When she hits, she hits, but when she misses, she MISSES BIG! And this time, she missed HUGE. And to top it off, the unprofessionalism with which she addresses customer concerns respectfully raised to her is unheard of. Don't make the mistake of disregarding the negative reviews you see here. They're 100% a true reflection of how this person conducts business.
I utilized Twice As Sweet to make my husband's groom's cake for our wedding back in June 2022. The cake cake out great, so I placed a cupcake order in January 2023 for my birthday which was great as well.
For our 1 year wedding anniversary, I reached out to have a cake made June 2023, and unfortunately this was a terrible experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone.
The cake was extremely dry, crumbly, and kept falling apart. It was so bad that we ended up throwing the cake away after just 2 days. Honestly, our wedding cake top that was in our freezer for a year was far more moist and edible than the cake I'd just purchased from Twice Sweet.
Because I'd had 2 positive past experiences with cakes from this provider and genuinely wanted to share feedback to benefit the owner, I respectfully reached out to inform her of the issues just in case she used a different product or procedure that may have caused this change. She notified me that she added a new product to enhance moisture that may have been the cause of the trouble. This vendor then replied "I can offer you a refund. I'm sorry it was dry," which I thought was noble of her in terms of customer service because I didn't ask for a refund. My intention was simply to share helpful feedback and she could take it or leave it.
Given the fact that we barely got to eat any of the nearly $100 cake before throwing it out, I agreed to take her up on the refund request and asked if I should pick it up or if it would come via chashapp, to which she replied "Cashapp."
Several days passed and I didn't receive any follow up or see the refund come through, so I sent a request via cashapp. It was immediately declined and I received a text saying she could only offer me a 50% refund because the cake would need to be returned for a full refund.
When I texted this vendor initially about the issues with the cake, I still had it in my trash and would've happily pulled it out and brought it to her if she stated that was the refund policy. In fact, i asked if i needed to come in person to receive my refund and she said no.
I followed up with a call and text asking why this was not stated when SHE OFFERED me a refund, as I would've happily brought the cake back. Of course, no response or answer.
She's also now saying the refund needs to come through zelle or vendor when she originally said it would come through cashapp as that's the method I used to pay.
Now I see why she didn't respond to anything. She's clearly more concerned with taking people's money than delivering quality customer service AND quality cakes to loyal customers.
At the very least, she could've offered to remake the cake (if not issuing a full refund), but she didn't even do that.
This recent experience s such a shame because I've referred this vendor to several coworkers and friends getting married, and i was planning to have a cake made for my husband's birthday in August. I'll definitely resend those recommendations and encourage anyone considering ordering from this provider to beware. Lack of integrity and professionalism.
