What a fantastic experience in NOLA. It’s worth the drive to get some authentic Indian flavours. Ask for the full spice, the heat can’t be beat. We had a lovely experience with a great host. The portions were good and there’s plenty of seating, including high chairs.

This was my first time having Indian food. I told the waiter to surprise me. Genuinely the nicest staff. It’s very clean and quiet and you can tell it’s very family like. The food was platted absolutely beautifully. 10/10 recommend and will definitely be coming back.

It was a lovely experience eating here!!! The north Indian taste was authentic and I loved it so much! Vijay served us great food and with great happiness! The experience was truly like eating food in India itself! Loved the "dal Makhni"! It was my favorite food!!!

I went during lunch with a coworker. We both ordered the chicken biryani with garlic naan. The portion sizes are huge. The food was average in my opinion. The service was amazing; the staff is very attentive. They even threw in a complimentary dessert.

Love! Love! LOVE! After a horrid visit to the City Museum, this was heaven-sent! The smells are wonderful. The prices are lower than expected. The waiters were very quick and eager to help with our selections. The flavors are superb. The music not too loud, just enough to set the mood. I will be back!!

We ordered their Butter Chicken, Lamb Saag, Paneer Tikka Masala, Garlic Naan, Paneer Naan, Mango Lassi & Gulab Jamun. Everything turned out great, thank you! Customer service is always excellent here as well thank you 🙏

The food was really good, we enjoyed it, the Nan was soft, we took mango lassie which was bit too sweet. The curry was good. Overall 9/10

Our dinner was an absolute dream from start to finish. The ambience was awesome. The staff were equally fantastic; attentive, genuinely friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu without being intrusive. As for the food quality, it was nothing short of spectacular. Every dish was a masterpiece of flavor, beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. An awesome experience all around—we couldn't have asked for more.

Such a cute little orange place off of the Westbank Expressway! We went for dinner on a Friday and walked right in. First Impressions: It smelled so good and felt so inviting when we walked in! Our waiter was so kind and made sure that we liked our food. He even brought us a dessert at the end of our meal, which was super cool! We ordered the cheese dosa, lamb chettinad, and garlic naan. It was a good amount of food, and I had leftovers. It was a fantastic dining experience! Please go check them out!

I have been brining people here since it opened, so I'm not sure why I haven't typed a review. When we walk in, it is always "Welcome home" with a smile or "How is----". I absolutely adore the servers that we've had over the years. Everyone is downright awesome. To start, we usually get a Samosa. Nice flaky outside with a warm spicy filling. I usually get the matar paneer and hubby loves the paneer tikka masala. Both dishes have the perfect taste. The mater paneer had peas with a delicious creamy, spicy sauce. The paneer tikka masala is a delicious creamy tomato sauce that has the right amount of heat. The garlic naan is FABULOUS! Perfect for getting the last of the sauce from your plate. My little one loves the mango lassi. The place is a little darker with murals on the walls. The four stars is because I'm not a fan of the buffet. They have some of the best foods, and for some reason, the buffet doesn't always showcase this. Basically, in my household, Tumeric is always the answer.

I visited here for the first time on yesterday evening. There was no wait for seating. There were some parking spots on site. The staff were friendly. The owner was very kind. We stayed a while and no one made us feel rushed to finish up. I ordered the shrimp saag which came with plain white rice. I ordered plain naan bread. I was mistakenly brought garlic naan bread. The waiter offered to take it back, but I decided to keep it. I also ordered rasmalai for dessert. The food was very tasty. I would definitely return to try some other dishes.

The food is great, but this place is not allergy friendly. Don't come here if you have allergies because there is a lot of cross contamination. I have nut allergies and typically won't get a severe reaction with cross contamination but there is clearly a lot of it here. I know ordering from a place that serves cashews is a risk- but if there are dishes that are nut free I assume they will actually be nut free.

