The wine tasting at Twomey Napa Valley is a refined and delightful experience that showcases the winery’s expertise in crafting elegant Pinot Noirs and Merlots. Nestled in a serene setting, the tasting room offers a welcoming and intimate atmosphere, perfect for savoring their small-production wines. Each pour reflects a commitment to quality and a deep connection to the vineyard, with bright, balanced flavors that highlight the nuances of the terroir. The knowledgeable staff enhances the experience, sharing insights into the winemaking process and the story behind each wine. For those seeking a relaxed yet sophisticated wine-tasting experience in Napa, Twomey is a must-visit destination.

Google
I was a bit hesitant to visit Twomey because of some bad reviews. However, I had good memories with Twomey's Pinot Noir, and the winery is the perfect location under my tour route. It was the perfect decision to choose Twomey for me. I was not aware that they are family of Silver Oak, and they really welcomed one Asian tourist with a newly launched crispy Chardonnay. During the tasting, they gave me enough time for me to fully enjoy the Wines and respect my tasting notes. Thank you, Twomey winery, and hope to visit you again.

Google
Travis was wonderful with helping us on our wine tasting Journey! It was a wonderful time and the wines are delicious. I highly recommend it. The tasting room is getting an update and I can’t wait to see the new look.

Google
Twomey’s Napa Valley tasting room is in a beautiful setting, with peaceful outdoor seating areas surrounded by lush gardens. It's a perfect spot to relax with a glass of their wine and some bread or crackers and cheese. The tasting room staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The wine tasting itself was fantastic. Everything about our visit was top-notch. It's clear this winery puts their heart into producing great wine as well as providing an excellent customer experience. My only regret is that Twomey is not located closer to where I live, because we'd visit more often! I highly recommend stopping by the next time you're in the Napa area. With scenic surroundings, delicious wine, and warm hospitality, Twomey's Napa tasting room is a dream destination.

Google
Super nice and accommodating tasting room. Baby friendly and A/C. They gave us our own little room. Fantastic service and staff along with great wine. No waived tasting fees with purchases. But I love that they have a library of aged wines to buy and I was able to snag a magnum of 2014 merlot for $150. By Napa standards they have some solid deals and exclusive aged wines if you know your stuff. Killer 2021 sauv blanc for $30.

Google
Experience was expensive and not applied towards purchase of bottles. We would have bought more bottles but $100 for two tastings is a bit much. They did however give us 10% off the bottle and we kept the glasses.

Google
I thoroughly enjoyed the tasting here. The wine was delicious, the staff was friendly, and the ambiance was terrific. I recommend tasting here.

Google
Fabulous tasting experience set against an incredible outdoor backdrop. I’m not a big red wine gal, but the 2018 Pinot Noir was exactly what a relaxing spring afternoon called for. I will be back soon!

Yelp
Winery six of our Napa tour last year brought us to Twomey Cellars in Calistoga, technically our third stop in that area for that day, where we have a wine club membership. Due to our wine club membership, we enjoyed a complimentary tasting before picking up some Pinot noirs to ship back home. Before we left, we took some selfies that allowed us to embrace synergy. Ironically enough, I purchased a wine club membership with Twomey before ever setting foot at their tasting center in Calistoga. We had our tasting in the outdoor patio area where we had healthy servings of their rose and various pinot noir releases. Being there was a lot of fun. The patio area and the vineyards behind the tasting facilities had areas for taking photos and selfies. We embraced the synergy of wine, fine weather, and vibes that radiate the valley.

Yelp
My favorite winery. I'm not much of a wine drinker but I love Twomey. It's so beautiful here and relaxing. My favorite red if going to drink is Anderson Valley. Gina always hooks us up giving me so much different red to try to open up my pallet and explore. They are all so nice here and giving good tips.

Yelp
Nice spot but currently under some renovations. While we don't mind being in a back room, I think had tastings not been under their special pricing for the 25 year anniversary, I may have had a different tune. Loved the idea of the vertical tasting which I hadn't done before and highly recommend trying. I also love that they did tastings this year for $25 for 25 years and it comes with a special glass to take home!

Yelp
No Kids ... Go elsewhere. First stop Twomey....we were the only ones there. Brought my Executives from Asia and tour the wineries where we procured for our restaurants and client gifts. I would pruchase wines from a few wineries. Sadly Twomey just lost my business. The female host advised us the my 6 year old is not allowed in the property. Ok thats fine, he can wait bt the garden. She then said NOT allowed in the property. asked where can he go? She flatly said not in any twomey property. Not even wait in our car that is parked in twomey property. We have to leave. Twomey, you just lost a client/restauranteur. My purchases may not be significant. Its ok.... I will just say feeling of being discriminated (being asian). We ship containers of wine to Shanghai. Sadly the experience is not cool.

