"If there’s one thing that gets me out of my sweats and out the door, it’s the promise of seasoned, thinly-sliced meat swaddled in bread. So when I heard gyro wraps were on the menu at Twins Halal Bakery in West Oakland, I rolled up to the small takeout window and got one for myself. Inside the lovingly tin-foiled soft pita was lamb, lettuce, and tomatoes, slathered in a garlicky yogurt sauce. Those pitas are the reason this family-run Afghan place is one of my favorite takeout spots. If you like the idea of unboxing perfect vegetable bolanis, meat-filled mantus, qabuli palows, and crispy waffles fries at your table like you’re some sort of influencer, something tells me you’re going to feel the same way." - Lani Conway

Woah! Twins Halal House & Bakery looks like a small fast food dive on the corner. However, their food packs a wallop in flavor!! I wasn't really hungry so I ordered the chicken wings and fries. Before opening it, a delectable aroma was wafting through the air. Omg! Where did they get these wings? They were ginormous! One bite...it was so moist, tender and full of flavor... Their fries were the waffle kind. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I also ordered the potato Bolani with ranch dressing and Kabuli Pulow with pieces of lamb in the rice. Both were very filling, delish and just good!! I will definitely come back again for their food!!

Had the Lola wrap here and it was excellent. Very flavorful but if you need some extra spice they got hot sauce. Quality is great and the folks here are very friendly. Can’t wait to go back and try the other items. I think I’ve found my favorite go to comfort food place.

OMG, definitely try this place out. The Kebab combo plate was amazing. The portions were generous, the meat cooked and seasoned to perfection, and the service was top notch. I will absolutely visit these guys again in the future.

Great price, tasty foods, great portions. Had the lola wrap and potato bolani. The latter has a nice kick to it, comes in large amount, great to share with others.

Really good counter service Mediterranean fare. Really friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Menu current as of june 2022. The gyro I had was really tasty as were their fries. Good amount of garlic and the meat was tender and flavorful.

I’ve been here twice. Both times our dishes were super fresh and everything was delicious. We tried the Kabuli Palau, the combo kebab and the Mantu dumplings. Highly recommend.

This place is great. A small mom-and-pop like place with delicious food. We got the Mantu Dumpling side (comes with 5 dumplings) and the Sheer Brenj rice pudding. The dumplings were super tender and packed with flavor. Sheer Brenj didn’t have any toppings, but still delicious with cardamom flavor. Would definitely come back for a full meal.

Delicious dinner for a good price! We got the bolani, chicken kabob plate, and chicken karahi. Especially loved the chicken karahi. Think the sauces are homemade, perfect. Also wonderful and friendly service!
