, surprised to find all the mofos inside moving and wanna fight me. ICE still ICE.

Yelp
not all the fishermen are honest about their product. I bought the whole albacore tuna .... and it was not fresh... I figured it out only after i got home and started cleaning and packing for the freezer. The head was stinky and flesh of fish not firm.... $70 down to the drain... and my trust in this place is down to the drain as well... it is disappointing....

E B.

Yelp
This is a nice place, but managers/organizers should have a rule not allowing any customer buy above a certain limit. We saw a couple of people that had come with suitcases!! At around 8 AM, they bought an entire inventory of some products and put it in their suitcase and rolled them away! Clearly no family( even large) can eat that whole thing even in a week!, so they are either commercial use or buying for their entire tribe!! Which is not cool because none was left to people after them, despite all the effort to get there!
google avatar

Jan T.

Yelp
Cannot get any fresher than this. I had uni right out of a sea urchin shell on top of some poke. Everything was perfect--they added just the right amount of sriracha as well as sesame oil. The cucumbers were a nice change of texture!! Forgot which stand I got this from. I think the world "islander" was in their name. Truthfully, although everything is 100% super fresh, I would appreciate cheaper prices. I tend to spend a lot of money on food already so I am a bit used to the prices but from what I remember this bowl was at least $20. Again, super good, but the prices could be lower in my opinion :P I think you would attract a lot more people even if you could shave off a dollar or two! I hope we can get back to visiting the market soon! (assuming it's been closed recently due to the recent ongoings)

Yelp
Cool place to shop for fresh seafood. The market, which features seafood caught by local fishing boats, is located on the dock behind Seaport Village. This place is seafood lovers' favorite place to get fresh seafoods. It only opens on Saturday at 8 am. The line was very long by the time we got there by 9am this week. We peeked to see what kind of seafoods they have. It looked like the market has several stalls that were offering varieties of seafood choices. Some stalls sell lobsters and prawns while others offer sea urchin and crabs. They have the seafood for all tastes. For people who prefer cooked seafood, there was another line for cooked seafoods. We didn't have a chance to check out this line as we ran out of time. Next time we should come a bit earlier to avoid the two hour wait.

Yelp
Fresh and Yummy Seafood during this pandemic. Curbside Pick-Up was quick and efficient and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the ultra fresh spot prawns and ahi tuna! Can't wait for this pandemic to be over and come back to walk the dockside and see what a fresh catch is all about!!!
google avatar

Ren R.

Yelp
After buying your fish, you fall in line and pay them to clean/gut your fish. It took an HOUR because there's just two guys working there.
google avatar

Caroline J.

Yelp
I love coming here every month Saturday mornings. Parking is pretty easy as there are a lot of spots and lots of people are coming in and out. I typically am too lazy to go super early and usually get there around 10 AM, and since I normally just get the oopa, which isn't high in demand. The quality of the fish is incredible and is reasonably priced. If you choose to get the huge fish and have it cut up, it's an extra charge for them to clean it and relatively the same amount of fish at the end.. so I just prefer just to get the precut pieces. Sometimes you can also see the boats pull in and cut the fish in front of you which is pretty fun to watch. Overall I'd definitely check this out at least once If you are in the area for some quality seafood

Yelp
I adore this fish market! We got there early on a Saturday (around 8:15 am) and it was already quite busy. We had no problem, though, shopping for everything we wanted including UNI (soooo good), sashimi grade tuna, opah and swordfish. The fish was exceptional - we sliced the tuna into crudo with a lovely sauce that day and grilled the opah another night for dinner. Excellent.

Yelp
I admit to not being as much of a seafood fan as my wife. She wanted to visit this place, and thus it happened. The market is located on a pier between the Midway and Seaport Village, but much closer to Seaport. There were four or five individual vendors displaying their catches. All the usual suspects were here, tuna, crab, halibut, stingray, snails and others. You could buy a whole tuna, even. I think the personnel selling the fish are the ones who caught same, because after telling my wife debit cards are accepted, the sales woman needed assistance in actually recording the sale using a cellphone. My wife showed her how to do it. You can't go wrong with cash, though. There was also a vendor selling seafood sandwiches and fish tacos, but the price, $12 seemed a bit high, given the product served. I bet tourists went for them, big time. We arrived a bit late-ish, around 10 AM, and many varieties were sold out. For the serious seafood buyer, I recommend getting here at opening, which I believe is 8 AM. They close when out of product or 2 PM, whichever comes first. By 10 AM, several vendors were sold out, or nearly so. Parking is available at the metered lot adjacent to the Fish Market restaurant. It gets crowded, so get there early.
google avatar

Anne E.

