Fort Worth Distillery Transitions to Making Hand Sanitizer During Coronavirus Pandemic | Eater Dallas

"Recently acquired by a major international spirits company, this Fort Worth distillery opened in late 2017 near downtown and quickly became the largest whiskey-making facility west of the Mississippi. It produces TX craft whiskey and bourbon brands and will be retooled to manufacture and donate hand sanitizer as part of a broader effort to address the national shortage during the coronavirus pandemic." - Tierney Plumb

Google
First experience at a distillery and we did the tour. If you are going to visit, I do highly recommend and think that this is the way to go. The property itself is gorgeous and sits on a gold course. You can tell that the company takes a lot of pride in their name. Every person we came across had a genuine smile and seemed to enjoy what the do. From the lovely lady at the gate entry, to the registration, to the actual tour guide. Everyone was highly professional, extraordinary clean, and did i mention beautiful? They had a lot of sitting areas and it was decorated for fall. You could see the fort worh skyline which was COOL. They have a bar that had A selection of cocktails. We did the strawberry lemonade for $7. And I gotta tell you.m first drink ive had in a WHILE that was worth it. No tips are taken at the bar top. Tour was about 45 min with a tasting and included a small cocktail. We plan to be back.

Google
Had a group here for a bachelor party and it was amazing. We started with the tour and it was a really good time. It’s very interesting to learn about the history and the process. Our guide, Corey, was amazing. He kept us engaged the entire time, and this was one of the highlights of our weekend. 5 stars for Corey and the tour he gave. After that we stuck around for the food, drinks, corn hole, and live music.

Karolyn H.

Google
Absolutely stunning location. Rolling hills, golf greens, barns, great view of Fort Worth, everything is so picturesque. We just stopped by for a drink, and would definitely come back to do the tour.

Google
Absolutely amazing experience!! We had so much fun! Signed up for a tour and learned a lot of info on different types of whiskey! The TX shop & bar is also a must!! We walked o it of there with a lot of merchandise!

Google
We had a fabulous time at TX Whiskey Ranch. We did a tour and tasting and I have been telling everyone I know they should make a trip to visit. The cost is super reasonable and the tour was fascinating. We went the day before Mother’s Day and the weather could not have been more perfect. I love that the had a food truck (delicious tacos) out there because I took advantage of the bar. This was my second time here and I enjoyed it even more this time. The mixed drinks are fantastic and I’m not normally whiskey drinker. They had also don’t a limited release batch so I grabbed a couple of those bottles and they are top notch. The staff were as friendly as they were informative. I plan to go back more often and take all our out of town friends when they come to visit.

Google
TX Ranch is well worth the visit! My husband and I went today, and there were only four of us on the tour—we had such a great time with our guide and the two others. It was fascinating to learn about the history of the land and how it all began, and of course, the tasting at the end was a perfect finish. Highly recommend!

Google
We had an incredible time celebrating my husband’s birthday on the whiskey tour! The tickets were very reasonably priced for such a memorable and high-quality experience—especially thanks to our guide, Corey. I used to train tour guides for a living, and Corey was truly outstanding—top-notch in every way!!! Not only did we learn so much, but every staff member we encountered was exceptionally hospitable, it actually caught us off guard in a good way! The entire experience was fun, unique, and so thoughtfully done. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, and we loved exploring and taking in the amazing views of Cowtown! We can’t wait to come back and are already looking forward to bringing friends and family with us!

Google
Tagged along for Derby Day with my mom and her friends! Had such a good time enjoying the beautiful scenery, horse races & tasty drinks! Will for sure be back to do a full tour of the distillery 🥃🏇👒

Yelp
Tracie did a great job on our tour and tasting. The entire experience was top notch. If you have not been, you have to see it and experience it all. Great people and tremendous whiskey and bourbon. Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable.

Yelp
The tour and tasting experience today at TX Whisky was a home run. Christy greeted us with Texas hospitality and made us feel welcome. Laura was our tour guide. She was knowledgeable and engaged. She conducted one of the best tours we've had at a distillery. Their facilities and grounds are 1st class and super impressive. It rivals many distilleries we've toured in Kentucky. For whiskey lovers visiting the Dallas/Fort Worth area, this is a MUST DO on your to do list. I highly recommend!

