"Turul Project is a Hungarian restaurant and wine bar that offers classy dishes, quality produce, and importantly, an excellent selection of Hungarian wines. Although their back dining room is all about that fine dining food aesthetic (read as: small portion tweezer food complete with relatively hefty price tags and edible soil) the front deli area screams casual glass of wine on a Thursday night. Amidst the jars of artisan honey and fresh truffles in the deli, you’ll find a simple rustic wooden bar where you can perch on a stool and make it your personal mission to steadily make your way through glasses of crisp Somlo whites and fruity reds from Szekzárd. They also have a few tables out front but seeing as it overlooks a junction in Turnpike Lane, we’d say you’re better off sitting at the bar with some confit duck croquettes and all those lovely wines for company." - Heidi Lauth Beasley

My first time at this restaurant but definitely not the last, and this place is well worth the travel for if you are not local to the area. Very easy to find, right next to Turnpike Lane tube station. Inviting from the outside and homely on the inside. The decor is very nice and stylish, and with the unobtrusive background music one feels quite relaxed in no time. Booking went smoothly. Table service was speedy and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. They must have an excellent chef as the food was absolutely delicious, somewhat unusual but a well-balanced combination of flavours from Hungary. I especially loved the Monkfish Paprikas and the Walnut Dumpling. Overall, a very impressive experience.

When this place opened we went to check out the bar menu and wine, really interesting meat selection and Hungarian wines that the staff were keen to recommend. We’ve since been to check out their a la carte menu and it is fantastic—small number of menu options but each one unique and well thought out. The staff were as ever brilliant, and on hand to recommend wine pairings. Love the vibe, the food—such a great addition to the area!

Holy moly! What amazing flavours, ingredients and experience. Feel very lucky to have such a great restaurant like this in the area. Real top quality stuff. Can't wait to come back and taste more of the extensive Hungarian wine menu, and the a la carte menu.

Loved this place - cool little deli / cafe / restaurant / wine bar right next to Turnpike Lane tube station. Fantastic service, really interesting and delicious menu and a great wine list which the staff are really knowledgeable about and will talk you through. Fantastic atmosphere and dog friendly! We will be back!

So happy this place now serves food! Absolutely delicious sharing plates (‘bar snacks’), and wonderful wine. Really high quality - if they start serving a larger menu at some point it will undoubtedly be incredible. Will be back as often as we can!

Every bit as good as the other reviewers have said. Cut deli at the front, good stock of hard-to-find products (charcuterie, hazelnut flour, walnut flour) and strong selection of Hungarian wines. A la carte restaurant at the back has a small but perfectly formed menu, quality ingredients Hungarian flavours executed in a sophisticated modern style. Great presentation but the substance is flawless as well. Welcome addition to the area if you are local and worth a visit if you're coming from further afield.

Great new addiction to the area. I have bought some wine, palinka and other products and they were all great. I have visited a couple of day before when they finally started serving snacks: both wine and whitebait paprika tempura with saffron aioli and roasted lemon were amazing. Service is great and attentive. I look forward to the full restaurant experience

Mind bending Hungarian fine dining by Turnpike Lane tube. Delicious and looked amazing, would have taken more photos but forgot due to it being too good. A bottle of wine isn't cheap but is very good and Hungarian- worth the spend. Highly recommend.
