Where to Drink Margaritas in Orange County for MargaritaCon | Eater

"The margarita is one of the world’s most popular cocktails, so it makes sense that this Rancho Santa Margarita Italian restaurant would feature one alongside other Old World-influenced cocktails. The house margarita here keeps it simple, with lime as the only citrus taste alongside Astral Tequila Blanco and simple syrup, making it a great drink to pair with Mediterranean chicken or other protein-forward entrees." - Robert Spuhler

11/17/2025 Stopped in here to have a bite with a friend. Nice dim lighting creates a great ambiance. We were seated relatively quickly. Open seating in this occasion. Alejandro was very attentive to us. Not a long wait for our orders to be taken. They have an exquisite Salmon Salad. Dining area is very clean and organized. Either in-use or prepped for next customer use. Facilities clean and well maintained. Will surely return many times! Definitely a 5-star rating! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you Tutto Fresco! Thank you Stephen White! - Michael Montoya

Google
House bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar was good. My daughter liked her spaghetti with meatball. Meatball was a bit grainy for my liking, but my daughter still ate it, so no problem with that. I truly enjoyed the berry salad with pecans. That's the highlight of our restaurant visit.

Google
I love the two Tutto Frescos. The food is way better than most Italian restaurants. You can get a high quality meal for reasonable prices. This visit however, the 3 lamb chops were cooked 3 different temperatures. And the table service was basically a drop your food off only. In the past, they've come back to check on you, offered fresh grated cheese on whatever, and taken plates. Neither happened on this slow Monday night. Disappointing. But I will go back as the MANY times I've been before, it's been better.

Google
Terrific Italian restaurant with great food, ambience, and service. Very reasonably priced. Authentic and fresh with fast preparation, wonder how they do it to have even a drive through for the full menu. Humongous portions in entrees that you probably would need to box out. The starter bread is fresh and soft, a delight with the olive oil and balsamic. The chicken parmigiana with the pasta and marinara was a blast, the caesar side was fresh and the parmesan was of a very high quality. The pesto panini equally good. The restaurant has a unique American Italian ambience, has earthy tones inside and outside, has outdoor seating, is not located in an upscale restaurant row and is opposite a philly cheese steak sandwich shop in a strip mall which has other things like ammo, across the street are in-n-out and chick-filet, its in its own building though, parking seemed enough. The ordering is walk up or sit down, large screens behind the counter have food prep videos which are very appetizing. Friendly and caring servers. First time here, will go back for sure for dine in or drive through.

Friday nights at Tutto Fresco have been our tradition for the past four years, and it never disappoints. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a busy week. The food is always delicious, the restaurant is consistently clean, and the atmosphere is warm and family-friendly. On top of that, the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended!

Google
Sauces, bread and veggies were good. Chicken parmesan and the blackened chicken were both very dry and over cooked. Service started good...then our server disappeared for about 20 minutes. She reappeared with our overcooked chicken that seemed to have sat under a heat lamp and dried out. Maybe an off day for her or thecooks. I have had much better food and Service here in the past.

Robert S.

Google
Its order first, then find a seat, just a heads up. But, man, this place was the bomb. The food was really, really good. Fast and delicious. Service was fantastic. I had the lamb, and my wife had the picata. Overall, it was superb. My only issue was that they ran out of cheesecake, but that means it's really good, so order it with your meal.

SARA R.

Google
Good was worth the wait. We came during rush time so the team was definitely swamped with orders. I didn’t really get to see much of the inside besides the waiting area so there was not much I could say about the dine in service but definitely have some things on the menu I would like to try next time.

Yelp
My go-to Italian spot when I'm at work, only because it's super close and the food is delicious. You always get a great portion (I always have leftovers), and their bread is the best! It's soft and flavorful and you won't be able to stop eating it! They also have drive thru, which is totally different for an Italian spot. However, twice Ive tried to go through drive thru and it wasn't working because they were soooo busy.

