The Best Restaurants Near New Orleans’s Superdome | Eater New Orleans

"This welcoming juice and breakfast bar is swell, with smoothies, breakfast sandwiches, and vegetarian crepes. More than the same old, Two Chicks offers a crab cake Benedict, chia pudding, creative omelets, and after 11 a.m., lunch options like a chicken club and a grown-up grilled cheese with pickled beets on jalapeno toast. Like the original next to the Convention Center, you can also order breakfast cocktails with your meal." - Beth D’Addono

It’s a sunny, spacious spot serving up a simple but high-quality menu of sweet and savory crepes, omelets, egg Benedict dishes, pancakes and parfaits, healthy juices, and bloody Marys. This is a two part review based on my three visits within a year. The food is flavorful, good portion sizes. Depending on the time of the year it gets pretty packed with long waits, but it’s worth the wait. Service is good and attentive

Stopped in here for breakfast on late Sunday afternoon. It was busy but they were moving fast so our wait time was only 20 minutes for a table for 2. We ordered shrimp & grits, pancakes, eggs, bacon, and mimosas. They offer mimosas with fresh or bottled OJ. I got fresh & it was great! Shrimp and grits were soooo good. Definitely would recommend it. Pancakes were 2/5. They don’t provide whipped butter or real maple syrup for them which is my personal preference. Pancakes were also a bit dry.

The ham egg Benedict was really good. The Hollandaise sauce was far above average. However, the potatoes sucked big barely cooked potato hunks. Who wants that? The potato bowl wasn't great either because again the potatoes were not cooked enough. The potato bowl was much better when you dug out all the big potatoes. It actually had some flavor then. My little food critics told me the French toast and the pancakes were much better at the restaurant next door we ate out the day before.

Add this restaurant to your itinerary if you’re visiting New Orleans. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the atmosphere was just what you would expect in the Big Easy! They have about a 15 to 20 minute wait but it’s worth every second. The food was very affordable and the mimosas were delicious. My only piece of advice is that you don’t need a full order of French toast unless you’re sharing it. A half order with another entree is enough. I hope this review helps. 😊

First, I love the fact that this cafe chose to build on the "reuse" notion. You can see that the bench was made from old pallets. The chairs and tables from mismatches because they were all reclaimed from a variety of places. Now, on to the food. I had the Hatchery = "Egg, Spinach, Tomato, Mushrooms, and Goat Cheese on a Croissant." It was delicious. I had to eat it with a knife and fork but at least I did end up wearing any of it. Bob had the Belt Breakfast = "Bacon, Fried Egg, Kale, Tomato, & Mayo on Corn Dusted Jalapeno Toast." I also had the Refuel = "Cucumber, Carrot, Apple, Ginger, & Lime" which was freshly made and delicious. I will have to try and replicate it at home!

Very friendly environment. Our server Chelsea was very nice and attentive. The seafood omelet and the veggie omelet were so good 👍 The fresh juice was a very good addition to the breakfast 😋

This place is a tucked away gem in Nola. The interior is very cute, and the atmosphere is cozy and quiet. I got the Papa’s French Toast, and it was DELICIOUS. My orange mint tea was also very refreshing. It is not a “sweet” tea per-say, but the flavor was wonderful. I got a banana strawberry smoothie when I left, and it was also good! Overall, I’d absolutely come back. Give it a chance if you’re reading this!

Google
1st timer… Fantastic food Fantastic staff Will definitely come back and recommend to others! My husband had the French toast with fresh strawberries and bananas on top. I had the breakfast bowl -base was grits, scrambled eggs on top with sautéed veggies (spinach, onions, peppers and mushrooms) BEST GRITS!!!

Yelp
Great service and wonderful food! Perfect ingredients to satisfy the taste buds. Love the coffee! Had the BBQ shrimp and grits. Oh my! How delightful. One of the best meals I had in a long time. Good spice and flavor! Wanted to come here every day! Andouille was excellent!

