Trendy bakery serving up picturesque croissants! Arrive early before they sell out. The croissants are buttery and crispy, while the cakes are beautifully decorated and delicious. They offer unique flavors like apricot and baklava custard pies. I ordered the chocolate croissant and rhubarb cake. The croissant was tender, and the filling was rich and decadent. Pastries are quite pricey but expected for a high-end cafe, around $7.50-9 per pastry and $4-7 for coffee/drinks. Street parking is available, but it gets crowded quickly, so you might have to walk. This place is perfect for little dates, studying, or a special treat.

I found this place during a Westmoreland urban walk......and what a great find!!!!! Located along Bybee Blvd. ,close the intersection of Milwaukie Ave. ,this location was conveniently situated about halfway into my neighborhood ramble. The great heady smell of " butta" is the first smell that greets you as you enter Twisted. A positive indicator if you're looking for croissants 😀. The pastry selections were plentiful, and all looked delicious . Limiting decisions obviously would be difficult . I selected a marcona almond croissant and an apple cranberry 😋 croissant , although my eyes wanted 1 of EVERYTHING. Both were buttery 🧈 and flavorful. Different. Not ordinary and loaded with filling. Coffee and tea were decent, but the pastry was definitely the highlight here. Handicap ♿️ very doable. Service efficient and friendly. It's not inexpensive but definitely value for money spent. Atmosphere is functionally stark and minimalist Highly recommended 👌. I'll be back to expand my croissant grazing here at Twisted .

Holy cow! Today I bought a butter croissant and a baklava custard pie with citrus. The croissant was exactly what you should expect in a croissant. VERY flaky but fluffy and buttery inside. Delicious. Now, the custard pie: unbelievable. It's hard to describe how good it is. It's not served chilled so I highly recommend that you take it home and put it in the fridge for a few hours. I've never had anything like it. I hope it's not a one- time item they make. I will definitely go back even though I live 40 minutes away. They are very talented at this joint.

Took one bite out of the raspberry, vanilla and rose cruffin and immediately thought it was life changing and worth every single buttery, flaky and delicious calorie. Wow!! After finishing my tumeric latte I purchase three others pastries to take home. Shiitake quiche was delicious. Chocolate croissant-heavenly. Peach cruffin - divine. The hubby had a marionberry cronut and Didn’t want to share. Yes, it’s expensive, but worth every single cent.

I’m very particular about my baked goods, especially croissants (ok, I’m a croissant snob). I’ve spent enough time in France and in high-quality bakeries elsewhere to recognize that most croissants sold in the United States are terrible. This place is a welcome exception. The quality of their products is outstanding. I visited their Sellwood location with my husband on Sunday morning, and we ordered four items: a “big breakfast croissant”, a chocolate croissant, a vanilla kouign-amman, and a raspberry-rose cruffin. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the store had a really nice ambiance. I understand that it sometimes gets crowded, but we didn’t have that problem this visit. The breakfast croissant was square-ish and oversized, topped with bacon and filled with scrambled eggs, heated before serving; it was crunchy, flaky, and delicious. I expected the chocolate croissant to be a version of the French pain au chocolat (aka chocolatine), but it was unique… a traditional croissant shape with stripes of chocolate on the outside and wonderful bittersweet chocolate on the inside. A kouign-amman is a slightly obscure pastry that originated in Brittany, made with laminated dough and lots of butter and sugar… imagine a cross between a croissant and a sticky bun. They’re usually quite small, but this one was sizable and vanilla flavored. Not traditional, but amazing nonetheless. Finally, the cruffin (a hybrid between a muffin and a croissant) contained a raspberry filling with a hint of rose water, and was topped with a dollop of fresh whipped cream and whole raspberries. It was fantastic. The common element in all of these items was a croissant-style laminated dough, and they got it absolutely right… buttery, delicate, and crispy, almost shattering when you bite into it. The shop makes other pastries, many of which are not croissant-related, but I didn’t have an opportunity to try anything else. I’ll fix that next time I’m back, which I guarantee will be soon!

We didn’t make it to the shop until noon on a Saturday, so the cases were empty. We did manage to nab one of their infamous cruffins and a uniquely flavored doughnut (sesame seed!). Both were tasty, but I’m not entirely sure this lived up to the hype. Make no mistake, though, it’s a tasty stop curated by talented bakers.

Oh Lawd, this place deserves more than 5 stars! The food is out of this world! Super flaky and crispy, the balance of sweet and savory is perfectly harmonized here! Come get some baked goodness !

