The food was especially good. I had a burger, and when I ate it, it tasted like heaven. It was soft, but it had the right amount of salt and other stuff. I also had the ice cream. It was pretty good, not gonna lie. The service was as fast as any other diner. It's a little long but not that bad. The place felt modern. There is a little bit of wood details here and there. But you're probably not going to notice them anyway.

As LA native who haven’t been back in the city for three years, this is a perfect restaurant to visit for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You see lots of smiles and great vibe and outstanding service. Also many options for breakfast and lunch..

Google
Twohey's is a must-try in Pasadena! I highly recommend this elevated diner. The breakfast options are delicious, especially the corned beef hash and orange French toast. Plus, they serve a great latte, a definite step up from the usual diner coffee. Highly recommend! Can’t wait to try it for lunch!

Google
This feels like the best version of a fancy diner where I would be happy eating like 10 different things off the menu. I had the prime rib dip with home made chips and both the sandwich + dip and the chips were fantastic. It ended up being a nice big plate. So good. My partner had a short rib melt and loved it. His potato salad was fantastic, with some olive oil and scallions. They have a great happy hour and since we were there early, we also had some decent margarita and mojito. We'll have to come back to this place and bring our families when we can't settle on anything else. I'm super curious about the poutine.

Google
Came here with my sister in law and it’s a nice modern spot to have a meal. I order the meatloaf and it was good. I’m not a zucchini person but wish they had other options.

My family and school friends have been coming to Twohey's for years at their old location in Alhambra. The new location in South Pasadena is a great upgrade including a lot of local history captured on the photos displayed on the walls. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are terrific with generous portions. I love the curry clam chowder, Reuben, or patty melt with sweet potato fries. Service is fantastic even when they get a bit busy. Great bar with a generous happy hour and fantastic desserts. The food, service, and atmosphere make Twohey's local favorite.

Called in an order for take-out. Breakfast was just about to end at 3pm. They were kind enough to still take my order for biscuits and gravy. What's not pictured was exactly that. It was so good! This was my first time dining with them and they were so sweet! The food was exactly what I was looking for. It was great. I will be back. Thank you!

Today was my first try at twoheys with my wife, as we usually find ourselves at shakers. Originally we drove into shakers parking lot and saw that it was packed at around 930 am with the monday older folk- and decided to try twoheys as we've passed by a few times, and shakers Belgian waffle was lacking. Upon driving upto twoheys- the outside also looks dated- and the parking lot was empty. At first I was like..mmm maybe not a good sign even though the reviews advised otherwise. Upon walking up, it completely changed to a beautiful entrance and good music. We were met by a nice lady and were seated right away. Upon entering, the place looked super nice! All white and lit up- kind of gives a fallout (like the game) vibe but without the post-apocalyptic atmosphere. We ordered a coffee and the orange juice (small and a bit pricey) was hand squeezed and sweet. My wife ordered the lumberjack breakfast with oj pancakes and I ordered the korobuta pork chop. The pancakes were fluffy, buttery and delicious. The coffee was fresh, strong, and absolutely flavorful. My wife's breakfast was filling and the sausages were juicy. But what took the cake was my pork chop that was fatty, and cooked well! i asked for brown gravy and steak sauce and it just added an additional umph to an already perfect slab of meat.( another customer asked what I ordered as well and said it looked so damn good lol) The experience was just overall phenomenal. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
So excited to have returned to this restaurant today. I love that they serve breakfast til 3pm! As we were waiting for our food, a plate of onion rings walked by - well, not on their own. A man was carrying them. But you know that feeling you get when you wished they didn't take your order yet so you can order what "just walked by?" That happened. I asked the server if we could do a taste test and he said "sure." But "you gotta order them first!" In no way was he sassy: just very matter of fact. Ten minutes later he brought a sample for us to try. OMG...we're goin' back again and guess what I'll be ordering. Twohey's has been in the Pasadena for years - it's an institution! If you haven't gone, please go. Options are incredible for breakfast, lunch and dinner and all types of beverages and desserts. Reasonable prices, great food and service. Ambience kinda cool. They have a variety of seating areas. Outside, inside and diner style.

Yelp
Food is always great but the service is inconsistent! We were there twice in one week and the service was extremely different... one day we had Scott serve us and he was great.. Then we had David on a Monday and I think he forgot he was at work... Unfortunately absent! We will continue to frequent this restaurant but we will be specific about who we want to wait on us, because that will definitely determine the experience we will have! **Someone needs to train the hostess to greet with a smile. She doesn't know she is the first face of the restaurant and she sets the tone of the establishment!

