"Tuskie’s, as it’s affectionately referred to by locals, hosts customers in a restored mill from 1899. A popular spot with numerous awards, the restaurant showcases high-end New American fare along with a large selection of Virginia wines. The menu is comprehensive, but customer favorites are the large and sumptuous crab cakes, creamy corn chowder, and the hickory glazed duck breast. Order curbside pickup here." - Aparna Krishnamoorthy

We were looking for a nice restaurant to have a Friday lunch that offered a variety of foods, nice atmosphere, and a good wine selection. We ended up at Tuscarora Mills. I started lunch with a chilled cantaloupe soup with fresh blueberries and a strawberry balsamic glaze. It was delicious! Our waiter Ryan was fabulous and when asked between the fish tacos and the seafood salad, he said the seafood salad was outstanding. It did not disappoint. It had a lovely seared tuna, fresh crab, and grilled shrimp & avocado with a lemon thyme vinaigrette, it was amazing! The kind of taste that you crave and want to keep going back for! My beautiful mother-in-law enjoyed the special burger of the day a Lamb burger with a delightful aïoli and a nice salad. I had a glass of the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, and it was An excellent compliment to my seafood salad. The bread service was also delicious of variety of Fresh bread slices. This restaurant was a gem of a find! Highly recommended!

we’ve been to Tuskie’s several time and the food is always really good. they’re always busy, especially on wknds, but staff handle it well. the bread pudding is hands down one of the best we’ve ever had, so we def recommend trying it. there used to be a massive wheel in the middle, but they seemed to have removed it on this visit, which was disappointing, bar that, the decor is really nice. we had shrimp and grits, flank steak, kids grilled cheese and Chesapeake eggs which were all really good. there’s lots of free parking for all the restaurants in the strip as well as a parking garage across the street.

Food is always phenomenal!!! Every time we go. If you’re lucky enough to get Dre as your server you will enjoy every moment of your experience! He is beyond amazing and Tuskies is lucky to have someone that builds such great relationships with their customers. 10/10!

I sat at the bar and was immediately impressed with the service here. Both bartenders were very friendly, Peter and Joe. Peter was extremely knowledgeable. They are building an extensive bourbon collection here. I enjoyed a pour of Bookers Little Book Chapter 2. Impressive! A bottle now sells for $700. I had Chapters 3 & 4 outside of Atlanta a few years ago at a place called Sprig in Decatur. Peter did not steer me wrong with recommending the scallop appetizer and then Shrimp and Grits. Amazing flavors and satisfying. For dessert I ordered a chocolate martini and enjoyed it with good company. I ended up walking back to my hotel in the light of a full moon that night. It wasn’t very far and I needed the exercise. Leesburg can be a fun time and this restaurant was a great ending to a nice day.

Google
THIS PLACE IS RACIST AS YOU CAN SEE THEY HAVE THE WHITES IN THE NICE DINING ROOM AND THE NICE SUN ROOM. THEY PUT THE others in this hole in the wall between DINNING AREAS both like we can only look but can't participate. It's soooo demming. I brought my little one and they cried like we were being punished. With being in a room with mold, old furniture and not outside with the "other peoples" in the nicest room. I guess I have to teach my little one about disrespect and segregation early... NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Had a nice brunch at Tuscarora Mill. They had the buffet available but we chose to go with à la carte, although the buffet looked delicious. The food and the environment were spectacular but the service was a little bit lacking. I can't fault them completely however because it was very busy.

First time and not my last. The servers are very experienced and knowledgeable on everything in the menu. Food tastes great, presentation with high standards.

Working with Tuskies was an amazing experience, they are the best in the business. Neal was such a pleasure to work with, from planning to execution everything was flawless. The food was delicious and people could not stop complimenting the entrees and the appetizers. The food was the pinnacle of elegance, absolutely delicious. The staff was somehow even better?? They honestly provided top-tier 5 star service, our family and guests loved them. They were so attentive, kind, personable and anticipated every guest's needs.