Making tasty treats with croissant dough? Count me in! (The brioche donuts are pretty good too.) Always so delicious. One of my favorite places in Portland! (Although I did miss the pumpkin cruffin this year. It's my absolute favorite thing that they've ever made and I didn't see it this year.) I know I'm in for a good day if I get out the door in time to make it here before work!

nothing like some breakfast pastries to start your day off right! -- FOOD -- what we got: pain au chocolat - a classic. delicious, flaky, buttery, all the good words. pecan & vanilla tart - I'm not a pecan girlie, but this was v tasty! the crust was lovely & it wasn't too sweet!! char siu croissant - a savory croissant?! ummmm, yeah. don't have a pic, but highly recommend getting the cruffins!! -- WHERE TO FIND THEM -- they have a couple of store locations in portland & they're also at a lot of local farmers markets in the area, specifically at: * beaverton farmers market * psu farmers market * lake oswego farmers market * hillsdale farmers market * montavilla farmers market soooo make sure to keep an eye out & check their ig for their latest updates. -- MORE INFO -- PARKING : never had a problem finding street parking near & around the location. SEATING/VIBE : variety of seating (not a ton though) & lots of natural light! perf for a lil coffee/pastry date. AREA: I really like this area of sellwood-moreland. there are other eateries & stores around (antique stores, anime store, craft store & more). it's a really nice area to walk around & explore for an afternoon!

The croissants are nothing special. The atmosphere is blah. The staff are not welcoming or friendly. I would not recommend nor will I return. Spend your money else where.

Back home in my neighborhood and I had no plans to post any reviews. I'm vacationing from my responsibilities (job and foodie wise). Here I am minding my own business and then all of a sudden they open up a big time bakery right in my neighborhood and right in my face. What's a guy to do? Been to Twisted about 3 times now. The offerings are ridiculously delicious. This Marion berry pull apart is a seasonal offering and it knocked me over completely. Dense, fruity, flaky, and it's a pull apart. How do you not love that? I know the makings of a great bakery when I see one. If this place was here while I was growing up I would be 446 pounds. Congrats Twisted. Keep going strong. (4.6 Stars)

Nice to see that Twisted opened up another shop in the center of SE Sellwood. I've been to the flagship bakery on NE Broadway several times. Twisted knows how to male laminated pastries! Buttery layers of deliciousness! They make croissants and "chuffins" which are basically a mash-up of a croissant and a muffin. They are available in a number of flavor combinations and they really hit the spot! Buttery, flakey and totally yummy! I'm a huge fan of anything lemon and their lemon meringue croissant has just a hint of lemon filling and a piping of meringue on top. It adds sweetness but it doesn't make the croissant too sweet, if that makes sense. The cardamom orange croissant knot is also fabulous, I love any pastry that has cardamom, it gives it a "what is this flavor" moment and then turns into a smile. The raspberry, vanilla, rose chiffon is what dreams are made of! Oh, my! Get there early as they sell out quickly. Actually, if you have your heart set on anything specific, get there early. They make what they predict to sell that day as these pastries are all meant to be eaten fresh. So while there is a pretty large variety, there are finite amounts of each. For those savory lovers - which I am also a fan - they offer ham & cheese croissants, a spinach and mushroom cruffin and several other options. My favorite is the Monte Carlo, a croissant filled with turkey, ham and Gruyère cheese. The croissant is buttery and has a light maple glaze, the sweet complimenting the turkey & ham filling. It's topped with crumbled bacon so it hits all taste points! Savory, sweet & salty. Fabulous for breakfast or lunch. Check them out, it's a twist on the traditional croissant, in a good way!

Miki, who was a pastry chef for about 10 years said "Wow, this is a really talented pastry chef!" The pastries were as tasty as they were beautiful and inventive. I think I win. I had a black sesame brioche donut. As if the very name we're not enough... on biting in I found it was filled not only with black sesame paste, but whipped cream. Wow, did this work! So good! Miki had a fruit tart, which sounds unspectacular, but was anything other than that! The pastry itself was a gorgeous study in modern technique for bringing forward all the hundreds of layers in the millefeuille, such high level technique! Miki said they sure don't skimp on the real butter either! Altogether what would perhaps otherwise been simply tasty was a wonderful combination of flavors and textures. We WILL SO ABSOLUTELY be back! Pro Tip: Westmoreland, or simply the "Moreland" part of Sellwood-Moreland is often overlooked, but it is a wonderful slice of old Portland with many funky little shops centered around the intersection of Bybee and Milwaukee, especially Northward. We found a wonderful gem shop, a truly unique soaps and incense store, lots of pub&grub spots that will really take you back, most with breakfast all day, and even a great bike store! So, come not just for pastry (but, you MuST include it at some point!) but for a great little day of shopping and food!

