"The second Turmeric Indian Cuisine location is now open in the Washington Corridor, where you can grab a quick lunch. The main appeal of this casual restaurant is the stacked menu, where you’ll find everything from a burger doused in butter chicken sauce to biryani filled with marinated lamb. I would say 2. This place is so new right now the restaurant sign was in Japanese . The customer service was average but they only had like 3 people working. I would think for a newly opened restaurant they would try harder on the service and promo side. Food was all right. It would appeal to the general non Indian public (which is probably why they have decent reviews) but being married to an Indian family and having gone to India I was disappointed. My Indian in laws were also disappointed. Panipuri sauce was not very flavorful and again no spice. Bombay sweets in hillcroft does it better. Curries were average. Also for the price it was the quantity was so little. They gave all of our food on disposable paper plates which I thought was not eco friendly when they could put it on real plates and wash. And again barely enough food very little rice and little naan. Also, when I asked if it could be spicier I received a strange look so that was confusing to me because spicy and indian/asian go together. Also the whole situation with garage parking is so confusing. But basically just park in the first floor and if you enter a code apparently you get free parking. We parked on the 2nd floor and the door was locked so we couldn’t get into elevator which was annoying but I later found out you need to pull handle down hard . This place may survive given the lack of Indian restaurants in heights but I won’t be back.

Immediately this place smells so good when you walk in. The food is absolutely great! We tried four dishes and liked every last one. Convenient parking in the parking garage right around the corner from the restaurant.

Turmeric has a nice classic flavor in a convenient setting. The staff was very helpful to help choose dishes based on my wants. I created my own bowl. The chicken tikka masala was creamy and aromatic with some nice chunks of white meat chicken. The Egg Pepper Fry was delicious and spicy. It also had a nice black pepper flavor too. It almost seems like egg fajitas! The Biryani rice and the Naan were the 2 lesser dished based on flavor and the dry Naan. Overall I say it’s pretty good and well worth a visit if you are looking for some Good Indian food at a reasonable price. Portion sizes were all good.

OMG! Hands down some of the best Indian food I’ve had yet! Everything was cooked to order and didn’t take long! Wasn’t crowded during lunch rush for a weekday. PLENTIFUL portions and this pic is what’s left after I ate! I ordered chicken tikka masala bowl with Jeer (cumin flavored) rice! Extremely flavorful spicy and savory (great for dry sinus congestion) and the vibe was chill and upbeat music playing. I’m definitely coming back! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! 2 hour parking validated!

Google
AMAZING INDIAN FOOD! This is one of those places which have the best tasting Indian food. Must visit restaurant in the Houston area if you want to try some great Indian food. Great atmosphere and service as well.

Google
Excellent place to eat. We loved the tikka kebab it was extremely delicious. First we ordered one and a Delhiwala Butter Masala and we ended adding another tikka kebab! Simply great both of them. The service and the mood is very good as well. We recommend you to try it!

Google
Really not sure how this place is so highly rated. We ordered the Tikka kabab, shrimp vindaloo, butter masala, and byriani, and 3 drinks. For $100. I realize that Indian food is usually expensive. But to charge $16 for a few pieces of chicken, dark, fatty meat at that, it's just ridiculous. It wasn't a plate, there was no rice with it. Everything was overly spicy, and I like spice, I eat everything with salsa or chilies. This was just overkill. I don't recommend it, and I would never go back. There are many other good Indian restaurants in this city that have better food. 0/10.

Google
Most friendliest and helpful staff. Was recommended the vindaloo plate. If you like spice and fresh food. This is the place to go. The front desk was so nice and patient with answering my questions regarding the menu.

Madi H.

Yelp
Great new spot! Chicken korma with the garlic naan is my go-to, the portion size is great! You will have to wait a little while for the food to come out but it is worth it and so fresh! Parking in the connected garage is also complimentary for restaurant guests.