Yelp
Best Delicious Fresh Fast Food!! We find a way to make it here anytime we are in the area. We fell in love with the food and ambiance of this restaurant. Have enjoyed every dish and we've picked a new one every time! Trying out the drive-thru for the first time and can't wait to enjoy the flavors of Tutto Fresco again. Ordered the meatball sandwich. Not only is the food delicious but all their staff is helpful and welcoming! Customer service doesn't take a back seat here! It's a perfect place to enjoy some Italian cuisine.

Yelp
Hadn't tried this place yet, and I'll say it didn't disappoint. Loved the flavor of the food, and the bread was delicious! They even gave me an extra bag of bread when I left for the next day with my leftovers!

Yelp
This restaurant is great for large party since everyone order their food at the cashier and pay up front. No need to divide up the big bill for big party, everyone pay when they order their food. Their servers are very attentive as well. They have a nice outdoor patio, perfect for a sunny day luncheon. The food portion are huge, enough for 2 people. Their salads are excellent. We ordered an Antipasto Salad and a Pescatore Pasta. Both are delicious. But the one item i enjoyed the most is their Spumoni ice cream. It s very good flavor and has a little nuts in there as well. Much better than any other Spumoni I ever had. Definitely will come back.

Yelp
It was my first time here at Tutto Fresco. The environment is casual, but nice and was pretty busy for the lunch hour. There were some booths and tables in the dining room. Dined here for lunch with a work partner. It was easy to order at the counter and we were given a number to take to our table of our choosing. Our salads were brought out rather quickly, and we had bread along with butter or oil and vinegar. We ordered the lunch option of spaghetti and meatball and my coworker had a pasta dish with chicken chipotle I believe. She really loved her pasta dish and I enjoyed the spaghetti and meatballs. While the dish didn't overly wow me, it was pretty good and the perfect portion for lunch. Sure, I would return to try some other dishes.

Yelp
When you want a semi fancy and fast Italian restaurant you should come here. It's a great sit down that can be casual or a nice date night out. I can always count on the bread tasting fresh out of the oven and the pasta tasting delicious! I love coming here! Everyone is also very friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
First time here, my niece was craving pasta and she mentioned ravioli so we came here. Dined in on a Friday night and wasn't sure how it worked, sit down or order at the counter? We ordered and everyone was super nice. Reminds me of a homey Chili's kind of? I opted for the Camera pasta. Good flavor, probably not the most healthy option but the portion was a good size. Enough chicken/ sausage and the sauce was good. Was looking at others entrees and everything looks decent for under $20ish dollars.
google avatar

Yelp
Gourmet food from a drive up window so unbelievably good lobster ravioli always over the top. You can see the lobster in the ravioli.#TheBestRavioli.

Food amazing! Impeccable Service Ambience is really nice relax very home welcoming will definitely return very soon Thank you! Did I mention the food was delicious and amazing The waiters here really care about their customers it was a pleasure to meet them, Thank you for the hospitality.

Yelp
I am a big fan of Tutto Fresco. This location in particular always has great service. I enjoy the clean booths and someone is always attentive. I arrived on a Friday evening and it quickly got busy. Our server brought us bread and the iconic Italian dip for it. Although technically you order up at the front, our server gladly took our order at the table. My sister and I got the pesto chicken pasta and the meats pizza. The pesto is insane! So delicious and flavorful. I highly recommend it. For dessert, we got Tiramisu and it did not fail. I look forward to coming back and selecting more to taste from their awesome menu.

Yelp
I came here with coworkers for a work lunch and the food here is solid. Tasty and delicious. I had lasagna and it was really good. Nice seasoning all did nicely. That Harvest Berry salad actually exceeded my expectations. I took it home later and had it for dinner and didn't need anything else. I also grabbed the cannoli for take out and that was great. Service was really good as well. Our server was very attentive. Although he was busy over the lunch hour and forgot a couple of things, he did well for the most part, especially considering we were a big group. Place was clean and I love that, too. All that said, while the food here was yummy, I wouldn't go out of my way to drive down to Santa Ana and eat here on my own time and bring my husband. That was a very respectable lasagna, though it wasn't top tier. It's a solid 4.
google avatar

Steven N.