Yelp
Very cool restaurant. We went here for a school fundraiser and had a short wait (it was a rather busy night!). Once seated, we were attended to immediately. Shout-out to our server for her quick and efficient service! We ordered the hot wings appertizer and they surprisingly lived up to their name. I then ordered a regular cheeseburger combo for my son, while I had the short ribs sandwich. I have to admit, the short ribs sandwich was much better than I thought it was going to be! It was super delicious. My son had the Oreo milkshake and he said it was great. I had the famous ice cream sundae and I'm glad I got the small size becaue it was rather big! My only complaint were the prices. I thought they were a wee bit expensive so this will be a treat, for sure. But I do recommend this place!

Yelp
Was recommended by my brother and sister-in-law. I trust their taste but it honestly kind of blew my expectations away. I came here with my mom this past Sat and waited maybe 10 mins when I got here around 9 AM. FIrst of all, I would say I was the most surprised by their hot coffee. I know it's only "coffee" but the coffee was actually really good and not to mention hot. Service was very good too. I didn't expect much from the service but I thought it kind of exceeded my expectations. My mom and I got the Short Rib Hash and the Country Fried Steak. I loved both of them a lot. Came with bread too and those were good as well. I think my short rib were well seasoned, loved all my potatoes and when you put some short rib, egg, and potato together how wrong can it get. I loved the country fried steak as well and hats off to their hash browns (loved breakfast hash browns) for being really crispy. It was prob standard pricing in terms of American breakfast/ a little cheaper than some that I've been to. I would highly recommend it for American Breakfast.

Yelp
Met some friends for Sunday Brunch. Had been meaning to check Twohey's off the list. Overall..Not as good as I expected it to be. It was an extremely busy day. 45 min wait turned into an hour or longer. We had a large party of 10.We sat in a separate room of the side of the bar, which was kind of nice. Waitress was nice. She kept the drinks flowing. I ordered chilaquiles. I try them everywhere. I didn't enjoy them at all. chips were soaked in the sauce instead of sauce poured on top. so there was no sauce on the dish which left everything else dry. steak slices were dry and way overcooked. Maybe I should have stuck to some simple boring breakfast item. My son ordered french toast. Nothing special to it. Looks like something he cooked himself at home. My husband got a breakfast sandwich or burger that was tasty though, so that was a win. The drinks I had were good. Had a couple of the Meridian cocktail and had a couple sips of my friend's bloody mary. I would come back for drinks and appetizers. Not sure how I feel about another meal.

Yelp
I went on a Wednesday evening and it wasn't too busy. There's a shared parking lot for the plaza as well as free street parking on fair oaks right next to the restaurant. There's indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outdoors where it was covered and very comfortable. Our server was very nice and attentive. The beef short rib plate was delicious and not too bad for the price. The meat was tender, and went well with the mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies. The prices for happy hour didn't seem too bad either, so I reckon I'll go back considering how pleasant my dinner was.

Yelp
I love supporting local businesses, but when the managers don't train new employees, and don't reimburse you for their mistakes, then that's a problem. I placed an order over the phone. When I got my order, I realized it was not what I ordered. I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager. She mentioned she was going to reimburse me for the mistake. She said the the girl who took my order was new. At the end, I didn't get my reimbursement and I couldn't eat what I got. It was disappointing. The manager the opportunity to make things right for the customer, but she failed to do so. Not sure if I will be ordering from here anymore.

Yelp
Amazing breakfast can't go wrong with a early breakfast. The waffles are soft and fluffy with strawberries and blueberries. The pancakes fluffy and eggs, bacon, hash brown very good and cook just right. Service was excellent and ambiance is just right.

Yelp
Had a last minute brunch date with my boyfriend. We were pleasantly surprised we only had to wait 20 minutes to be seated without a reservation at a busy hour. They have a pretty big waiting area with complimentary water. We were seated outside and our waiter was very attentive. I ordered The Alhambra which included; eggs, sausage and French toast. I also had an iced mocha with almond milk. My boyfriend ordered the The Lumberjack which included; eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, sourdough and old fashion pancakes. To drink he had an Arnold Palmer (made with frozen lemonade). Everything was delicious and we also enjoyed the grape and strawberry jelly provided at the table. We will definitely be coming back to try their lunch and dinner menu.