Yelp
I have driven by this place multiple times and never knew they were so good! They are located below an apartment community. I tried the Dawali Butter Chicken and it comes with rice. The rice actually had a whole cinnamon stick in it. The rice was so flavorful!!! It seems like it was soaked in coconut milk instead of water. The butter chicken was not too spicy, it was very creamy and has packed with flavor. I ended up ordering a side of garlic naan bread and it was also tasty. The location is clean and the service was great. They have a takeout section where you can get utensils and also plates to go. They provide 2 hours of free parking validation. I will definitely come here again!! I highly recommend this place. The food was so good, I forgot to take a pic!!

Yelp
In the mood for Indian eats, YELP brought me here. We decided on takeout and ordered the following items: Butter Masala w/ Shrimp (7/10) Garlic Saag w/ Paneer (9/10) Cocktail Samosas (9/10) Chicken Biryani (9/10) Garlic Naan (7/10) Mango Lassi (10/10) Originally, we wanted lamb for the butter masala but they called us after we put in our order to inform they were sold out. So we switched to shrimp on it. The masala has a tomatoey flavor but lacks the heavy spices that I was expecting; it still is tasty and I would order it again but with another protein. The naan had some garlic flavor but was a bit cold after unwrapping it; probably need to heat it up next time. The rest of the dishes were pretty solid with the somosas and biryani being our favorites. The saag w/ paneer was tasty and thick. The rice that comes with the curries have spices and herbs mixed in which add to the flavor. Finally, the mango lassi is a delightful beverage/dessert. My girlfriend loved it to the last drop. I'm glad there's another indian option in the area that is perfect for take-out. We look forward to trying other items such as the korma and (hopefully) lamb curries.

Brandon D.

Yelp
Food is definitely good, especially for what you expect. It's an order-counter restaurant, so my expectations for service weren't high yet still not met. First order they left out 2 items. Second order was complete. Both orders took 30 min longer than the recommended pick up time. Both times there were several other people siting around at foodless tables waiting for their carry-out order & both times more tables occupied by people waiting for carry-out than dining in. If you order ahead and check your order, should be a good experience. No reason to dine in. Also - right next to the heights tracks which are often occupied by a parked train, so need to know a back-up route with a tunnel.

Shelby L.

Yelp
I am SO incredibly happy to have good Indian food in the area! Everything was really delicious. We got chicken 65, korma chicken, butter chicken, saag paneer, and garlic naan. It was all pretty bomb, but the korma and saag were true standouts. I can't not mention how tasty the chicken 65 also was, and while I personally prefer a little fluffier naan, it was deliciously garlicky. I was initially put off because they quoted 15-20 minutes for to go and then it took 55 minutes, but the food was absolutely stellar. I'll be giving them a lot of my money.

Michelle W.

Yelp
I've had better! The curries didn't have a lot of depth to me. It needed more love. The portion sizes are so small in comparison to the price.

Van N.

Yelp
This is strictly for their food and take out. Samosa: good, I've had better but will order again Paneer tikka masala: the paneer was soft and tender. Theres thick onion pieces packed with flavors Rice ( included): not your plain rice, its spiced and delicious Peshawari naan: mildly sweet and went perfect with the curry. I'm pleasantly surprised. The bar was not very high tbh for casual indian food. But it definitely changed my mind. We finished all of the food and I will definitely be back.

Moses C.

Yelp
This place never disappoints. This is the spot that every time you eat here your like we gotta come back food is cooked fresh while you wait and is very delicious. Got my fix can't wait to come back . If I could give more stars I would !!

Susan K.

Yelp
We had an order to go and it was so delayed. The taste was pretty mediocre and some stuff was very spicy

Maria E.

Yelp
Pretty good option for Indian in the area. My favorite dish was the Chicken Lollipops. Ample and juicy chicken, with delicious spices. The Tikka Masala (lamb) was tasty as well (although it was a bit too spicy for me -- I wish they toned it down a bit or let you choose the level). I also really enjoyed the Hakka Noodles (an Indo-Chinese dish) with paneer. The biggest let down was probably the garlic naan. It barely tasted like garlic. I did appreciate that they had multiple naan flavors to choose from (including a sweet one).

