"For low-key beach vibes and great taste, it’s hard to beat Two Sisters Bakery in Old Town Homer. Start your day with a stroll along nearby Bishop’s Beach, then duck into Two Sisters for an espresso and a cinnamon roll. Or maybe a cherry-almond scone, or the best gingerbread cookie you’ve ever put in your mouth. While you’re at it, grab a house-baked baguette for later and stop to peruse the flyers on the community bulletin board. Or if it’s closer to lunch, order one of their famous sandwiches to go with that second cinnamon roll." - Kris Farmen

This place is perfection! We got a couple sandwiches, when we told them they were for our hike they wrapped them in plastic to keep them fresh, which was v nice of them (and they were still really good and fresh the next day!) The chocolate mousse is not to be missed! We also got a handful of pastries and they were all impeccable, the veggie savory danish was my fave, my husband loved the cheese scone the best. They do get busy and sell out of stuff so get here early if you want the best variety! Even thought the line was out the door though the staff were all super pleasant, cheerful and helpful.

We started our day in Homer with breakfast at Two Sisters Bakery. My husband's bacon egg and spinach braid was plenty of food. I had a ham and cheese pastry that seemed to have a touch of mustard that was not overwhelming, which, even as a mustard lover, I appreciated. We split a rhubarb scone that was not overly sweet because it didn't need to be. The texture and flavor were both just right. It was mid September and a bit chilly, so I has some reservations about the outdoor seating. It turned out to be very pleasant, but they had blankets out if you needed them.

Wonderful to go items from two sisters bakery! What a gem in Homer that you must visit if you’re in town. The service was excellent. The bread and pastries were delicious. The line moved quickly so don’t get intimidated by that highly recommend.

Erin Neff

Google
There was a line formed before the shop even opened, so you know that's a good sign. The sticky buns are SO good! It was still warm in the middle by the time I got it home, so I know it was fresh along with a loaf of bread that was still hot!

Google
It was definitely better before covid. The owners spent a lot of money to revamp for covid. I don’t know, did they think the pandemic would never end? They used to have the best dinner in town. Now they close at 3 PM, Wed-Sat. The sandwiches are smaller and the pastries, dessert items are way too sweet. Who wants a muffin with 5 tablespoons of sugar on top. People that should not have that much sugar. I don’t care that it’s organic or raw, it’s still sugar. The American obesity rate for women is 38.6%. Bakers like they have here is partly to blame.

Google
there's usually a long wait later in the morning, for good reason! soups and pastries are excellent, and service is great. while i do miss the indoor seating, the outdoor seating is perfect on a nice day, and because it's so close to bishop's beach, you can also make your way down there and eat at one of the available picnic tables.

Meghan Berger

Google
If I could give 10 stars I would! Truly the best pastries I’ve ever had. The rhubarb danish was pure perfection. Wonderful service, and when you have a line of 15 people waiting for a place to open, you know it’s gotta be good. The ham and cheese danish was also amazing.

Kim T.

Google
Meh, not sure what all the fuss is about. The menu was super limited, much smaller than any other bakery I’ve been to. My group and I selected a couple of the savory croissant things as well as a cinnamon bun. All were good, though I wish they had been warmed up for us, considering we waited like 20 minutes for them when they were readily available in the display case (still not sure why they couldn’t just give them to us right then). The service wasn’t particularly friendly either, kind of cold, like the pastries. That coupled with the intense out of place political signage made for an unusual experience. I’ll probably try a different bakery next time I’m in Homer.

Sheryl S.

Yelp
I went with a group and we all miraculously ordered something different, so got to try a variety of items: sticky bun, chocolate chip cookie, apple galette, raspberry scone, BLT, and cinnamon roll. All very good but my favorites are a tie between the sticky bun and apple galette! I also got a turkey sandwich to save for lunch later. And a loaf of the garlic pesto bread to have with dinner. There was a line out the door on Saturday morning but it moved quickly. I always look forward to coming here when I'm in Homer!

Sean G.

Yelp
If I said it was terrible and you shouldn't come would you actually listen to me. probably not. And you shouldn't it's a 5 start place. The secret is definitely out on this place. We should have 20 minutes early and there was already people starting to form a line. Staff was super friendly and quick. The four items we bought all tasted delicious. Absolutely absolutely in love with that lemon croissant and the rhubarb. Place was clean well kept and blown away. They're only open for a few hours each day, but well worth it!

