We had heard wonderful things about Turner farm, but we weren’t adequately prepared for how absolutely amazing it was. I am not a fan of vegetables and the vegetables were delicious. The roasted cauliflower and the chili cucumber salad were out of this world! The use of scapes with potatoes was ingenious! The swordfish was cooked to perfection and the carmelized leeks were nex level. If any area could have used a little more important.. it was dessert- profiteroles with fruit.. usually dessert is what I want first, but the meal was so spectacular I almost didn’t notice the dessert was somewhat lacking!

4 of us purchased tickets to the farm dinner that included a private boat ( Lobster Boat) ride to and from the island for dinner. Instructions state to be at the pier at 3:30pm for a 4pm departure for a 50 minute boat ride. We departed at 4pm however the boat ride in perfect seas and weather was actually more than 1.5 hours each way. It states on their website 'We suggest arrival between 5 and 5:30 to enjoy cocktails and the view, we sit for dinner promptly at 6pm." We arrived at the island pier at 5:40, took the 10 minute walk to the barn and only had 10 minutes to relax before we had to sit for dinner. The dinner was satisfying at it's best. Portion control was tight and if you were the last to get the dish or bowl with a little food left you were out of luck because there were extremely hesitant to bring anything that was not already out. The one time I did ask for some vegetables because the bowl was empty by the time I received it, their attitude was clear that this would be a one time only exception. This was very different than any other farm dinner that we attended, it was eat and please leave. I tried to thank the head chef on the way out and he would barely speak to me. We headed back to the pier for the 1:40 open air boat ride at 8pm at night back to Camden and was highly disjointed with the complete misinformation regarding timing, the rush to eat, portions, and overall cafeteria atmosphere. Will not go again, much too expensive for what we received. Save your money and try a reputable farm dinner on the mainland.

Thank you Benjamin and all the amazing staff at Turner Farm the dinner tonight was perfect in every detail. We all appreciate your efforts to make the evening extra special. We are also enjoying the variety of farm stand offerings this year! The produce, meats and baked goods are delicious!

If you find yourself on the beautiful island of North Haven, Maine, then you must visit this gorgeous farm on a hill overlooking the deep blue waters of Penobscot Bay. Everything on this farm is a delight for the eyes, from the meticulously kept greenhouses to the rows of vegetables and flowers, the white cows dotting the meadows, and the brown pigs hidden deeply in the woods. Turner Farm has a smorgasbord of offerings, such as their farm stand, open usually in the mornings durning the week, take-out dinners, farm produce share programs, dinner nights in the barn, walks on the expansive grounds, wedding parties, accommodations in the guest house, and so much more. Visit their website for detailed information. Turner Farm is by far my most beloved farm to visit, and the crew is a delight to talk to and count as your friends.

Being invited to work as an artist on North Haven Island, already feels like an unreal moment to start with. We have been to the island several times for wedding and a couple of them have opted to have their weddings at the Turner Farm Property. Pinch us next time ok?

While cruising Maine aboard our sailboat, we stumbled upon the farm and dinner online. We try to visit farmers markets in every town we visit. At first we were hesitant reading some older reviews and the costs, but after going to the farm stand to get some freshies and talk with the staff, and smelling the food cooking, we decided to do it. It was a lil pricey, but a great dinning experience! During appetizers and cocktails, we even saw Ben go out to the gardens to pick some more fresh produce needed for meal preparation. I only gave 4 stars vs 5 because the menu said local beers, and there was no beer, and I am not a wine person. They did have a gin cocktail. Had I known this, I may have no opted for the alcohol part of the dinner. My other half said the wines were very good. If you love to post your food on FaceBook and Insta, this place has a great setting and even more beautiful than you'd believe. It was like eating on the set of Yellowstone, but without the violence and nudity. I do look forward to coming here again next time we are on the island!

First time. Experience was fun, nice setting in the barn and island, overall beautiful place and great staff. Negative: Food however was not up to the hype. Serving portion seemed limited or stingy. Qualify of food was pretty plain and nothing special about it. Not sure it's worth the expensive cost, so likely won't be doing this again.

Wonderful evening at Turner Farms Barn Supper. Beautiful farm, lovely people and delicious food. We were greeted with a cocktail and wine for cocktail hour to stroll the property. Artisanal cheeses, pickled veg, delightful crackers and toasts were presented in-front of a backdrop of farm fresh flowers. The dinner bell was rung and we make our way to our seats where a salad of mixed green and homemade shallot vinaigrette and fresh baled herbed focaccia were waiting for us. This was followed by heirloom tomatoes wish an avocado cream. Next up was roasted squashes and poblano, smashed herb butter potatoes and your choice of tenderloin or baked stuffed tomato. The entire meal served family style so we were able to try everything and we were not disappointed. The evening was sealed with a lovely butternut cheese cake topped with fresh cream and husk cherry jam. If you are on the fence like we were about attending this barn supper because of reviews don’t be. This was a delightful experience with delectable farm to table food. Worth the effort to get to the farm for sure.

Yelp
Fresh grown vegetables, meat, and dairy products on the island! Whoo hoo! Not exactly "cheap" (tho nothing really is when you live on an island). Everything here is top notch organic. Much of what is grown, raised, and farmed is used at Nebo Lodge in the village (same owners). The farm stand is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and at the farmers market in the village on Saturday mornings. During the peak summer months (July and August) you'd be smart to show up early. The lines can be long, however service is at a friendly pace. Everyone is smiling and having fun. This is as much a social affair as it is a buying excursion. You're not in a hurry, you're on vacation. There isn't always a large quantity of specific items available, and it's on a whatever-is-available and first come, first serve basis. If you can't find something in the freezer or on the tables, just ask - I've had the help there scramble around the farm and actually find extra items that had been stashed away. My one, and only, complaint is that the house-made sausage is not fatty enough and thus tends to lacks flavor. More fat please! I want my sausage yummy, not dry like sawdust! :) The sausage recipes could be tweaked a bit. There's no reason this shouldn't be great. Bring the kids and wander around the farm. Visiting and wandering is encouraged. Go find the goats and pigs... Enjoy the awesome views of Goose Rocks Lighthouse and eastern Pen Bay.

Yelp
It's a farm. There's a lot of people and machines that work there. They have cheese, usually chèvre, mixed with herbs. It's good. They have a freezer that they keep the bodies in. The bodies of pigs and chickens. Sometimes just the pork chops. Often the whole chicken. It is a beautiful spot. Sometimes they do these things called barn dinners. I haven't been to one. However the chef is very good; the barn of the farm is transformed into a dining room for the evening. The vegetables are very fresh, too. They're only available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-1. Often times there is a line to buy beets and other leafy greens.