Yelp
Met a friend for brunch - yes, I highly recommend having a reservation. We both opted for the buffet and I enjoyed it so much I only took a photo of my first plate. Everything was delicious and they were constantly replenishing dishes at the buffet. I'm not a huge fan of shrimp and grits, but loved these. Our waiter was so thoughtful - The sun was shining on our table and melting the ice in our beverages so he brought us cups of ice! The space is packed with tables making it a little bit difficult to maneuver to/from the buffet, but otherwise a great option for Sunday brunch!

Yelp
Graduated from LCHS, moved away for college, and moved back and worked here in the early nineties when I was in my twenties. Hadn't been back since. I was in Herndon at a work HQ meeting, which is weird when I live 2400 miles away, and I had to visit my old stomping grounds. Needless to say, Leesburg is all grown up! Tripled in population and I can't find anything except the McDonald's and the old Pizza Hut building. I was so sorry to hear about the passing of the owner. I remember him interviewing me back then, and he was kind, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable. Anyway... dinner. Place looks the same. Still an old mill turned restaurant. The same griffons on the light fixtures, and a dark atmosphere unless you're in the garden room area. Seated promptly- we had reservations. Server Maria----smart, friendly, liked my story, checked in frequently. Started with a glass of their Super Tuscan, spouse had an old fashioned. Salad special of mixed greens, tomato, walnuts, burrata cheese-- we split. App --Pork belly tacos were a little sweet for me but that didn't keep us from finishing them LOL. Entrees were pork tenderloin - I wanted the onions cooked more and the pork belly less smokey, but the tenderness of the pork gives it an 8 out of 10. Spouse's scallops and beef tenderloins he called a 9 out of 10. (Just wish it hadn't been called Surf and Turf on the check... sounded like a cheap steakhouse). Dessert was bread pudding -- fantastic. And a bourbon pecan pie I found too chocolatey and bourbon-y to my liking. But we did box it up to try again later. Service 10:10. Food 9:10. No photos!

Yelp
A Gem in Old Leesburg: Virginia, Tuscarora Mill Restaurant Review Venturing out once more into the heart of historic Leesburg, Virginia, we stumbled upon a culinary gem - the Tuscarora Mill Restaurant. Nestled in the charming ambiance of old Leesburg, our experience at this quaint eatery was nothing short of delightful. Opting for a seat at the cozy bar, we were greeted warmly by Shawn, the bartender, who set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. Our evening began with their house special Manhattans, impeccably crafted and bursting with flavor, setting the stage for what was to come. As avid enthusiasts of culinary exploration, we dived into the menu, eager to sample the restaurant's signature dishes. The bacon-wrapped shrimp, a tantalizing blend of flavors and expertly presented, left us yearning for more. Accompanied by a bowl of hearty corn chowder and freshly baked house bread, each bite was a testament to the kitchen's skill and attention to detail. For our main course, we opted to share the blackened fish tacos, a decision we did not regret. The fish, cooked to perfection, was nestled in warm tortillas and complemented by vibrant, fresh ingredients. Paired with a second round of Manhattans, our meal culminated in pure satisfaction. The Tuscarora Mill Restaurant proved to be a delightful discovery, promising a return visit for a romantic dinner in the near future. As we savored our meal, we couldn't help but notice the impeccable presentation and freshness of the dishes being served around us, a testament to the restaurant's commitment to excellence. In our quest to explore the culinary treasures of small-town America, the Tuscarora Mill Restaurant stands out as a shining example of quality, flavor, and hospitality. We eagerly anticipate our next visit, eager to indulge in the culinary delights that await.

Yelp
We visited Tuscarora Mills for Father's Day Brunch. The brunch was delicious with lots of great options, including custom omelets, shrimp and grits, a variety of salads, shrimp and cocktail sauce, smoked salmon, bagels, mussels, fruit, French toast, prime rib, ham, deviled eggs, sausage and peppers, cheese and prosciutto, desserts, etc. The bloody Mary was also good. The issue came down to what we knew about the price. When we booked the reservation, I looked at the website and the brunch was advertised at $35 for adults and $19.99 for kids. When we got there, we discussed with our waitress that our youngest was 4 and she said she will eat free and our older daughter will be half-priced. When we received the bill, we were charged $70 per person and our older daughter's meal also cost $70!! She is 9 years old and had half an omelet, a piece of bacon, some fruit and a couple of cookies for $70!! We enjoyed it, but not so much the sticker shock. I was disappointed in the false advertisement.