Yelp
I've intended on visiting Two sisters bakery numerous times when visiting Homer and mistakingly didn't really believe the hype and brushed off stopping in. I learned today that was a big mistake! We stopped in on our way out of town and was sure I would be underwhelmed but the second I caught a glimpse of the sweet and savory selection of baked goods I was quite literally kicking myself for not coming in sooner. We tried several different pastries, muffins, breakfast goods and all were outstanding. Don't be like me, just go. Just go.

Katie U.

Yelp
They make good coffee, pastries and sandwiches. We go here in the summer time. They never disappoint.

Joan H.

Yelp
Stopped by here on foot as part of hiking the Beluga Slough Trail, though there is some gravel parking right by the building. Long line at 10:40 am on a weekday but line moves super fast because the ordering station is separate from the paying station. Unique pastries, soups, and $7 specialty bread loaves, everything was absolutely delicious. Per reddit this is the best bakery in alaska and they were right! 10/10 would recommend

Krystal H.

Yelp
Always a line and always worth it! Anytime we visit Homer this is a must stop!! There is no inside seats but a couple picnic tables outside. Haven't tried a thing we didn't like but getting a loaf of fresh baked bread for home and a chocolate bun as a treat is our normal.

Teri K.

Yelp
We heard about Two Sisters Bakery from Jan at the Chamber of Commerce, so we just had to stop in here for a bite. We went early, so we had to wait until they opened at 10am, and a good line formed behind us. We selected a sticky bun and a rhubarb raspberry scone. Both were simply amazing! We would've taken pictures, but we scarfed them down! You have to stop here for a sweet treat! Highly recommend this bakery!

James E.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing. Get there early and get in line, it's completely worth it. You can't go wrong with anything, everything they make is awesome

Beverly O.

Yelp
This place is great! I ordered the chocolate bread, ham and cheese croissant, choc chip cookies and the focaccia turkey and cheese sandwich. It was all good. They were out of some things at 11am when I went. So make sure you get there when they open to get the entire selection. Service was fair. The young girl at the register seemed to be more interested in chatting with the young guy in front of me than taking my order. It is a very small place. I'd go again - the food is very good!

Nancy M.

Yelp
Good but not as good as we expected based on the reviews. The donuts were dry , the turkey sandwiches were very plain. Disappointing

Food G.

Yelp
Now that Covid restrictions have been lifted, you can now visit the café. Unfortunately, there's still no indoor seating, which is a bit disappointing. However, the food is still delicious, and while the customer service is okay, it's not exceptional. Despite the renowned bakery reputation, it's best not to expect exceptional customer service.

Janine S.

Yelp
Fabulous and Delicious! Only negative is they open until 10 and we are leaving Homer at 9! But we bought several bake goods yesterday to have day 2! The jalapeño cheese roll is full of cream cheese and jalapeños. It was delicious! The lemon danish is so flaky and not to sweet. The staff were great and they were efficient to move the line that was outside the door! A must stop!!!

Sara N.

Yelp
Gluten free options are prepared carelessly and without regard for safety of gluten sensitive or celiac people. Highly disappointed. Do not recommend for anyone with any food allergies. This place doesn't care about food safety for people with allergies or celiac.

Morgan F.

Yelp
Summary: this is the best breakfast I've had in Homer. Tied with Mike's for sure. Food: excellent. They obviously use fresh ingredients and flavor. They do savory AND sweet. Im more te of a savory-type so we had a ham and cheese breakfast bake (like a ham and egg and cheese croissant but all baked together), a BLT, and a turkey sandwich. Bread is obviously baked in-house. The only complaint is that I should have asked for an extra side of dressing for the sandwiches. The fresh bread soaked up the dressing leaving the sandwich a bit dry. Nothing an Arnold Palmer can't fix. Service: this is a takeout only place with some on-site outdoor seating. Since it is right next to the park on the beach, it is the perfect place to grab a bite to/from your walk or drive to the beach. We showed up at the door at about 12:30-ish with no pre-order after the lines had cleared. We waited about 5-10 minutes for food. They use all compostable wrapping, cups, straws, etc. Ambiance: Show up any morning when they open and the line is wrapped around the building. We had three kids (8 and younger) and a dog. It was very accommodating for us to sit and eat outside with our dog. Everyone is very nice and respectable of each other's kids and furry friends.