Yelp
Fantastic. Local seafood and you can order in advance or buy on the dock. They sell out fast but it could not be fresher
google avatar

Esther C.

Yelp
This is a review for loaf & bread which is a pop up stand on the pier. The fish they get is fresh from the nearby fisherman and it tastes like it! We got the ceviche which had halibut and it was bomb. So fresh and the right amount of acid The taco was opah and it was good and the sandwich was probably the worst out of the three- just regular veggies and nothing special other than the fresh grilled fish. Get the ceviche!

Yelp
Having lived in the East Coast for many years I suppose I have been spoiled by the Fish Markets in Washington, DC and Baltimore. I always thought it odd that San Diego did not have one. This problem was solved about a year or so ago. We now have Market that sells fresh Seafood and the good part is that the vendors are the fishermen and their families. Admittedly it is a small market and it is only open from 8:00 to Noon on Saturdays, but it is a good start. I usually get there just after 8:00. Arrive before then, and there is a long line of people waiting. Often over a hundred. On a typical Saturday they have about 30 different kinds of Seafood sold by about a dozen vendors. There are also stands that sell prepared seafood like fish tacos and fish sandwiches and of course yummy sea urchin. There is also a stand that cleans and scales fish. Prices are decent for the most part. Certainly cheaper than most Supermarkets and very, very fresh. This is fish, crabs, lobsers, etc. hours out of the ocean. It's a really good deal if you buy whole fish. I often just go there to look. It's great people watching and it's fascinating to look into the boats watching the fishermen cut the fish (see my photo). If you buy there you are supporting local fishermen and their families and not some corporation. Plus it's fun to go. See you next Saturday morning! I am the guy with camera!

Yelp
They're incredibly helpful and informative. I LOVE that the uncles on the boats were cutting up the fish in some Santa Pajamas hahaha. It's not a lot of variety but you do know that your fish came straight from the boat. It's a beautiful place to visit on your walk on the embarcadero.

Yelp
$16 per pound for fresh ahi. $20 for two scoops of poke and 4 Uni over rice. Love this place. Plenty of parking because not everyone will be up that early. Bike friendly great prices bring a cooler!!

I was there around 8.08 am the line was getting long it took me 1 hour to wait in the line but it was worth it. I bought the live prawns $20/Lbs rock crabs, all fresh fish are amazing!!! I will be back next week earlier to get the sea urchin .

Yelp
Woke up early to shop for newly catch seafoods, but being there at exactly 8am seems like a little too overcrowded for me, maybe next time I'll go earlier than 8am. It's a little too pricey but you can't go wrong for the taste of fresh seafood. Bought, crabs, spot prawns, moon fish, mahi-mahi and yellow tail.

Yelp
Saw this advertised locally and Wanted to love this but... 1. Located in heart of uber-touristy Seaport village = folks that are more interested in taking pics (and pushing you out of the way in the process) than to actually appreciate/purchase the fish 2. If you do want fish, be here way before the 8am gate opening to queue up Black Friday style with the other mini-wholesales, restaurant foragers etc. ; also parking is free in the lot directly opposite of the jetty. 3. Only a handful of vendors unfortunately, even though they sported some varied fare (most major tunas, rockfish, snails, spotted shrimp, squid) 4. There is a cutting station at the rear of the market for .50/lb or $5 for anything 'big' 5. Was attracted to the sandwich vendor in the back but was discouraged by a $12 sandwich that honestly didnt look like anything to write home about. I plan to find other markets or local vendors where one doesnt have to fight the crowds or inflated prices.

Yelp
Never coming back!! After the attitude I got from the female worker in the first tent. I had a question about what kind of catches they get. And the women turned around (who I never asked the question to) and RUDELY replied back and and laughed right in front of my face. One of the owners or managers tried to ease the situation, trying not to lose a customer and tell me it was more local catch etc... but I'm a local living downtown San diegan, my friend that was with me who's boyfriend shops for local fish all the time will now not ever purchase from them. Have respect and especially during Covid, we gave you business before and NEVER again!!! I truly feel sorry for the owner and the embarrassment of how childish of behavior she had. She doesn't deserve to work with you all. Sorry.

Yelp
We went here for the first time last weekend and I think it's a must do for any visitors or residents. There were several different vendors selling crabs, prawns, many types of fish of all shapes and sizes. There was an educational tent set up talking about conservation of the ocean. We walked by and talked to each vendor about their fish and I must say everyone is friendly, out going and helpful. We decided to buy a 24 pound big eye tuna. There is a place on the dock that will clean and cut the fish how ever you like for just $5. There is also a food vendor selling fresh cooked seafood of course. If you are looking for filets or steaks already cut to take home they have those too. We really enjoyed the whole process and it's great for kids to see who and where their food comes from. We plan on going once a month for fresh fish and support local fisheries.