Yelp
The food this evening was healthy and delicious!! Shels was our server and she was pleasant and kind! I really loved what we ordered, a tuna melt, garbanzo and ham soup and a Greek salad with shrimp. I noticed the tipping guide was a bit off! Their servers are awesome and deserve every penny!! 20 % and more! Lovely place, been coming to Twohey's since I was in fourth grade!!!

Yelp
Short Review: Friendly neighborhood diner with great food and great service. They appreciate sports too, so if you're looking for a place to watch the game while you eat, they have generous table side service in their bar with multiple TVs. Long Review: So, in the South Pasadena area, Twohey's is an institution. They've been in the area at least 75 years. This location is relatively new in the last decade. They were at a location bordering So Pas / Alhambra, but moved into this space that had previously been vacated for years by an Italian restaurant that just didn't make it. The area is now revitalized with the addition of this restaurant to the location - which is what you want from every business don't you? A company that gives and celebrates its community? The menu is varied and good. Vegetarian and Vegan options a-plenty but good, fat bacon too!! ;) They have indoor and outdoor seating and are great for accommodating large parties for birthdays and other celebrations. They even put sparklers in your dessert if you're celebrating a special occasion. Pop in...you'll love it!

Yelp
My youngest cousins & I had dinner at Twohey's on a recent Friday night. They were understandably busy so we waited about 15-20 minutes until we got seated. No big deal, as we were looking at the menu trying to decide & strategize on the what were gonna order/share. Ha! They have a covered waiting area with heat lamps which is nice. Host table was set up outside the entrance as well. I was a regular customer at the Alhambra location spending many post-Friday night lights there for diner food and this was my first time at the South Pas location. I tell you what, I like this location so much more. No more sharing an insane parking lot with In N Out next door and the updated, modern, bright, well-lit interior of the South Pasadena location gets my nod for sure. Our party of 3 was seated in a booth in Laura's section and we just loved her so much. She was running around helping other tables as we had just gotten seated and she made sure we knew she'd be by soon. She was great with her attentiveness & care (She even noticed my cousin's Stranger Things" t-shirt) and commented that she had something to show us. It was a photo of someone dressed up for Halloween that was full-on in character from the show. Laura really made our dinner that much more memorable. Very cool. 2 of us ordered the Heckels Prime Rib Dip ($21.95) and it was delicious. No cheese for me as I'm a purist. It's described as house roasted prime rib, horseradish Jack cheese, caramelized onions, horseradish-herb aioli on a french roll with jus. I picked their homemade potato chips to pair with my french dip and it was perfect. I loved the taste of the sliced prime rib, the slight crunch of the french roll, the complimentary flavor of the aioli and the au jus for dipping. It was great and I would order it again. I loved the homemade potato chips. Nice, salty & crispy.... My other cousin ordered the Short Rib Melt ($20.95) and he said it was so good. Slow-braised beef short rib, Jack cheese, Tillamook cheddar, bacon jam, horseradish aioli on sourdough. It looked really good. For dessert, we ordered a small strawberry sundae ($9.95), a chocolate/strawberry double thick shake ($8.95) and I got an Oreo double thick milkshake. It was SO GOOD. I was originally gonna get it to-go but Laura (ever looking out for us) said if I order it to-go I'll only get half as much because when having it inside the restaurant, you get the additional metal tumbler alongside it so you'll get more and can just take the rest home. She was totally right and I will never doubt her again. Thank you Laura! Thanks for being so great to my cousins and I. I will always request to be in your section when returning to Twohey's. Free parking in the shared lot... I like the new digs, Twohey's.