Monika H.

Yelp
We tried the chocolate bread, apple tarte, ham and cheese bread and egg sandwich. The only item worth getting again is apple tarte. Long line to order at a counter. There really isn't service or ambiance.

Tami P.

Yelp
Amazing taste! Friendly service. The soup is a must try. The rhubarb did not disappoint.

Nema S.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about this place. There isn't a lot of things I would wait inline for but we did it twice in three days. They knew what they are doing. They do run out of stuff so get there early.

Millie E.

Yelp
The best bakery I have ever visited. I stopped baking bread because they are so good.

Asya Z.

Yelp
We heard many good things about this bakery and wanted to try it for ourselves. We arrived about 30 minutes prior to opening and were the first ones in line. A few minutes later, many others arrived as well. By the time the bakery opened, there was a nice queue lined up near the door. The baked goods here are indeed glorious! We sat outside and joyfully partook a sample of almost every baked delicacy that the bakery had to offer along with tea and coffee. Yum! We can't wait to be back!

Jennifer O.

Yelp
There was a huge line out the door at two sisters and I could see why. We tried a bunch of their baked goods and they were all very tasty. If you need some bread or treats, this is the place to stop.

Caitlin K.

Yelp
we arrived at 10am to a short line which was worth the wait. i got the sticky bun, jalapeño bun, fruit hand pie and the rhubarb danish! Sticky bun was very sweet and kinda messy to eat but super good flavor. The rhubarb danish was the standout for me. Loved the flakyness! Overall super cute friendly store and everything seems very handmade so it was a nice stop in Homer.

J L.

Yelp
Yep. Just go there. Get there when they open because there will be a line, but they are very efficient and move quickly! Jalapeño bun was like a popper in a roll, cinnamon roll was my favorite, bacon egg and cheese braid was a family favorite! They also had fresh lemonade for my little guy who doesn't care for baked goods. So yummy and simply wonderful service. Ate it all too quickly to get a picture- oops!

Nikita T.

Yelp
Absolute must try for anyone in Homer! Tried their lentil soup, veg savory danish and cinnamon roll - absolutely delicious , Had to go back to get more of each to take along ! :)

Kate D.

Yelp
Delicious sticky buns with tons of pecans. Almost better than my grandma's! We split one of those and a brownie that was also yummy. We bought three milk rolls for sandwiches later - I expect they'll be great, too. Wish I had take a photo before we devoured the sweets! BTW: still practicing covid safety, which I appreciated.

Adriana C.

Yelp
A must!!! We got there at 9:45am and there was a line about 10 people waiting for them to open at 10am. Menu is not very long about 15 items in the menu savory and sweet. We ordered the Apple galette, sticky bun and the fruit danish and they were AMAZING!!!! The sticky bun is a bit of a sugar rush so if you don't enjoy overly sweet pastries this is not for you picture it like a super sticky monkey bread. The fruit danish was very light and balanced not too sweet. The danish itself was fluffy and crispy!! The Apple galette was delicious the only thing missing was a scoop of ice cream. Keep in mind they do not heat up any pastries but if you are there first thing in the morning pastries are right out of the oven. If you are in Homer AK, these are the sisters that are worth the visit!!!!

Amy S.

Yelp
Incredibly efficient process with quality baked goods. We enjoyed the peanut butter cookies and cheddar jalapeño rolls.

Steven N.

Yelp
It has been a little over a year since I was in Homer and enjoyed the delicious chocolate bread I had at Two Sisters Bakery. I'm back now and had my first piece this morning, I've been to heaven, you have to go there if you haven't been there.

John F.

Yelp
Should you travel to far-off Homer, Alaska, just to try Two Sisters Bakery? Well, no, probably not... but then, really, yes? Maybe? I mean, it should definitely factor into your decision. This bakery is fantastic, from the pecan sticky buns and coffee to the BLT. And the BREAD! Good golly, it's good, and I speak as a connoisseur of bakeries. Plus, lovely covered porch seating out back. We stopped by (for extended periods) every day we were in Homer.

Stephen J.

