Ty's Burger House

Ty’s Burger House is a must-visit if you’re in the area. The burgers were absolutely delicious; very juicy and flavorful. I asked about the meat, and Ty’s dad (who took our order and was super upbeat and friendly) told us it’s a special house blend of beef. Whatever the mix is, it works. These burgers are next level. Great food, and great people. Highly recommend. Food: 10/10. We will definitely be back!

Food was delicious, I ordered the double and my wife ordered the California. We also got the trio basket. Everything exceeded our expectations, compliments to the chefs. Thank you so much for the great meal and service.

So, $24.00 for a 7oz standard bacon cheeseburger 🍔 with fries and coke with no ice bc the fountain drink machine had none. Coke b/c i dumped out my first drink sprite as the sprite was sour b/c the sprite syrup was out. The patty was overcooked and dry but, bacon super tasty/crispy. A massive portion of well cooked fries and good burger to bun ratio. IDK...for 24$ if the patty was not well done, than maybe it would be a legitimate burger spot for me..or maybe I'm just the poor guy that got a overcooked patty and didn't complain to get a refresh. Went there bc of the massive amount of reviews but wasn't overly impressed, other options around.

My first time here. I got the jalapeño burger and it was DELICIOUS. Their onion rings are also some of the best. Casey was really pleasant to us which made our experience that much better. Thank you, Casey!

Location has some amazing burgers. California with Guac & Bacon is delicious. Outdoor patio is also really nice and chill place to eat. Beers on tap and other good stuff. Definitely check out if you're in the area!

As of late July 2025 after 15 years in beautiful Oceanside Ty’s Burgers has gone surfing for good 😱 The restaurant is now closed permanently! What a shame ! Oside is over building, and losing its local charm ! We do not need another mix used building too many hotels now! We’re losing parking lots more hotels in condos! 😨😨😨😨

I expected a little bit better on this place, given first time trying it and seeing the good reviews. Went on a Friday afternoon. There wasn’t a lot of customer but we had to wait like 40min still to get a to go food. Cashier stated that it’s only 25min way but waited more than that. When we check the food, the patties were like super dry and there wasn’t much flavor into it. Unfortunately we wont be coming back.

We sat in the patio today. It was a fantastic day. You have to go in to order the burgers, and they will give you a number, and they will deliver the burgers to you. Even though we were on the patio, they came out to check on us regularly. They also cleaned the patio table upon request. The patio tables were utilitarian stainless steel tables and chairs. I'm going to say it's utilitarian, but it works. Ty's burgers don't look like much to begin with. But omg, the food is fantastic. The best burgers handsdown I've ever eaten in oceanside since we've moved here to date. My hubby ordered a western bacon cheese burger, and I ordered a teriyaki chicken burger with no onions. And a basket of the trio, which is a basket of fries, sweet potato fries, and onion rings. Best decision ever to come eat here. I was having an allergy attack. After my first bite, I declared myself free of allergies. Lol, it was that good for me. My chicken was succulent and not overly sweet! I love it. We will be back again and again.

Visited here for the first time a couple of days ago and really enjoyed my lunch. I had perhaps the best Western Bacon Cheeseburger I've ever eaten. Ty's brought all the usual ingredients that come in that burger but did it better than other places. First off, the Angus beef patty was moist and not overdone. Next, the Haystack onions, Pepper Jack cheese, and Applewood bacon were all prepared really well. Lastly, they did not skimp on the BBQ sauce, which had a nice tangy flavor to it. I ordered some sweet potato fries to go with it, and I felt those might have been slightly overcooked. I'll probably go with regular French fries next time. Inside the place, the tables and the floor were kept nice and clean. Besides the indoor seating, they offered outdoor seating in the front as well as a nice shaded area in the back. They have beer on tap, so definitely a nice place to enjoy a meal at lunch or dinner.

