Dining at Turmeric House was an excellent experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a balance of modern touches and traditional charm that immediately set the tone for a memorable meal. Service was attentive yet unobtrusive—the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and quick to offer recommendations without being overbearing. My server ensured everything flowed smoothly, from seating to the final check, which made the evening feel effortless. The food itself was outstanding. Each dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor, with spices that were vibrant but well-balanced. The menu offered a wide range of options, and everything I tried—from appetizers to mains—was fresh, authentic, and thoughtfully prepared. Portions were generous without sacrificing quality. What stood out most was the consistency: every element of the experience, from the ambiance to the service to the cuisine, reflected care and pride. Turmeric House is clearly committed to delivering both authenticity and hospitality. Overall, this restaurant exceeded expectations and is a place I would gladly return to and recommend to others seeking excellent Indian cuisine.

Google
this was one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to in a long time all the food was very fresh. The naan was out of this world. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a exciting culinary experience.

I haven’t had an opportunity to dine in at Turmeric House, we’ve ordered takeout several times and have always been impressed. There’s always parking, and the hosts at the front desk are consistently friendly and welcoming. Our order is always ready on time, and they are very accommodating of my son’s peanut and tree nut allergies, which I deeply appreciate. As for the food, my entire family loves it, especially since they offer different spice levels to suit our varying tolerances. Two of our favorite dishes are Chicken 65 and Chicken Tikka Masala. Additionally, they serve the best mint chutney and naan we’ve ever had. Highly recommended!

Mostly I like turmeric’s all dishes except this biryani, I ordered chicken Biryani but they sent me tamarind rice with chicken. I like it as a chicken tamarind rice.

Google
Everything is amazing 🤩 I've veered from my usual mango lassi and tried the seasonal lassi and it was great! You can't go wrong with garlic naan. I also get shrimp or chicken tandoori and sometimes the chow mein. Everything I've tried, whether mentioned specifically or not was delicious 😋.

Krissy M.

Google
The lunch specials are a great deal! So much better than buffets. Everything is tasty and the service is friendly, attentive, and swift. Don't forget the garlic naan!

Google
Place is so beautiful inside my first time here already made me excited to come back!! Butter chicken amazing, lamb amazing, bread basket to die for. Best date spot if you love flavor. I could tell each plate is full of so many good ingredients and spices by the way I got full halfway through my plate!! Def eat in if you have only ordered out, it was such a good date night dinner ♥️

Google
Definitely our favorite Indian Restaurant in the South Shore. We’ve been about 25x and never had a bad meal or experience. I love the Masala Paneer and Tandoori Paneer. My fav Naan is the Garlic. Linsey loves the Chow Mein. Prices are excellent for the quality! I honestly have nothing bad to say. Very lucky to have you guys in the South Shore.

Yelp
Dinner with my friend Friday night was memorable. Delicious Garlic Nan (large pieces and hot.) Sizzling Salmon Tikka for myself (with flavored vegetables accenting the moist and tasty salmon.) Chicken Tikka Masala for myself friend. Lots of chicken and a tasty sauce. We shared entrees and agreed that our meal required us to return soon. Service is very friendly and well-informed (of the menu including drinks.) This is a serene space for memorable dining.

Yelp
We were a bit tired going out after an eventful day, so decided to order Indian food to our hotel room. 1) samosa chaat - very yummy and rich . I wish there was a bit more samosa pieces in it. 4/5 2) malai kofta- very rich curry . You could really feel the nuts ! Very tasty . 4.1/5 3) pakora - was pretty standard. Nothing too exciting . 3.7/5 The menu was looking quite promising . We might try out more items next time !

Rick P.

Yelp
I was tired of the same old Mall food court option, so we picked the Turmeric House stall at South Shore Plaza. I really liked the Paneer Panini!

Yelp
We came 25 minutes before close and they turned us away. Definitely not coming back here.

Brian L.

Yelp
I've taken food out from Turmeric House for years, but yesterday may have been the last time. We ordered garlic naan, olive naan, vegetable samosas, malai kofta, lamb Rogan Josh, and a mango lassi. There were only TWO small samosas in a ten dollar order, the malai kofta was tasteless, and it seemed like the naan were half the size of the ones I used to get. The whole order was over $75 for the food alone. They've raised their prices dramatically (since they opened the Plymouth location, where all prices were $3-4 higher than same items in Weymouth?). The lamb Rogan Josh was good, but small portion and $25? Time to start looking for another Indian place that serves the South Shore.