Yelp
Came in since one of my friends was a member. They have a great outdoor setup that has comfy chairs and shade. The gentleman was sooo nice and informative. We all did the red wine tasting which we loved! Even more, we got a bottle of white to share between all of us. Loved how friendly the gentleman and the wine even more!

Yelp
Nice property - beautiful views and excellent wines. The staff was awesome - very friendly and welcoming. I also learned how to properly pronounce this wine which I've been mispronouncing for years ha ha! I bought a bottle of their Sauvignon Blanc, and the last stop vineyard Pinot Noir. Definitely would go back!

Yelp
Wow! Such a great experience! Jim was so knowledgeable! And friendly! Thank you! Good wine too! Delicious! Highly recommend! Go!

Jerry B.

Yelp
Jim was absolutely amazing. Friendly and so knowledgeable! The tasting room is casual and unpretentious. And the Sauv Blanc is highly recommended! A perfect afternoon. Thank you Jim and Travis!

Yelp
We're members here, at Twomey, but have never been to the winery, so when visiting Napa recently, we made reservations to come see Twomey. They have a beautiful and quaint tasting room, but large outdoor, covered seating, which is where we sat. All the wines we tasted were very nicely done! Our wine educator was very friendly, helpful, and did a nice job sparking up conversation. Definitely will return!

Yelp
If you're looking for a winery that knows their stuff, this is it. My idea of a tasting is getting a sample and learning the history. This place doesn't feel rushed through conversation--it's friendly banter. Today I learned the that a sav Blanc needs blends to reduce acidity, however, too much and it loses its taste. Honestly what an experience. I would come back to learn more. The wines themselves are incredible, thank you silver oak for buying twomey because the variety was fantastic. The wine was delicious, and the staff is so well versed in their product. I wish I took more photos.

Alex F.

Yelp
I like this place Friendly customer service and knowledgeable representatives. I love their wines and I will buy more from them on my next visit.

Yelp
It was my husband's first time in Napa Valley for wine tasting. He is a 3 Michelin star chef and we were both looking forward to tasting at Twomey. As we entered the tasting room, the woman at the counter ignored us and began pouring for a group of 4 who clearly arrived after us. My husband even called her out on that and she didn't say anything. Once she finally acknowledged us, she said she would not serve us because they were "understaffed". We didn't have a reservation but there is no sign saying 'by appointment only' and their website states that walk-ins are "always welcome for parties of four or fewer". We were there an hour before closing and it didn't look all that busy. Don't usually leave negative reviews but thought others should know that Twomey is Napa Valley pretentiousness at its finest. We'll stick to Sonoma County, the friendlier wine country.

Rayann R.

Yelp
We had the best experience during our vertical tasting with Stephen. He was kind and incredibly knowledgeable. I'm so happy we discovered Twomey; we can't wait to visit again.

Yelp
This is a great, quick stop in Napa for a tasting. It is about $20 for four pours (depending on the wines they have that day) and you stand at the bar in the tasting room. Our host was extremely knowledgeable about wine and very educational. We asked him a TON of questions and I never got the feeling that my questions were stupid (even though they probably were). At one point he even took out an entire map of Napa Valley and explained why the grapes were so great here. He also compared wine to a time capsule - a piece of a past year's harvest that, once opened, will never exist again. I believe Silver Oak and Twomey is owned by the same Duncan family. However, Silver Oak specializes in Cabernet Sauvignon. To protect the brand, the family opened Twomey which now specializes in Pinot Noir.

Yelp
We've driven past TWOMEY hundreds of times and never stopped. We recently went with friends and were pleasantly surprised. The tasting room interior does feel a bit old outdated Napa but the outdoor lawn area was a really nice place to enjoy some Pinot. It was chilly on the day we were tasting and our attendance quickly brought us cozy blankets to keep us warm. The wine we've had before but we really enjoyed learning more about their other locations and the history. Definitely a great spot to stop particularly if you could use a break from the traditional heavier Napa reds!

Yelp
Twomey is for me! Gabe was such an AMAZING host! Kindly seated us even when reservations were booked. Was super attentive still. It was an intimate and calming vibe. Great music selections too- had some nice island reggae music playing softly in the background. Gabe gave us a generous pour of the Pinot noir and it was delicious. Ordered quite a few bottles which came with great packaging. It included a bottle sleeve and two wine glasses with each bottle purchased!