Cute ambiance. Friendly staff. The service was sensational. Food is superb. At the time of visit there wasn't much of a variety, but that means I must visit again.

A newer place. In wonderful sellwood. We had the Cappuccino and a ham/cheese croissant. Most of the times these are greasy, stale and dry. Not here. Fluffy, fresh and sumptuous. Okay maybe I got carried away. This is worth a try as the coffee is very good and the pastries varied and good.

Cute and clean little bakery located in Sellwood. Kind and friendly staff, and delicious food. I ordered the mushroom quiche and a lavender latte with oat milk. The quiche was amazing, much better than I expected. I was served warm and had a flaky, buttery, pastry crust. Would definitely order it again. The coffee was just ok, would probably just go for a drip next time.

I've been here a few times now and every time it falls flat. The staff are incredibly rude each time I come in. They lack the knowledge on what has and doesn't have nuts. With the lack of care to look into it. Not to mention they seem so bothered to be at their job and doing their job that you almost have any to say sorry to them for ordering from them. I ordered a tea that was so hot I have a burn. So I warn you to let it cool down for a while before you enjoy it. The croissant falls flat and anything I've ordered that's with filling ends up spilling out the sides creating a huge mess. Sellwood has so many cute cafes so if you're looking for one, I'd skip this one.

Quiche was not tasty. Followed the heating instructions but it was weirdly flabby pastry that wasn't very flavorful. The filling (cauliflower) was very unpleasant even though I love cauliflower. It tasted weirdly sour.

So, so good! I wish I could give a more in depth review, I went in with specific items in mind to try and almost everything was sold out (I leaned my lesson to go early if you have your heart set on something) so I just grabbed what they had left and don't really remember what it was. The coffee was incredible, and the black sesame donut was so good! I can't wait to come back to try more of their items.

Go to Twisted if you want to relax for a moment and enjoy your breakfast pastry or you don't want the flat tire pastries across the street at Starbucks. The pastries are delicious. I ordered a croissant and pear galette and latte and sat down for a spell. The croissant is buttery, flaky, soft on the inside with hard exterior. As I eat the croissant it falls apart and I mean hilariously so. According to my Parisian cabbie a few months back in Paris, this is due to freezing the croissant prior to baking. He was a true croissant connoisseur and appreciated the fresh handmade croissant we just made in a class and handed him for delivering us safety to our Parisian hole. He could tell the difference between frozen and fresh, can you? Once you've tasted fresh croissants there's no going back. Don't get me wrong about the croissants, these croissants are better than most in Portland, I just wish they didn't fall apart. The pear galette is tasty but possibly overly sweet when compared to similar confections at Grand Central. My spouse's chocolate croissant is decadent but falls apart similarly, leaving the corpse of a croissant on her plate. The latte I am sipping on between bites is tasty. I much prefer it over the coffee at Fetch or Starbucks across the street. And there you have it my bouigie review of the bouigie croissant parler in Westmoreland.

The food here is solid, the pastries are wonderful and creative. Unfortunately, the space and staff feel a little sterile... It's not the kind of place you'd want to sit and enjoy for a while.

They get a 5 star for product I had whatever they had left which was a original croissant, a berry one and a date croissant I also ordered a matcha mint latte which at first I didn't like the foam taste it was burnt taste but as I kept sipping it got more delicious. Service 2- They take your order. That's all. No hello no smile no thank you. I'm bigger on customer service than product so that was blah Ambience-eh Business Practice- Giving them a 3.5 because I'm nice I'll hit a 4 overall but the biggest con here is their weird hours. Even if it says they open online don't trust it. I drove the next day to get more for the road since I am from out of town. It said open til 2pm. It was closed. Then drove to the one in NE Portland on Broadway. Also closed. It was 12 noon. Talking to the locals they seem to have the same neg on this place. Hours are weird and online hours need updating so people don't waste their time and gas driving to a place that's closed most time.

Trying to take the smallest possible bites to extend my savoring. I had the ham and gruyere croissant, Melba had the leek and mushroom quiche, and we took a cherry chocolate pan suisse home. they sure know their dough--buttery, light, crisp and buttery. Pastries are heated when you order for there, and the quiche still a little cold in the middle. Great service, They've only been here a couple months and they need a little furniture and maybe a clearer idea how to arrange things. Happy to have them not far away.