Yelp
Lowkey hidden gem. You wouldn't expect much from an Italian spot with a drive-thru, but this place delivers. The lasagna was solid--cheesy, meaty, just the right amount of sauce. The chicken Alfredo with broccoli was rich and comforting without being heavy in a bad way. It's the kind of food you go to when you don't want to think too hard--just warm, familiar, and filling. Even the Caesar salad was fresh, and the free bread? Dangerous if you're hungry, in a good way. Customer service was genuinely friendly, which surprised me for a fast-food setup. You don't get that kind of energy at most places like this. Spent $40 for two entrees and a salad, and felt good about it. No frills, just solid food when you need it most.

Yelp
Here we are in the end quarter of 2025 - and this place still rocking along strong - my favorite dish remains the Chicken Tortelini - the better half eats that or the lasagna - the bread is fantastic as always - the service on point! If you are feeling Italian and are in the area - cant go wrong here ever!

Yelp
As always, great service, reasonably priced, tasty food delivered to our table quickly frin the kitchen. I tried their new Seafood Cajun Pasta descibed as a mix of seafood & pasta in a Cajun butter sauce priced @$29.00. When it arrived, it was a large sized bowl chock full of a seafood medley: mussels, scallops, giant shrimp and sausage resting a a generous portion of pasta and all swimming in the Cajun butter sauce. I was unsure how spicy the Cajun butter sauce would be but while it was very flavorful, it was not soicy at all, at least for me as someone who uses Tabasco like some people use ketchup. The seafood was all delecious and not fishy or musy in taste or texture. The giant prawn crowning the dish was yummy but really messy to eat. The legs were really spiky and painful to hold with your fingers, and wasn't worthy of the pain to see if I could retrievecand meat from them. Extra napkins accompaying this entree would have been a nice thought. Despite those very minor isdues, I would re-order this entree again.

Yelp
Another great experience with 10 of us having dinner! Erika was a doll, she brought all the food to our table with Palo, and she was able to serve us the Eggplant Rollatini, which used to be on their menu and is fabulous! So if you know about it, and like eggplant, it's delicious. Then I had the usual Baked Ziti w. eggplant, mushrooms & meatballs. We all had a great time, and the food was exceptional, as was their tomato sauce. It's a really nice interior with Italian music playing in the background. We had lots of delicious desserts, I think we had about 4 of them. The Spamoni is delicious, the Mud Pie great, Carrot Cake and Hot Brownie w. ice cream. Can't wait to return, this place never disappoints, and is a real winner!!

Yelp
If I ever get lost, just check Tutto Fresco because there's a 99% chance I'm here, living my best (and most carb filled) life. The lasagna So good it made me question every life choice that led me to eating frozen lasagna in the past. The Margherita pizza Let's just say if I had to choose between it and my long-lost childhood dreams the pizza wins every time. And the garlic bread? Oh. My. God. If I could legally marry it, I would. Crispy, buttery, garlicky perfection. I may or may not have whispered "I love you" to it before taking a bite. Tutto Fresco, you have my heart and probably a permanent reservation for me.
google avatar

Michelle N.

Yelp
We were driving to pick up some donuts for a potluck when we stumbled upon Tutto Fresco. The drive-through pasta aspect caught our eye. We took a U-turn to check it out. I was craving some Italian food and this met the mark. The pasta was freshly made. We came inside because we had time and it's not a fancy place with no frills, but the food is delicious! It was super busy during the dinner rush, but a quick order at the register and 10-15 minutes later, our food was ready to bring to the function. We ordered the cajun chicken pasta (8.5/10) and the meat bolognese (7/10). I enjoyed that the pasta came with bread, balsamic vinaigrette, and parmesan. Our friends enjoyed it too and we'll be adding Tutto Fresco to our casual eats and takeout rotation.

Yelp
I love the food! But today we came to eat and I can't believe the manager, she didn't even bothered to apologize for not bringing my food on time... they brought my husband and daughter, but it seems they forgot about mine... I had to share from my family's plate. When I asked to get my money back, at least she gave it back to me... but anyways, I was really disappointed not to enjoy my salmon salad. The waiters are very nice and friendly!

Yelp
Good was very good. Prices are good. I ordered a Cobb Salad that was very good, just didn't like how the blue cheese was given too clumpy. Staff was super friendly and location was clean. The he portions are huge.