Yelp
We can't wait to come back! My husband and I went to Twomey for an anniversary wine tasting celebration on Memorial Day Weekend and the visit was amazing! We encountered a lot of traffic and let them know we were going to be late, but they held our table and didn't rush us at all. A colleague of mine who is a member here recommended it to us for their Pinots and it did not disappoint. The wine quality was amazing. Our staff member Bernice gave us lots of interesting facts about the wine and even gave us multiple "revisit" pours and special off-list tastes, and basically we got 2x the wine than what was called for! Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and there wasn't any snobbery as one has come to expect in Napa Valley. We decided to bring a bottle of wine home with us, and the staff included 2 branded wine glasses as part of the purchase. We are thrilled to have our own set and decided to break them in the same day! Just a simply lovely visit with all the extras you wouldn't know to ask for!

Yelp
Our group of 9 was overjoyed with our first experience at Twomey in Calistoga! They had our tasting table set up for 10:00 and had the best hosts explaining the wine, history of the vineyard and gave excellent recommendations! We tried 3 varieties and bought a couple bottles for the road. They allowed us to take pictures in the property and vineyards and got so lucky with this experience! This was recommended by Beau Wine Tours and are so glad they did! We took sooo many photos of this location and are pumped we did! Maybe one day I'll be back to celebrate a wedding or another birthday celebration!

Yelp
Twomey is a super relaxing and pleasing winery! Love the selection and the location, but we have to give the biggest shout out to Gabe, who worked as our host! Super amenable, very friendly and personable, Gabe was by far our best host out of all the wineries we've ever been to. He made us feel so welcome - we chatted with him and he talked not only of the wine, but also the history of Twomey as well as Silver Oak and beyond! What a knowledgeable guy. I would go back JUST to have him host us again - major two thumbs up!!
google avatar

Tiffany Z.

Yelp
Gabe delivered thy experience that one would expect when arriving at a tasting. Not only can he provide knowledgeable local wine insight, but he will round out a beautiful & unforgettable wine experience! He was genuinely a nice person with a great sense of humor. He made our first wine tasting of the day, the best of the day! Highly recommend! (Hidden message to Gabe: Biltong to follow ;) )

Yelp
We weren't sure what to expect given Covid and wine tasting restrictions. With that said, Gina our host & Twomey made the experience exceptional! We made reservations the day before for 10 am Friday morning, when the doors opened. We felt quite comfortable when we arrived we where warmly greeted & Covid cleared before being seated. Tables where spread out but we had the place to ourselves up until the end of our tasting. Gina was friendly, knowledgeable & we truly enjoyed her conversation and recommendations. It was refreshing to take in a high end winery & feel so at home 5-stars not only for the yummy tasting but to the staff that is taking what has been dealt seriously, without making you feel uncomfortable. Worth the stop

Yelp
Gabe Goltz has been hands-down our favorite Sommelier and tasting guide of any wine tasting in Napa Valley. What a fun, knowledgeable, Germanophile wine lover with a lightning fast (dual processor?) mind and cheerful perspective on wine and life. Thanks Gabe for making our day! L & L Idaho

Patricia S.

Yelp
We had a fantastic day at Twomey. The wine was spectacular and our host, April, was incredibly friendly. Stephen Shenton also made our experience one we won't forget. He was knowledgeable about the vineyards, very charismatic, and really funny too. We'll definitely be back for another tasting.

Yelp
I was looking for a winery/ tasting room that said walk ins were welcome ( I looked at their website) because I was well aware of the fact that I was coming in on a beautiful Saturday afternoon with no reservations! We were showing friends around and would've been happy to do a tasting or enjoy a bottle at any winery that would take us. The lady that first helped us (I didn't catch her name) wasn't rude, but also wasn't very welcoming. She let us know that they weren't able to do tastings (completely understandable) but that we could buy glasses/ bottles and drink at a table outside which we seemed perfect to us! She sat us outside and as soon as she went back in to get glasses we debated leaving because we didn't feel very welcomed. Luckily, Berenice later took over and we had a great time! We had asked the first lady if would could sit at a different table that was in the shade, she said it was reserved (again, completely understandable). The difference in service between her and Berenice was that when we later asked Berenice if would could move our table into the shade, she opened the umbrellas for us! If Berenice had been our server from the beginning, I would left a 5 star review.