How spectacular dinner was tonight. Restaurant had many Indian families with their children enjoying dinner together. Very nice dinner tonight! I had the tasty salmon and garlic shrimp. The French 75 was the best! Bombay gin of course.

I was a tad bit skeptical when I pulled up to this place but the reviews were good so I went with it and I'm glad I did. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and garlic nann to go. It was about $25 bucks or so. The food was hot and fresh and the taste was spectacular. The outside of this place could definitely use some sprucing up but the inside was cute and clean, nothing fancy more of a homey feel. Service was also decent. They greeted me as soon as I walked in.

These guys have worked at other Indian restaurants in town. Food is more authentic, service is fast, and staff are friendly. Have tried most of their vegetarian dishes and would recommend. The rice quantity is a bit on the low side, but order a bread ;-) The place looks like an old oriental place and that is fine by me as long as the food is great! Ambiance can use some updating, and if they stick around that might happen too.

I recently moved to Louisiana and was skeptical about finding good Indian cuisine. To my surprise, Turmeric Indian Cuisine was a delight. The Chicken Curry with white rice and Naan was delicious. The spice level was medium, and the prices were reasonable. They have plenty of seating and a well-stocked bar. Friendly Service. I highly recommend trying it out! Total, including a bottle of Sprite, was $25.11

Staff was welcoming and amazing! The ambiance puts you in a homey setting and the food was on point! I started with the samosas and garlic shrimp. Entree was the Goan Curry Shrimp, which was also very delicious! Would definitely come back here!! I don't know how this place isn't more crowded.

Good Indian food in New Orleans. Quiet and cozy ambience, away from the crowds which was refreshing after a long day of sightseeing. The service was quick and efficient. We ordered a mix of South Indian and North Indian dishes and both were delicious, which is rare. The owner offered complimentary dessert as well. Definitely stop here, if Indian food is your beat!

Great food. This is very close to the downtown. Just 12 mins drive and more than worth it. We were really impressed with the quality of the food and the overall ambience. If you are in New Orleans and thinking of Indian food then don't miss this restaurant. We ordered rasam.soup, dal and matar paneer with some whole wheat Naan. Everything tasted great.

This is our local "go to" Indian restaurant because the food is so very good. I will also say that the service has gotten better since the last time we were there. We started with the Samosa Chaat which is chaat made with samosa, chickpeas, curry, chutneys and spices. It was very tasty. We also ordered the garlic shrimp appetizer which we order every time. The shrimp were a little small, but the flavor was fantastic. We split an entree of the chicken tika masala. It was so delicious and just the right amount for both of us. We ordered a side of the garlic naan and it was perfect. We definitely recommend this restaurant and can not wait to go back.

The Food was spectacular . Got a recommendation for what to order from our waiter, and it did not disappoint. The cauliflower appetizer was delicious. We couldn't get enough of the sauce . On top of that, the service was excellent, and the server walked us through the menu . Will definitely be coming back! The Corn Chaat and the Lasuni Gobi alone made the meal fantastic !

Dropped in for lunch because I have a small addiction to chicken Manchow soup, which thankfully was dated by the time I left. I also ordered Chicken Hariyali, which was also quite yummy, but I think should be called Hulk Nuggies for obvious reasons...and cannot be for even more obvious issues. Anyway, everything was good, service was super attentive and I very much intend to make another visit in the near future.

I believe this place is under new ownership and it's officially ruined for me I placed a large order and nothing had flavor the biryani was old probably from two days ago every thing went in the garbage. Nothing tasted fresh. The new owners don't know what they are doing I will never order from here again.

Ordered delivery for dinner and I am extremely impressed. I ordered the veggie samosa, garlic naan, and baingan bharta. Everything was so well seasoned and flavorful. I don't eat Indian food often at all, but now that I've found Turmeric, that will definitely change. The garlic naan was a little burnt, but it still tasted delicious. I dipped both the naan and samosa in the baingan bharta.