Yelp
The bakery is the place. Sticky buns, vegan muffins, sandwiches, fresh breads, coffee.... The service was friendly & efficient. When you approach the shop the smell is so great that you are compelled to buy one of everything! We had sticky buns which was excellent. The sandwich we ordered was also excellent. Definitely a do again as soon as I lose the weight from our first visit.

Tracey B.

Yelp
This place is just the neatest! It is very very busy so get there early, even on weekdays! Parking can be difficult but the walk is nice so it's not an issue. Prices are reasonable and everything that I have tried is so yummy!

Whitney P.

Yelp
Ok just go here and get the sticky bun! Wow! It was like a combo of a ooey gooey pecan walnut pie mixed with a cinnamon roll. I ate it all and went back to get another. The cookies were good but the sticky bun was next level.

Phoebe C.

Yelp
I love two sisters so much. One of our favorite places in town. We love to come here and have some pastries and then sit at the beach to enjoy them. Our personal favorites are the danishes and the savories. The scones are not as flavorful as the other pastries but still are pretty yummy. I have had one of the cakes as well and it was pretty delicious. The savories are the perfect thing to grab for a light lunch. I regularly get the ham and cheese savory. The raspberry and cheese danish is my personal obsession and always try and order one. We also frequently get lunch here. The sandwiches are killer and really delicious. The soups are always pretty hit or miss. I had one soup that was so awful I couldn't eat it and I am not a picky eater by a long shot. Every soup since then has been pretty good but not amazing. They are always under seasoned. I avoid the soups now. Due to Covid they are not allowing anyone inside and the lines to order during the summer are crazy long. They do allow you to call in the morning and ask for something to be set aside which I will definitely be doing in the future.

Keith T.

Yelp
We came here because of the Amazing Yelp reviews and YA'LL WEREN'T LYING!!!! We came here earlier in the day for lunch and the line wove all through the entire restaurant. We found out why once we had our first bites. We ordered various pastries, many of them vegan for our daughter to enjoy as well as their veggie pesto savory and we sampled their soups. Everything was so outstanding that we returned for their legendary dinner the next night. We had a seasonal vegan field roast that was out of this world that we finished off with an even more incredible selection of desserts. You definitely need reservations for dinner and BOOK EARLY as this place fills up quick. It is a definite must eat when in Homer... and you may love it so much that you even become "repeat offenders" like us.

Ellen P.

Yelp
Great for a quick breakfast stop! Still closed indoor due to COVID restrictions so we ordered from the patio. We ordered: - jalapeño cheddar bun (it was SO yummy. Must get!! They had just gotten fresh batch out of the oven when it was our turn in line. Very very happy with this pastry) - rhubarb pastry (pastry is very flaky and compliments the semi sweet rhubarb. Overall husband was happy) - artichoke, spinach pastry (loved it. Must get) - pumpkin squash soup with bread (creamy, hit the spot, great choice) - lattes + americano

Stuart M.

Yelp
Just imagine what three sisters could have done. In the 5 days we have been in Alaska, this has been our best meal. We started off with the warm spinach salad. It had roasted cherry tomatoes, bacon, mozzarella, with a creamy caramelized onion bacon dressing. Really good. Then we both ordered the black cod. It was perfectly cooked, covered in garlic butter, accompanied by a squash blossom that was stuffed with lemon zest in ricotta cheese. It was over bed of zucchini, kale, potato hash, and that was over a green tomato cream sauce, that was encircled with balsamic. A decorative edible flower added just the right exclamation point. Inspired. Sadly we leave Homer tomorrow without a chance to get a second crack at this restaurant.

Madison P.

Yelp
So good! Highly recommend the jalapeño cheese bun, it was delicious and packed full of cheesy jalapeño goodness. The staff are all super sweet, too! I also saw that people were complaining about some of the art pieces & such that they have out front being "too political", but I think it was great to see a business with values standing up for what's right.

Terry W.

Yelp
After strolling Bishop Beach we stopped here for some food and wi-fi. We ordered the pesto and tomato (sort of like a calzone), and the sausage and squash soup. The pesto is different. It was OK, but not as good as I expected. The soup surprised me and was good, served in a large bowl. I'd get the pesto 2 stars, and the soup 4 stars. Normally I like pesto and don't like squash. Go figure. Just shows it doesn't hurt to try something new. They use fresh ingredients here, and apparently even grow some of their own (we chatted with on of the ladies tending the garden outside). Breads are fresh. I would definitely order the soup again.

