Maybe this place is still working out the kinks...maybe it's just filling a hole, since there aren't any restaurants in Riverfront near Current Stadium (other than Show Pony inside Origins), or maybe it's just not that great. I'm not too sure yet. I've only visited once so, I'll have to try it a few more times to get a real feel. I wouldn't recommend going after a Current game because when I walked past
it was insanely packed- and not in a good way, in a "I'm not going to get my food or drink in under an hour" type of way.
So, I went on a night I thought would be an off night however, there was Volleyball league going on therefore, it was still quite crowded. Anyways, onto the food that I did try which was a salad. The menu itself isn't that adventurous and the day I was there they were out of the two flavors of wings that peaked my interest (which now seem to be off the menu) so, it pretty much contains a few appetizers, some sandwiches, burgers and chicken tenders. I was feeling healthy so I went with the one salad on the menu which was a classic wedge, one of my favorites.
But, this wedge had a few problems. One being that the wedge itself was extremely unwieldy to cut with flimsy compostable utensils. Another was that it was missing some components including the blue cheese, which in my opinion makes a wedge a true "wedge". Also, the kimchi vinaigrette sounded so interesting and unique however, I didn't really taste any of the fermented funkiness that makes kimchi so alluring, I wouldn't have been able to pinpoint this dressing from something like a sundried tomato vinaigrette. The biggie was that I up charged the salad by adding a protein on top which was supposed to be fried chicken, as you can tell by the picture it most definitely was a grilled chicken thigh. Though it was juicy and cooked well it wasn't what I ordered and since I already had to ask for the blue cheese I didn't feel like throwing a fit over some chicken. I'm giving Two Birds One Stone the benefit of the doubt and saying 3 stars over 2 stars because, maybe it was just opening week jitters or growing pains of a new restaurant. Hopefully service is running smoother now and the kitchen knows the menu a little better than the night I visited.
