Glad they honour journalist credentials. Thank you! ☺️ Very happy all placards are translated into English and for many of the exhibits in the different buildings there are English booklets. Incredible restoration of the castle complex. I stayed for a couple of hours and still didn’t see all the buildings on the whole complex, nor walked all of the extensive grounds.

Well restored castle from the 12th century (improved and built also over the next few centuries) with a great view from the top of the tower overlooking the Gauja river valley. Access to the nearby area with other smaller buildings is included in the ticket. Parking is on the other side of the road and costed 2€, payable by either Mobily app or at the ticket counter. Definitely worth the visit and perhaps the most prominent sightseeing while visiting the Sigulda area.

Pretty castle in the middle of nowhere. Additionally the buildings around are very cute and the area overall is nice and calm. Great for a short visit to relax. Entrance is really affordable (3€ for students). Parking is on the opposite side of the street (2€ for the entire day). Can recommend coming by here.

The Turaida Museum Reserve is much more than just the castle: a sculpture garden, a small church, several museums, walking trails, etc. etc. etc. There is enough to see and do to fill a whole day!

It’s quite a walk from Sigulda, but buses are available outside. The area remains open until 8 PM. I would recommend visiting on a sunny day.

A beautiful place to visit! An old castle, in a park like setting. Lots to see and many walking trails to explore.

Beautifully preserved medieval castle with stunning views of the Gauja River valley. The climb up the tower is worth it for the panoramic views alone! The museum is well-curated, sharing Latvia’s rich history, and the grounds are peaceful and scenic. Perfect for a day trip—don’t miss it if you’re in the area!

Lovely place to visit. We were very lucky with the weather, which made the February visit quite enjoyable. The garden is enormous, so you can have a nice long walk. There is no cafe at the location, but coffee machines and snacks are available, which provide a nice refreshment if you decided to take a walk up the hill. It is a nice walk, very picturesque, but let yourself enough time and don't rush it or you will end up exhausted. There is also a direct bus from Sigulda, that costs 70 cents and will save you some time in case you are not the walking type.