We were on the hunt for supper and my mother in law wanted a burger, we found Ty's to be close. These folks are downright kind and will chat if you want to chat. Open space, good music and sports on the tv. The food came out quick and is sssssoooo good! I loved everything about our burgers and fries, so juicy and packed with flavor. The fries were crispy with a soft center. Possibly my favorite burger in all of our trips to Cali.

Wow, what a burger. We stopped into this small burger and beer spot on mission for lunch. The menu was nice, burgers, salads, and wraps. Nice selection of craft beer as well. I had the western bacon cheese burger. Delicious. Wife had the teriyaki chicken sandwich and she loved it. We shared the trio basket. Fries, sweet potato fries and onion rings all in one. All where spot on. We sat outside as it was a lovely day.

Online hours said they were open on Tuesdays. Got there just before 5pm and the place was not open. Tried calling but the phone just rang, no message on the phone or door of why they were closed.

Super solid burgers all around today. I had the bacon and blue burger that was loaded with bacon and blue cheese. The patty itself was pretty thick and had great flavor. I would have preferred to have it cooked med- rare, but I wasn't asked, and I didn't think to ask. The sweet potato fries were hot and tasty. The place was very clean and the gentleman working there was very nice. Bonus, they do a military discount also. They have several beers on tap and a couple of arcade pinball type games. They do have an outdoor seating area outback that looked nice. We got our food to go, and it still held up after the ten min drive home. Parking can be tricky in the area, so bring your walking shoes just in case. Prices were pretty decent given the quality and location.

Best burger downtown oside. Parking across the street. Always friendly usually not long to get the food. Surfer vibe interior. Offers draft beers. You gotta try them if downtown. Outdoor streetside seating as well as back patio.

Food (5/5 stars): Ty's Burger House in Oceanside is my new favorite North County burger spot! The Western Bacon Cheeseburger had my name on it; it's my go-to burger. I love a thick, juicy patty and they delivered. The burger was smothered in BBQ sauce and the onions were fried to perfection. I'm not the biggest shoestring fry fan but the seasoning made up for it. Highly recommend! Yummy family owned restaurant with fun burgers. The prices are great for what you get and local business' are superior.

Cute, simple little place in downtown Oside. The burgers are huge! But the bun was big too, and a bit dense and dry. The veggie burger was just ok (one of those patties that's loaded with veggies, and isn't trying to mimic beef). The Bacon blue cheese burger was also just ok...barely even knew the blue cheese was there. And finally, we were told the order would take 20 minutes. So we walked around for 20 minutes, came back, and were told it would be 15 more minutes.

We are craving for good burgers. So we decided to eat at Ty's. It's our second time we had Ty's burger and still never disappointed us. Still the best here in Oceanside. Full of flavor, you can tell the patty is hand made. I ordered jalapeño burger with onion rings and my guest ordered Ty's 2x4 with fries. The man at the counter I believe his the owner, very friendly and accommodating. He kept moving around making sure the place is clean and organized Definitely whenever we have cravings for good ole burgers. We know where to go. Highly recommend this place

This is my favorite burger spot in Oceanside. Their onion rings are supreme, and the jalapeño burger is phenomenal. The service is great, and it's got a cool vibe. Love this spot.

Great burger and outstanding fries. Grabbed some good between drinks on Oceanside and it was well worth it. Quick to bring it food, sat outside to enjoy the weather on the patio, we'll visit again soon

Such a great local burger joint. Everyone's so incredibly polite and helpful and the burgers are fantastic. Definitely recommend stopping by, both for adults and those with family.

Yum yum yum! Quality ingredients so close to the beach! We were greeted by a very kind man upon entering and he was very pleasant and helpful in sharing his favorites from the menu. My husband and I were told so many great things about the burgers here and oh my...they are delicious!! I got the jalapeño burger with fries and my husband got the bacon and blue cheese burger with onion rings. I would not get the fries again, they were very simple and plain, but the onion rings were so crispy and flavorful. The meat is great quality and very flavorful! And oh my the chipotle cause on the jalapeño burger was mouth watering! The ambiance is very simple and nothing to write home about. The patio looked better, but it was raining outside. We will absolutely come here again!