Yelp
My nephew and his fiancé took to go items from the Tustin location on Saturday night. Lasagna was great specially with the extra sauce we ordered Caesar salad was good and we split four ways a tiramisu and a cheesecake. Would order the lasagna again

Yelp
Good italian food with lots of selections. You at the counter and pay, they deliver the food. they have a nice typical italian decor and vibrant colorful paint. Accessible and lots of parking in the area.

Yelp
Well-prepared Italian classics and specialties in a pleasant, casual environment with excellent service.

Yelp
food was absolutely amazing chipotle chicken pasta 9/10 it had a lot of complimenting flavors and didnt feel as heavy as i thought chicken tortellini 7/10 very comforting and delicious spinach and artichoke dip was SO GOOD service was good, we have to find a seat (someone will bring menu) and then go up to the stand to order and pay at the same time
google avatar

Marigely M.

Yelp
Food is really good . I ordered Alfredo fettuccine...and it taste delicious. My friend ordered chicken chipotle or something like that ... also taste delicious.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my experience here each time I go here for lunch or dinner. The pasta I tried today was really good and creamy. I like how the noodles is not too hard. The customer service was good. The waiters would come check up on you to see how we we're doing.

Yelp
This was my first time here on a week day and for what it is I'm actually teeter tottering whether or not I'll come here again for lunch. It was nice that there was a lunch special which is what I got. I asked the server/order taker to help me decide on what to order of what's her favorites. FYI you order at the front and if you're dining in they'll bring you your food to your table. On the menu, the lunch special is served Mon - Fri until 4:00pm lunch-size portion of paste (excludes Gnocchi al Carne, Lobster Ravioli, Truffle Shrimp & Cajun Seafood) and petite caesar salad. You can also substitute garden salad or soup $1 more. This was a good deal. I just don't know if the pasta choice I got was something I'll get again. I got the chipotle pasta with blackened chicken $17. I just felt the chipotle sauce overpowered everything. On the menu it said that the chipotle pasta comes with linguine, blackened chicken, sautéed red and yellow peppers, tomatoes, corn, onions, chipotle cream sauce. You can also substitute shrimp for $18. I just didn't taste the rest of the ingredients like the tomatoes, corn, and peppers because it the chipotle cream sauce is overpowering. Chicken was definitely blackened and a bit dry. I only ate half of the pasta even though it was already a smaller portion. I enjoyed the Caesar salad and bread that came with the lunch special. One of the servers also asked if I wanted olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I also asked which was better, the calamari or the fried zucchini because I'm a fan of both. The server said she enjoyed the calamari more and she's right. The calamari was crispy and the sauces that came with it are two very different flavors. One was tomato basil and the other was a jalapeno tartar but it wasn't even close to being spicy at all. I didn't even know there were jalapeños on there. I also ordered a glass of Lambrusco. Altogether I spent around $45 including tip. Maybe next time I should order a more authentic pasta. Ambiance was okay. 3-4 table booths were dirty when I was trying to figure out where I wanted to sit. Bathrooms were acceptable. The area gave an old rustic feel. Oh I forgot to mention this is the only Italian place that I know that has a drive thru, which I saw a few cars there waiting in the line while I was leaving. There's also plenty of parking and they do cater and hold private parties here if you're interested.
google avatar

Terry L.

Yelp
We have eaten at this restaurant a few times and received delicious, fresh food served with a smile. We decided to get dinner at the drive through and ordered online and then brought it home. There was a decided difference in the food from the drive thru. I ordered the Mediterranean Chicken...not at all like the picture on line. There were only a few vegetables floating in a brown vinegar flavored sauce with a chunk of chicken on the bottom. After 2 bites, I took it to the sink and ran it down the garbage disposal. TERRIBLE! My wife ordered the Pear Salad and was happy with her meal. My advice....DON"T order food from their drive through...it is not the same as served in the restaurant.
google avatar

Kareen-Grace T.