Susan M.

Yelp
Our go to Indian food place. Awesome food and consistent service every time. Really recommend the mango lassi, spinach naan bread and chicken tikka masala. They can do mild or spicy. Very kid friendly.

Yelp
This is absolutely one of our favorite restaurants. The food is outstanding. I would name our favorites, but the list is long. (Which is why it's fun to go with friends so that we can order more things!) The staff and service is so friendly, and the updates to the interior are great. We love trying the specials and have even requested things that didn't make the menu because they were so good. We've brought many friends who weren't as familiar with Indian food, who have become converts. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Moacir T.

Yelp
I would very much appreciate if the service was a bit faster, the house was empty, was not even near to the closing time and still took around 25 min to get the food ready. The food was good, but next time I'll just order way ahead to avoid wait for too long.

Yelp
We went for lunch and tried some new things. We had a new appetizer Golden Prawn they give 6 big size golden fried shrimp with a fresh Ginger & Garlic paste served on top of a garlic Maya sauce. Double Delicious. The 2nd appetizer Was a tried and true veggie Pakora fried balls with carrots, spinach, chickpeas, potatoes, onions, small peas with turmeric and spices. The entree was Chicken Jalfrieze. One amazing dish consisting: Boneless Chicken, onions, peppers (just a tiny bit), green beans, big chunks of cauliflower with sweet chili based tomato sauce. This yummy dish is served with Basmati Rice which is lightly drizzled with baby peas on top. We also had a freshly made Garlic Naan bread. Totally delish!!! Can't wait to go back and try new food.

Yelp
I came here for the Vegan Prix Fixe menu (Yelp Instagram giveaway winner) The menu was beautifully crafted, with each ingredient combination thought out. Personally, I found the food salty, but others did not. They thought it was perfectly seasoned. Since there was two of us, we got to try the entire menu. My favorite item by far was the butternut squash soup. This creamy, decadent soup was flavorful and comforting. We also ordered the Chicken Tikka as an addition to our meal, and this was my second favorite because I love the flavors and how juicy/tender the meat was. Not only was the food absolutely amazing, but so was the service. Everyone was super attentive and I loved how they explained each dish, even the chef came out. Big shout out to Executive Chef Anand Pokhrel for explaining his thought process of this menu. You can see the passion he has for his food, definitely try out this place!

Stewart T.

Yelp
My go to place for good spicy goat curry. Takeout portions seems smaller than when dining in though. Their lunch specials are offered for vegetarians and meat eaters. The speacials are set menues where you can select the main and startera, nd sufficient for left-overs.if I really want left-overs, I order off the regular menu which is usually enough for a second meal.
google avatar

Prity K.

Yelp
Excellent attentive service, reasonable prices and fresh food. We weee quickly seated and menus brought in with complimentary papad basket and assorted chutneys. Portions were plentiful and wait times after ordering were short. Will be back.

Yelp
Great restaurant... their tandoori is excellent, and they have wonderful pickled veggies. Overall, one of our fav in the area
google avatar

Alyanna T.

Yelp
My partner and I enjoyed the complimentary papadum crackers w chutney, vegetable momo, khasi ko masu (spicy), lamb do-pyaja (medium), nutty coconut naan, and Rupee beer - TASTE: 5/5 - started off great w the selection of green, tamarind, and red onion chutneys and flavorful vegetable momo. The coconut flakes on the naan were so good, added such a nice balance of sweetness. Enjoyed the spice level of the khasi ko masu bone-in goat, but liked the sweet sauce of the lamb even better. The Rupee beer was a light and refreshing complement to the meal TEXTURE: 4/5 - the papadum was addicting, so crisp and easy to devour! The naan was fluffy and perfect for cleaning up the sauces, along w the basmati rice that came w the entrees PRICE: 4/5 - subtotal came out to $58, which I thought was pretty good SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - left stuffed and w a couple boxes of leftovers SERVICE: 4/5 - we walked in at 6pm on a Friday and were immediately seated and served the complimentary papadum crackers! There were only a few tables occupied when we arrived, but the space was full by the time we left, w a regular string of folks coming in and out for takeout orders. Our waiter was kind and attentive ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - the space was larger than I expected and warmly decorated, w a merch section too! Good for small and large groups, and the plating looked a little elevated PARKING: 5/5 - ample parking in their dedicated lot