Yelp
Amazing meal. From start to finish. Our sever Danielle was equally impressive. STARTERS - we had the Crispy Curry Oysters and Beef Fondue. WOW. 2 of the best Apps we've ever had. A hint of curry and sweetness that complimented the oysters and the Beef was incredibly tender with outstanding Blue cheese fondue MAIN - the Pork Ribeye was absolutely delicious !!! So tender and cooked perfectly. It didn't need the sauce but that was really good as well. The Fennel & Apples with bits of smoked pork belly topped off the dish. I'd go out of my way for this. My wife ordered the Salmon and that was incredible as well. Thank you Tuskies for making our Celebratory meal absolutely awesome. Can't wait to come back for any meal !!!

Yelp
What a great place. We are in town visiting and glad we chose this spot! It's in the 2nd floor of an old mill. Very cool vibe where you see the open ceiling and equipment from the mill. They have done a great job of retaining that. With white tablecloths, it's quite the contrast. There were 4 of us and every meal was great. We had wild boar, organic chicken, grilled beef tips and scallops, and grilled duck breast. All were tender and juicy and the sides were perfectly paired. We shared bread pudding and peanut butter chocolate torte for dessert. Also awesome! Definitely give this place a try when you are looking for a nice meal.

Yelp
This place is amazing for brunch! I had never been here prior to the random brunch my girlfriend and I stopped in for. Wow was I missing out on a great place. The food was pretty much all amazing. It was buffet style and there were plenty of options. They had an omelette station where they make it on order for you with whatever ingredients you want. The steak station next to that was also great. The buffet had fried chicken, vegetables, pasta salad, French toast, bacon, sausage gravy, and more! Definitely had something for everyone. The dessert station was also very good. The bread pudding was the best! I don't eat a lot of bread pudding and even I wanted to go back for more. The service was good. We didn't see our waiter much but we did the buffet so it made sense. The staff were very helpful and friendly in telling us about the buffet and how to get seated. The ambiance is a little bit older and divey. It definitely feels like a neighborhood restaurant and not a chain restaurant. It had lots of decorations and felt like an old mill so it was nice that they kept the aesthetic. Overall would recommend this place. There's a parking lot nearby and a parking garage across the street. Give it a try if you haven't.

Trendy D.

Yelp
I came here for a late brunch and boyyy I didn't know they had such a DELICIOUS Bottomless Brunch!!!!! It was $36 per person, but so worth it. My favorites: The entire fresh omelet station was a big winner! The shrimp and Grits The steak was freshly cut and yummy The French toast was mmmmm The Bread puddling and Strawberry Short Cakes were mouth watering deserts!!! Overall, I can't wait to come back. The thought of the items above make me want to come back again next week for their brunch. I didn't make a reservation so we sat towards the front of the restaurant. They had us pick any open seat. I will say it does get busy, cause there weren't tons of seats available. We probably got lucky cause we came around 1:30 ish.

Lauren H.

Yelp
My family and I were in town and they were able to accommodate our group of 14 with little notice (we called ahead by 10 min when we found a location to eat). The room we were in was beautiful and the food was pretty good. I really liked the rice balls! The Reuben id say was a 6/10. The overall interior of this restaurant is too cute!

Mary T.

Yelp
Walking into Tuscarora Mill (aka Tuskies) sort of feels like you are stepping into the past - the interior is very historic and keeps the aesthetics of a mill. It's a beautiful space. Service was excellent and super friendly! I appreciated the portion sizes - they were reasonable and not too large. The apps were delicious. We started off with the bbq bacon wrapped shrimp and Maine lobster and were licking the plate as the cream and polenta were so delicious. It was hard to decide on a main course because all looked amazing, but I got the Creole trout. The portion size wasn't too large which I appreciated, and I enjoyed it but my only criticism is it could have been more seasoned - I felt it was a little lacking in that iconic Creole flavor. For dessert we had a classic apple crisp cobbler.

Lisa D.

