Congress Investigating Meat Plants for Mishandling of COVID-19 Safety | Eater

"Named in a congressional probe into the industry’s pandemic response, the company’s meatpacking operations have been linked to major COVID-19 outbreaks that contributed to industry-wide totals of tens of thousands of worker infections and hundreds of deaths. Lawmakers allege the company failed to implement basic worker protections, left many employees—often low-paid and lacking adequate paid leave—vulnerable to infection, and thus helped spread the virus into surrounding communities. The inquiry seeks documents and explanations for how the company handled outbreaks and whether it prioritized production over worker safety." - Jenny G. Zhang

For facility location, right close to Love TS. Check in, staged, wait for call about an hour to dock, At dock for 3 to 5 hours before they start loading. Green light pickup papers. Unnecessary wasting time on dock for loading, they could done better right away, even not so many trucks there to be loaded.

Fast, friendly, and professional. In and out with no delays. Huge lot, easy docking. Great lounge with bathrooms and vending. Lost a star due to no overnight parking for non-Tyson drivers.

There’s a Loves a mile down the road. This place is also called “Macon Mixing Center” You best hurry up and wait when it comes to the guard shack, you will be waiting around 15-30 mins just to move along. For drop n hooks they will give you a lot number to pick up or drop off trailer. Shipping/Receiving is next to Door #1 I had an appointment time for 23:59 the shipping/receiver office told me they had in their system 0800 the next day. Idk who goofed up my dispatcher or them. When I came back the next day same process at the guard shack, TAKING FOREVER!!!! My drop n hook was ready to go.

I have been coming here once a month for the last two years as its my last stop before I take hometime. Its usually a coin toss on how fast they are. Weekdays are overall better as it seems they work with a skeleton crew on the weekends. Today is Saturday when I'm posting this, my appointment is at 10 am, it is now 11 and there are about 7 to 8 trucks waiting to be seen. Half the doors are trailerless, but the employee parking lot also has like 3 cars in it. I'm not sure why they schedule appointments on weekends if they are not apt to take them in a timely manner, but then again Tyson is never rational. Overall experience is its USUALLY mid. Not great, but not terrible either. Bonus points is that since this is a DC it doesn't smell like the chicken plants do. There is a restroom and break room for drivers, but no overnight parking unless you are a Tyson driver. Loading/unloading times vary but are typically 3 hours from arrival to exit, all in. If your broker booked it for the weekend, cancel it.

Hauled in a Bosco/Sara Lee load owned by Tyson Foods. So they let me come early. So no overnight parking unless while you are unloading.

32 years of trucking, and this is the longest I've ever been in a dock to get loaded. 11 hours. Absolutely ridiculous. These folks should be ashamed of themselves.