Chris M.

Yelp
Food is great. The sticky bun is as advertised - very sticky. It'll put u in diabetic coma. Lot's of people, long lines. And they don't have decent coffee is average drip coffee, which is surprising given they are a bakery and have some wonderful baked fare. Be nice to have a real coffee with their awesome food.

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
We came like 10 minutes after they opened got the egg, bacon and cheese braid and 2 sticky buns. Wasn't impressed all the items we got were cold..

Veronica L.

Yelp
Man, maybe I ordered the wrong things here, but I wasn't as impressed as everyone else. I got some chocolate milk bread thing with cinnamon on top and it was really not great. I also got a variety of cookies which were also just ok. Not amazing

Madeline H.

Yelp
Amazing little place! They have the best baked goods around. Be prepared to wait in line, but the food is well worth the wait and the line moves fairly quickly. So many incredible sweet and savory baked goods--loved everything we tried and wish I could have tried more. They only have drip coffee, no espresso, but the quality is excellent. Will definitely be back (many times) when we return to Homer.

Erika A.

Yelp
I think this might be my favorite place in the whole world. The baked goods are so fresh. The staff is beyond friendly and the merch is also very cool( i bought the tote bag). Every time I come to Homer I make a point of making this a part of my morning routine. You can take your coffee and baked snack down the street for a beautiful walk on the beach. This place has brought me a lot of joy, thank you :)

John S.

Yelp
Walked past here on the way from the beach back to the National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center and were amazed at the friendliness of the people and the deliciousness of all of the baked goods. If I lived in Homer, I would be here all the time.

Corina P.

Yelp
Savory Danish so good we needed another! Bomb ass food here. This isn't letting me post the review because it's to short. There we go. Long enough now.

Katherine S.

Yelp
Great place for a quick breakfast/dessert. You just walk up to the counter pick out what you want, pay for it, then go find a spot to sit. They have a nice little back deck for you to sit with your dog or let your kids run around and play. It's an old house with your standard little bakery/coffee shop with local art, an antique smell, and sweet down to earth character. We had their veggie quiche, chocolate chip cookie, lemon bar, raspberry rhubarb crisp, and another breakfast item that had tomatoes, basil, spinach, and cream cheese. It reminded me of a fancy hot pocket with cream cheese instead of mozzarella. It was all VERY good. The only thing was that the quiche and hot pocket thing wasn't heated up all the way, but it was still good. Our favorite of the little desserts was the Alaskan raspberry rhubarb crisp. The chocolate chip cookie wasn't anything special, I'd save your money and calories for something else. It's quick, cheap, and delicious. Definitely worth stopping by!

Kathleen F.

Yelp
Looking for yummy baked goods- this is the spot in Homer. Fresh bread daily. Breakfast treats, cookies, etc. Just go early because they close at 3:00 and it's wildly popular so if you want a larger selection of goods get there in the morning.

Kaitlin R.

Yelp
Two Sisters Bakery is a must stop if you are in Homer for more than a day. They are yummy for breakfast and lunch, and have delectable baked goods. For my stop we had breakfast and I enjoyed a fresh onion bagel with a generous portion of cream cheese. It was baked evenly and full of flavor. My friend had the biscuits a gravy (special) and it was a generous portion. It looked like soup - dumplings. But she enjoyed it very much. She described the gravy as savory with the biscuits as savory. We shared a fresh chocolate bun that was still warm. Staff are friendly and eager to help find you the right thing to suit your needs. Coffee is bottomless. There is indoor seating and also an outdoor patio. We also took chocolate chip cookies and peanut butter cookies with us for our trip to Seldovia and they were delightful!!

Gena R.

Yelp
I loved the cinnamon roll! I was skeptical from another review but I thought it was perfect! The cherry scone was okay- kinda bland. The ham and cheese danish was great. They didn't really fill the 12 ounce coffee- was more like 10 ounces. Overall though I was satisfied and would recommend

Ben C.

Yelp
Do. Not. Miss this place if you are in Homer. Everything we got was totally amazing. We even got extra sandwiches at 10am one day which we ate at lunchtime the next day on a hike and they still tastes fresh as anything. Check the opening hours because we went back another morning and they weren't open. You'll kick yourself if you miss it.