Yelp
I have eaten here several times and they're usually pretty solid, but tonight was very disappointing. I ordered the seafood brodetto. The salmon was horribly overcooked, but worse, one of the mussels was served unopened. I brought the unopened mussel to the waiter's attention and he said "I don't know what to do." No offer to return it to the kitchen or compensate us in any way. The meal was unimpressive and service very sub par.

Yelp
I've been going to Tuskies for years and I'm finally getting around to a review. Classic upscale casual American restaurant with a rustic decor inside an old sawmill. There are 2 dining rooms, a cafe and a more formal room. Usually I'm in the cafe but today my wife & I took my parents for lunch so we made reservations for the dining room. Service here is very good! In the cafe room sometimes it's a bit slower but I don't mind that since I like to take my time when I go out to eat. Servers are attentive, but not overbearing. The menu changes, seasonally, which is nice. Fresh locally, sourced ingredients. In the café, they occasionally have tasting menus, usually of wild game, like elk and boar, paired with wine, or occasionally whiskey. Today we got the hot crab dip as an appetizer. Hot, creamy, and filled with crab! Usually I would start with a salad, but dad loves crab. For entrées, my wife got the halibut special with lobster ravioli and lobster brown butter, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Mom got the smoked chicken rigatoni. Dad got the blackened fish tacos which he utterly destroyed! Since I am never full of crab, I got the crabcakes. Tons of lump meat, very little filler! They were delicious. We also decided to get dessert, which I almost never do, but it was very good. I got the Keylime and raspberry cake, dad got mango, sorbet, and mom got the brownie sundae. My wife got the dolce de Leche martini because " she doesn't like dessert" LOL! Tuskies has always been a good fallback restaurant for me, never disappoints. I would recommend reservations, especially on the weekend as they do get incredibly busy.

Yelp
My wife and I have dined at Tuscarora Mill several times over the past few years. We've never been disappointed. The food is prepared to order with perfection and the offerings include a wide variety of dishes and, when available, specialties such as bison or elk. We appreciate the excellent service, and quiet and elegant atmosphere.

Jeff H.

Yelp
My wife, myself and our friend went for dinner on 8/13/2023. We started with bacon wrapped shrimp and fried green tomatoes. The shrimp was slightly overcooked but very tasty. The sauce was very tasty. The fried green tomatoes were nice and crispy, tender in the middle. My wife had shrimp and grits. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and nicely seasoned. Grits were very tasty. Our friend had the grilled flank steak with whipped potatoes and green beans. Flank steak was cooked perfectly, whipped potatoes were very tasty. Green beans perfectly cooked. I had the grilled duck breast, wild mushroom risotto. The duck breast was perfectly cooked. The sauce was delicious. My wife had the creme brulee , absolutely delicious. Our friend had the beignets, very tasty. I had the peanut butter chocolate mousse. It was absolutely delicious. Our server was awesome. A fantastic meal, a little pricey but well worth it.

Alison M.

Yelp
I was impressed with this spot for dinner. Our waiter was a bit off, seemed like he was especially defensive and even if we asked him for anything, like more drinks or black napkins or salt and pepper (bc there weren't any shakers on the table) he would get upset and explain to us what he had to do to make that happen. Weird. I don't care... I was just asking for salt and pepper and more drink bc I'm thirsty? In any event - the food was out quickly and it was delicious and the ambiance is wonderful so all was OK overall. We chose to go with a wedge salad and it was very good. Nice ratio of all the ingredients you love with a delicious dressing and plenty of tomato and some crispy onion straws. Very good. I chose the shrimp and grits for my entree and devoured it. The shrimp were large and delicious and the cheesy grits were wonderful. It was topped with some tomato, chopped bacon and spinach as well that added to the texture and flavor of the dish. Dessert looked wonderful but we had already gotten some pie nearby to go so we didn't get any but they had some wonderful options with a small $5 dessert of the day, ice cream and gelato flavors of the day in addition to several other mainstay items. The inside is in an old mill, as the name suggests, and it's beautiful inside and well decorated. Staff were friendly and welcomed and said goodbye as we departed. Overall, a win and I'd happily come back for dinner.

Ben Y.

Yelp
Absolutely an outstanding dining experience. The menu selection was phenomenal. It was difficult to make a choice and I was not disappointed on selecting the trout. The bar drinks were generous. Cannot wait to get back to Virginia to eat at this establishment again.

