Ann Arbor’s Best New Restaurants and Bars, May 2025 | Eater Detroit

"After selling Songbird Café, Jenny Song and her mother Youn have launched Two Songs Bakery & Mart, combining baked goods (many gluten-free or vegan) with a selection of Korean groceries and ready-made meals. Their new space offers a more streamlined, counter-service experience with limited seating and grab-and-go options. For a comforting lunch, try the bun stuffed with tender, well-seasoned beef bulgogi, or the ramen with egg." - Mary Hayes Weier

I custom ordered a cake for a work colleague’s baby shower, which we held during the workday. I had contacted Two Songs with less than a week’s notice, and it was a busy time as it was close to Easter weekend. They were SO friendly, accommodating, and responsive. We confirmed the order with a phone call and a few quick emails, where I attached pictures of what I envisioned. When I had looked into other nearby bakeries with a similar request, the price quote was going to be between $100-200 and it was going to take longer than one week. Two Songs was much more reasonably priced and they had no problem with the timeframe. The cake turned out beautifully and was an instant hit. It was delicious and moist - chocolate cake, with chocolate fudge, a chocolate drip, Oreo crumble, and pink icing for baby girl’s arrival. Set to feed about 10-15 people and there was still plenty leftover. I will be recommending Two Songs to everyone I know, and I can’t wait to return to try their other baked goods!

Delicious variety of take away food and desserts. Love that their choices can’t be found in other bakeries or cafe’s in the area. Also a nice place to order a coffee. Today I got ramen with an egg, fabulous!

Excellent coffee and baked goods. The buns in particular are to die for (red bean, Japanese curry, pork etc.) and great pastry. Also some good-looking lunch items and breakfast sandwiches, though haven't tried them. Tons of seating and super quiet - would be a good place to work, too.

Incredible baked goods, sandwiches, and coffee! The turkey sandwich is my favorite thing and such a treat when they have them available in their cold case...a must try, along with the curry & bulgogi buns which they have all the time! Pick up a loaf of their milk bread when its available, perfect for french toast and grilled cheeses. We also really enjoy shopping their market offerings.

Really awesome new spot. Ordered bulgogi bun, cinnamon sugar donut, and 2 espresso drinks. Everything came out really quickly and the staff were very friendly and efficient. Both the coffee and baked goods were excellent. A little on the pricier side, but so worth it! The interior was lovely and thoughtfully curated. The place seems really new and maybe some art on the walls or something would make it a little cozier, but absolutely no complaints.. Food was too good, we didn’t stop to take pictures. Please stop by 😊😊😊

Absolutely love Two Songs! Their bulgogi beef bun and egg salad were both amazing! We also got several treats to share (oatmeal cream pie, choc chip sea salt cookie, and green tea muffin) - all were SO delicious. Such a cute, great spot:)

I do not know why this place is not always full! One of my favourite places in Ann Arbor. The coffee is very good and they have a great selection of home-made syroups. Pastries are delicious, baristas are nice and welcoming, and it always feels calm an cozy to be there. 100% recommend

Yelp
Stopped here to grab some breakfast items: bulgogi, hash brown, and egg breakfast sandwich, pistachio cardamom bun, and a red bean brown sugar latte. The breakfast sandwich was good but needed a little something. Maybe a little kimchi? The latte was good and I had a hard time deciding which of the unusual flavors to try. The pistachio cardamom bun was fantastic and HUGE. If you like cardamom, definitely get this. Nice to have something different with easy parking on this side of town.

Yelp
I did not expect to be blown away by the pork and kimchi dumplings at a relatively new bakery and coffee shop, but here we are. There was a sign in the for the pork dumplings, but there were none left. When I asked, the clerk thought another batch might be in the works. He checked, and indeed fresh dumplings were only seven minutes away. I bought an order of dumplings and a green tea. When the dumplings came out, I was offered soy sauce. As an aside, the soy sauce was legit soy sauce which is not always the case. However, the dumplings were so flavorful no extra sauce is needed. Each of the three dumplings were well stuffed, beautifully seasoned, and pan fried... on both sides! Crispy. Tender. Chewy. Meaty. Funky. Spicy. Lovely. And the tea? Delicious. I was advised to let it steep for four minutes which is generally an extra minute than I steep my green teas, but it was perfect. For the sweets, I am more into the buns than the laminated pastries like croissants. My bar for croissants is very high, and I recognize that. But the Asian inspired flavors are definitely a fun twist. Ultimately, it's wonderful to have another delicious place to bring a laptop with lots of natural light streaming in from the windows. More people should be here. Come and delight.

Yelp
I've been in here several times and everything is delicious. My favorites so far are the gochujang scone (can't go without) and their curry bun. All their pastries are lovely and they seem to mix it up regularly with new items available. Had a nice chai latte, too. The staff is always very kind and helpful. So pleased to have this cafe in the neighborhood!

Yelp
Two Songs is a new bakery in Ann Arbor. Nice desserts. Several options: bars, cookies, brownies, and other baked goods.
