Two Hands Review - Little Italy - New York - The Infatuation

"Let’s start here: Two Hands is one of those coffee shops that everyone posts Instagrams from. If you pay attention to such things, this is very old news to you, as this laid back cafe was one of the early beneficiaries of the photogenic food movement on social media. Pretty pictures of avocado toast turned out to be a pretty successful way to bring people to your food establishment, and by people we mean young people. Come to Two Hands on a bank holiday, and the place basically looks like the crowded lunchroom of an affluent high school. In Melbourne. For models. But Celine bags and smartphones aside, there is actually a much bigger reason that Two Hands has become so successful, and it all boils down to one thing - Australians. The place is run by and filled with Aussies, and that’s a great thing. Why? Think about it this way. Have you ever met a mean Australian? Seriously. Find me one Aussie that isn’t the friendliest f*cking person in the room, and I’ll buy you a domesticated miniature koala. Because guess what? Neither of those things exist. That’s why Two Hands has basically become the Infatuation’s satellite office. Since moving our HQ down to the neighborhood, it’s become our go-to spot for meetings, breakfasts, lunches, and afternoon coffee runs, mostly because the people here are so friendly. The food is solid and the coffee drinks are excellent, and that matters, too. But we keep coming back because it’s basically the opposite of Dimes - a place where you can walk in off the street and be treated well while you eat your acai bowl, regardless of who you are. Even if you’re only there to take a picture of it. Food Rundown Acai Bowl It’s pretty, and that’s why you’re going to order it. The granola on top is even gluten free, just in case you have a gluten allergy, which statistically, you probably don’t. But still. Avo Toast When you order avocado toast at Two Hands, you must know two things. First, DO NOT say the “cado” part. Aussies shorten all words in to much better words like “brekkie” and “sambo,” and you best follow suit. Second, order it with the scrambled eggs on top. Maybe even say, “with scrambo.” Actually, no, don’t say that. Ricotta Toast There’s bread under there. Promise. Cranberry pecan bread from Balthazar to be exact. Good for you for eating bread. Bacon & Egg Sambo A good egg sandwich with bacon on brioche. Get it with some avo on it. Corn Fritters One of the bigger portions of food at Two Hands, so head in this direction if you’re super hungry or just really passionate about food stacked vertically. The fritters are excellent, held together with avo as mortar and topped with a poached egg. Can’t go wrong. Little Italy Sandwich An excellent, albeit somewhat small, Italian-style sandwich with mozzarella, prosciutto, and tomato on a baguette. We get this for lunch often, and supplement with a side of banana bread. Banana Bread A “signature” item at Two Hands, this banana bread is gluten free (for that allergy you probably don’t have) and best when topped with other stuff, like ricotta and honey." - Chris Stang

Avoid this place. We are not locals. Booked on our EatClub app. to go to 309 Victoria Street. First time. We arrived, at 309. An overly enthusiastic manager was on footpath outside. We asked him for 309 the Raman place. He said 'yes these two are all the same entrances. Come in!!' We walked in. Bought drinks and food, but the menu was limited and not what we had expected. We then realised we had been ushered into another venue next door. We told the manager to cancel the food. He took some time to attend to us. Avoiding what he realised was our being misled by his advice. He became very difficult and told us he had not suggested it was the same place. He refused any financial refund. The food was not eaten. We were prepared to be fair and leave half of the full payment of $109.18c. This is dishonest and misleading. The young barman was friendly, cautious and probably needs to move on. He commented with refreshing honesty, 'I don't know why he always does this.' implying it was a regular way of enticing the unsuspecting by the grinning manager on the footpath. We certainly wish this venue next door and the manager all the difficult challenges life brings people like him. The place is dark and unclean. Tables sticky and unwiped for many a day. Please try 309 or go elsewhere. You know we were at your venue. It's 311a. Check your receipts for 5.30pm Dec28th. Have bank receipt with your details. Very poor trying to deflect a really bad customer experience. Ask your manager on duty Sunday. Review stands.

We held a birthday party at Two Hands recently, and were very very happy! The service was excellent as well as the food, and we were very satisfied with the price. I especially want to thank Amy who was our point of contact leading up to the event, she was available to answer any queries for us and made the whole process much easier. I would highly recommend Two Hands!

Google
Definitely recommend! Such a great vibe and atmosphere, and a really great drink selection! Big shoutout to Amy for organising everything for my private function, she made everything feel really simple & looked after. The constant keeping in touch with updates leading into it was also very nice! Amy if you're reading this, thank you for everything, I'll be back :)

Certainly doesn't look like it's photos. Pretty average service from the world's grumpiest bartender. Toilets disgusting. May as well urinate on your own feet. ID requirements and photos/emails/phone numbers are excessive. Very clearly they are making extra $$$ by on selling your details online. Thankfully I created a fake driver's license and email etc.. Would not recommend.

Yelp
OH MYYYYYY This place is a mase The owners are mase Truly, such crazy innovation and absolute wonder how they can be transformed from a $2 Shop to what I remember in 2015 ONLY first floor 2017 Beer Garden and we moved to QLD. I visited them last week. 200 Over seating ROOFTOP, Indoor, Outdoor, Pool area, Beer Garden, Curb Side Trading. I remember the guy with the glasses from many years. New beautiful full of energy bar lady. I am now living in St Kilda but any time come to Richmond, my place is TWO HANDS and only TWO HANDS. Thanks for the Shisha Love 66. It was sooo good. xxxx

Yelp
I remember coming here shortly after it had opened and I was pretty impressed with the place, though for some reason it kept on slipping my mind. Occassionally I would go past on a tram, see it, and say to myself that I have to go back there one time, but keep on putting it off. However that time came recently when I wanted a drink after work only to discovered that the other bars along here were packed to the brim. So I went a little further down Victoria Road and found this place. As it turned out they had a pretty decent happy hour (something the other places don't have) as well as a nice beer garden out the back (though you couldn't actually take your beer there). The staff were also pretty cool, so I guess this is going to be another one of those places that I will visit more often than not (hopefully) down on Victoria Road.

I love this bar the service are friendly and are fond to have a chat with you they make delicious curry with chicken only for 10$ and that's money's worth it's not far from the city so most people can quickly drive over I don't think there's anything bad about it a great place good thing is you get a discount on beers for burgers awesome