Bad service. Ordered 2 burgers to go and the modifications were both wrong. Asked for no sauce on the burgers. That will make them soggy on a to go order. And got sauce on them. Disappointed and won't go back Tried calling the place to get this refunded and no response

The food here is really good, worth driving out of the way for their juicy burgers. It's always Nice and clean. It has an additional back door open patio area for the nicer days.

We are huge fans of Ty's Burger House. Everything we have tried we love! I am a huge fan of the Jalapeño burger, my daughter says the Chicken Ciabatta is the best chicken sandwich she has ever eaten in her whole life, and my husband loves the Bacon Mac 'N Cheese burger. The sweet potato fries are good, but better dipped in ranch. The regular fries are delicious. The owner is so friendly and makes a point to stop by the table to visit for a bit. The decor is darling with a nice surfer vibe and beautiful pictures of the local pier. I wish we had a Ty's in our hometown!

Super casual, family owned place. Delicious burgers. Good size patties. Outdoor area in front and in the back that is dog friendly. Street parking or pay for parking lot across the street. Friendly staff.

We have called both their numbers for 2 days; 1 number is disconnected and the other number never answers. Poor service

I almost gave this 4 stars just because to me, 5 stars is above and beyond, but to be fair I couldn't think of a reason to take that one star away. So 5 it is. This is a smallish joint, comfortably furnished but not fancy, which is just the way we like it. We were served by a veteran gent (deduced he was a vet from his clothing) who I would assume is Ty. The orders took a little longer than average to come out, which is also how we like it. It means the food is not made by Habit (see what I did there) but with attention and care (well the taste has to corroborate this theory of course). And the taste was excellent, quantity/price ratio was fair, and service personal and just warm enough not to be cloying. When Ty isn't taking orders or attending to physical things around the joint, he walks the tables to verify the customer is happy. He will linger if you engage him, but if he sees you and your food are busy bonding, he will leave the two of you alone together. Wish all small businesses had this type of attitude, one of providing a quality product at a fair price with a good attitude. TY to Ty! (oops I did it again).

The Kobe burger was definitely five stars- the blue cheese burger more like 4 stars- so definitely get the Kobe!! Lots of burger options to try here, looking forward to coming back & trying their lamb burger! Ambiance is nothing spectacular but they do have indoor seating & two outdoor seating options, one at the front & another in the back. Service was good, you order at the front desk & then they bring you your entree's. Everyone was nice & as I mentioned the Kobe was a burger I'd return for- maybe the best one I've found in North County SD. Bottom line, if you're in or driving by Oceanside craving a good burger- look no further!! Recommended. Happy eating!

Good burger. I think for me it needed more seasoning. The bun is good, the meat was tender ( medium rare) Fries are good. Small portion but not pricey. Next time I'll have them salt the meat.

Picked up to go. Really nice service. Place looks really great inside with lots of seating. Burgers are good. Patty is on the thicker side, slightly dry and I feel like could have used a little more seasoning, but overall pretty good. The onion rings and fries are excellent.

I thought I left a review. Oops. It's been months but I still remember how crazy huge these dishes are. I got garlicky Mac n cheese burger. That's two meals right there. Onion rings. Huge! Someone got fries or curly fries? I don't remember but they were yum! Salad was ok, but we could have just been super full from the rest. I barely ate half my burger, two onion rings and some fries and was super full. Service... so nice and helpful. We were a big group and sat outside. Kids played in fake turf area. Super hard flooring but kids totally didn't mind. Right at alley way but had an enclosed area. Looked fun in the space, cactus and pots and brick. Fun backdrop for a rad photo. Big bathroom, painted with ocean scene. Sorry I can't find photos.

This burger is spectacular. Absolutely home made, juicy, best flavor hands down. The onion rings are beer battered and again, obviously home made. Fries are good too. Highly highly recommend. Food was too good to stop eating and take a photo!!

