We visited Getaria from San Sebastían with family. The 1st time was ti explore and the 2nd time was to visit the Balenciaga Museum. On our 1st visit, we dined at Txoko for lunch. This place is small and gets really busy. You have to reserve or you’ll get turned away. Their seafood is amazing. You can watch the master chef grill them to perfection outside. We ordered some appetizers - Pulpo, shrimp, tomato salad, asparagus, We had the grilled sea bream and a grilled monkfish. They gave us a side of house-made fries and roasted red bells. We accompanied the bottle with a great Godello. What a meal. We said we’d be back. We returned to visit the Balenciaga museum 3 weeks later with my sister. Their croqueta was great, along with the grilled fresh shrimp and asparagus salad. We ordered the seam bream again. And again, it was perfect: fresh caught fish that morning, tender, grilled and finished with olive oil, mild vinegar drizzle, salt, chopped chives and crispy garlic. We had their Torrijo to cap off the meal this time.

We are a group of two couples and had a fabulous lunch at Txoko yesterday! Our server was outstanding - she was extremely helpful with the menu and took great care of us. The grilled turbo, roasted potatoes, red peppers and txacoli were fantastic. And the view was amazing. Memorable experience and highly recommended for anyone who loves fresh seafood and a great atmosphere.

Great corner spot overlooking the harbour and bay. Very friendly and efficient waiting Staff , ready to answer any of your questions and provide recommendations. Char grilled fish is good quality and the desserts are very creative.

Txoko had the best and freshest octopus i have ever tasted, the service was amazing by the team very inviting and willing to explain everything. The place is just amazing with a great view and nice atmosphere. The prices I think are a result of the quality of the ingredients and I was happy to pay for it. Definitely a big recommendation if you are in the Basque Country.

Txoko Getaria is for sure one of the best restaurants during our stay in Basque country. We had amazing rice with lobster and shrimps, as well as scallops on roasted paprika, grilled shrimps and asparagus. I recommend this place

Great place to have ‘extended’ lunch which we did! Freshest and most delicious seafood we had so far with friendly service and hello from chef himself! Highly recommended, enjoy!

Wonderful view of the Harbor. The food is simply marvelous, especially their specialty dish the Cod Plate. There are only 2 main meat dishes and although they are good, they don't come close to the quality of their seafood dishes, which are truly exceptional. The starters are also little works of art in presentation and test. The Crème Caramel is THE best I've ever had. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food.

Made reservations the day before. Good communication with the Front of the House. We had the grilled red fish which was expertly prepared with a drizzle of olive oil and perfectly fried sliced garlic. The fish was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. We had potatoes and fries green peppers as side orders. Both were delicious. Finished off the meal with passion fruit Cream Brulee and espresso. All this with a beautiful vista of Gataria's port and the cliffs behind it. Definitely a high recommendation for the food. The only thing that can improve is the wait staff which sermed understaffed and overwhelmed. Once you're served the food, they never came back to check if we needed anything. But that's OK, the food made up for it.