Yelp
My first time coming to this restaurant and I honestly loved the food. The Vegetable samosa and butter Naan was my favorite, but honestly all their food was delicious. I'm really glad I got to meet the 3/4 owners and the creator of Rupee beer! They were all so nice and friendly. Definitely need to give this place a try! Can't wait to come back with my grandpa lol he loves Indian food.
google avatar

Chris P.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food. I came here for a Yelp Elite event and got to try the kashmiri tikki, vegetable samosa, shaag paneer, butter chicken, vegetable rice, and butter naan. Everything was absolutely fantastic. I did have a Rupee beer with my meal. I don't personally like beer, but wanted to try it anyway. I did notice it was much more tolerable than other brands of beer I have had, The service was super friendly, and the restaurant itself was clean and organized.

Elle H.

Yelp
This spotless Indian restaurant is delicious! I saw an IG post of the best Indian restaurants in the Boston area and since it was in the neighborhood we decided to give it a try. Excellent food, service and yummy lentil chips with three dips to start. We'll be back soon!
google avatar

Rav H.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this place! The restaurant is very plain looking but the food was absolutely delicious. We tried everything we could on the menu, and I am astounded by how authentic the Nepalese and Indian cuisine was. We ordered so much but I have to make special note of the tandoori shrimp and khaasi ko masu (lamb curry). They were so delicious! I also have to say the service was quick snd the inside of the restaurant was very spacious and clean. There was also plenty of parking. I would 10/10 come again.
google avatar

Yelp
Staff was very accommodating and friendly Helped us pick the dishes we ordered Everything tasted great Will definitely be returning

Anish K.

Yelp
Decently good Indian food. Have seen a few misses on some orders though. Butter chicken (spicy) had good flavour to the gravy, but the chicken was not so great. Matar paneer (spicy) was a bit bland with rubbery textured panner cubes and the Matar seemed to have been cooked seperately so lacking any flavor. Bhindi masala (spicy) was a bit too oily (usually it is, so can't really fault it) but tasted ok.
google avatar

Marie F.

Yelp
As you can tell I've been here numerous times as well as many more undocumented. The food is just delicious and the wait staff is undeniably there to assist you always. The food is just downright flavorful and the atmosphere is great. Please try this place out
google avatar

Damien S.

Yelp
Fantastic Indian and Nepalese cuisine. So spice rich and super flavorful without being crazy heavy. Tikka masala was a bit light on chicken but still portioned for two meals over fluffy basmati rice. Veggie samosas are dense and fully loaded - drizzle the green sauce for an herbal complement to the turmeric. Huge, chewy garlic naan is perfect if removed from foil immediately and toasted for a minute or two. The whole shebang is wonderful, and is what takeout-ready food aspires to be. Oh, and don't skip on the papadum - I could snack on these crisps forever!

Yelp
We went here trying to find a better Indian restaurant as our favorite had changed ownership and the food quality dipped. Turmeric house was not it. First off they had 2 servers for the entire restaurant and it was packed. It was one of the longest waits we have had in quite a while to get our orders in and then to be served. Now into the food.we started with the Chaat. This was the highlight. It was well prepared and tasted quite good. We also had 2 Mango Lassis. These were well done in a very yogurt way without too much mango pulp. We have had it before where you almost have to chew it. We also had garlic naan and artichoke and scallion naan. The naan was cooked well, the garlic was good but the artichoke and scallion was lacking. Not much of either was on the naan and we couldn't really taste it. We then had Aloo Gobi, Saag paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Rogan Josh and Khasi ko Masu. The Aloo Gobi was decently cooked and done. The Saag Paneer had been too blended and all the texture had been blasted to smithereens. It was more like a veggie shake. The Chicken Tikka Masala was way too sweet (a trend we are seeing way too much in Indian food). The Lamb Rogan Josh was also way too sweet and takes away from what it should taste like. The one standout in the meat dishes was the Khasi ko Masu which had quite nice flavor without overwhelming sugar. The hunt continues for a good Indian restaurant.

Patty M.