Yelp
Amazing distillery! Friendly suggestion for the tour guide Laura who did a great job, maybe consider not quizzing the us so much. I think you're trying to gauge our knowledge about the spirits but that's not what we came here for. We here for an education not a pop quiz. Laura was super knowledgeable and polite but asking us questions sets us up to fail or hopefully have the right answer. It made my experience uncomfortable. Beyond that I think you make some great whiskey but your bourbon needs some work. All the best

Yelp
We went to this place for trivia, so this review is really based on that. We did get drinks from the bar, and the bartender was super friendly. Even with a few people ordering semi-complicated drinks, he was on it. We also wandered around to see what we could, and I can see this being a really good spot for an event. No food was served by the venue, but they did have a food truck.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a beautiful ranch and atmosphere- we went on a Friday night for live music and for my friends birthday. I believe tickets were $25 and that comes with a free drink. The space was so beautiful with the views and landscaping. I ordered a Frozen Cherry Coke from the bar and it tasted exactly like an icee. It was sooo good. The live music was really great too- perfect for any calm hang out with friends. They also do tours of the distillery but we didn't do that part. Note: they do last call at 9pm but they abruptly also close at 9pm so we were very quickly kicked out and closed down by 9 which was odd- but hey now we know.

Yelp
Wow, what a nice place with lots of outdoor seating, 2 large outdoor fireplaces, spacious indoor seating by the bar & activity area. The entire place is nicely landscaped & clean. The bar staff were efficient & reasonably friendly (they were busy). Perfect place for a romantic outing, girls/guys night, reunion, or business meetings. Most drinks cost $11-12. There was a "pasta & pretzel" food truck with $12 sandwiches & $6 snacks.

Tonya K.

Yelp
Love this local gem of a venue! Attended for a group event and the warmth, beauty, and friendly staff is inviting and reasons to return! Whiskey Wednesdays are fun. Live music, food trucks, trivia...there is something for everyone. Fun for couples, girls/guys nights with a great cocktail menu with the high quality TX Whiskey as a highlight.

Yelp
This distillery is located on a pretty patch of land outside downtown Fort Worth. It was originally a country club and there is a still a private 9 hole golf course on the property. We decided on the distillery tour. It lasted approximately 45 minutes and included views of each stage of the distillation process. There was also tasting at the end. Our guide -Corey was very knowledgeable. Afterward we sat outside and enjoyed live music. There was also a food truck on site. Definitely a chill atmosphere and some good spirits.

Brent N.

Yelp
This place is a gem hidden in North Texas. If you call yourself a bourbon connoisseur, it's a must. Tracie our tour guide is a must. She delivers the info You want to know.
google avatar

Sloane L.

Yelp
Shout-out to our energetic tour guide Ian who walked a bunch of talkative whiskey enthusiasts through a tour and tasting at this new(ish) distillery, which has won several awards since launching its brand in 2012. It's quite a local destination, situated on an old golf course where the remaining 9 holes are reserved for special events and charity tournaments. The site has a main bar, a lounge bar that features karaoke and game nights, food trucks, and an extensive retail shop. The tour does not include the rickhouses, for safety reasons, but you can get up close to the fermentation tanks, so all in, a fun experience. Tasting included 3 different whiskeys and a bonus cocktail.
google avatar

Benz J.

Yelp
Services are excellent but there is no food serving indoor, only food truck parking in front. I would given 5 stars if they serve cocktail glasses instead of plastic. The atmosphere is incredible, unfortunately our first visit didn't take a tour, perhaps next time. However, we love live music and ambience all around both indoor and outdoor.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a must do! If you enjoy whiskey at all, you will like this ranch. The tour was clean, informative, and well put together. The store has lots to offer and so does the tavern. They have food trucks outside if you're hungry. We will be back! Fall days are perfect for this activity.
google avatar

Clarabelle W.

Yelp
Fabulous drinks in a gorgeous location. Truly a picture perfect outing. We also really enjoyed the food truck.
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
A friend highly recommended this place and I finally got around to checking it out. Came here with my wife, daughter and son in law. We took the tour and our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The tasting felt a bit rushed but the bourbon was excellent. We enjoyed a cocktail in the bar afterwards and took advantage of the 10% discount in the store. Missed out on the live music as it was outside and the heat kept us inside with the air conditioning.

Yelp
Absolutely an awesome place. We came here for the "Repeal" celebration from 12/5 from 1933. Really incredible place. Life music on certain events. Absolutely amazing people, great service. The building is just great for hanging out. They allow food trucks. This food truck was seriously awesome. Hudson Wagu beef, home raised beef, seriously the best burger I've had since the Bin303 in Rockwall TX. This event was the perfect way to celebrate my birthday.

Yelp
My Wife and I had a wonderful afternoon this past week at TX Whiskey Distillery, located on a beautifully repurposed 18-hole golf course. The setting is absolutely stunning rustic charm meets modern Texas style, with panoramic views of the Fort Worth skyline that make for a perfect backdrop. We had the pleasure of taking the tour with Tracy, who made the experience both informative and fun. Her knowledge, personality, and passion for TX Whiskey really brought the story of the distillery to life. After the tour, we headed to the Tavern where Kathleen our bartender, rounded out the afternoon with great conversation and even better cocktails. She was friendly, attentive, and helped make the visit feel even more special. If you're looking for a great mix of scenery, whiskey, and genuine hospitality, TX Whiskey Distillery is a must visit.

