Review for Tuscany il Ristorante – Westlake Village
I had never been to Tuscany il Ristorante before, but my date has been coming here for years and told me how incredible it was. From the moment we walked in, I could see why.
Immediately upon entering, we were warmly greeted by the bar staff—handshakes, hugs, smiles, the whole Italian hospitality experience. Tommaso, the owner, was there, and I received the most amazing hug. He knows my date very well, and you could just feel the deep-rooted connections this place has with its patrons.
What really stood out was the personal attention to detail. When we walked in, Tommaso made sure to take my handbag and hang it up, helped me with my coat, and pulled out my chair so I could sit at the bar. It was just amazing—kind of like being a guest in someone’s home. That’s exactly how I felt.
We only sat at the bar that night since we already had dinner plans elsewhere, but we knew we’d be back the next evening for a full meal with friends.
When we returned for our reservation, it was even more magical. There were six of us, and once again, we were greeted like family. Tommaso and the entire staff exuded warmth, charm, and a genuine love for what they do. The camaraderie between the employees was evident, and it’s clear that Tommaso treats his team with the same respect and kindness he extends to his guests.
One of the highlights of the evening was Tommaso’s tableside pasta demonstration—a simple yet exquisite dish made without milk or butter, just pasta, pasta water, cheese, and expertise. The result? Absolute perfection.
For my entrée, I had the Chilean miso chili sea bass, and it was outstanding—sweet, flaky, and bursting with flavor. It was the kind of dish that makes you forget what anyone else at the table ordered because you’re so enamored with every bite. There was warm, fresh bread with butter, a beautiful salad, and an incredible selection of wines that only elevated the experience.
To top it all off, we ended with a strawberry crème brûlée, which was rich, creamy, and the perfect sweet finale to an unforgettable evening.
I left feeling completely blessed—not just by the food, but by the atmosphere, the company, and the heart and soul that Tommaso puts into his restaurant. Tuscany il Ristorante isn’t just a place to eat—it’s an experience, a family, a tradition. I absolutely cannot wait to go back.