Yelp
Hot Commodity? More Like Cold Service and Lukewarm Chilaquiles Shoutout to our server Aaron L--hope you had fun flirting with the "hot commodity" at the next table, because that's the only thing you served hot all morning. We drove a long way and dropped nearly $100 to be ignored, served the wrong food (cold, by the way), and witness a real-life episode of The Bachelor: Server Edition. The woman next to us came in after us, got her food before us, and got a bonus love letter from Aaron--who, spoiler alert, she tossed like yesterday's leftovers. Also, Aaron's response when I asked about the chilaquiles? "We're not a Mexican restaurant." Cool cool... but you are charging like $18 for them? Make it make sense. I'm Mexican and if they were served hot with over easy eggs like we asked , they would have been perfect. (The egg's never came in the damn chilaquiles) How can you F!!! that up !!! By the way, the "hot commodity" only left a $3 tip--guess your pick-up line didn't land, Romeo. Meanwhile, we're over here freezing, hungry, and wondering if invisible ink was part of the dress code, since that's how we were treated. Aaron's vibe shifted hard once his crush left--like Cinderella after midnight, but make it restaurant service. If you're not his type, good luck getting utensils, refills, or even basic human eye contact. In conclusion: * Service? Colder than the food. * Chilaquiles? Should've made them at home. * Vibes? Off. * Romance? Denied. * Tip? Reflective of the effort. This place might be a local fave, but I'll be cooking at home with seasoning, dignity, and significantly fewer cringe moments. Plus if I was the girl sitting next to us being called a "hot commodity " I'd be offended. (Reference pic)

Yelp
Food was mediocre. Soggy fries. Bland dessert. Our waiter was very nice and the food came out fast, though it took 10 minutes for the waiter to approach our table. Cool modern meets retro diner atmosphere
google avatar

Wilfred T.

Yelp
Maybe it's a hit or miss, depending on what you get. I got the prime rib dip, and it was pretty good. But my father got the surf and turf special. The steak wasn't very tender, and the lobster was probably overcooked and a bit rubbery. It could have been the day, but I wouldn't order the surf and turf, especially since it costs about fifty or sixty dollars.
google avatar

Nina N.

Yelp
I had high hopes for this place but felt that it fell short. I feel that the food here was nothing short of regular diner food. We had the chilaquiles, pancakes, patty melt, a burger and the Dutch apple pancake. The chilaquiles were probably my favorite. The patty melt I felt was a little dry, and the toast too, was dry. My mouth was hurting trying to get through the whole sandwich. We waited for the Dutch apple pancake. I was so excited for it but it didn't hit the spot either. The pecans were candied at the bottom and the dough was so thick. The service was so slow and at the end of our experience the waiter brought us the wrong check.

Yelp
I love the California club sandwich. The house made turkey does it for me. I also like the bacon in this sandwich. It's not too greasy and is pretty good quality. The bread is perfectly toasted. We sat at the bar. Those guys are always attentive and provide great service. Music is always on point. Cool place to hang on a Saturday afternoon.

Yelp
We chose to sit outside in the front of the restaurant. Good choice. Nice weather& our wait staff was so awesome! So patient and regularly filled our waters. We ordered the daily special -chicken pot pie. So tasty and such a good deal. Highly recommend. We also got fish tacos and a Beyond Burger to try. And yes, we shared... and got dessert too!

Yelp
I haven't gone to Twohey's since they moved to their new location; so, I decided to try the restaurant out. When I came in with my boyfriend, we were welcomed and the employees were nice. The servers gave great recommendations of their list of menus. I ordered/shared the Californian Burger with fries and the Prime rib dip with chips and onions rings. Both entrees were served with ranch on the side. The burger was delicious and the prime rib dip was phenomenal. We also ended up getting a sundae with semi-sweet chocolate that fixed our sweet cravings. The place is clean, but the restroom could use more attention. I do recommend coming back here if you are looking for some really good diner food.

Yelp
We had a party of 8 on a Sunday evening (Super Bowl). Seating was immediate and our waiter was quick to greet us. I love this new Twohey's, much much cleaner and the ambiance is brighter and inviting. They had happy hour so we ordered a couple of Moscow mules and beer. Both were made average, but it was happy hour. For a party of 8, I was impressed in how accurate our order was processed and made. All our food came at around or the same time, hot and delicious. Plates are quite large and presentation was impressive. Our group ordered Cobb salad +, prime rib sammy +, ribs +, sand dabs +, salmon dinner +, chicken pasta +, and a few appetizers, all were very tasty, hot, and enough to take home. The waiter was really good about checking on us and making sure our water glasses were always full. The overall experience was wonderful! Since going to the new place, we have been very happy with their service and food. Will definitely be back.

Thank you Aaron for great and friendly service! I was craving pancakes and bacon which both hit the spot! Highly recommend the bacon! It was cooked perfectly!

Yelp
Place is cool, clean, and has good food. I just don't like the small portions and expensive prices.