Yelp
Overall: This is a small diner style restaurant focused mainly on breakfast foods, though they serve lunch as well. They were a little chaotic getting everyone seated and managing the line, but once seated the food was really good. I'd definitely go back for the poboy. Food: 4 Drinks: 3 Service: 3 Value: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Food: Overall, the food was pretty good here. We ordered the breakfast poboy, papas French toast, and the farmhouse omelette. The poboy was awesome and a great take on a breakfast sandwich. The andouille was flavorful and the bread was nice and soft. The omelette was moist and hearty. We heard lots of good things about the French toast, but I was a little bit disappointed. It wasn't anything special. Drinks: We each got a coffee and some fresh juice. The coffee was pretty mediocre, though the juice was clearly fresh and tasty. Service: We were told it would be about a 10 minute wait when we arrived but it took much longer. Once seated, all of the staff were friendly, though they seemed to go back and forth between being attentive and distracted by things elsewhere. They were working hard, but seemed like they had a lot to juggle. Value: We paid close to $60 all in for our three entrees and drinks. It wasn't the cheapest, but each dish was large and we got a lot of food. Some of the drinks on the menu were quite pricey, though we didn't order those. Atmosphere: The place was lively and brightly lit. It was enjoyable and the tables were spaced out so nobody was too close to other tables.

Yelp
Although a pretty simple and straightforward menu, each dish my family and I got were delicious. I opted for the hatchery sandwich with sausage and it was a perfect breakfast sandwich and well-balanced with the vegetables and creamy cheese. We also got the traditional Benedict and the hollandaise sauce was well-seasoned and paired well with the dish. For drinks we got the orange juice and strawberry banana smoothie which were both undeniably fresh, but I will say the smoothie was on the thicker side. Service was very kind, attentive, and quick and the space felt super cozy and welcoming which I loved. Overall, I'd definitely recommend if in the CBD or French Quarter area!

Yelp
HUGE FOOD PORTIONS.... And I say HUGE. I mean it was a lot. I couldn't even finish. Secondly get there early cause it's a small establishment and it was a long line waiting when we left but we got there around the time it opened and it was almost full. The waitress were all nice and accommodating. Great service It's a small establishment with a home town feel. We actually ran into on accident on our way to canal street.

Yelp
B was awesome, we have a family of 9, and we were seated quickly, she was patient with the kids orders, everything came out hot and just right. Highly recommended, portions generous and great flavors. Thank you B!

Yelp
Amazing breakfast/ brunch spot. The staff is extremely friendly and very accommodating. The food was made so quickly! We ordered fresh orange juice, coffee and a make your own omelette with jam, bacon and cheese and it was unreal. Big portions, which is always a great sign. I recommend getting the side of roasted potatoes, so good!!! In our four day visit to NOLA we ate here twice because it was that great!

Yelp
Papas French Toast ... hands down, the best French toast I've had and that's all I ever eat for brunch. My search for French Toast better than Tower Cafe in Sacramento, California may have come to an end. I was worried that it would be heavy on the rum aftertaste, but Nayomi assured me it wouldn't. So glad she convinced me to order these rather than the pancakes. 4 large wedges topped with bananas and strawberries. Light dust of powdered sugar and once you cut and dip into the syrup, you know you've found "The One." I really enjoy the encrusted cornflakes for an added textural component. Not overly sweet. Pillowy soft. Pressed juice - Iron Chick Beet, ginger, orange, carrots, and apple. Super refreshing. I like the little bits of orange pulp that sneaks in. Cannot recommend this place enough. The atmosphere was super chill. Excellent choice of music ... heard a lot of Pearl Jam and Oasis.

Yelp
I don't do a lot of reviews, but I just had a lovely solo brunch here. The food was excellent - I did the Cafe Breakfast and added 1/2 French Toast for the sweet/savory thing that brunch is all about for me. GET THE FRENCH TOAST, but even the scrambled eggs were delicious. To top it off, the service was so warm and friendly. Highly recommended!