Turner W.

Yelp
The Chettinadu Pepper Masala was awesome!! Served piping hot, spicy, and delicious. The jeera rice was also delicious. I recommend ordering a Masala Chai. It is Indian spiced milk tea, also served piping hot, and it's one of the best chai I have had in Houston. Service and portions were excellent, too. One of the few places in Houston with a nice, clean restroom that also smells good!!

John R.

Yelp
We were greeted by Loitha and she was wonderful. She helped with suggestions and was spot on. We tried different dishes and all were really good. The parking is good once you have experienced it and you learn how to get the code ETC. We have no doubt that we will return.

Zina B.

Yelp
I was excited to see this new restaurant in our area. We did take-out and ordered online, which was super easy. When I went to pick up our order, they told me they were out of all the naan. Bummer, but the staff was really nice about it and gave me a mango lassi instead. We got the samosas, paneer tikka masala, hakka noodles, and manchurian. Everything was super flavorful and packed with spices. The samosas were crispy and the chutneys were freshly made. The paneer tikka masala had the perfect amount of heat and the hakka noodles were a hit with my kids. The manchurian was supposed to be just veggies, but they added paneer too. Not what I expected, but it turned out to be a nice surprise and tasted great. Even though they were out of all the naan, the food quality and the friendly service made up for it, especially for a place that just opened. Looking forward to going back!

Advait S.

Yelp
This place might just be my new Indian takeout spot. Been here twice and both times the curries have been excellent. Got the Kadai and Garlic Saag and both were fantastic. Pickup experience and service at the counter has been great both times as well. My minor gripes are: 1. No built in spice level selection when ordering online. You have to add it in the comment section. Not a big deal but would be nice. 2. Naan is mediocre. I'm excited to try the other dishes. Other folks I went with had good things to say about the Chicken Tikka Burger and kebabs but I haven't tried them myself.

Josh H.

Yelp
This commercial spot has had quite a few different restaurants, and this one has been the best by far. We have ordered take out from here on more than one occasion. This is a solid spot for Indian food, which this general area has been lacking in this area of Houston. We will continue eating from here for the days we crave quick Indian food.

Laura C.

Yelp
Fast, casual Turmeric hits the spot when you're looking for flavor, convenience and quality. Garlic naan is crispy and chewy and pairs with any of the dishes. Butter chicken will always be a go to order for me.

Rene R.

Yelp
The food is Tasty, personnel is attentive, and place is clean However I won't be back, because of the parking, I was told it was 2 hrs. Free and days later I get a collection bill of $ 85.00 form the parking garage servicing this restaurant, Restaurant needs to get his act together with the parking otherwise will lose many customers. Its unfortunate I always pay my parking or Valet if needed -don't mind to spend 5-10 dollars but because a Wrong information given by the restaurant My meal will cost an extra 85 sorry but not returning. Rene

Atul P.

Yelp
The ambience is decent and good isn't bad. However the service is very slow and more like not caring about the customer

Amanda T.

Yelp
Food wasn't good and how do you scorch rice??? I've had better frozen Indian meals to be honest. The chicken was very dry and the sauce was lumpy and just had a one dimensional spicy taste and no other flavors. The butter naan tasted like it was three days old. I would not come back here; please do not waste your money.

Dave V.

Yelp
The food is authentic, the right levels of spices, served hot, and just plain good tasting. We've visited twice in 2 weeks. The mango drink is perfect; thick, cold, and sweet. You have to wait a bit for food preparation but the taste makes you forget about that. Do go and try them...you will be glad you did.

Supriya S.

