My coworkers and I have waited a couple of weeks to come here and finally made it out yesterday. Got there at opening time and there was a line waiting at the door. Took us about 30min to get our food from waiting to ordering to waiting. The line will probably die down once the initial hype subsides...???
But, to me, it was worth the wait! I do love corndogs and it's been a long time since I've had a really great one. Even the one I got at the WashCo fair last year left me disappointed. Two Hands delivered something special.
Ok, so let's get critical. The Classic Dog was by far the best corndog I've had. A beautiful combination of delightful crispy and soft texture, tangy with the mustard, sweet with the sugar, and rounded out with classic ketchup. Simplicity at its finest. It will be a regular choice for me when I return.
The Potato Dog: crispy potatoes and a sprinkle of spicy Cheetos and drizzle of sauce. I chose mozzarella cheese as my filling instead of a beef frank on this one. Overall pretty good, but I think next time I'd have them roll in some sugar and I'd probably get the beef frank or spicy beef frank. Their mozzarella seems lower quality and lacks flavor in and of itself. I'd pay a little more for a better quality cheese because there are few things I love more on this earth than fried mozzarella. Unfortunately, theirs is not the best, tho is still fine to try.
The Two Hands Dog: I got this with the beef frank. I think I'd do the spicy frank next time as well. This was good , but a little flatter in flavor than I expected.
While I didn't try it, my coworker got the American Classic Dog, which was a double dipped/double fried classic corn bread battered dog. He said it was divine, so I will try it next time.
Bottom line, if you like corndogs, don't not go check them out!