I would really like to give this restaurant 5 stars, because the food tastes so good, but for the 2nd time now when I placed a pickup order that had a lamb dish the meat in the order was almost 2/3rd's fat. I never have this problem when I dine it. I kind of feel like rather than throwing it out, they just stick it in take away orders as I never have this problem when dining in at the restaurant (I would turn the order away if they did this in person). I'll still order vegetarian to go, but probably not as often.

I was craving Indian food and this place did not disappoint! We ordered Butter Chicken, Chicken Paran, Okra, Garlic Naan, and Roti and it came with a side of Basmati Rice. We were stuffed at the end it was so good! Now Service, wow they were so kind to me and my family, they were attentive the entire time, brought us extra rice, a dessert sample, put our to go plate in a bag for us, I mean it was the cherry on top. The food was already amazing and to enjoy it with such kind service?! 10/10

I had a great experience here. I ordered Lasuni Gobi, Lamb Chettinaad & Paneer Naan. I'm not a connoisseur of Indian food but my Indian coworkers had told me this was the best place to get legit Indian food around here. Everything was delicious and the staff was super friendly. I highly recommend!

I never have high expectations of the westbank being that I live on the westbank. If you're in the mood to try some Indian cuisine I recommend this spot. It's not too fancy so attire doesn't can be casual. It's a plus I brought my mom here for Valentine's and they had valentines decor. Overall food was 5/5 everything was delicious. My mom is vegetarian so we ordered a bunch of vegetarian dishes. The amount of food for the price is very fair. My mom and I definitely have left overs for the next 2/3 days. Our server Stanley, was attentive, kindly asking to replace with clean plates, service was 5/5. Bathroom 4/5 clean, a little run down and one stall was other of order but otherwise clean. Would like an option to open with our foot on the bottom but otherwise the bathroom was clean.

Amazing food, service, ambiance, and enjoyed the leftovers too! My favorites were the Lasuni Gobi and Lamb Korma but also loved the Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Lollipops with a crunchy outside and sauce that's just a bit sweet to go with it. Definitely a good place for family dinners.

Hands down the best Indian food I've had around the New Orleans area. I've raved about it to everyone except Yelp! So here I am, giving y'all the most detailed summary of my experiences at this fine establishment... ''Twas my birthday, the first time I visited, and the service was impeccable. Though my boyfriend and I ordered our food for takeaway (because I had a graveyard bartending shift later that night), the service made us feel just as welcome as any in house guest. We ordered some drinks at the bar while waiting for our food, and the host asked us if we'd like to sit in their Lounge section. Of course we did!!! The lounge was super fun and kept us totally entertained with the Bollywood music videos till our food was ready. When we got home the food was still hot and delicious. The bright and beautiful colors could testify alone, for the flavor of each dish. And just like that, we were hooked! We came back again for Valentine's Day and the food was just as perfect. The restaurant also decorated for the occasion, with a lovely flower arrangement upon each table. My boyfriend and I enjoyed seeing all the other couples there, sharing a meal that was made with as much love as the day called for. We got the same thing both times because it was just too good to not crave again. For the appetizer we got Samosas (which was the only Indian food he had tried up until our first visit). He got the Chicken Tikka Masala and I got the Saag Paneer. We also ordered garlic naan to accompany our entrees. Everything was rich, perfectly spiced, and filling enough for some next day leftovers. We've gone there on another occasion and ordered the same dish again... don't knock us, when you got a good thing, why stop? As per usual, all of the staff was over-the-top amazing. I am dying to go back, and hopefully order something new, like the lamb vindaloo.... But even if I don't, I know I that I will still get the same amazing experience that we've gotten time after time. If you are in New Orleans and you want some seriously delicious Indian food, it is worth it!!!

Solid Indian food, nice atmosphere, great service. I'd definitely go back and try some other things on the menu when I'm in the area.