Yelp
For all doggo owners, this is the place to have breakfast/lunch,since pups are allowed inside! Very handy for us since we always travel with our furbaby. Super friendly staff,we were even approached by the owner to come say hi and take a picture of our pup as well as give us tips on where else to stop with our dog. He also got a water bowl and some champion breakfast (turkey) ahead of us,devouring it all in seconds. Food is excellent-just what the doctor ordered :) loved the background music as it's soothing the apetite and not rushing to finish your meal. Super cozy experience overall, and we would highly recommend this to anyone in the area. Much love!

Yelp
The beet grilled cheese was soooo good! And the service was absolutely wonderful! I'm so glad we found this gem and will definitely go back when we are in New Orleans again.

Yelp
First time guest at Two Chicks Café. Service was excellent. French toast was superb. Omelette was average, and chicken Panini was below average. The chicken was dry and hard to chew.

Yelp
Great comfortable place with friendly hard working staff. Menu has traditional and creative options. We had a group of five that ordered five different meals. Everyone was very happy with their choices.

Yelp
**Vegetarian Review** Veggie Benedict: C I was excited to try their veggie Benedict because most places almost never have Benedict sans ham so I find myself constantly modifying it. While I liked the Cajun hollandaise, I didn't like the veggies with it. It came with a mixture of onions (lots of it), bell pepper, spinach, and fresh tomatoes over a croissant. I've never had a Benedict over a croissant as I prefer a heartier bread like toasted sourdough or an English muffin since the veggies made the croissant mushy. The side choices are potatoes, fruit or grits. While I don't get grits, I was really hoping I'd get yummy crispy potatoes. They were a mush mess that tasted like they boiled it with herbs and over salted it. If I were to get it again, I'd ask for a different bread, hold the veggies but keep the spinach, and choose a fruit side. Green Blast Juice: A A fresh blend of kale, spinach, carrot, lime, ginger, apple. It's refreshing, still semi sweet, with all the healthy benefits of veggies. Staff/Environment: A Server was friendly, staff were friendly and made sure our water glasses were filled, and it was a cozy local spot that felt like it was in a small town rather than in the middle of downtown.

Yelp
Two Chicks Café is the place to eat breakfast in the area. It is small and gets packed but they keep the operation efficiently moving. The French Toast is delicious and you can even get it as a side instead of regular toast which is awesome. The pancakes are plentiful and are cooked to perfection. The omelettes are fluffy and will leave you stuffed. They also have fresh squeezed juices along with cocktails. This place is highly recommended but come early or expect to wait since it is somewhat small inside.

Yelp
Superb, delicious breakfast/brunch spot! Customer service is excellent, overly attentive (especially with making sure my cup of hot coffee was filled up) and so pleasantly welcoming. My Cafe Breakfast was yummy - crispy bacon, over medium easy cooked ideally, soft and well-toasted bread, and fresh, sweet fruit. I also got a chance to try my friend's side of sausage and potatoes. OMGG so tasty!! I didn't try my friend's crepe dish, but she said she enjoyed it. Keep in mind, there may be a bit of a wait to get a table, especially on weekends. We waited about 20 minutes so it wasn't too bad, just wish there was a shaded umbrella or storefront awning outside this establishment, because it was not comfortable standing in the sun waiting lol. Recommended spot for brunch in NOLA!

Yelp
Delicious!! Came for breakfast as it was around the corner from our hotel. It was a short wait before we were seated as a party of two. Our waitress was very kind and we didn't feel rushed to order. The restaurant is cute and has a good amount of seats. I ordered the veggies grits bowl and added seafood and a poached egg to it.. delightful and sooo good. The fresh made juices are very refreshing. A must try!

Yelp
My husband and I recently had breakfast at Two Sisters, and it was a delightful experience. We started with Hurricanes to drink, which were delicious and perfectly mixed. For my meal, I had a pancake, bacon, and scrambled eggs with cheese. The pancake was fluffy and just the right amount of sweet, the bacon was crispy, and the scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly and generously topped with cheese. My husband ordered the Eggs Benedict with a side of grits and bacon. The Crab Cake Benedict was well-prepared with a creamy hollandaise sauce, and the grits were smooth and flavorful. The service was friendly and efficient, and the cozy atmosphere made for a pleasant dining experience. Overall, Two Sisters provided a satisfying breakfast, and we will definitely be back to try more of their menu.