Yelp
We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Turmeric House today, beginning with Mulligatawny Soup, then Lamb Saag, Chicken Tikka Masala and basmati rice, with a scrumptious garlic naan! The food was delicious, quantities were larger than we are used to and prices were reasonable. Everything tasted very fresh. The soup was not overly salted with nice earthy tones and served with lemon which brightened it perfectly. The saag was a nice blend of spinach and creamy herbs with large chunks of lamb. The tikka masala featured tender chunks of chicken with a sauce which tasted more tomato like than I am used to, but still delicious. We asked for the spice to be medium heat plus a little more, and it was perfect! We'll be back again soon! Thank you.

Yelp
We tried Turmeric House for the first time and it was great. A very nicely appointed, spacious restaurant minutes off Rte. 3 in Weymouth, Turmeric House provides excellent service and delicious food at fair prices. Immediately upon sitting, you are served a complimentary basket of fresh, crispy papadums with three distinctive and different condiments to eat with them. The menu is extensive and the the portions are generous. Our party of two started with the appetizer combination which could have easily fed four. It included pakora, chicken and several other item I did not know, but were delicious, all for 12.95. Our entrees were Chicken Tika Masala and Lamb Vindaloo, both excellent. The Tike came with plain naan and we also ordered garlic naan, both excellent. Very good beer and winelist with full bar for what ever you'd prefer. Professional, attentive service. Free parking. Highly recommended. We will be back!

Claudette N.

Yelp
Food was good. I'm not familiar with this food so one of our party ordered...choosing mild since a few of us were cautious. Lots of sauces on the meat. Some dishes were better than others. Service was excellent. Our water was kept full and servers were attentive. Ambiance was ok...nothing special. I would go again.

Yelp
Ordered from here via UberEats and the poor driver had to wait an additional 30 minutes at the restaurant for them to prepare the order. When the shrimp and chicken tikka malasas finally arrived, we were severely let down by the quality of the food. The curry was very watery/runny and the proteins were unseasoned and bland-tasting as the curry did not stick well. The garlic naan could've had more flavor and was too soft and chewy for my liking.
google avatar

Patrick G.

Yelp
When I visited Turmeric House I was the only in-person diner, though it was apparent that they have a thriving take-out business. As COVID restrictions continue to ease I suspect they'll attract larger and larger crowds. Their entrees are reasonably priced, albeit somewhat more expensive than the Indian fare you survived on in college. I would say their entree portions are a bit small, but their naan are enormous! Keep in mind that they don't have a specific lunch menu or a buffet--based on the price point, this place aspires to attract the more discerning diner with a mix of Nepalese specialities and North Indian classics. I would note that I received decent, but not attentive service, which I chalked up to a desire to limit contact. Based on other reviews I would keep an eye on whether the service level improves as requirements ease and people feel more comfortable dining out.

Emily H E.

Yelp
Wonderful place can't beat the food and service. I can't wait to go back. I loved the combo plate option. Good price and lots of food. Drinks are enjoyed as well,

Tuesday A.

Yelp
I Love their Chicken Korma it's my favorite I am very picky about what I eat and where I get it but their food is delicious and always fresh !
google avatar

Lisa Q.

Yelp
The food here is great. They have take-out and fine-in service. I really like eating at the restaurant because the way they prepare the food is really nice and they're super friendly. I recommend the tofu matar and samosas.
google avatar

Lauren P.

Yelp
Wozah! This place is delicious, I love korma and it is really hard to find places that make it authentically with cashews, but the Turmeric House has the most authentic cashew korma I have tasted in the south shore area this far and is setting the standard for korma. My partner gets the chicken tiki Marsala and it looks spicy but he loves it and it smell and taste amazing as well. I have ordered on DoorDash and I've eaten at the restaurant in person and this place is very consistent and delicious. Big fan will be back!

David R.

Yelp
This is a fantastic Indian restaurant. Their combination plate provides a wide variety of Indian food and is very reasonably priced.

Yelp
SUPERB RESTAURANT!! Beyond pleased with this wonderful restaurant. Had dinner tonight and the presentation and food was way beyond expectations. Had the veggie app plate, coconut tomato soup, nutty coconut Nan bread and two entrees. They serve a free app of bread and three sauces which were delish!!!! Place is immaculate, food fresh and flavorful. This is truly a DON'T MISS restaurant. Our restaurants need your support and this is one place we want to remain opened especially through the pandemic. They do take-out but the waitstaff and owner delight in making you more than comfortable and so welcome. Absolutely love this place. Five stars. Please support this place to make sure it never goes away!!! Love it.