I have mulled this review over for days, asking myself if the food was as awesome as I remember and it is! I got the garlic naan which had the perfect combo of bread and oil and garlic. I ordered a Naan to go and it heated up perfectly over the next few days. I ate it with cheese at home and it was scrumptious. I also got the lamb korma and it was lovely. There was a wonderful gravy over the tenderest lamb and served on the naan it was perfection. They serve it with rice but that's not my thing. Anyway, this restaurant is worth the drive. And they have alcohol so it's a score all the way around.

I love the country chicken curry paired with the dal tadka. Everything I picked up was still warm when I arrived home. Garlic Naan is wonderful! Service is always first rate. They have a Sunday night buffet that I will check out. Support this business. It's worth a trip from anywhere.

This place is one of the best Indian restaurants in New Orleans. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who would like to try authentic Indian food. Great service and amazing food. We went to this place twice during our 3 day trip in New Orleans last weekend. Tried Lasuni Gobi, Chicken Lollipop, Dal Makhani, Paneer Tikka Masala, Chicken Curry and Dal Tadka. Everything was really good. My personal favorite was Dal Makhani and Chicken Curry. Also, garlic naan was perfect. Will definitely stop by during our next trip to New Orleans.

Dinner buffet on Sunday nights! I've been missing Indian buffet since the start of covid, and was surprised to see that Tumeric is offering it again on Sunday nights. Solid value, $20/adult. Plenty of vegetarian and meat options available, they refill the buffet very promptly when something is running low. The staff is very on top of it, they're quick to get you seated, check in with you often, and make sure you're taken care of.

Service was fantastic. Very friendly and quick. The food was delicious. I also liked the paintings on the walls, particularly the flags with the elephant. I will return when I'm in the area.

Wanted a little snack and this place came up on google. When I drove up, it was empty. I was somewhat confused since this is about the time where most people are off of work. The employees were not smiling or truly inviting. I picked up my order which was the garlic naan and the chicken lollipop and left. The place didn't even smell like traditional Indian cuisine that I have come to know from both America and other countries. Took maybe 7 minutes to get home and I was still trying to be excited to dig in. However, I am left disappointed and hungry. The naan was flavorless and dry. I warmed up some butter to pour over it and that didn't help. The naan that comes from the grocery store or brands like Stonefire are even better. The lollipop chicken... May not have been full chicken. They were so tiny and yet empty. It is odd. The little bit of meat like pieces that were on the bones were slimy and fatty. It was just weird. Strange texture and taste. Will not be back.

The naan was awesome!! I also enjoyed the corn chaat appetizer. My friends and I traded/shared our plates and it was too hard to pick which was best.

New Orleans is starved for Indian food, so I was fairly excited about this newcomer on the West Bank. It isn't that impressive of a building; they've decorated the dining area nicely enough but they have some cramped bathrooms. I arrived at lunch to find a buffet. It was a tad disappointing in size; only four vegetarian entrees (well, three and rice), with spinach dal, channa masala, and a mixed vegetable curry. The availability of some pretty delicious potato croquettes and salad enhanced the experience, as did some pretty fiery hot sauce. The dishes they had I liked, and I ate quite a lot of them. Someone did order off the menu, so you can do that even at lunch. I would sooner return for dinner and order something more interesting, but the amount of whole spices floating around in this cuisine, and the variety on their menu, suggest that they are as good as or better than anyone in New Orleans at making commonplace North Indian cuisine (at least, cuisine that is commonplace where I'm from). I'm cautiously a fan.

I ordered some food to go and it was so good that I ran to write this review! This was my first time trying their food and it was fantastic! I ordered the butter chicken with naan and mango lassi. The butter chicken was very tender, the naan was super flavorful, and the mano lassi was the best drink I've ever had in my life! The staff were also extremely nice. I will be telling everyone about my experience, and I look forward to dining in next time :)

This is still a really new place and they definitely have some kinks to work out with service and keeping the buffet stocked. It was taking upwards of 20 minutes for items that had run out on the buffet to get restocked so certainly that is an area for improvement. The service was also very inconsistent and it took quite a while to get a drink refill. The food was very well spiced and at a generally higher level of spice than the other area Indian food restaurants in the area. Overall I enjoyed the food but for the moment I would advise to order off of the menu if you are in any kind of hurry.