Yelp
We came here for late breakfast at around 11:00 am and there was a little line outside about 10 - 12 people, we asked the hostess how long it would take and she said 10 min., we then put our name on the list and waited. About 25 - 30 min later we still were not called in while we noticed people who came later than us were already sited. We asked why this was the case, but got no explanation. It appeared the host forgot to put our name in the list. We ended up leaving.

Brandon S.

Yelp
My wife ordered the Cafe Breakfast. I ordered Shrimp and Grits. Food was SO good! Service was excellent from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. Server was very friendly! I definitely recommend Two Chicks Cafe. I will definitely be back for another order of Shrimp and Grits.

Diego M.

Yelp
absolute 10/10. dishes are amazing with local mixtures for breakfast like a crab omelette. Service is pretty good, everyone is so smiley and greet. the ambience is pretty cool, listening to marc Demarco while breakfast is neat, also the walls and colors are so life ful.

Yelp
This place is soooo good! I got the Thai shrimp po boy with potatoes. The bread was nice and soft and the shrimp was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The potatoes were really good too. Will definitely be coming back to get this again

Yelp
Great breakfast. Good coffee. Everything is fresh. Service is friendly without being overdone.

Yelp
Breakfast on point! Food: I had the grits bowl, added ham and bacon. Over easy eggs, and many this thing was amazing. Everything cooked perfect, and the bowl is huge!! So much for going light on breakfast lol delicious! Atmosphere: typical cute little breakfast spot, not many seats but cozy and decorated inside. Service: these little girls were running their butts off, food was crazy fast and I have nothing but good things to say. Basically- this is an amazing breakfast spot :)

Yelp
We tried to come to this place a few times but the line was around the block. Finally we stopped by on a slower weekday and were able to get right in. The house made juices were a great touch and tasty and much needed after a week in NOLA. Our friend got the French toast and it looked amazing! We got the build your own omelette and breakfast po boy and both were good. Huge portions and good service!

Kym J.

Yelp
For starters, the location is pretty nice & it's decorated cute. However the layout upon entry is kind of weird. When I went it was about an hour before they were about to close. However, I got seated fairly quickly (~10 minutes). I ordered the farmhouse omelet, w/ a side of grits and I subbed the toast for french toast. I also got a blue chick smoothie. I noticed the eggs of my omelet were very fluffy & not dried out (I kinda prefer my eggs on the drier side, but it wasn't a big deal). Initially, the taste threw me off, not sure if it's because of the cheese or what but I wasn't a fan, until halfway done). The turkey was diced and had good amounts throughout the omelet which I really enjoyed b/c you get a piece of meat in nearly each bite. The grits were a no for me. They were cold & had a weird taste honestly. They were no doubt very creamy, but didn't have a good taste so I wouldn't recommend them (get the potatoes)! The french toast was good. Initially I wasn't a fan but by the time I finished one slice I found myself liking them. It has a nice crunch, by being coated with some type of cereal (frosted flakes, maybe?) The blue chick smoothie was good taste like something you can make at home though. Overall, it was an okay experience & I give it a 7/10. Maybe it was due to how late I went, but it just wasn't that great. I might consider revisiting in the future.

Deborah J.

Yelp
Cute little restaurant. We were immediately seated in a cozy corner. I ordered the American Breakfast and my husband and I omelette. The bacon was very good. The potatoes were more for dinner than breakfast. Overall the food was okay but could have used a little more seasoning. We didn't order the French Toast but it looked delicious! Prices are pretty reasonable.