Yelp
This review is a bit late but better late than never! I went to the turmeric house about a month ago after purchasing a Groupon. I love Indian food so I was excited to try a new place and I can wholeheartedly say they did not disappoint. We ordered the appetizer platter that has meat and it was amazing! We couldn't decide which part of it we liked most- every single item was delicious. We also ordered the tikka masala, korma, and naan. Once again both were delicious and served with plenty of rice. The staff were friendly and attentive the entire time, place was clean and open, and they took measures to socially distance tables and wear masks. If you're in the area and craving great Indian food I would highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Christine K.

Yelp
I had an amazing dinner here tonight. The staff was so nice and practiced good distancing and wore masks. I was going to get takeout but then decided to eat in the dining room. I had never been here before, but I will definitely be back.

Cliff N.

Yelp
Genuinely the best Indian/Nepalese food ever had. Staff and owner are stellar. Very nice atmosphere.
google avatar

Amanda L.

Yelp
My whole family joined me for brunch here and everyone was delighted with everything. We had shrimp curry, samosas, pakoras, tandoori chicken, coconut chutney, biryanis, amazing naan, delicious soup and salad. Everything was so flavorful and just the right spice level. Service was excellent. We look forward to returning.

Harvey A.

Yelp
Best Indian Food with had in South Shore. You must try this restaurant with awsome food and great ambiance! The service was outstanding too!

Hirav R.

Yelp
Awesome service and staff. Very friendly environment and nice seating arrangement. Their food is really tasty.(not spicy). Coming to this place since few years and never had any disappointment with the food or the service

Alexandra M.

Yelp
Ordered take out. Butter chicken was excellent. Malai chicken was over cooked and grainy in texture. Portions were EXTREMELY small. I can't justify the price for the amount of food we received. We ordered two entrees, one side dish, two containers of rice, and naan and portions were not enough to feed two people. The picture below is what came for a $20 entree.

M. S.

Yelp
Turmeric House exceeded expectations! Our pick-up order stayed hot, and the garlic naan and chicken tikka masala mild were perfect. Highly recommend for delicious Indian cuisine. If you love Momo n Curry in Somerville, MA, you'll definitely enjoy Turmeric House!
google avatar

Joie T.

Yelp
A fair 3.5 rating. The garlic naan was softer and more fluffy than what I was used to (needed more garlic). Chicken tikka masala had good flavor...I would suggest ordering this. The chicken korma had too many cashews and raisins. The chicken was also tough and dry. Overall, I'd stick with Punjab Cafe.
google avatar

Karen H.

Yelp
Outstanding is not enough praise for this place! We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter chicken - the sauce was so rich and poured it over the rice. So tasty! You have to try the Garlic Naan and Vegetable Samosa (marinated potatoes & onion inside a crisp pastry). Wow wow...
google avatar

Tiff F.

Yelp
Yesssssss!! Order everything. There is nothing at this restaurant that has ever disappointed me. Best Indian/ Napalese in and around Boston that I've tried hands down!!
google avatar

Bethany L.

Yelp
From the spinach cheese naan which is by far the best naan I've ever had. To the chicken biryani, paneer masala, veggie samosas and the tandoori chicken. I love this place. Food is always hot and fresh. Never over or undercooked. Perfect !
google avatar

Kim D.

Yelp
Delicious Indian cuisine. Tandoori chicken yum! Closing mid day is strange, otherwise highly recommend.
google avatar

Frank N.

Yelp
I'm a Vegan, and Turmeric House had many enticing options. The staff were friendly and informative. The food was DELICIOUS - looked and tasted great. I would highly recommend Turmeric for anyone who wants great Indian food, priced fairly.
google avatar

Captain B.

Yelp
This used to be a good restaurant. The buffet is gone. Prices have been increased and there are no lunch specials. Food quality has gone down over the last year. Waiters seem miserable at times and all too often the restaurant is empty. We will not be going back unless they come up with some lunch specials as dinner prices are too expensive for a quick lunch.