Yelp
Fantastic food at unbeatable prices! My family and I make it a tradition to stop here for brunch before heading to DTLA, and it never disappoints. The quality is consistently excellent, the flavors always hit the spot, and the experience keeps us coming back for more. Highly recommend

Yelp
First time here. Was not disappointed. Superb service. Cozy yet fresh and clean. Modern comfort food in a place that's been here for over 80 years. The Veggie Hash was so creative and delicious. Chicken and waffle excellent. Chilaquiles are very tough to do, so they get a free pass on that. Can't wait to return sometime for lunch!
google avatar

Yelp
We were in the area and I was looking for a casual restaurant that could please my entire family. So happy I stumbled across Twoheys! Modern diner that is both family friendly with a sports bar area. A large menu with something for everyone. Wonderful children's options and desserts. Friendly staff, plenty of seating (booths, tables, patio), super clean. What more can you ask for? Food: everything was what I expected in a modern diner, elevated classics. Calamari 10/10 Pork Chop 10/10 Chicken Piccata 10/10 Kids Cheeseburger 10/10 Kids Chicken Tenders 10/10 Spicy Watermelon Cocktail 10/10 Vanilla Sundae 10/10 Belgian waffle dessert with caramelized apples and ice cream 10/10

Yelp
What can I say, I've driven past this restaurant so many times and each time I've said "I should try this place" well here's the day! The service was great, server was attentive and polite. Feels like a real old school family owned diner/restaurant. I really enjoyed the layout of the place, it's comfy and makes you feel welcomed! I had the steak first, let me say, for what it's worth, the steak was good. I would have liked a little more seasoning on the steak but nothing A1 couldn't fixed. The bread was good, I remember it was freshly (or as fresh as possibly) baked and had a great moist bite. Kids French toast was nothing out of the ordinary, their maple syrup however was really good, I find it not too sweet and not too sticky.? The pasta was probably my favorite. It was not dry, had a lot of flavor and cooked to perfection I might say. The cherry on top, Oreo shake! This wasn't just your ordinary Oreo shake, this thing was phenomenal! It stayed cold, cool and didn't taste icy at all, every slurp and taste was full of flavor and had the right amount of vanilla that takes me back to the old school diner feel. Guess that's called nostalgia? Anywho, if you're in the area and are looking for a diner type food with an upgrade, I'd recommend this spot. I haven't had a chance to return but I will for sure go back for the Oreo shake!!
google avatar

Yelp
Cute spot. I never got to try it when it was in Alhambra, but this location is very nice. It was not a long wait but very busy so I liked that they had enough staff on hand. The food was okay. I felt it was a bit overpriced. My shrimp pesto was $23 and there were 6 shrimp on the plate. I was thinking I should've got what my friend had (baby back ribs) for only $5 more. To get the rack of ribs with beans, coleslaw and fries for $28 was way more worth the price compared to my plate. The 4 stars is for the service and for the delicious ice cream Sundae. It was $10, but loaded with ice cream, fudge and almonds. I couldn't finish it because the serving was so generous. I might be back, but I wouldn't go out of my way. Very friendly service though.

Yelp
First time here. Great food and good service. Spent alot of time catching up with colleagues. Staff was nice and helpful. Loved the outside ambiance! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Love the vibe of this place! It's sort of upscale diner energy, very lively and bright with lots of familiar menu items. We ordered the deviled eggs, Cesar salad with chicken, and the California burger. Everything was super tasty! All waitstaff were super attentive and friendly as well. Apparently they have a happy hour from 3-6 (I believe daily) and boozy milkshakes so I'll definitely have to come back!

Max U.

Yelp
This is the best modern diner in the city. It's a staple in our family. The food is incredible and classic with our favorite buttermilk pancakes we've ever had. We always get one for the table. And the service is always fantastic and fast.

Yelp
I am so disappointed in my dining experience here. I was so happy to finally see this new location. The inside is clean and modern. The hostess and waitress seem very inexperienced and clueless. The hostess gave everyone a different answer to the wait time. The waitress can't get the order correct and is often missing. They finally brought food out but not any utensils to eat. We also couldn't find anyone to help us while the food was getting cold. They also over charge on things we didn't get. Overall, it was a hot mess. I would never come back again. Hope they will train their staff before putting them out to represent the restaurant.

Yelp
Senior citizen reporting: hey hey hey! They have an outside patio, which is covered and enclosed with a nice wall. The food is Wow! Wow! good! My favorites are the CORNED BEEF HASH EGGS BENEDICT and ROASTED CHICKEN. The menu is filled with lots and lots of choices. I dare you to find something you wouldn't want to eat! The wait staff, the host or hostess, the bus boys were all attentive and friendly. It has become one of my favorite places to eat at... the parking lot can be very busy at times it's in a strip mall!