Yelp
Highly recommend.Went to the Gravier St location. Always a great sign when there is a line out the door. They are so efficient and got everyone seated within 15 minutes. Great, fast and friendly service. Food is so fresh. Freshly squeezed orange juice. Great iced coffee. Grits are flavorful. Pancakes are so light and fluffy. Nice cafe vibe.
google avatar

Yelp
The absolute best and we are going again tomorrow. I had the grilled Gruyère cheese with pickled beets (don't shake you heads it works) and a fresh rip tomato slice. It was on a special bread. I also added bacon to it. It Came with a choice of side. I got the fruit. It was killer. My husband got the grits bowl and our criemd got the potato bowl. All were great. The service was stellar. Everyone was working hard there. Don't pass it up
google avatar

Mackenzie C.

Yelp
This feels like going back home, everyone here works together so the service is fast yet friendly. Ordered the bbq shrimp and grits and they were to die for. Also for a fresh pressed juice. Can't remember the name but it was so refreshing I would go back just for the juice.
google avatar

Alicia H.

Yelp
We are traveling with my corgi and they really do mean pet friendly! He was greeted at the door and had his water and a snack when we got our drinks. Add in the orange mint sweet tea was delicious and just the thing for a humid morning and the grits were excellent!
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Cool little cafe not too far from the quarter with great food and service! Also pretty generous pours on the mimosas. You're gonna have to get here early or expect to wait in line but it's worth it. I ordered the seafood omelette and I've always failed at taking pictures before I dig in but that's how good this looked! It comes with a side of potatoes and your choice of toast. I salivated as the other plates came out and I can tell you that everything on this menu looks dope.

Kevin K.

Yelp
Had breakfast here today. The French toast was outstanding!!! Service is friendly, prompt and the place was spotless. It is a place I need to put on my list like Felix's for when I visit NOLA. A place well worth visiting.
google avatar

Amber-Marie S.

Yelp
It was absolutely amazing. Can't wait to go back. The service was great. All the waitresses were so kind. It was a little busy in there but a very homely atmosphere. The food was so good. I have no complaints. I'd go back 1 million times.
google avatar

Tanaka C.

Yelp
Back again specifically for the BBQ shrimp & grits which have such an amazing flavor, you just must try. I love these so much you can keep the shrimp and just give me extra rue with the grits. DELISH!!! There is a wait here and today we waited about 20-25 mins for our party of 3 which is not bad at all for the quality food you get. The service is great and once you order, you won't be waiting long at all. The dishes come flying out the kitchen, HOT and full of flavor. We're leaving today but next time we're back in NOLA, this WILL be on the list. Thank you
google avatar

Alannah K.

Yelp
Hostess was really nice and communicative, only waited a few minutes to be seated even though it was popping. Really cute place with a nice feel to it. Eggs benedict was SO GOOD. Their cajun hollandaise sauce is to die for and I wish all my benedict's could be served on a croissant... brilliant! Wish I could come here every morning.
google avatar

Laurie S.

Yelp
So delicious and very friendly and welcoming staff. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and the pancakes were A plus!

Gretchen D.

Yelp
First time eating there and won't be my last. It's a boho vibe. The hostess is also the owner so very attentive to the customers waiting and efficient with getting them seated. The waiting staff was excellent. Was offered to go coffee three times by various waitresses and our waitress actually just brought us two coffees to go. The food was hot and delicious. We had the breakfast po boy and the creamy grits were delicious.

Yelp
Great CBD spot! Construction is bad but use the garage next door! Inexpensive parking. The food was amazing! Generous portions and all super fresh! My new fav!
google avatar

Dustine D.

Yelp
Always awesome!!!!!!! Always come here when we're town!!! Never a long wait maybe on busy weekends but the line moves quick! Chelsea M is always good to us as the rest of the staff.
google avatar

SR T.

Yelp
So the reviews brought us here....but I was personally underwhelmed. I started with the Mighty Leaf Smoothie which contained excellent greens but minimal flavor. It was coconut water and ice based. I asked to replace it with the Green Blast juice which my husband was loving. They refused my request but instead remade it with sweetener and more bananas. It was still lack luster. I tried the Under the Sea omelette (crab, shrimp, Brie, peppers and onions). It was a lovely fluffy omelette but the eggs were under salted and I should know to avoid shrimp in eggs. Too fishy. I chose the potatoes instead of the grits. They were roasted nicely but again under seasoned. My husband liked his shrimp and grits. Ambience was unique as described. If I go back I will try one of the Benedicts which was my first thought.