Yelp
Twomey Cellars is owned by Silver Oak Cellars in Napa Valley. Their portfolio comprises vineyard-designated as well as appellation-driven wines, using grapes sourced from eight estate family-owned vineyards in California, with a pinot driven vineyard opening in Oregon soon. Sustainability includes saving water, conserving energy, protecting the environment and promoting healthy vineyards. They follow modern IPM (Integrated Pest Management) protocols which partial use pesticides, to keep phylloxera in check but making it to where they attract beneficial insects, such as ladybugs, spiders, bees, and butterflies.
google avatar

Yelp
absolutely will be including this little spot every time I visit Napa! Steven was an absolute delight and was very knowledgeable about the wines!! Thank you for an enjoyable visit!
google avatar

Yelp
Great experience in this winery (better service if you go on the week), service was fenomenal, wine is excellent even we want to go to Silver Oak but wasn't necessary because they have some wine from there, also they have a nice patio, highly recommended
google avatar

Yelp
From Silver Oak, comes Twomey. This is a hidden gem in Calistoga. Understated, simple winery with fantastic Merlot, Pinot Noirs including a Bien Nacido of "Sideways" fame. All produced in local fields under the watch of Silver Oak. Our host Gabe was a very likable star. Knowledgeable, sincere and friendly, he made the experience delightful and provided guidance and suggestions of other perfect wineries to visit, such a Merry Edwards -- we would have never discovered without his suggestion
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Wine is great, but the customer service is superb! We stopped here unexpectedly and couldn't have had a better experience. Originally, we were going to buy a couple bottles of wine and leave since we had our dogs, but they found us a table, brought them water, gave them all the pets, and allowed us to relax. Berenice was knowledgeable and everyone was really friendly, they even brought us a "Wine Dogs of California" photo book to peruse during our tasting. Berenice made our experience really awesome and we really appreciate her recommendations and suggestions.
google avatar

Ashok R.

Yelp
We went specifically for a wine tasting and no intention of purchase. Their tasting is $15 for 4 wines. They weren't pushy on selling any of their wines, only the tasting. There was no wait to get the tasting or parking. The wait staff was very attentive, and filled our glasses quickly. My favorites were the Sauvignon Blanc and the Anderson Valley Pinot. The interior seating and standing area was very small, but the exterior area was very large.
google avatar

Jen O.

Yelp
Love love Twomey! This is my second visit here. They have the best Russian River valley Pinot Noir around Hospitality is wonderful and they Comp your tasting with a purchase. Must try for all Pinot Noir lovers
google avatar

Katie G.

Yelp
Our family visit to Twomey was amazing! I never ever write reviews but I feel like I must when it comes to this winery. Traffic in Napa on a Sunday afternoon made us late to our wine tasting reservation, however, we were received with a warm welcome and bright smiles. They got us set up quickly. Our host for the tasting was Gabriel, an absolute charismatic gem. He was extremely knowledgeable about the wine and had various anecdotes that led to great conversation and a great time. The wine was delicious. We loved are experience here and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to have a wonderful, relaxing time. Oh and the complimentary breadsticks were to die for!
google avatar

Erin S.

Yelp
Best winery experience hands down. We did the wine passport tour and this wasn't on it but we heard good things about their reds so decided to just go for it. So happy we did. Our tour guide was incredible and knew what she was talking about. Sold us on so many wines to bring home with us- which didn't take a lot of effort since their wines sell themselves (10/10 amazing). Whenever we make it back to the area we will def go again!!
google avatar

Sophie S.

Yelp
Really loved Twomey! Their wine (and Silver Oak, which Twomey is a part of) was our favorite amongst the wineries we visited in Healdsburg. The winery itself is small but intimate. The view was very peaceful, and our host (Chantal?) was very kind and informative without being snobbish or pretentious. Really appreciated her knowledge and enthusiasm for the wine! We visited during July 4th. Although we were worried that the weekend would be busy, we were really impressed by the measures Twomey took to keep everyone safe. Their reservations were completely booked out, but there were only 2-3 other parties at the same time as us. We were really spaced out, so it actually felt like a very private wine tasting experience. They also checked our temperatures at the door, asked us a questionnaire, and had us wash our hands before entering. Everyone was wearing masks. Will definitely be back!

Scott E.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the tasting experience and their wine. Enjoyed it so much we immediately joined their Club! Highly recommended!
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
We were looking for a place to do a drop in tasting and found this place on yelp. The staff was very friendly. The only downside is they don't offer glasses tasting only but we enjoyed the wine here a lot. I ended up taking a bottle home with me. They have a small parking lot and some outdoor seating area. This is a smaller winery that you should check out if you have a chance. They are reasonably priced and we enjoyed the intimate nature of the winery. Much more relaxed and personal then the larger wineries.
google avatar

Patrick M.