These are very good burgers. They are very large and well-seasoned, and have good, firm buns (like yours truly, see my profile pic) and quality ingredients. The only bummer was our burgers were overcooked. You overcook a burger, you lose the juiciness. But otherwise, they were very good. The California burger with guac and fries is excellent. The bacon and blue cheese burger is also very good. You can't miss with that combo of flavors but I think I preferred the California burger. Would I return? Of course! There is a lot of flavor in these burgers. I can even overlook all of the USC paraphernalia inside. Hey, no one's perfect. Free street parking all around but you might have to hunt a little bit during busier times. Seating inside and they have both a front and back patio. Speaking of busier times, be prepared to wait a little for your food during dinner hours. Patience is a virtue.

Came up from San Diego and the burger, beer and service did NOT DISAPPOINT. AMAZING! Definitely will come again. Worth the drive!

Fantastic veggie burger! I had a craving for a really good burger and as most veggies know, it can be really hard to find. I was not disappointed in Ty's! Everything from the flavors, the freshness and the service were spot on. I cannot stress to you how nice the employees were. Ty's will be my go to veggie burger spot from now on!

Love this place! As a vegetarian, I always struggle to find a good burger place. They make the best veggie burgers from scratch. Delicious, moist, seasoned well. Topped with sun dried tomatoes, provolone, and I subbed bell peppers for grilled onions. Very good. The sweet potato fries are excellent too. Love the service! The nicest guys working there, especially the guy taking orders. What a gem!

Burgers were outstanding. Best onion rings I've had in awhile. Service is top-notch. The only thing I'd ask for is a different diet soda. Neither of us like Diet Coke. How about Diet Dr. Pepper?

Had a wonderful experience at this local owned eatery! Ty greeted us at the counter & was cheerful & helpful. My wife ordered the bacon bleu cheese burger & I had a build your own (beef, grilled onions, guacamole, bacon with house dressing). Fries on side. Both were delicious. I was PLEASANTLY surprised when my guacamole turned out to be avocado slices! The meat in the handled so the burgers were not too tight. Cooked to perfection & so flavorful! I'm only sorry we didn't order onion rings instead of fries. Fries were pedestrian. Tried an onion ring from a generous couple next to us . . . Get them. Outdoor sitting on the street & a small comfortable patio outback. Limited seating inside. We arrived &!there was just two couples seated & a family ordering. Before we left inside & outside was full. Soda machine has proper mixes of syrup & soda & they have several nice beers available as well! Short walk to the theaters & the pier!

This place was exactly what we were looking for! Located in downtown Oceanside, CA with a great selection of beers and outdoor seating. This burger joint is tasty. All ingredients were really fresh and they have so many options. Check out their wild game section of the menu. I decided to go with the Buffalo Burger and do the Trio Basket (French Fries, Sweet Potato Fries and Beer Battered Onion Rings.) And wash it down with a dirty blond beer. Cheers!

Food was great and we managed to get in after the dinner rush. Lamb burger really juicy! Sister had the Fresh Mixed Berry salad and raved about it. When in the area we will be back. I'd love to try another wild game burger! Yum!

One of the best burgers in Oceanside. I like their back patio they maintain in a tropical theme supported by thriving succulents. If you're into bison burgers, this is one of the few places around here that make them without drying them out.

Let me just start by saying I NEVER finish my food. The Jalapeño burger was everything I needed in life and more. Chipotle sauce, jalapeños, avocado SO GOOD what else could I ask for? I'm sad to say I live in Los Angeles because I know I won't be able to have this little baby anytime soon. Service was also amazing! Was checked on 3+ times which I didn't expect at all. Thank you for an enjoyable dinner. Be back when I can.

Update! We come here often. Love the variety of burger options. There's even a fenced in back patio that is perfect for kids.