Yelp
Two Chicks is a fun, eclectic breakfast restaurant in the CBD. We stopped by around 10am on a weekday and the place was packed - fortunately we were able to get a table for two without a wait. The menu has something for everyone - from NOLA themed Benedict's to fruit and veg juices. - The Traditional Benedict was super flavorful and filling with a unique Cajun Hollandaise sauce. - The Kickin' Chicken omelet was huge, and definitely packed a lot of flavors into one omelette. I'll probably opt for a Benedict or other menu next time. - The Green Blast juice also tasted fresh and delicious. Overall it's a solid breakfast option I would recommend to someone staying in the area.
google avatar

Robert Y.

Yelp
Two chicks is a cool colorful spot to get juice and a meal! Right around the corner from the NOPSI Hotel (and others) it's perfectly located to be an less than 5 min walk from the hotel. They serve great brunch! We got in and were hungry and decided to give them a try and were not disappointed! They have some of the best bread we've ever tasted! So fresh and how ciabatta should be! We also tried a fresh juice which they separated for us nicely to share and oh wee was it tasty! staff was warm and welcoming and it feels very homey. Low pressure sort of place that gives you what you want at a great price! They easily accommodated some of our food requests with ease, which is great if you have some dietary restrictions! Waitresses were great and went above and beyond for us in our visit! Really like this place! Check them out if you're nearby and get an authentic feel and meal!

J Marie B.

Yelp
We had the build your own omelette, with smoked turkey, grits and toast!!! It was amazing!! The service was amazing!! The restaurant is clean and comfortable!!! I will be back next time!!

ANA H.

Yelp
Food was awesome ! First time here. It was a great place to visit in NOLA. We had the açaí bowl, crepes, pancakes. All our food was good.
google avatar

Yelp
No wait on a Friday morning but they were pretty busy. Menu has your standard American breakfast classics such as benedicts and omelets. We had the chicken and mushroom omelet that came with toast and steamed seasoned potatoes. Good size omelet and the potatoes were tasty as well. Our second entree was the French Toast with fruits and powdered sugar that also came with toast. Really good and sweet. Both entrees were relatively large and came pretty quickly after we put our order in, which was good since we were hungry. Not too large of a restaurant but staff were on point and super friendly to us.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is amazing! Wish I had gone my first day! The service was fast and friendly. The whole place is just adorable too! We loved our food, so good
google avatar

Demishia O.

Yelp
It was a Sunday morning busy, people waiting outside; however, the staff quickly try to seat you or take your order. I decided instead of staying to place my order to go. The order took about 15 mins to come. The staff were very nice. I see that you can bring dogs. It's not a big establishment. I would recommend only bringing your dog if it's small. I got pancakes. It wasn't the best pancakes but definitely filling. The waitress sing happy birthday so nicely to a customer. Thought it was very sweet.

Yelp
This is the very first place we ate upon arriving in New Orleans for the first time. A small eatery with a friendly staff within walking distance from our hotel. The menu catered to the breakfast/brunch crowd but we opted for breakfast. The menu was straightforward, offering such staples as eggs, bacon, grits, pancakes and French toast. I ordered an omelette with shrimp, onion, cheese and spinach. It also came with rye toast. The food came out fast and the portions were healthy. My son had French toast and it was five slices.....Just too much to eat in one sitting........Needless to say, this was the breafast spot we ordered from daily for our stay.......Well except for Tuesdays because they're closed on Tuesdays........Thank God for doordash and Two Chicks Café.

Yelp
Amazing restaurant!!! Super clean and everyone who helped us was so friendly. It was our favorite breakfast while in New Orleans. You can definitely tell they use fresh and high quality ingredients. I would definitely return if I was local !
