Yelp
Lovely, downtown Northville location. Easy to walk to, and has a great place to eat out front. Top notch, really.
But lets talk about the fact there's no pricing anywhere in the place. The menu, neatly scrawled on a blackboard, contains no prices (and is near impossible to see because spotlights shine so brightly you can't really see the board until you're right up to the counter). When you order, you just kind of hope it's not going to cost an arm and a leg, I guess. Or you're already supposed to know.
Second, the place was so loud, we couldn't hear them when we ordered. It was nice to see the receipt immediately to finally get a price, and also see they got our orders correct.
However... I ordered a strawberry basil lemonade (which was actually the best part of my visit. It was fabulous!) Yet, I never saw it until later.
25 minutes later, my sandwich was delivered... incorrectly made. Alas. It was a breakfast BLT. I asked for it without mayo, it was delivered liberally slathered with mayo. Which I suppose is fine for some folks, but not what I ordered (or was on my receipt). So I returned it. When it was corrected, the new sandwich was brought to me, placed on the table, then the waitress ran back and I had to flag down someone/ANYONE on the staff to tell me where my lemonade was. I guess they just left it at the front counter... which I suppose was where they "always" do that, but... could have said something before then, maybe?
That was an excellent strawberry lemonade. I'd come back JUST for that, really.
My friend has the Brown Eye Betty, which he said was great. We both enjoyed the food, and the ambiance too.
In the end, it just felt... very chaotic, and I kind of felt like I was in that Seinfeld episode with the Soup Nazi. Not the rudeness, but the expectation that you know ALL the inside tricks on how this fancy, lovely looking building and restaurant work... but they don't bother to tell you.