Angela M.

Yelp
Just happened to stumble across this place. My friend said that we've been here before for a party, but I don't remember. The food was delicious. First time in a while where everything that I ordered was scrumptious. Will definitely come back soon.

Catherine M.

Yelp
A Leesburg institution, Tuscarora Mill has unfortunately fallen into the classic trap of a "Luxury" meal for a luxury price. We came here a few days after Christmas and were surprised to see it so busy at 2:30 on a week day. We got sat fast but that's where the waiting game occurred- we ended up waiting 10 minutes to get noticed, 5 more minutes for water, then another 5 minutes to even speak to the waitress. She explained they were slammed and it would take a bit so I appreciate her honesty but service was slow in the kitchen/at the bar. My issue isn't with it being busy or slow necessarily but rather the food for the prices. Look I am aware of inflation and how everyones getting hit hard but some of the stuff here is so overpriced for what it is. We started with the lobster and sweet polenta app. For $19 you get two lobster claws worth of meat- the meat was the size of both of my thumbs. The polenta and suace were great but if you were splitting this app with more than another person, you would be getting maybe half a bite of lobster at most. I would skip this for the price point. Bread and cocktails were the shinning star for sure- we loved the Gin Sing and the jalapeno cilantro margarita. For our mains we got the flank steak salad and the shrimp and grits. The salad was a 5 star but pass on the shrimp and grits. $20 for 5 shrimp and 1/2 a cup of grits. Usually places will load up on the grits because grits are the inexpensive part of this dish- not Tuscarora. When the dish came out I honestly thought they forgot to include the grits, it appeared like a shrimp soup. I would pass on that- not worth the price at all.

Yelp
Came in on a Friday night and the whole dinner felt like a rush job. Food was not very good. Crab cakes were fried with very little crab in it. Do not recommend the friend green tomatoes either. Only good thing I had was the bread.

M. V.

Yelp
Disappointed in the service and overall quality of the cuisine. Not what I had expected at all. Mediocre.

Rick S.

Yelp
Food was great service was better than excellent! We had a late lunch in the bar area. The service was perfect he knew just how to give us enough time alone and when it was time to see what else we needed. The chowder was great, salad perfect and the bread pudding with ice cream was amazing!

Rasha B.

Yelp
I can't say enough about the chicken. It was full of flavor and the dressing was unique and yummy! Huge portions! Recommend sharing multiple dishes so you can try everything! Service was friendly and quick. Ryan seemed to know everyone and we felt like regulars.

Allen F.

Yelp
We went for our first time last night and our friends were right! This is the best place to dine in Leesburg. We moved here at the end of the year and have tried many places that are good but not fantastic. Our newly found friends recommended the conche and Tuscarora Mill. So we a pre and post Valentine's Day for both. Happy to know both exceeded our expectations. But tuskys (as the locals call it) had my wife say to me, this is our special spot from now on I look forward to the next birthday or anniversary to come back again. It is a little more on the expensive side but it's worth it. The atmosphere, food, and service combined seemed like a deal. I had fried green tomatoes and the shrimp and grits and my wife had the lobster appetizer and duck. See you soon tuskys

James S.

Yelp
Excellent food in a restored historic mill; moderately expensive. I've lived in Loudoun County for several decades. Tuskie's is the crown jewel of restaurants in the county. The kitchen is top notch and service is usually very good. There's an adjoining bar and cafe that's also very nice.

Sarah H.

Yelp
Had a decent dinner here but was not overly blown away. The good news is that Tuscarora Mill is located in a central plaza attached to several other local shops so we were able to explore more of downtown Leesburg after dinner! The service was friendly and the interior decor is beautiful, but we didn't love being seated in the back corner at the tiniest table for two. The menu is extensive, albeit a little pricey, and we were not blown away by either of the entrees we ordered (the mushroom ravioli was pretty flavorless--would not recommend. The chicken rigatoni was better, but not amazing.) We decided to splurge for dessert since we were on vacation and got their special sticky toffee bread pudding--it was good, but once again not amazing. Overall, the food is decent, atmosphere is nice, service decent as well so I would come back to try it again before making my final judgement.