The place is right off the Westbank Express Way. The outside looks modest but inside it's so clean and the artwork is really nice. The staff is really friendly. Sorry foods here now .. I'm about to dig in.. salmon tiki Naan Mutter Paneer Basmati Rice Chai

So I tried Turmeric last year for lunch from the menu and the food was mediocre at best so never went back again until last Sunday night dinner buffet (5.30-9p). We tried everything from chicken soup (good) to chicken tikka masala (didn't taste anything like chicken tikka masala), curry chicken had a South Indian flavor to it, tandoori chicken was fresh and succulent, veggie pakoras were alright, nan were ok. I looked at the vegetarian options on the buffet and they didn't appeal to me so didn't bother. The buffet was $18 bucks each and on the check, the waiter charged $5 each for my 1 and 2-year-old. Seriously, and I did ask the waiter about it, who does that and his response dumbfounded me, "customers lie about the age of their babies so we charge $5 each for every child." Really? I'm pretty sure he's single and doesn't have the slightest idea how much it cost to raise a baby, let alone 2 babies In this day and age, probably as much as running this restaurant. Well, I wrote that down on the receipt and considered $10 their tip (I mean, $50 for buffet for 2 adults, hmm). I mean, this supposedly loyal waiter who couldn't even answer properly when asked, at what age the children eat free? So I hope the owner will take care of him because I surely didn't leave any tip. Mediocre food and bad customer service, I would advice everyone to skip this Indian restaurant and go to Mantra.

The Sunday buffet was excellent today. All items on the buffet menu were delicious and tasted as good as when you order Ala Carte, which is rarely the case in other restaurants. The place was packed but the staff was hopping and kept bringing fresh food out as soon as it was getting low. The ambiance was good and even though the place was packed it was not noisy. Best authentic Indian restaurant in town. Food is always good and service to match.

I'm pretty basic when it comes to Indian cuisine. For starters, I had my eyes and stomach set on the Veg-samosas and wings. The waiter however had other plans and pushed for the cauliflower and the chicken lollipops. We were trying a new place so what the hey, I threw my inhibitions out of the window and threw caution to the wind and went all in. I had no idea what to expect. But, when the waiter plops down two bright RED dishes you start to rethink your decisions and proceed with caution. The lollipops seemed less daunting between the two dishes... I went for those first. It happened to be the BEST bite of the night. It was flavorful and juicy. I felt like I was eating something straight out of a Dr. Seuss book. The outside had a reddish/pink tinge but the inside looked like chicken. Okay, onward to the cauliflower. As I am taking my first bite the cutest little old woman who happened to walk past our table tells me "The cauliflower is awesome!" & it was. Personally, I would never order this dish had it not been recommended but I'm glad I did it overall. If I could describe the flavor I would compare it to a Chinese sweet and sour dish with a slight hint of spice. The entrees. What can I say? I really wanted to like it but it wasn't for me. We ordered the chicken tikka masala and the tandoori mixed grill. The meats were dry as previously stated in other reviews and the flavors weren't what we were used to. I mean I've said it before and I'll say it again -I'm basic. Although, the flavors weren't what we're used to it doesn't mean it isn't for you. Would I come back? Absolutely. Would I order the same entrees? Probably not.

Such a pleasant experience! The service was top notch, the food was delicious and the experience was so authentic. This was the first time I've tried Indian food and I couldn't have chose a better spot to try it. The butter chicken was soo tender and good, the curry lamb was even better! I loved how personable the staff were. They ensured our glasses were filled and when our basmati rice was low they came with a new plate. COVID rules were enforced and I'll def be back!!

Nice people, good atmosphere, fun art inside. Definitely recommend the goat biriyani & Goan shrimp curry w/ garlic naan. If you want a spicy kick, definitely ask.