Ty's is located right on Mission, easy to find. I stopped in last night. There were a few people in line but plenty of people seated inside, out front, and nobody was out back so we could seat all 11 in our party. The person taking the order was super friendly, patient, and helpful. Plenty of options on the menu for burgers and even a turkey burger, some salads, different fry options, onion rings, etc. No desserts though. I went with the mac and cheese burger and sweet potato fries. Yum it tasted great. My only complaint would be the burger was a little overdone and they don't ask you how you want it. I like medium not medium well or well done. 7 of our 11 orders came out after 20-25 minutes, but they lost 1 ticket with 4 orders, and after another 30-35 minutes (about an hour total) the last 4 orders came out. I asked if they were going to do anything for the late order and they ended up giving us a substantial refund. That was a very nice gesture. I would definitely try Tys again and try some of the other options on the menu.

Recently went with a group of friends and my husband. I got the class burger, and he got the venison burger. Both were delicious! What I really wanted to highlight was the service. The staff was incredibly attentive. They always made sure we had plenty of napkins, and when I noticed that the ketchup was running low, they promptly came by to replace it without me even asking. It goes to show how much they care about their customers experience. Highly recommend stopping by for a bite!!

Awful. Should have known when there was only one couple in the entire place. Food was terrible. The burger patty had no flavor and was over cooked. We were not asked how we wanted the burger cooked. Strange. The bun was dense and stale. Overpriced for a crappy, basic cheese burger. The chicken sandwich was not good at all. Chicken had a super weird texture and an off-putting flavor, and so, so dry. It was like chalk. It definitely wasn't fresh. The cheese was cheapo. The kind that doesn't really melt and is transparent with hard corners. The bun was the same as the burger, dense and dry. Literally, the worst grilled chicken sandwich I have ever had. The onion rings were extremely greasy, like the oil wasn't hot enough. The fries were undercooked, chewy, and way too salty. The amount of salt was ridiculous. I ate one. One french fry. How bad do fries have to be to eat only one? Dude who took our order picked up the phone while taking our order and started arguing with the caller not related to food. We thought he was talking to us. It was super uncomfortable. No class. The ambiance is weak. Crappy, tore up menu taped to a table upon entry. TVs were turned off. It's super sparse with no decorations. Just a few 3-4 standard beach pictures on the wall. It has a no-vibe vibe. We had a few bites and left. Worst food we've had in a while. It's overpriced and overly salty, yet has no real flavor. I got a headache from the little amount I ate. After hearing the dude's tone and attitude with the caller while we were ordering we decided to just leave. $38 down the tubes. We didn't even order any drinks. $38 for for the one basic burger, one chicken sandwich, and a side of fries and rings. The quality of the food came nowhere close to the price. We will not return. Do not recommend.

I do not understand how this company can operate without takeout orders. Their phone rings and rings and rings. Nobody picks it up my friend and I like this place we try to order two weeks ago 40 hamburgers for a pool party but they missed out because the phone just rang and rang and rang frustrating hopefully they'll get on the bandwagon after this review .

The food is excellent, the service is fine, you order at the register and they bring it out to you. The outside patio has an awesome ambiance and the inside is clean and neat. The main negative is that it is pricey and not fully worth the price, but I do like the place and will enjoy on special occasions.

Isssaaa damn good burger!! And the fries were good ANd They had the best ranch I've ever eaten. Would come back just for the ranch tbh hahaha. But the burger was solid, I got the classic and it tasted like a burger you get at a backyard bbq!! We will definitely be coming back!!

I'm sorry I hate to leave bad one star reviews, but I also don't lié about good food or service. The place was pleasant, but very disappointed in the service, and food. Food was cold, and when I asked to get it te done they didn't like it, like it's my fault.

The food was not worth $40 for two burgers. They also won't refund you if you are not satisfied with their service. Go to In-N-Out and save your money. The owner was extremely rude and condescending when we requested our refund. And told us "get used to it, everything is expensive. I'm not giving you a refund" On top of that, the burgers were extremely underwhelming, there was a hair in my food and the fries were legitimately soggy. I was wondering why there wasn't any business on a busy day in downtown Oceanside, now I know. This place has very poor leadership. Sad to see it taking up space....