Yelp
Food and atmosphere was good service was good and waiters and waitress were very attentive ! Good food and drinks, don't forget to get the fresh squeezed orange juice !

Yelp
Decided to make another trip to Twoheys for a quick bite to eat. I ordered the All American Burger with fries and it was pretty good. We came in on 8-17-24 around 2pm and decided on the burger instead of breakfast. Our server was Angela H. and she was really nice, professional and took care of us while we were there. It's a nice and fun atmosphere going here, nice seats and staff. The parking can be challenging but its worth it.

Yelp
Classic retro diner. Lovely. Food was adequate. Service meh. We ordered cocktails, and an appetizer. I received my dinner salad before the previous arrived. Drinks arrived with food. Mentioned to the food runner about missing app and not wanting it any longer. Got some rude comment and then the app arrived. I think I'll try breakfast next time. Maybe it will be different.

Yelp
A classic diner with a variety of delicious food options and happy hour specials daily! This was my first time coming to this location since they moved a few years back! We sat on the patio with our daughter but inside is nicely decorated as well. It was happy hour when we arrived, we got an order of wings we did 1/2 Buffalo and 1/2 Bbq. My daughter got the kids spaghetti with French fries as her side, she really enjoyed it and I thought it was a good portion. To drink I got a Moscow mule which was 7$ on HH and my husband got the liquid candy ipa. I got the sirloin as my entree which came with mashed potatoes and green beans , my husband got a burger. We all enjoyed our food and would definitely come enjoy again.

Yelp
Decent happy hour for a low key weeknight. There weren't many non dairy options so I went with cheeseless nacho fries. Their margarita was okay, a little on the sweeter side. The service was great as our server checked in on us often. The restaurant is large so there wasn't a problem getting seated during happy hour which is served throughout, not just the bar area.

Yelp

Yelp
Their grilled chopped chicken salad is really good. I would go back just for this. And their famous sundae. And onion rings. We come from time to time. They're a bit pricey, but I feel like most places now are pretty pricey. I've gotten the Stinko, and that was good, and salad with salmon. The day we went, their salmon was made really well. I don't go enough to know if this is a consistent thing. Their prime rib dip was delicious, as was their omelette. Overall, good experience. Nice place to take guests that isn't super fancy, but also not too casual. Service was solid. Has always been solid when I've been. Sometimes there's a wait, but the night we went, we were seated right away.

Yelp
There are specials during the weekdays. I happened to come on a Thursday where they have chicken pot pie as the special. I must admit, when I saw it on a plate, it kinda threw me off because usually it's served in a bowl with just the crust visible. This was good old fashioned American comfort food, perfect to eat on a cold rainy evening. The crust was thick, buttery, and kinda flakey. The pie filling was creamy with chunks of chicken and pieces of peas or carrots. Is it the best chicken pot pie ever? I don't know, I'm not a chicken pot pie connoisseur. But what I do know is that it was yummy and warmed my soul.

Yelp
The service is great, the staff is super friendly. The dinner food was ok, a bit on the salty side, but I'm a picky eater. It's a nice diner atmosphere. They also have a bar that looked enticing to hang out in. I would probably go back to sit at the bar. For dodger's fans, they play the game in both areas, so my bf liked that.

Yelp
My father in law mentioned this place many months ago, he said they had the best onion rings ever. He used to frequent Twohey's about 50 or so years ago, back when they had waitresses on roller skates bringing food out to your car. For his birthday we decided to take him back to his old stomping grounds for some onion rings. We went Sunday afternoon around 12:30 the wait was about 20 minutes. We were seated on the patio and our waiter was over right away to take drink orders. We also ordered their deviled egg appetizer. Our drinks came out, I asked for a straw for my bloody mary. He forgot about it, I had to ask two more times. I asked for waters for the table, that took at least 10 minutes to happen. When he brought the water, my husband asked about the deviled eggs, as we had been waiting probably 30 minutes for them. He seemed surprised they hadn't come out yet and said he would check on them. When he returned he said the kitchen was backed up, and he gave my husband a beer on the house. That was nice. Eventually the eggs arrived and they weren't worth the wait. I thought the description of blue cheese and bacon sounded great, but they were very dry and had an odd flavor. None of us cared for the eggs. Also $12 for three eggs is a bit much in my opinion. For lunch I had their prime rib dip, husband had The Everything burger, and my FIL had a tuna melt. We all wanted to get those famous onion rings, waiter said they were an add on and we HAD to have another side? I get paying more for the onion rings, but why were we all forced to have an additional side none of us wanted? Seems wasteful to me. We all stuck with fries and they all got tossed at the end. The food was OK. My husband's burger was actually really good, I liked it more than my prime dip, which was just average. The fries (that none of us wanted) were WAY too salty. The onion rings were very good, but certainly not worth a drive to Pasadena from Anaheim. FIL seemed happy with his tuna melt. After lunch I decided to get a bittersweet sundae to share with the table. It was great! A small sundae was more than enough for the three of us. Their menu is large and I am sure many items on it are tasty, I just didn't happen to order the right thing.