Yelp
What a great place to visit! Beautiful grounds, excellent whiskey products, and a great tour of the distillation process. Yes, the tour includes a whiskey tasting of course. There is also a great bar and retail space. Plan to spend some time here.

Yelp
11/10.... The ambiance of the place is amazing. It's on an old golf course and the people here are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about whiskey. We did the tour and Tracie was amazing. The view of downtown Ft Worth was second to none on this golf course turned whiskey manufacturing location. We asked our bartender, David about a fire on the patio and he was happy to accommodate. I will return and bring people here. I love the place and the customer service!!!! Thank you!
google avatar

Drew G.

Yelp
The most beautiful venue. I really enjoyed our visit for the Meat Church BBQ School. I loved everything about the grounds and facilities. The patio and fireplace are amazing. I also noticed they were having a big Kentucky Derby Party this Saturday with Mint Juleps all day. Sounds like a great time!

Kelli S.

Yelp
We truly enjoyed our tour with Tracie! Excellent experience and such a beautiful property. We will for sure be back with friends.

Austin H.

Yelp
Took a tour here for my bachelor party and we absolutely loved it. It was the highlight of all the events we had planned for the day. Our tour guide, Corey, was extremely knowledgeable and very personable. You could tell he was passionate about the distillery and I will definitely be recommending it to anyone looking for something fun and unique to do in the area.
google avatar

Robb K.

Yelp
Really good tasting room and lots of options to try. Must visit if you enjoy "brown" spirits
google avatar

Brian L.

Yelp
As a distillery tour guide (unaffiliated with TX), I can say that this was an absolutely fantastic tour. For our group, we were privileged to be educated by Kristen, whose knowledge and enthusiasm was absolutely infectious. But regardless of who leads yours, I think you'll be in for a treat. TX is a full experience distillery with the loveliest of folks, and maybe it was just a semi-charmed day with live music and delicious food trucks, but I highly recommend stopping by this local Fort Worth establishment regardless of how you feel about brown liquor. Bonus? I happened to run into a musician that I've played with before and I got to jam with their band on stage!
google avatar

Ben K.

Yelp
Incredible whiskey in a beautiful location. This place is off the beaten path but worth the trip. It truly feels like a resort where you can enjoy an incredible drink. Planning on checking out the tour that they offer too. The few drawbacks are the lack of food and more choices of drinks. Other than that, if you looking for a great whiskey distillery, this is an amazing place.

Janine W.

Yelp
My husband and I had a fantastic time at TX Whiskey Ranch! We enjoyed the informative tour by our engaging guide, educational tasting, and optional visit to the onsite bar where we hung out with the new friends we made from our tour group. The bar boasts a creative menu that we plan to continue sampling on future visits. This place is beautifully constructed on a former golf course making the landscape very inviting. To top it off, it has an incredible view of downtown Fort Worth! Without a doubt we will be back for future events hosted here, especially when the weather cools down.

Yelp
Went to the ranch for a music bingo night with some friends. There were a lot of people enjoying the game and the drinks were good!

Miriam R.

Yelp
Tracy was very knowledgeable and friendly. Our tour was amazing with her. Hey nice whiskey distillery tour
google avatar

Elizabeth A. H.

Yelp
We visited for a cocktail mixing class. It was a lot of fun and the drinks were good. I highly recommend the class. However, it did make me wonder why they have the pre mixed cocktails at the bar because they were not good, you can really tell a difference. And when all you do is sell whiskey I would think you would make a fresh cocktail for people it was not super busy when we were there. It is a beautiful location and felt very safe.
google avatar

Ryan M.

Yelp
Amazing. Team worked well with me and highly recommend the tours. They were very helpful and such a fun environment. 10/10.

Yelp
Sippin Saturdays at TX Whiskey Ranch was a great way to experience the world of Texas Distilled Whiskey and Bourbon. From 1200-1700 your ticket buys you entry and a cocktail ticket and live music from 1400-1630. Relaxed Rustic Atmosphere, delicious Wilys Weiners food truck. Well thought out Cocktail menu, monthly events scheduled. We scheduled an additional Sippin Saturday and TX Cocktail Class in March. TX Whiskey Ranch Retail Store with a great variety of Whiskeys, Bourbons and Merchandise, w/ free engraving. Highly recommended, you will not be disappointed.

Mary O.

Yelp
This place is awesome! We made the short trip from Dallas because this had been on our list to do for a while. We took a tour with Corey and it was very engaging and interesting. I did not know much about the whiskey process but I learned so much and thought it was a very cool process. The cocktails and service were great. We spent all afternoon enjoying the lovely weather after our tour. I love how they had exclusive items that you can only get on the ranch. We will definitely be coming back.
google avatar

Rebecca R.