Yelp
The food was good for the most part, except for the Lamb Biryani that had mostly fat and gristle and no meat. Also would not recommend the attitude of the girl who takes the orders. She has a bad attitude. Not open to questions or feedback. She talked back to me as if I don't understand Desi food and terminology.

Jason S.

Yelp
I went with my daughter and granddaughter for the first time. The food was very delicious. We got chicken vindaloo(spicy), chicken tikka masala, somosa saag and garlic naan. Definitely going to try it out again. Service was great, they were very attentive.

Steve B.

Yelp
Shrimp Vindaloo was awesome the basmati rice served with very aromatic. We had a samosa chat as a starter just perfect. Chicken in biriyani was fatty with grisel would not order again the rice was good so woukd suggest the vegetable version. We will be back!

Deepika G.

Yelp
Great food and friendly staff. I had the chicken biryani and my friend has the tikka masala bowl.

Ramesh B.

Yelp
Delicious food and service. Always would recommend Very fast service. No more hassle or any complications

Heather S.

Yelp
Wow!! Ordered takeout from here and it was fantastic. Had the korma and butter chicken and was not disappointed! Ingredients are high quality and the flavors were balanced perfectly. This will now be our go-to place. Great addition to the area!

Sheila Y.

Yelp
Everything was finger licking, delicious! The service was outstanding. I'm definitely coming back.

Matthew J.

Yelp
Great food. Everything had a great flavor, definitely be back/order again soon. The vindaloo and garlic saag were great

Robyn T.

Yelp
Chicken tikka masala was delicious with just the right about of spice and kick to it. The garlic naan was crispy and perfect! The order of naan comes with 2 pieces.

Desiree G.

Yelp
Wow!! Definitely going to be my go to Indian cuisine spot! They were helpful with the menu and provided great recommendations. Prices were as expected for the heights area. I got the afghani curry and my fiancé got the delhiwala! So good!

Lilian E.

Yelp
The person in the front was great and patient with any questions we had, we ordered a creamy afghani and a turmeric bowl which where great along with a mango lassi, a little thick for my taste but would order again. Loved the atmosphere and the food doesn't take too long!

Kristina S.

Yelp
I was in the area and famished and decided to swing by this new Indian restaurant off Shepard. I ordered lamb vindaloo and it did not disappoint. The lamb was so tender and the vindaloo was like a delicious curry stew. It was delicious. The staff were incredibly gracious. They are still new to the area, so i'll be back to support them.

Emily B.

Yelp
Super fresh and flavorful. Had the garlic saag with paneer- all super fresh and tasty! Chicken kabobs and mango lassi also high quality ingredients and delicious !! Give it a try for sure

Meaghan C.

Yelp
Excellent food, service, and location! Will definitely be back. Very authentic, generous portion sizes.

Paula E.

Yelp
Quick. Delicious! We had the Saag and garlic naan. Superb! One dish was enough to feed two of us. Best to get it to go parking is weird. We will be back for sure.

Dana H.

Yelp
Wow I think I found an Indian place that beat Aga's in terms of taste of food! We ordered the butter chicken, chicken tikka, and garlic naan and were mind blown. The food was so creamy and delicious, definitely authentic. Only area of improvement would be service and time waiting for food. I think we waited around 45 minutes for the food to come out and the restaurant was fairly empty. But once we ate, it was worth it!

Gage E.

Yelp
Love the food! Great tikka masala, great service & great atmosphere! I'll definitely be returning!

Leena M.

Yelp
Great new Indian addition to the heights food scene! Mix of tradition Indian flavors with a western twist. The butter chicken burger, tikka masala and garlic naan were delicious! I'd skip on the chef 65 appetizer. Will be back to try more!

Ravi V.

Yelp
Went to Turmeric today and i liked the food, i have tried Shrimp 65, Butter Chicken loaded Fries, Chicken Pepper Fry, Mushroom Pepper Fry, Chicken Chetinad and Chicken Biryani, all of them tasted good. Would surely go and try other things as well.