Holy smokes this place was a lucky find! Wandering around the Sellwood neighborhood, I was full from lunch but still wanted to try this place out since everything looked so good! As the name suggests, most things are derived from a croissant base with lots of flaky layers. Went with the Boston creme which has some crumbly crunchy sprinkled on top. Delicious as it wasn't too sweet but still very decadent! I would try all the pastry here given the chance!

If you like croissants and high quality dessert in general. This is the place for you to be at. Their product is delicious and creative. They have a few different croissants to choose from, both sweet and savory. They also have a few other dessert options like cronuts. This stuff isn't cheap, but a well worth treat. Nice to see them grow from farmers markets to a second full time location.

Best pastry in the Portland metro. Best I've had outside of France. The common problem with pastry in the U.S. is bad lamination and dryness, or too sweet. I don't know anything about the baker, but if he/she is not classically trained, I would be very surprised. I haven't had a pastry here yet that wasn't superb.

Woof! This is one of those instances where words truly cannot describe how indescribably delicious the items are at Twisted. On a whim I did a Yelp search and found this delightful bakery. I joked about buying one of each items when I walked in and truth be told, I almost did buy one of each. The croissants caught my eye and even before trying one I knew it would be outstanding; and it was. A shellacked vision of beauty that crackled and splintered into a shower of crumbs that I admit I licked off my plate. And as much I loved the croissant, the cruffins! Those cruffins! I got a raspberry and a pumpkin and I only wish I had bought every one they had on hand. Towering sugary custard filled taste bombs that transported me to a level of unparalleled ecstasy. I live 30 minutes from Twisted but I assure you it's a 30 minute drive worth every mile. I'll be back. Again and again and again.

Coffee is always on point, but there's just no real descriptive words in the English dictionary for the plain croissant. Unbelievable. Indescribable. Perfection. Run, don't walk.

Honestly I was disappointed after seeing it hyped up on social media. Service was good and fast. I personally just didn't care for the cruffin(?) the muffin croissant one. The outside was baked well, the filling was just not for me I'm not sure what it was but taste wise no thanks. I'm also surprised there were no forks??? Like anywhere... and they just handed it to me on a plate...have you seen those things that's not a I can eat it with a hand. They also burned my partners pastry while heating it up. They got the rosemary ham and cheese. The cheese on the outside and the outer layer of pastry was burnt to a dark brown and it was an unsavory level of flakey. I don't think I'd come back.

When I need a cozy and yummy lift, Twisted is my go to. Today was for the Marion Berry Flan tart. So good. I've had so many tasty pastries here. Love to sit in a chair and indulge in a pastry with a cappuccino (which is always good). I've never left here unhappy with my experience. This is the place that has baked goods that dreams are about.

Neat place! Stopped by here a couple days ago and picked up some pastries for the office! HUGE HIT!!! My coworkers loved it! Was totally off the hook for being an hour late! *** I will definitely go back for some more when I'm late for work LOL!

This place has AMAZING food! Unfortunately I didn't get any food today because there are two different places to stand and order and that throws me so I went for food and ended up with just coffee and it had taken so long I couldn't start over. In the mean time another patron came in and they couldn't figure out where to queue up so they just left. The moral of the story is, don't make people stand in line twice. It is confusing and challenges our boundaries as we try to figure out how to efficiently get what we came for. I wont be back on a weekend. If it is slow they just help you instead of making you stand in line all over. I mean, do you want my money or not?

Stopped in to try a few baked goods - the orange cardamon croissant was excellent. Chocolate one was good, coffee excellent. What got me was how great the staff were. Super friendly and welcoming, I love that.

I have been to the Twisted in Sellwood several times. I think they have some of the best pastries in town. They also have good coffee. I love the raspberry rose cruffin and the pear tart. Everything is so perfectly decadent. I want to try the croissant doughnut when they change the flavor from banana. We usually take a couple of quiches home to warm up for dinner with a salad or for breakfast the next day. The very best croissants. The pastries are a little expensive but worth every cent. Pure heaven. I do wish they would be open for the hours they are supposed to be. We went at 2:30 one time and they had quit selling coffee drinks. Another time we went at 2:00 and it was already closed. I know they have a look they are going for, but you can't tell if it is open driving by - and if you didn't already know what it was you would think the space was vacant.

Doing a little research before it seemed they had allot of options but appears it depends on the day what they have. I enjoyed there butter croissant and it's a nice quiet hangout spot

SO GOOD! everything I've eaten at Twisted has been delicious. They do not disappoint. Cronuts are amazing.