Yelp
Used the drive-thru to order food. I didn't realize the menu was completely different from the dine-in, but it made sense. I ordered an avocado turkey grilled sandwich with fries and a chicken pasta dish called "camera." Both were delicious and satisfying. I thoroughly enjoyed the camera dish. The rigatoni was perfectly al dente. The sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, and caramelized onions all worked together, making the dish addictive.

Dana G.

Yelp
The food was amazing !! Will be coming back everytime I'm here!! The fried zucchini are the best we've ever had . Service was great too!

Dania S.

Yelp
We visit this place for the 1st time, we like the food and the costumer service, but we didn't like the desserts they didn't taste fresh at all!
google avatar

Sabrina N.

Yelp
Food was good! Ordered chipotle pasta with chicken. Svc was terrible. They didn't ask how everything was. Did offer refills for my son but not on my water. I also mentioned i wanted a separate order to go and I wanted to pay for that. They put it on my son's bill. At 1st he brought me a to go container when I never asked for 1. Pay attention/listening isn't their strong suit. Won't be going back to Santa Ana location
google avatar

Yelp
Another great trip to Tutto Fresco! Came for lunch with the family after church, and it was not crowded at all. We were seated promptly, and the staff handled everything at our table. As it got busier, the transitioned smoothly to handling orders at the counter, but that was not the case for us. We opened with the spinach and artichoke dip, and after allowing it to cool, it was just as tasty as I dreamed it to be. My daughter enjoyed the fettuccine alfredo, and it was a good sized portion consisting it was a kids meal. My son and his cheese pizza became fast friends as well - it was a touch on the basic side, but for a kids pizza it hit the spot. My mother ordered the antipasto salad, and it was massive. Could be shared if not treated as a meal for sure. Wifey ordered the Fontaine, and it was a touch greasy for her liking, but she enjoyed it nonetheless. I ordered the chipotle chicken pasta and it was wonderful. Creamy, full flavored, and just enough heat to notice it was there. Overall, the seats were clean. The table was freshly wiped. And the restrooms were spotless! Special shout out to the forethought that went into putting a large floor drain with a grate under the urinal. Someone was thinking ahead, and the underside of my shoes thanks you. Lastly, I want to give all kinds of kudos to our server. She managed the floor so effortlessly, with a great attitude, and her smile was authentic and bright! Thank you, Erika!

Yelp
This is not fancy food but it's comfort food done so well. The marinara sauce is tangy and delicious, garlic bread hits like it should and portions are generous enough you will have leftovers. The staff is friendly and helpful, we arrived ~45 minutes before closing and while we kept ourselves moving we were never rushed by staff. My friends who have been lots say the quality is just as good for take away too. Great spot for casual family meal. I can't wait to head back to California so I can return!
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely love this place for Italian . Amazing customer service by everyone!! All staff keeps checking in on you and everyone is literally always polite. This is truly fresh Italian for each plate. Very family friendly. Lots of parking. Amazing selection of dishes for everyone- kids and adults.

Luce F.

Yelp
A tiny treasure in a cute little house that stands among other eateries. at Tustin Avenue and 17th Street, Santa Ana The food is consistently delicious and FRESCA! Fish, chicken, pasta. It is all there. The sauces are light; perfect blends of herbs and spices. The portions are substantial and bread with balsamic/olive oil is included in every meal. Eat half if you must, because the desserts are absolutely worth trying. Nonna would be proud!
google avatar

Yelp
Yummy, what else can I say? Easy to order on the website. Picked up the order and enjoyed the meal. I ordered the Turkey Bacon Avocado Panini. Amazing!!

Katalin B.

Yelp
Food is first class .Tasty not overspiced and light. We love the pizza that is as good as it would be in Italy . Good service and reasonably priced Thank you Katalin

Van T.

Yelp
The food is great! I haven't dined in yet, so I can't comment on the dine-in experience, but I ordered online and picked up through the drive-thru. It took about 45 minutes to reach the window and get my food, even though there were only 4-5 cars ahead of me. If the drive-thru can't provide faster service, what's the point of having one? A better system might be to let customers order and then wait in designated parking spots instead of blocking the line. Please improve the process--your customers would really appreciate it.