Yelp
Best fish market in San Diego! Everyone there is very friendly! Love this place! If you are craving for sushi or sashimi, get Tuna or Albacore there. They only have very fresh ones there!

Yelp
Love this open-air fish market! Best of both worlds-wild fresh fish and supporting local fisherman! They have an assortment of fish such as halibut, box crabs, sea urchin, opah, yellowtail tuna, lobster, mackerel and many others. So fun to see the fishing boats and watch the fisherman fillet some incredible-looking fish. Also a plus that they sell tacos and fish sandwiches if you come hungry.

Yelp
This is one of the smaller fish markets along the water but don't be fooled there is literally the best sandwich vendor hidden away in the back. Loaf and fish makes these amazing sammiches and tacos based on what the fresh catch(es) of the day are! Ours was sword fish sammich and mahimahi tacos Tacos: large chunks of mahi mahi with the usual fixins of veggies (beautifully diced). Sammich: beautiful freshly grilled (caste iron) fish on a soft bolillo bun with heaping amounts of avo, romaine, tomato, red onion and chipotle mayo. For 2 tacos and a sandwich -price was around 25 which is sorta like -.- given it's a stand BUT OmG is it worth every penny. I'd go back today if I could but it's only open Saturday's Tip: slaver it with ghost pepper sauce and it's just next level I'll never want to eat another fish sandwich again after this place!

Yelp
Many reviewers have bashed this place but because they didn't know what to expect. They sell fresh and live seafood and early birds ALWAYS get the worm. They usually sell out of their good stuff after 9am. There is free parking until 10am and if you come early enough there's usually a parking spot with your name on it. They have quite a bit of selections (spider crabs, box crabs, whelk snails, sea urchin, thorny heads, black cod, etc) but there are way too many restaurant owners that come here for their seafood which really discourages myself and casual/average people from waiting for this as they can and WILL grab all the good stuff with just one order. Probably not a place that I would go every Saturday morning but once in a while is okay. Plus I don't like paying things with cash, it's all about the plastics.

Yelp
Never again will I order from this place! Placed an order and arrived at 1235. Was told by the diver himself they sold everything and for me to come back the following Saturday. He gave me his number and told me text him next weekend and he'll give me 15 sea urchins instead of the 12 I ordered. Later that week i text him to remind him that i will be there again for my order and he told he they sold my order to someone else3rd weekend I text again, and he told me to be there by 9am. I get a text back that he sold everything by 830am! Called and asked for a refund and was told that they could not refund me back cause on the original day of pick up they were there til 1pm waiting. Bull shit!!!! I will never order from this place again!

Yelp
Some reviews and articles (and the name) may lead you to believe this is, in fact, a market. It is, in fact, dockside. It is, in fact, located on Tuna Harbor. Market is a bit of a misnomer with 5-6 vendors, a cutter, and 1 food stall. Prices aren't markedly better than some stores. Perhaps my visit at 0800 was unusual? Maybe other vendors sell out earlier? I probably won't stop by to check. Free parking till 10am at meters!

Yelp
Well First of All Date Of Visit 4-13-2019 As I arrive it is located in Seaport Village and I got there around 10:30am and Just a friendly reminder you do have to pay for Parking and it is 2.50 an hour and Max Hour is 3 hours but just park in Seaport Village and it is located just on the docks where all the boats are . So I pay the meter and start to walk in I notice people were starting to clean up already and getting ready to go . I say what !! It is sapose to go until 1pm which it opens at 8am-1pm every Saturday !! But I still headed over to see what type of Fresh Fish and Seafood they got going for sale here . What I heard was the Fish and seafood they sell here are very Fresh !! But as I walk around the dock I only see a couple of Canopy set up and one was selling quite a few fish and the other was Cutting Fish !! But I do suggest you get here early because you will miss out on Fresh Fish and Seafood just like what happened to us !! Not much to see !! Please arrive at 8am on the Dot !! They do sell Sea Urchin and it sells out Super Fast !!! You must call a day in advance to reserve yours !! I wanted to try it but none available !! There were some to see where people reserve and I ask the man cutting it open and he said please visit there website or Call early to get yours !! But Overall Not Bad If You Enjoy Fish And Seafood !! I shall Return and try to get here on time to purchase my fresh Fish next time !!!