Phuong O.

Yelp
Came here for Sunday brunch and thought it was decent, I love the decor, however they need to look up once in a while and vacuum the dust balls that are dangling in the ceiling where they are serving food at the buffet line. The food was not a big wow factor for me, it's items that you can simply make at home, maybe I need to come back and order from their menu instead. Omelet station and steak was probably my favorite out of all the items they were serving.

Rodney W.

Yelp
Food and atmosphere are amazing! The staff and service were so fun and attentive, the made our Anniversary Nite special.

Brian J.

Yelp
Really really good. We both got specials (Bison burger and Halibut over risotto) both were excellent.

Keoki S.

Yelp
Always love coming here with friends and family fora nice meal or drinks. Service is always outstanding and friendly. One of a few places I've been where they truly will go out of there way to ensure you enjoy your time with them. Make sure that you always hear what the specials. We love getting the fried zucchini, you need to ask for it as it's not on the menu. If it's a weekend call ahead and make a reservation or you may not get a seat. Weekdays I've never had trouble getting a seat for me and my plus one.

Judy N.

Yelp
I have heard nothing but great things about this place in Leesburg. They share the same owners as South Street Under, where we love for sandwiches and bread. So we decided to make early Mother's Day reservations here. The building is older but this is Leesburg. The interior is a lot more spacious than it looks on the outside. Service was good. It was crowded that day so there was a long wait between the appetizer and main course. The presentation of the food was very pretty. Our party ordered a variety of appetizers and main courses and desserts so I was able to try many dishes. My favorite appetizer was definitely the crispy oysters. They were cooked well, lightly crispy, and the cream sauce was so good. I had the seafood salad as my appetizer and it came with well seasoned albacore tuna, perfectly cooked shrimp and crabmeat, and fresh greens and fruits. The fried green tomatoes and beef fondue were also very good. I ordered the shrimp & grits for my main course and the shrimp was also cooked and seasoned perfectly. Sadly, some of the grits were undercooked and it was hard to chew. My father in law's burger and fries were cold so that was a little disappointing. My mother in law liked her trout. And my husband's French dip was very good. That sandwich had all kinds of flavors going on. And the seedy bread was fantastic. That sandwich was probably my favorite main course. It was packed that day so that probably explains the long wait between courses and the undercooked grits and cold burger. I'm not sure if they are just normally packed every weekend. But I can now see how they are known for offering great American food with creative spins.

C K.

Yelp
A large group of high school classmates enjoyed an evening in the private "log cabin" at Tuscie's. It was quite a distance for most of us, but it was worth the drive! The menu was varied and interesting. The service (especially lovely Dre!) was attentive without hovering too much. The setting was private and allowed us to catch up. I definitely recommend the chocolate/peanut butter pie, but my friend's apple pie dessert was also delicious. You'll want to check out this place!

Jasmine D.

Yelp
This place is so adorable and cozy! There were people in there dressed up, and some in flannels and jeans, so dress code is not enforced. We had a reservation so we were able to get seated right away. Our server was nice, but not very personable. The service was pretty slow, as well, and my drink was never refilled the entire time i was there. I was thirsty, but in hindsight i was going on a hike after, so it was probably better to not drink so much. The pork belly tacos are to die for! The kimchi slaw and sweet chili sauce were a perfect addition to the pork belly. There were four tacos total and i ate them all! For my entree i went with the blt&e sandwich and fries... the sando had guacamole on it, which is great, i love guac! It's served in an everything but the bagel seasoned ciabatta bun with blackened chicken. One thing i didn't love was that when our food was being delivered, the food runners were not conscious of where their fingers were and they were absolutely touching the food when they set it down. I was quite hungry so i just ate it and didn't think about it. All in all the food is amazing and the ambiance is perfect for any occasion! The prices were fair and normal looking to be. If it weren't an hour and a half away from my house, i might be a regular!

Shanna M.

Yelp
The Barnyard sandwich is amazing and I love the caramel mixed onions on it. My husband had the filet, and while pricey he said it was very good.

Dan J.

Yelp
We went for their special Sunday brunch and enjoyed the splurge. Tuskie's has an absolutely decadent, huge spread replete with everything from the best bread pudding I've ever had to delicious fried chicken to a plethora of cold salads, expected brunch foods, and many other desserts. Go enjoy.