Yelp
I was so sad when this place closed a few years ago. So glad to see they're back and better than ever. I loved my Greens and Grains salad and I saved my zucchini bread for home later. My daughter loved her Monte Cristo and the potato salad was good too. My fiancé loved her Grilled Cheese and her Mom enjoyed her Chicken Cesar salad. The Stinko burger is always a good bet as well although we didn't try it today. They have a cute bar area and amazing bakery items as well. I've enjoyed Twoheys since I was a kid so it's fun to go back from time to time.

Yelp
This place is chill. 1943 is when this place opened and the mix of the past and now is balanced! Love love. We sat at the bar because of the wait, BUT, Max and Sam were the BEST!!! The food. Let's start with the Poutine, what great start and enough for the 3 of us who were here. The main, well can I say YUMMY! Desert will be pie or cake or a milkshake made the old fashioned way with house made whipped cream. Don't miss this place. This is so good!!

Yelp
What an amazing place! Classic diner meets modern cuisine. A great blend of food items. Max the bartender is a craftsman mixologist. This is a must visit place in South Pasadena

Yelp
Great bang for your Buck! This review is for their daily happy hour which is from 3pm to 6pm. I've lived around Twoheys for a good chunk of my life, from their alhambra location to their current one in South Pasadena and i had never gone til about a 2 months ago, and now i'm kinda kicking myself. This restaurant has a real honest to god good happy hour, it has kickin drinks with good ingredients for $7, there's a large selection of tasty bites to eat that starts at $7 for a poutine, with most items are $10, but they have pretty good portion sizes, and it goes up to burger and beer combo for $18. With inflation as it is now, these prices are amazing value. The place is clean and inviting, there indoor is nice and they have a nice breezy patio. I went to the happy hour 3x in the past 2 months and each time the place has been kinda busy but it was never crowded it was comfortable. The service is great, the food comes out quick and the drinks are strong, they got crayons and placements to occupy kids. This place is great. Its a regular in my rotation now. I'm gonna try their main menu for breakfast/lunch/dinner soon and report back.

Yelp
One of our favorite restaurant in the neighborhood and we had lovely memories in the past years. I really hope today was the one off situation but seriously, I really don't want to go back anymore. It's a double birthday celebration, we brought our own cake, the front desk told us there will be an extra $25 dollar charge for cake, totally ok! By the time we are ready for the cake, I went to the front desk, they even told me there's sparklers! Super excited, yes! After awhile, our waitress came over and asked how many pieces would you like to cut it? I said thats fine we can cut our own cake! Shortly after, she brought entire cake to me, in the box. I asked, what about the sparklers? She said, i dont know about sparklers, but let me know if you need a lighter. We didnt want to bother, so we light our own candle, sang the song and cut the cake. While eating the cake, our waitress came again. She said, Im sorry. The guy asked me to ask you because he said you're the birthday girl. Do you want the ice cream with the sparkler on it? Is that what you want? No, I dont want ice-cream with a sparkler on it. I just want a sparkler on my cake like your front desk said and it would be already light up, on the cake, and bring to the table. Instead, as a birthday girl, I received my cake, in the box. Oh well, its ok. We still love this restaurant. After 5 minutes, a table around us, got a cake with that sparklers on top and delivered to their table. What. A. Joke. I went to the front desk, tried to ask why this $25 dollars cake fee would be like this, received a cake in the box and while you said you would give me a sparkler with no table service? She said, its because you didn't buy our pastry thats why we are charging you. Such a disappointment, felt very puzzled and underwhelming with all the treatment while we are spending $300 for the night at a diner.