Can't go wrong with their cruffin. Always good and always consistent. Tried their other pastries, it's a hit or a miss. Not terrible but just can't be compared to the raspberry cruffin they have. I think I've tried almost everything and nothing is memorable so just stick to the cruffin.

Buttery flakey perfection! Had some trouble finding legitimate croissants since moving here and finally at last!!!! Delicious original butter croissant and while not a pan Au chocolate fan, I found theirs to be outta this world! Wish they had more croissant varieties but the ones they do make are perfect!

Ordered current special donut- black sesame with vanilla and rosemary ham and cheese croissants. Delicate texture with extraordinary flavor. I actually went back in to get two more donuts (no judgment please). So believe the rave reviews!

Amazing, amazing pastries. I have frequented the NE Broadway location, happy to have the new location closer to home. Highly recommend the Raspberry Rose Cruffin.

Okay- was able to finally try them out. Updating from one star to two. My chocolate croissant was good but you can find comparable croissants for less. My wife ordered some sort of bacon Gruyère quiche and asked for them to heat it...it was hot along the edges and cold in the middle. Coffee was good.

went there after work ( around 4PM) two days in a row and it 's closed both times. Their website says the hour is 8AM to 6PM, that's why I thought it will be great for after work treats, but so far I only got disappointment

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!!! Their raspberry rose cruffin is TO DIE FOR!!!! I got 3-4 to share, and they even gave me a chocolate croissant for free!!!! Very friendly staff. :)

I went there at 8:30 am expecting fresh out of oven croissants and guess what. They were cold! I got almond croissant and blueberry one. It was my first visit and was very disappointing. Each was like $6-7 bucks...like Bay area price but not tasty. The two girls working there were not very friendly or welcoming either. They didn't even say hi. I don't recommend this place.

I was recommended to go and visit this place. I knew they closed at 3. We were from out of state and drove all the way to the one in Bybee's. We got there at 2:30 thinking that we made it but didn't get our espresso drinks because she had turned off all the espresso machines (but at 2:30????). We still had 30 minutes but I could tell she was ready to zip out of there. So when they say they close at 3:00, it really means like 2:00 at the latest.

Let me start by saying that they have AMAZING pastries... the food isn't the issue here. The customer service here is just horrible which is the only reason I'm giving 2 stars. I'm typically not one to complain about the level of service and I always tip well but every time I have gone to this location, the vibe of the staff is very off putting, like they are too cool because they sell oat milk lattes and seasonal pastries. They are always extremely unfriendly and it sucks because their croissants are amazing! I really think the manager of this location should focus on some customer service training.

Good pastries and good coffee but it's WEIRD that you start to order and they tell you, go down the line to order coffee. I'm the only person in line and I have to walk over to the other side of the counter to order coffee, then go back to the pastry person. I mean I don't get it. And it's not friendly. Most people (I think) would assume, let's get the coffee order started while I pick out my pastry. But no, there's one person just standing there at the pastries, unable to take your coffee order. And the barista has to start your coffee order, leave the ticket open while you go back and choose a pastry (under the staring eyes of the pastry person), then you go back over to the register to say which pastry you chose. It makes no sense. I didn't even get a pastry because it was just weird and unfriendly. What do they do when there's an actual line? There are enough other coffee shops on this block that I'll just go somewhere more sensible next time.

Almond croissant was just ok. The mixed fruit crostata was really tasty and the cruffin was bomb too. I got two quiches In the fridge that we will heat up tomorrow for breakfast. That will be the true test! I would for sure come back for the cruffin. Nom!!!

We discovered their other (original) location and often got pastries and coffee to go there. But the last two times we have come to their new location and love the indoor seating and coziness. We went mid morning this past Tuesday and were disappointed that they had no ice for our lattes. My husband ended up paying for a cup of ice across the street and brought it back in for our drinks to be made with. The two employees were friendly and helpful. But as we were sitting down enjoying all the goodness, I saw a homeless woman walk in and use the restroom. She came out and kind of browsed the selection. The young girl employee asked her if she'd like something. The woman explained she had no money, and the girl said don't worry about it, I will take care of you. She made her a hot coffee (of her choice) and gave her a pastry. It was beautiful that she treated her just like anyone else- no judgement, no harsh words. She made her feel welcome. It doesn't take much to be kind and she went out of her way to help someone and just be nice. We will always come back to this store for this reason. Thanks Twisted Croissant... now let's go buy you guys an ice machine!

The rasberry-rose cruffin is the best pastry I have ever had in my life. I am not prone to exaggeration. It is amazing. The croissant dough is crispy and flaky. The filling just adds to the effect. It is nothing like you have ever had.