Roberto B.

Yelp
The lamb burger was delicious, with a surprise! Excellent service by Ryan. The ambiance is pleasant, with a decor that aligns with the old mill.

Hoya L.

Yelp
Came here for the first time on a Friday night for a baby shower. We reserved part of the lower level dining area, and it was almost completely empty, but the waitstaff took forever to bring drinks and bread. There were two servers for a party of 15, but somehow they weren't very attentive--for example, they didn't come around to refill our water for most of the dinner, so I had to get up and get the carafes from the nearby bar counter myself. The food was good but overpriced for what you get (other reviews below describe it well). Also agree with other reviews on the setting. It's a weird building and they kept locking the downstairs exit so we had to go outside through the service entrance. Not sure that I'll be back.

Bill S.

Yelp
We reserved a table for 14 people on Wednesday, 27 June 2023. After driving around for 10 minutes looking for a parking space, I ended up 4 blocks away at the Leesburg parking garage. The front part of the restaurant was very busy, and since our table was more significant, and directed to the downstairs area. Within a half hour, even downstairs became booked. While the service and the food were excellent, I was disappointed with some items. I won't give 5 stars but would say 4.5 stars on food. The service was excellent and deserving of five stars. After we ordered all ordered, I was thrilled with our waiter, he worked and served us in a very professional and friendly manner .... While most of us were very happy with their selection of food and drinks, I had ordered as a first course, the STEAMED MAINE MUSSELS, and wanted to center on a smaller second course. They were delicious. My wife loved the Green Tomatoes. However, I was somewhat disappointed in my choice of THE BARN YARD "AU JUS" ~ Smoked Beef Brisket. On the first bite, I got a mouthfull of grissel or fat. I peeled the bunn apart only to see a quality of meat I did not want to consume. The waiter was indeed kind enough to allow me to order another sandwich, which I ordered the HOUSE MADE PASTRAMI REUBEN. Very tasty. The only thing I noticed were the fries, most establishments to include Tuscarora Mill, doesn't check the color or quality, of cooked french fries; brown soggy fries are a direct result of dirty or over used cooking oil. Because my fries were soggy and brown, proof of older cooking oil leaving the heavy taste in your mouth. A chrispy fries, is tast and not soggy to the taste. The SMOKED CHICKEN RIGATONI ~that my wife ordered we ended up taking home half as it was so filling, most of it after becoming a cheese noodle dish afterwards. All in all, after we paid, $$$, we were happy. The only thing I can say is that parking is very limited. Get there early to consider the area even on a Wednesday eveny was overly crowded. All in all, I give Tuscarora Mill, 4 1/2 stars.

Yelp
This was on my list for a while. Went there to celebrate sisters birthday.Got outdoor seating (the white tents :) ).. the host was great, patiently walked us through the menu and teh specials. We had few cocktails. Good amount of alcohol in the drinks. Ordered Scallops - 4/5 Overall a good experience.

Yelp
A colleague referred me to this restaurant. We didn't have a reservation so we had to sit on the other side of the restaurant where the bar was. No biggie. The table we chose wasn't the best idea considering it's directly next to where ppl line up to checkin with the hostess. Ok, we order our drinks and apps. I ordered a martini which was delightful and as the waitress is pouring it in front of me a fly comes out of the canister as well. I'm like nope - never mind. She gets another one made and she's back pouring that one and my colleague points out there's lipstick on the rim of my glass. So now I'm thinking I'm the problem lol. Third time was the charm - no fly, no lipstick just a clean glass. I ordered the spinach and bacon dip - deliciousness! She orders the beef and cheese - wasn't bad but not for me. My entree was salmon with mash potatoes and broccoli I believe. Nothing out of this world, and I thought the salmon was very bland. No seasoning whatsoever. The desert was the cheesecake beignets and they were absolutely amazing. I took two stars off for the fly, dirty glass and the bland salmon. Big no-no's for me. Other than that it was cool.

Yelp
I was seated today and after waiting 14 minutes with no service or acknowledgment that I was there, I decided to leave. This was my first visit and likely my last. I also was the only African American inside and there were plenty of empty tables. Thanks for ruining my Saturday.

