There is metered street parking and commercial garages available within a reasonable walking distance from this park. There is not much to this park outside of an amphitheater and a lot of green space. That makes it primary and main use being special events. It is also popular among dog walkers though. The grounds have lights, so it is not limited to daytime events.
The park is well maintained and spans seven and a half acres. It is touted as "Omaha's home for outdoor events". It is nestled in the Midtown Crossing neighborhood and is rumored to be popular among its residents.
The park hosts a bunch of events. Some of its signature events include Jazz on the Green, Turner Park Night Market, Yoga in the Park, Bocce Ball Leagues, Wednesday Workouts, the Season of Lights and Playing with Fire. It averages about 150 events each year.
I visited thpark when there was no event going on, but it did not stop me from seeing the great potential that the park has in hosting events. The space is priemium and perfect for events. The grounds are well maintained. The only thing that I did not see was a restroom facility. I guess events planners have to bring in port-a-pottys for their events.