Yelp
We went to one of their events and had a lot of fun! The distillery is beautiful, and the drinks are even better. The wooden barrels stacked to the ceiling with all of the exposed wood are beautiful. Lots of space to walk around and relax.

Joshua V.

Yelp
We had a great time at whiskey ranch tonight. The drinks were great and the service was excellent! We will be back for sure!

Tommy C.

Yelp
Amazing drinks and fantastic food trucks. Slow pace with great staff. Calm and quiet property to allow you to enjoy your drinks.

Yelp
Stopped by 3 times now and every time have been greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff members who even recognized me after a couple prior visits. As a whiskey person, trying to not comment specifically on the whiskey as that's a different review - Whiskey Ranch delivers an unparalleled experience in the area. The view of downtown when walking outside, the "abandoned golf course" and overall feel takes you to a different place, hard to believe it's minutes from downtown FTW. Whether you are visiting or a local, highly recommend stopping by for an afternoon or a tour - bonus points if you take a bottle home and try and recreate some of their craft cocktails. Whiskey Notes - again, to try and leave the whiskey review separate...but TX has a very distinct vanilla taste of their standard whiskey, never thought of combining it with an espresso martini, highly recommend this as a starter as I'm always looking for something new and it's still great to try their different expressions neat as well!

Raissa K.

Yelp
If you like whiskey GO! I gifted this tour and got great report back so definitely a great place to visit:)

Kristin Z.

Yelp
We love Whiskey Ranch! It's a great place to relax and have a cocktail.,or meet up with a group of friends. Bootstitch is my absolute favorite! Cocktail! Head out to Whiskey Ranch on Wednesdays, Fridays or Saturdays for a great time! Bring cash to tip your amazing bartenders because there isn't an option on the CC receipt!
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
What a great find on short notice! Took a tour and tasting! Was met by such a great and wonderful staff! Our guide kept us informed on how the distilling process works, very similar to a tour in Kentucky! Sampled three bourbons/whiskey! I'm sold! The atmosphere at the ranch was amazing! If you find yourself in the area, you must visit this place! I walked away with several bottles that I brought home to CA!
google avatar

Lonnie M.

Yelp
Great place! Highly recommended 10/10 a must see venue in Fort Worth. The employees here are top notch. Tamara helped me with all my needs and above and beyond with getting gifts for my family and friends.
google avatar

McKenzie G.

Yelp
Kathy is INCREDIBLE!!! The whiskey is great! The ambience will have us coming back! A must stop!
google avatar

Chris K.

Yelp
Fantastic facility. Everyone was so friendly. Enjoyed sitting at the bar tasting the spirits. Barkeep was very informative.
google avatar

Helen S.

Yelp
Love this distillery. The grounds are beautiful with great views of the city, staff is super friendly and they usually have fun events going on. You do need to purchase a ticket whether online or upon arrival at the property. Only downside is that they only allow service dogs, which is a shame because they have such a large outdoor area.
google avatar

Emelly Y.

Yelp
If you visit the tavern, I recommend Kathy ! She was great gave us a little bit of history on the whisky. On top of that she was quick and wonderful!!! I hate I didn't have cash on hand to tip so please bring cash as you can't tip through your card !!

I L.

Yelp
Great tour with knowledgeable guide on Wednesday in April. The facility is beautiful, all the staff professional and welcoming. Whiskey is great with generous samples and special tour cocktail. Will return.
google avatar

Allison F.

Yelp
Came here for sipping Saturday and loved all the best whiskey drinks they have and shopping and enjoying the grounds. Very fun! I wish they had more food options will there and live music longer!
google avatar

Nikki M.

Yelp
We came here for an event and I must say I was impressed. I was a little weary at first seeing as it's in a not great part of Fort Worth but it's fenced off and is very private venue. The service was great, very professional, they had large fireplaces outside so even though it was chilly we stayed warm. The grounds were beautiful and very well kept. Would be such a great venue for any event!

Christian C.

Yelp
I'm not much of a drinker, we went for a friend's birthday. I still can't believe they built the distillery on a piece of Fort Worth and golf history. It used to be Glenn Gardens CC. The country club was where Ben Hogan and Byron Nelson caddied and played their first rounds of golf.

J. G.

Yelp
TX Whiskey Ranch tour is so much fun! Liam and Kathy make the experience so much fun! Had an amazing experience!
google avatar

Kevin W.

Yelp
I've been to quite a few distilleries across the USA and the works and TX ranks with the best of them (Makers bring my fave). The property is beautiful and and ambiance unmatched. They transformed a gold course to a beautiful faculty with great views of downtown Fort Worth. The service was amazing. From the checkin, the company store, Tyler the tour guide and the bartenders. Thank you for all you do.