Lisa B.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this little gem when my friend asked me to swing through the drive-thru for some food. But as soon as I saw how charming it looked from the outside, I decided to go inside instead--and I'm so glad I did! The moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The place just had that perfect welcoming vibe. My friend ordered the chicken parm sandwich (not pictured), and she raved about how amazing it was! It comes with a side, and the portions were generous. I went with the meatballs and a side salad. The meatballs were hearty, packed with flavor, and smothered in a perfectly balanced tangy red sauce. The salad was fresh and crisp, loaded with toppings--definitely not just an afterthought! This spot is a fantastic find, and I'll absolutely be back to dine in. A bonus? They do have a drive-thru, which might make you think it's just another fast-food place--but trust me, it's so much more than that!

Joseph D.

Yelp
Family friendly atmosphere. Everyone was terrific. Food was pretty decent. I had the lamb and it was very good although not a huge amount. Service was attentive. I liked the people that work there. Nice indoor and outdoor seating.
google avatar

Sarah B.

Yelp
Tutto Fresco is the best! I love the concept of a drive-thru where you can grab delicious, freshly made pasta on the go. It's so convenient, and they never skimp on portions. Plus, they always give you an abundance of their incredible bread (and it's some of the best bread you'll ever have)! The Cardinale and Fontaine dishes are my absolute favorites - I highly recommend both. Tutto Fresco is also a delicious and affordable option if you need some catering! There are many options here and the great service is also a plus. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This place is such a hidden gem. Unfortunately, the neighborhood isn't that great, but it has been improving. Anyway, I've never been disappointed with anything I've ordered. Normally, I go for the roasted chicken or chicken piccata. As of late, I tried their pesto chicken panini. Holy cow is that sandwich great! Also, quite possibly the best grilled cheese I've ever had. And the tomato soup it comes with, top tier. For a favorite pasta dish, gotta go with the chipotle chicken pasta. Apart from the food, I've experienced nothing but the best customer service. All in all, I would say this place deserves your business and you should try it out.

Tishie S.

Yelp
So the food Was good but service could be better. Firstly they forgot to charge us corkage. Secondly they brought the foos out too quickly without giving us bread and bringing the main dish before the apps. It was all too fast as well. The only thing they did right was the timing on desert.
google avatar

Samantha L.

Yelp
10/10 loved tutto fresco! I wanted a basic chicken with veggies and potatoes and they didn't not disappoint. I ordered to go the girl on the register was very knowledgeable and kind, the order only took about 15 minutes considering how busy they were.. And the food was still hot once we got home. My order was a grilled chicken with potatoes & veggies and it still came with a side salad so I did a basic garden salad with balsamic dressing. My friend got the chicken Marsala with pasta & a ceaser salad. 10/10 will be back to try the rest of the menu!.

Dana Y.

Yelp
Food was amazing and definitely gave a homey/comfy vibe. When you order, you go up to the front bar to order and pay, then they bring you your food at your booth. We got the chicken tortellini, chipotle chicken pasta, and spinach and artichoke dip. Food came out quickly and servers were nice and checked in frequently. I see it as a reliable simple place to go when you're craving a homey bowl of pasta. Also, the free bread was great, very soft and flavorful with the oil and balsamic vinegar.
google avatar

Adri R.

Yelp
Chicken piccata paired with a Caesar salad is a classic combination that's hard to beat. It's always a pleasant surprise when a place exceeds our expectations, especially when it looks like a simple to-go spot but delivers on flavor.
google avatar

Dennis L.

Yelp
The service is excellent. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. The food was just average. The texture of our sandwiches were good. But the chicken in both our chicken panini and parmigiana sandwich were dry the flavor was decent. The starter bread is outstanding. The ambience is nice and the bathrooms are clean.
google avatar

Dang P.

Yelp
Came to check out this place with a friend and was very pleasantly surprised. The ambiance here is super chill and casual. You order your food at the front counter, grab an empty table, and your food is brought out for you shortly afterwards. For our food, we chose the chicken marsala and the fettuccine alfredo. For the price that we paid, it was totally worth it. The food was delicious and filling. The entrees were also served with focaccia bread and a salad. Love it! Would even maybe tried the drive through one day.