Yelp
A nice winery with a very friendly manager. They have some good tastings and I think you get 4 for $15. The wine club also seems like a reasonable deal in that you take 3 shipments a year, and shipping is only $5 in California. My problem was that there are no discounts on the shipments wine (even for wine club members), and only if you order additional bottles. Because of that, I hesitated to sign up as a member. Twomey is also a sister winery to Silver Oak, which is one of the few ways to get discounts at Silver Oak winery. If you are in the area, I suggest stopping by for a taste.

Matt A.

Yelp
After arriving late at Napa my friends and I couldn't get into any winery. We tried over a dozen, weren't even looking for a formal tasting, just wanted to buy wine and chill. We got to Twomey at 4PM and they sat are group of 10, told us their best wines and let us buy a bunch and sit in the back on their beautiful patio. I believe her name was April. Thanks April!
google avatar

Mark F.

Yelp
This review is for the tasting room and not their fabulous wines. Small but modern tasting room with a very friendly staff. Ample parking but not much to see here. Well worth the visit but not a repeat unless you have time. Here, it's about the wine, not the room.
google avatar

Patrick H.

Yelp
Wine was good which got it two stars. However, service was lacking. It def had the pretentious napa feel to it and when I asked if the $100 tasting fee could be counted towards purchasing a few bottles the wine pouring lady gave a long winded snobby answer saying they don't participate in that ‍
google avatar

Kylie D.

Yelp
Not the spot if your looking for warm and friendly .. Silver Oak is awesome but Twomey in Calistoga not so much... we have had a membership for years now and after the third time not making it in the door for a tasting we are done. Far too many amazing places and people to keep these guys as one of them.
google avatar

Kirsten W.

Yelp
We stopped at Twomey as part of our tour with Getaway Adventures. Twomey has a beautiful location and their wines along with tasting room staff are excellent. We really enjoyed the Russian River Valley Pinot Noir and the Merlot. Our host Maxwell was knowledgeable and fun to interact with, our entire group had a wonderful time. Thank you!!!
google avatar

Ashley L.

Yelp
Wonderful!! There are kind people in this world! After biking all day in a heat wave (granted not smart) they took care of us and made sure we were cool, hydrated, and introduced us to a fabulous Sauvignon blanc (We brought home 5 bottles!!)! The atmosphere is relaxed, classy and cool. 100% recommend!! Special shout out to the gems: Karen, Stephen, Marry and Berenice for taking care of us! They were kind, knowledgeable, and fun!! After visiting several wineries in the area this was by far, our favorite!!

M N.

Yelp
Gina was amazing! Our first stop on our trip to Calistoga! Such a great experience and great wine! Wonderful atmosphere and the wines were fantastic! Can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Cory S.

Yelp
I'll keep this short... this place was awesome. by far one of our favorites that we went to while out here. It was small and you really felt they were paying attention to 'you' when you were there. Their wine is fairly priced and was boxed up well. Their gift shop had some items.. it seemed priced pretty well from the items I checked out. We bought a few bottles to take home and loved them just as much the second time down.
google avatar

Yelp
We had a lovely time at Twomey. The tasting area outside was beautiful and everyone at the winery was so friendly. The wines are amazing and a special shout out to our wine guide, Gina. Gina was amazing and very friendly. Sally at the front reception was also incredible. We can't wait to get back up there and visit again. Thanks Twomey for a great start to our weekend.

Ana T.

Yelp
We were here for the first time and we had an awesome and an amazing time. Gabe, was very knowledgeable and friendly. The wine is amazing and Gabe was the best steward ever. We will be back soon.

Yelp
Extremely nice people and even better wine. On a very busy Labor Day weekend Twomey was a nice break from the craziness of other wineries. $10 for a tasting of 4 wines, you get to take home a wine glass as well. They are happy to give you a re-pour of a wine. The tasting fee was waived for buying wine and there was an additional discount on the Sauvignon blanc that day. They threw in an extra glass just to be nice. The wine price range is $20-50/bottle. And don't forget the waived tasting fee. I really enjoyed the Sauv blanc and the Anderson valley Pinot. It's nice that they give you the tasting notes on a card for each wine so you remember what you liked about it. You can refer back to it when you drink it on a different day. There is a very relaxing and tranquil outdoor area where you can enjoy your tasting. The host was nice enough to let us walk out into the vineyard and taste the grapes that were to be harvested soon. That was very cool. The only thing that could be a negative, would be inconsistent taste pours. The lady who started us off gave a good-generous taste of the 1st wines. The guy who took over while the first lady stepped away for a moment was less generous.
google avatar

Yelp
This was a pleasant surprise- you must add this to your wine tour for sure! It's truly a delightful experience. The grounds are amazing- service is top notch. The Pinot is amazing and you get a beautiful wine glass. It was a no brained to become a wine member here. Thanks for a great time!