Yelp
It was hard for me to come up with stars rating for Tuscarora. The food was excellent. Service was definitely above average. BUT the ambience was just weird. Food, wine list, service and prices would scream fine dining, but ambience felt more like a diner. Super loud atmosphere, most customers dressed in jeans, decor and everything else just felt below casual. It's not a place for a romantic and quiet dinner. I will come back with no expectation on ambience, but strictly for the food.

Yelp
Great American food in Leesburg! The restaurant has a very cozy, rustic feel and the bar seems very popular. We ordered a wedge salad, shrimp and grits, and the seafood salad. Everything was good, but def wasn't wow. If you're already in the area, it's a great option, but probably not worth driving from DC or Baltimore for.

Yelp
So it would be wise to make a reservation before showing up. We were extremely lucky and snagged a table son the corner just for two. Let me start off by saying that the gentleman who helped us was AWESOME!!! I hate that I don't remember his name...he gave us stellar service. He had a welcoming demeanor, made suggestions, and basically made our first dining experience a memorable one. Our food was not prepared to his liking so he came out with soup to hold us over until fresh plates were made. We started off with shrimp and chicken spring rolls, I had the grilled flank steak with bourbon sauce...this plate of food was divine and I literally cleaned the plate. My husband had a special halibut or salmon...I was so preoccupied with my meal I did not remember what he had...lol...At the end of our meal he apologized again for the long wait and gave us the most delicious cannoli cake. This place has been added to our fabulous dining out rotation. I can't wait to try the next delicious plate off the menu.

Yelp
Tuskies is great for an old(ish) school white tablecloth meal or a cocktail at the bar. I will admit, the past few times I've been there - one lunch, one dinner - there's been something a bit off. 10 years ago, this was the pinnacle of fine dining in Loco, save Clyde's, and really had no competition. Now that there is, it's a much different experience. Any duck dish on the menu will be fantastic, and always go for the wild game.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped by on Wednesday afternoon for a late lunch. Reservations are recommended, so we booked a 2:00 table about noon through Open Table and had no problem. We shared a bowl of delicious corn chowder. For the main, I ordered the King salmon with a saffron pea risotto and asparagus. The salmon was delicious, cooked perfectly, but the risotto was really more of a rice dish with lots of butter and it was bit too salty. My husband ordered the trout, also cooked perfectly, with great mashed potatoes and asparagus. We are looking forward to our next visit - perhaps a leisurely dinner next time!

Yelp
My husband and I go here at least once a year (it's an hour drive away) and it's always great. The waitstaff are always friendly, knowledgeable and fast. Atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing meal - not too loud not and not too quiet either. Recently went and had the ribeye special - it was honestly the best ribeye I've ever had. Seriously, if someone had tried to take it away I may have had to get forky on them. It was THAT good. The hubby got the wild boar and it was great too. It was a 9.5 to my ribeyes 10. If you've never been and get the chance - do it. You won't be sorry. But do try to make your reservation for an earlier time, say 6pm, as it get busy around 6:30 and there is always a line after that.

Yelp
This is one of our local favorites and we have been going here regularly for over 6 years. They responded to COVID well and I'm glad they kept the outdoor seating. However, it appears the no longer have the online takeout ordering and I think that's a miss. Reservations are recommended if you are going on the weekend and especially for brunch. They use Open Table. Check out the corn chowder with bacon and potato hay. Creamy, super flavorful and a nice texture contrast with the crispy fried potato. For mains the grilled pork ribeye and the Creekstone filet are both amazing cuts of meat perfectly seasoned and paired with excellent sides like sweet potato with fennel and apples and bacon braised brussel sprouts. If dessert is your thing, Tuskies has several classic options like the apple crisp cobbler and the vanilla creme brulee that you will want to try. Beer and wine list is not large, but has enough options to satisfy most people. Wines from California, France, Chile, Italy, and Spain. They also have some local VA favorites like Stone Tower and Walsh Family. I highly recommend the Sunday brunch. I'm not normally a buffet guy, but they get it done right. We've always had good service. Especially from the longer tenured staff there.
