Turmeric & Co. - Review - East Nashville - Nashville - The Infatuation
"Thanks to Turmeric & Co., there are finally signs of life at Hunter’s Station. Taking over the former Picnic Tap space, this Indian fusion spot is the kind of place to keep in your back pocket for nights when no one wants to cook, and you have zero plans to change out of your sweatpants. But don’t mistake the come-as-you-are aesthetic as an excuse for basic dishes because the food here is anything but.
Case in point: the creamy cashew korma mac and cheese, the light and bright kachkumber salad, and the vegetal saag gnudi. All are worthy plates to lure you from another 90 Day Fiancé binge on the couch. Also, Turmeric & Co has the only full-service bar in the complex, and the drinks—using things like corn milk, elote, and garam masala—are worth a visit all on their own.

Pause
Unmute
The barren warehouse-like space has been turned into a lush, fauna-filled escape with Bombay flair. Grabbing a table inside is fine if you’re with a few friends, but when you’re flying solo or with your better half, the bar seats are set up for quicker service because you’ll grab the staff’s attention first. Getting your food and drinks can take a while here, so don’t expect a speedy exit.
Food Rundown
Vada
These crisp, savory donuts dipped in sweet homemade chutneys are a great starting point and make the run-of-the-mill bread appetizer seem sad.

Kachkumber Salad
There’s a lot more happening with this salad than meets the eye. Cucumbers, fruit, and sweet onion are mixed with garam masala and lemon to create a bright, crunchy counterpoint to the rich dishes on the menu. It’s easily one of the best things here.
Saag Gnudi
Tender knobs of gnudi sit simmering in a creamy spinach saag stew. It’s rich in all the right ways and just works.

Cashew Korma Mac And Cheese
The korma seasoning and black salt street snack crumble are doing the work here, elevating your standard mac to something that snaps your palate to attention.
Cashew Coconut Cookie
Probably one of the biggest misses on an otherwise notable menu. It’s hard and chewy, like an old piece of taffy. The flavors are there, but the texture makes this dessert fall flat." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones
