Best 24-Hour Restaurants in Austin | Eater Austin

"Fancy a taco at 4 a.m.? Tyson’s has ‘em. Taquero Tyson Blankemeyer serves stellar brisket nachos, breakfast tacos (go for the avocado abogado with egg, rib eye, avocado, and skillet potatoes), and a host of lunch and dinner tacos, including the classic proteins: barbacoa, diablo shrimp, beef and chicken fajita. There are also some new-guard items worth a try, including burnt ends, a puffy chicken tinga, and the Tasty Bastard (a surf and turf option). Enjoy them outside or inside, and if you just wanna grab some to do, it offers online ordering." - Nadia Chaudhury

This spot is great because we came at 3 AM. For it being open so late you cannot complain and the food was good. The taco selection that they have is very vast and it makes you want to come back and try more than a while. Will you make friends with those people, right

Google
It's frustrating, and frankly, EMBARRASSING that in a state like Texas, known for its deep ties to Mexican and Tex-Mex culinary traditions, that THIS is the taco spot that garners such popularity in Austin. Tyson's Tacos has become a go-to name, yet what it consistently delivers is lukewarm, dry and uninspired food that would never survive in California, where taco culture thrives in authenticity, flavor, and pride. We are Texas! Tacos should be our thing! But somehow, California is running laps around us, with high-quality, street-style tacos on nearly every corner. The fact that an establishment like this is considered a staple here feels like a slap in the face to our cultural potential. Ain't nobody gonna say nuthin!?!?!!! What's worse is that this isn't just a one-off bad experience. The meat is consistently dry. The food is CONSISTENTLY served lukewarm...borderline room temperature...and that alone should raise food safety questions. But beyond temperature, where is the care? The seasoning? The soul? I had some duck tacos so dry that I almost choked swallowing them. What is going on? It's clear the management has chosen this low standard. That's what stings the most. You have the opportunity to represent Austin proudly with something exceptional, but instead, you double down on mediocrity and convenience, pushing out subpar food to customers who deserve better. The long lines don't validate the quality. But they do enable the mediocrity to continue. Y'all...Even BASIC Tex-Mex joints outshine Tyson's in flavor, authenticity, and execution. This place could be so much more...but it clearly doesn't want to be. That's the real shame.

Google
I ordered 4 tacos al pastor and a topochico, I only had 3 small pieces of tomato and nothing else, I went back to talk to the cashier: I asked him for more pico de gallo because I paid $26 dollars for this and he tells me: “this place is not for Latinos only for gringos.” The stupid is that his kitchen was just Latinos like him, where are the gringos? Probably Latinos without permits to work!! Bad service, bad attention, bad food and very expensive!

Man… what happened to Tyson’s Tacos? This place used to be a go-to... full of flavor, heart, and hustle. But lately? It feels like the soul’s gone missing. The barbacoa was stiff and bland, the chicken barely warm, and the brisket? Dry, lifeless, and sadly forgettable. Everything tasted like it had been sitting out, just waiting for someone to care. We came in right at noon lunch hour, and the place was completely empty. That used to be unthinkable. It’s tough to watch a once-great local staple lose its edge. I hope they can turn it around, but for now, it feels like Tyson’s has given up.

Google
Tyson’s Tacos is hands down one of the best taco spots in Austin. The vibe is chill, local, and creative — exactly what you’d expect from a place that never closes and never disappoints. The tacos are fire. Whether you’re going classic with bacon and egg or getting adventurous with their off-menu creations, the flavor hits every time. The tortillas are fresh, the ingredients are top-tier, and they’ll even let you trade a good song for a taco. If you’re in Austin and haven’t been to Tyson’s, you’re missing out.

Google
Lackluster, dirty, and lacking flavor Rice was mushy and unflavored, beans had 0 salt. Please dont be afraid of seasonings Tacos were dry - the brisket tastes like its been put through a dehydrator. The al pastor had center pineapple and it literally tasted like cartilage. Again, lacking seasoning (chirizo oil doesnt count) The only taco that was moist (absolutely soaked) was the scooby which was literally swimming in grease. Soaked the rest of the tacos in straight chorizo grease. Both the avocado in my tacos and the guac had avocado that tasted like it had gone bad. (Tasted rotten and warm) The only good thing was the jamaica - but they give no refills for the $4 drink

Google
Amazing service! These are the best tacos I have had in Austin. Perfect late night meal. Great place to wrap up a date night. The menu is the perfect mix of authentic Mexican and modern twists. Great salsa ! The super nice guy at the register had the perfect suggestions when my tortillas were a little soggy he made it right immediately by making me a fresh one himself! We will definitely be back here many times.

Google
honestly, I am blown away. I eat vegetarian and most taco places don't have much for me, especially if it's more authentic. that's fine, authentic food often has meat, but this place has incredible breakfast tacos and i was very pleased to get them!

Yelp
Always good, never bad. This is one of my favourite restaurants. It's like a time capsule, always there. Nothing more comforting than Tyson's Tacos. P.S These photos don't do these tacos justice!!

Yelp
The duck tacos is really good. The rest were decent. It's not a fancy establishment, it has Austin food truck vibe without being a food truck :)

Yelp
its sad what has happened to this once great place. - portions are now smaller - prices keep gettin higher -- constantly out of mutliple different tacos (especially burnt ends). not sure why they havent figured out to just make more? terrible business to not be able to serve people what they want. - occassionally closed at random times - wont answer phone
google avatar

Jacquelyn C.

Yelp
This place is a little more expensive than I remember but the tacos still hit at 3 AM! I love getting the 3 taco plate--my favorite one being the Tasty Basterd.
google avatar

Nick C.

Yelp
Stopped in here late at night for some delicious tacos. I was pleasantly surprised by how big they were because I was expecting smaller street taco sizes. The $15 3-taco meal seems like the best way to get a variety of tacos and some sides for cheaper than the 3 tacos individually. I got the Diablo shrimp, brisket and pork belly tacos. I was really hoping to get the scooby with the chorizo but they were out. The tacos were all ok. The Diablo shrimp was probably my favorite of the three. Late at night on a Saturday doesn't leave you with many options so the tacos hit the spot but it was quite a long wait for the food and seating was a little difficult to find with it being so busy.
google avatar

Desiree D.

Yelp
Stopped here late night for a quick bite. You order at the window and then your number is called once food is ready. Tables outside to sit on. They have an extensive menu and good tacos. My crispy tacos were good.
google avatar

Sunshine G.

Yelp
I heard good things, but what I got was God awful. You want hair in your food by all means visit this horrible place. Rude waitstaff and alluding they should be tipped well. The whole vibe was well creepy and tacky. How they pulled that off is beyond me‍
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
Generally tasty but sometimes you just get horrible cuts of brisket stuffed into your taco.
google avatar

Keshav N.

Yelp
This place is much better than Torchys. They are also open 24/7 (except holidays). The people that come here are usually coming either from college or from a night out. I would recommend ordering before you get here and make sure to try out the king George! Also their green salsa is def one of my favs.
google avatar

Destiny L.

Yelp
Although my phone did not eat first, I was able to stop by Tyson's to grab dinner after a night out. They are open 24/7 which is amazing because you can never go wrong with tacos! They have a huge menu where you can see all of their offerings while you're waiting in line, because you will be waiting, and they have both breakfast/lunch and dinner tacos. Along with nachos, chips and queso, guacamole and salsa offerings! They have covered, outdoor seating with both bench and high-top options. Very open space covered in funny stickers and posters which I enjoyed looking at while I waited. I went with the three-taco plate, double rice, no beans. I got the Diablo Shrimp (sauteed adobo, napa, jalapeno jack, cilantro, creamy tomatillo), Brisket Taco (Sliced brisket, avocado, pickled onion, cilantro), and Señor Ranger (fajita, potatoes, bacon, queso fresco, bell pepper and lime). They also came with a green and red salsa on the side. The green was delicious and went well with the flavors of my tacos!! The red was pretty plain to me. Let's start with the rice, not a fan at all. Not sure if I caught it on a bad day or what but took two bites and decide I was done with it. The brisket taco was delicious! Perfectly cooked brisket and the avocado and onion added a nice balance as well as a little crunch to the taco! The diablo shrimp was JUICY and had a nice spice to it- had me blowing my nose! My friend ate the Señor Ranger, and he loved it- said it's one of his typical go-to's when he visits Tysons!

Yelp
Some of the best tacos, nachos, salsa, queso, etc in Austin. Fantastic variety and extremely consistent.
google avatar

Katie W.

Yelp
YUM! First time having Tyson's. I had the Chicken Fajita taco, Brisket Taco, and birria taco. They were all incredible. Can't wait to try more! Everyone was super friendly. They had a cute little outdoor seating area but we took ours to-go!
google avatar

Yelp
Felt is was too overhyped. Ordered doordash looking at the pouring reviews on various platforms and disappointed. :( We got the 2 orders of 3 taco plates which came with 3 taco's, rice and refried beans. The taco's are too dense and so much variety of ingredients that we felt did not blend together. Not to our liking. We had 6 different taco's none were standing out. the burnt bits were too burnt ( pun not intended), the the overhyped queso was just ok. the dirty horchetta was also just ok. Also felt it was pricy.

Yelp
Tyson's Tacos is an absolute gem in the Austin. The diverse selection of tacos is a delightful journey for your taste buds. The barbacoa taco, a timeless classic, stood out with its rich flavors and perfectly seasoned meat. A definite highlight of my visit was the avocado abogado taco. The combination of creamy avocado and flavorful ingredients made it a true standout. And let's talk about their dirty horchata--it's a game-changer. The infusion of espresso into the horchata base creates a unique and satisfying beverage. What I appreciate most is that it's not overly sweet; instead, it strikes a perfect balance, allowing the coffee and horchata flavors to shine. Tyson's Tacos has mastered the art of crafting delicious and memorable tacos. Whether you're a taco aficionado or just looking for a delightful culinary experience, this spot is a must-visit. The welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff add to the overall positive dining experience. I can't wait to go back and explore more of their enticing menu!

Alyson F.

Yelp
I decided to try this place out for dinner, so we order it via doordash! This place was amazing I got the 3 Plate: 2 Birria Tacos & 1 Brisket Taco. They come with beans and fries, and I also added Guac & chips (more than enough for 2-3 people). The birria was great and full of flavor and the brisket was soft wished it was a bit more seasoned. Overall, recommend for a taco night can't wait to come back!

Peter P.

Yelp
The brisket and egg taco is my number one favorite thing to eat. Period. Also, the staff of this taco spot are very accommodating and friendly. Just don't you dare light up a cigarette on the patio! Go back by the dumpsters.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Got the BAC's, some queso, chips, everything was nice. Off a big highway, mostly outside seating, very good food
google avatar

Minh D.

Yelp
Visited Tysons with some friends for dinner. This place definitely has that quirky Austin vibe with the discoball and light in the dark ceiling drawings. They have a pretty large tacos menu including breakfast tacos. I just got the crispy duck taco and it was alright, duck was indeed crispy but overly dry and not flavorful. I like their salsa though it was good. Service was standard nothing exceptional. A plus is they open 24/7 so you can get your tacos fix anytime of day but this is not my favorite in ATX
google avatar

Jenny L.

Yelp
Food is solid and it's available 24/7. HELLO CAN YOU ASK FOR MORE SINCE 24 diner is no longer 24 hours ?!?!! Tortillas are tasty and the migas taco I thought was hands down one of the best I personally ever had. Sorry Veracruz .
google avatar

Samantha L.

Yelp
The menu looks amazing but the actual food was not. I just expected more from a taco place in Austin. The tortillas were weird, the chips were like Tostitos and the filling was ok but bland. The salsa was amazing but I asked for green and got red. I honestly just can't get over the tortillas. They were just weird, chewy. I felt like I was in Norway and it's what the people there thought Mexican food would be like. It was odd. But hey, it was 4am and it did the trick. And it would have been two stars if it wasn't for the amazing service. The folks were on point at that time, and I work overnights so I know the struggle. They were top notch.
google avatar

Jane R.

Yelp
Tyson's continues to be one of my favorite breakfast taco spots in Austin. The tacos are so delicious and service is quick! It is an outdoor patio only space so something to consider with weather. I have never tried their non-breakfast tacos, so I cannot speak to those, but if you have never tried this place for their breakfast tacos, it is a must. I have tried nearly every breakfast taco on the menu and have never been disappointed.

Daniel B.

Yelp
I think it changed ownership and it sucks now. The crispy pork belly taco used to be one of my all time favorite tacos from anywhere. They changed the recipe massively on it and it's meh now. I was so disappointed when I opened my DoorDash order. Also, the rice and beans used to be good and now it tastes like they are microwaving canned stuff. What happened Tyson's? You were the best in Austin.
google avatar

Carolyn B.

Yelp
The only reason I go here is because they're open very late, and then usually just cuz it's what others in my group want. The tacos are, I feel, mediocre at best, the fancy flavor combos miss the mark, and their prices are quite expensive. And, they get packed and slow late at night, so even then my vote is always for something else. ‍!

Yelp
Three stars seems a fitting ranking for Tyson's Tacos. Being in Austin for work and wanting to try a new taco place on my way to the office I remembered I had bookmarked Tyson's after seeing it on Triple D. While I don't regret trying someplace new I can't say that it'll be a place I see myself returning to anytime soon. Located on Airport Blvd, Tyson's Tacos is easy to get to and parking was a breeze. Making my way over to the order window I thought I knew what I was going to get but as I arrived my mind went blank...after the employees let me struggle to bring the menu up on my phone and I placed my order...I only THEN noticed the sign above me saying "Menu Behind You" so please save yourself from my struggle (as to why the employee didn't tell me there was a menu behind me I can not explain). Once I paid and found my place, after a brief wait my order was ready. Speaking of my order, I went with a Princess Leia, The Rage, and a King George (no bacon). Of the three tacos, Princess Leia was my favorite and I feel I would have enjoyed Rage/King George more but the Creamy Sri Racha was just too overpowering. Also, as MANY other reviews have covered: their flour tortillas are not good...like not at all. I feel the tortillas were the nail in the coffin in my decision to not be rushing to revisit Tyson's in the future. I will say the overall experience was pleasant, I was able to get in and out in a decent amount of time, I left full (even if I didn't love the food), and it didn't break the bank. I love that the business is local and very Austin, if ya know what I mean, as well as open 24/7. These factors may be what makes Tyson's Tacos so popular but if they want my repeat business they need to do something about those flour tortillas.
google avatar

Valerie H.

Yelp
The tacos were good, don't get me wrong! I just wish they offered a little bit more on them to fill them up. I got a Barbacoa taco (not pictured) and the flavor and tenderness of the meat was spot on, but unfortunately it didn't come with any cilantro or lime :( It's not a deal breaker but it's always nice to add a little extra pizzazz. Otherwise, the place was super chillax, food was ready in like 5 minutes and my horchata was fire. Will definitely be coming back to try their breakfast tacos!

Yelp
Tysons Tacos isn't just a taco joint; it's a delightful taco haven that I simply can't resist. This place has become my go-to spot for all occasions - whether it's showing off Austin's taco scene to friends, craving a midnight snack after a long day , or seeking a serene solo taco session. From the moment you step in, the ambiance wraps you in its warmth. Those stained glass windows, walls adorned with sticks, and hidden artistic treasures scattered across the patio - it's like a treasure hunt for creativity. Every sticker tells a story, and the spilled ink on the walls feels like a shared canvas of memories etched into the wood. And oh, the tacos! The señor ranger is my personal hero, and the horchata? Pure bliss in a cup. Pair it all with some indulgent queso, and you've got yourself a feast fit for a taco enthusiast like me. The service here deserves a standing ovation. The hardworking staff, day and night, make every visit feel like a warm welcome. It's heartening to see familiar faces hustling to make sure everyone leaves with a smile, 24 hourssss. Also, grab the salsa verde if you know what's good for you. Parking is a breeze, and there's something magical about the late weekend nights here, especially when the Austin weather plays along. The vibe is unbeatable - it's like a slice of perfect taco-filled paradise in the heart of the city. So, take a deep breath, soak in the art, savor the flavors, and embrace the Austin vibe at Tysons Tacos. It's not just a taco place; it's an experience waiting to be savored.

Yelp
Tyson Tacos! Went here for lunch time. They have a wide variety of tacos! From Tex Mex - to street taco classics - to seafood blends - to breakfast classics : Tyson has it all! I would say the lunch / dinner tacos are just okay. The breakfast tacos were very good . All around , I probably wouldn't go back for tacos outside of the breakfast tacos! Cheers!

Yelp
Still a fun taco place but definitely lost a star to the staff this time around. The cashier must have been having a rough start this morning due to their mannerisms and they also forgot to give us our receipt. Not a big deal until be realized after taking our food to go that they had given us the wrong taco. Who knows if that was a mistake on the recording end or the kitchen's end. Overall this was a disappointing visit. After being blown away when we were in town last year we were super excited to come back and order our two favourite tacos and try a few more. But the brisket fell flat and the B is for Bacon wasn't delivered, a sad bean and cheese burrito taking its place. What we got Fried Egg & Brisket - 3* - oh how the mighty have fallen. This received 5* from our first experience at Tysons and we were excited to try it again. The brisket was very dry making us wonder if it was leftover from the day before. Vals Classic Migas - 3* average taco. B is for Bacon .... Sadly we did not get this one. Our order was messed up and we discovered a boring bean and cheese taco in it's place. We would've gone back to have it corrected but we couldn't with our schedule. Avocado Abogado - 4* heavy on the potato but great meat. Bond Girl - 4* the sausage is fantastic in this one

Carlee S.

Yelp
Brisket toco was the most bland, flavorless toco I've ever had. It's like they didn't even use salt , completely bland. I'm dumbfounded as this is Texas, brisket is king as they say. I wouldn't go back here, I'd rather not spend $20 I food that I could easily make way better

Violet F.

Yelp
This is my favorite place to eat in Austin, period. The tacos are amazing (The Rage!!! ) and they have incredible horchata, and the guys at the window are always so nice. And if you've been here, you know how special the decor and vibe is! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Juliana L.

Yelp
I had heard this was a good spot to stop for some tacos near ACC Highland Campus. I got 2 Matador and 1 Miga Tacos. The flavor was there but it would have been nice if the tacos were HOT or even warm. I loved the nice chunk of Avocado and the sauce in the Matador taco but the potatoes tasted like they were leftovers from yesterday, cold and dry. Service was quick and friendly and the had water jugs out to stay hydrated. Tacos were reasonably priced for the portion. I always give a place a second chance before crossing it off my list.
google avatar

Loni M.

Yelp
Went to Tyson's for lunch on a Thursday and it wasn't crowded at all. I was able to get serviced quickly and my food was ready in 5 minutes. The ambiance is very old school Austin and very no frills. It's really all about the food which I like. I got the crispy duck, crispy pork belly and the brisket taco with corn tortillas. All three were really good however I thought the duck was hard to chew and a little dry. The corn tortillas were also really good and not breaking apart like some do. Besides that, I would definitely come back here again if I'm ever craving some Tex-mex tacos.
google avatar

Sonja Sky G.

Yelp
Disgusting. I'm sorry but I have never reviewed anyone like this before. It's Tex Mex at its worst. Lacks depth of flavor. It's not good. As a Cali girl I would skip this place. I wasted $20. The B is for bacon taco was really just a flour torilla breakfast taco. The potatoes were hard. The Al Pastor had a huge bone in it. The beans have no flavor at all. I feel like I was eating a senior citizen meal. The ingredients they use are low tier. The salsa are the best thing on the menu.
google avatar

Landis T.

Yelp
Tyson's is a thing of beauty. Love the ambiance of sitting outside. Service was quick and the food was fresh. Amazing queso, great breakfast tacos, and am still craving the crispy duck taco. We went three times in three days!
google avatar

Priscilla F.

Yelp
While you can get tacos almost anywhere in Austin, there are so many unique options at Tyson's. To order simply walk up to the counter and the number is called when the food is ready. I ordered a 3 taco plate with the Tasty Basterd, Crispy Pork Belly and Crispy Duck. The Crispy Duck was a recommendation from the man at the counter and wound up being my favorite taco of the 3. The first bite was so unexpected and yummy. It is surprisingly sweet with apples tucked under the crispy duck. The dining area is on the porch with a disco ball over head. This spot has a classic Austin vibe to it with the different colored windows and mismatched stickers. Definitely recommend if you are craving tacos and love supporting local.
google avatar

Misha S.

Yelp
Y'all, this place's been around FOREVER. And I've been going here FOREVER. And it's one of the FEW remaining 24 hour ACTUALLY 24 hours/day open places in Austin! (I know staffing issues are everywhere!) I'm going through a bit of an obsession lately - how did I never realize that they lightly fried your exterior corn tortilla before? How did I never realize how GOOD their bacon and potatoes were? How did I never realize how absolutely flawless the chips and queso are? Really recommend the rage 2.0 and the bean and cheese. Fantastic. Love coming here after a late night out, or any time, really.
google avatar

Kyle M.

Yelp
Tons of choices on the menu. I will say that after all the build up to try this place I was a little disappointed as it wasn't what I was expecting it to be. I will definitely try again and will adjust my rating based on that visit.

Yelp
I get Tyson's every now and then, and today was one of those days. It was Taco Tuesday so the cravings were hitting hard. I can safely say that they are not bad. The prices are decent, quality is good, but the food is overall lacking in flavor. I also place a heavy emphasis on technology and ease of ordering, especially for a pickup operation. I think they could do better. The online system is clunky and requires you to create an account, and I never got an email or text confirmation of my order. I also didn't receive a notification that my order was ready. When I did arrive, I was glad my order was ready right away. I got a fajita chicken on corn, and the tortilla was nice, chicken cooked well and bell peppers fresh. But again, just bland. The green salsa helped but the red salsa was bland too. I also got a brisket on corn. Very good quality brisket, paired with avocado and pickled onions it was great. But just missing some flavor. Tyson's is an Austin institution known for their breakfast tacos and it's great to have a 24/7 taco operation in town. I just think they could up the flavor game.

Yelp
Waited over 1 hr for 6 tacos. The staff didn't care or apologize for the wait or anything. Was on the toilet the rest of the night after. Steer clear

Yelp
Great food! Open 24 hours!! Great customer service!!! Outside seating, very nice, no bugs!!!

Yelp
Tacos tacos! Came here with a friend after a sudden change in plans, the name mentioned tacos so the choice was an easy yes. Tyson's tacos is a quaint small shop, but don't let that fool you the menu is pretty big, there's surely one kind of taco to suit your fancy, and apparently it's open 24 hours...so perfect if you have cravings and live near by. Atmosphere: Small patio with a local older business vibe. Not the prettiest or cleanest, but there is a certain charm to it all in terms of being Austin-y and a small food business. Food: The real shiner of this story. With such a massive selection of tacos one is surely to suit your fancy. They have the traditional beef and chicken type of tacos, but expect to see more premium style ingredients like, angus beef brisket, burnt ends, or even crispy duck. I ended up getting the crispy duck, pork belly, and one of the burnt end options. As expected, so good and pretty filling, the tacos are all a decent size. Stand out being the crispy duck, something about having the right sauces and the right crunch of the duck with the right type of tortilla bread. Service: All counter service style, you go up to the window and order and then they'll call your name. Mostly self serve but simple enough. Let's taco bout it, and there's certainly a lot of tacos to boot. A nice small patio location good for a small outing to sate those cravings.

Yelp
Had to double back and come back here a second time the food was so good and filling. The flavors where on point, staff was super helpful in giving us recommendation and did not disappoint. The ambience was nice and because we were outside they were super animal friendly.

Yelp
Sooo...part 2 of the Taco tasting was here at Tysons Tacos. While I've heard a lot about this quaint spot and their play on taco fare...I was honestly not impressed...maybe it was a bad day?...the damn Austin heatwave?...but it was just not good. I can see where it has some alluring combinations ...and most seem to rave about the breakfast tacos...I'm still having a tough time calling anything in a flour tortilla a "taco"...but nonetheless me and my boy went in on the lunch and dinner tacos Tasty Basterd $5.25 a play on surf and turf...I can't say it was memorable...there was a decent amount of shrimp..the fajita meat was a bit over done and the Diablo sauce was lacking in heat rating - 2.5 out of 5 Burnt Ends $4.99 pretty basic brisket, fried onion strings and cilantro. It is available daily until they run out...again not memorable...really small pieces of brisket...didn't truly look like burnt ends ...I did see them pulling real brisket off the smoker...so I can attest to the fact that they smoke their own! Big plus there...the onion strings got lost in the sauce..but overall rating - 2.5 out of 5 Scooby-Doo $4.99 I was so looking forward to this one...its chorizo, burnt ends and pineapple with queso fresco....it was cool...but I couldn't taste the chorizo at all...whatever sauce that was..tasted like it was heavy on oyster sauce..but it masked the chorizo flavor. Overall rating 3 out of 5 Al Pastor $4.99 welp...gotta always have something like this on the menu...good ol reliable...as long as you can treat the meat properly...this was the best of the ones we tried...the only knock I would have is the grilled pineapple with the pico...probably would be better as a grilled pineapple salsa Overall rating 4 out of 5 All in all I'm gonna have to try it again...I believe every restaurant has bad days...and maybe it's all about the breakfast tacos...but we'll see on the next go round

Yelp
Honestly disappointed. The tacos are realistically just acceptable, almost like something I could make in 20 minutes. I tried the barbacoa and the brisket taco. The barbacoa taco was actually pretty good, no lime which is lowkey nuts, but it is what it is. They really did not hit with the brisket taco. Poor quality brisket, the red onions were almost just thrown in there without thinking, just a boring and mid taco all around. The atmosphere of the seating is very nice. A great place to maybe meet someone, or just a nice place to go relax and enjoy fresh air. Not a very good place if you want to eat good tacos. I did see this cool dog driving a car outside though

Yelp
Tysons is a solid three-and-a-half and being open all night makes them an easy four star haunt. Tysons isn't going to win any James Beard awards for the tacos their offering but it's not like they're not tying either. The menu is full of interesting sounding tacos but in my opinion they suffer from the "everything is better with bacon... and potatoes... and fried avocado" fate. That being said, the regular tacos are solid. I love the outdoor patio space. The fans and covering is a very good compromise between inside and eating outdoors. When it's 11pm (or 3am) and you're craving a pile of delicious nachos and a beer (explicit: get the nachos and a beer), Tyson's will come through 10 out of 10. I'd suggest the "simple" tacos as well. The staff are always helpful... Even when they have to deal with a bunch of drunk fools late at night. I wish the salsa verde packed more of a punch but what can you do? Tyson's is part of the fabric of what makes Austin kind of weird. Keep on keeping on, Tysons!

Yelp
I think the only thing i enjoy about this place is that its open 24/7. Been here about 4-5 times & every time i come it's disappointing. Either the food had way too much salt or it doesn't have salt at all. Also, $5 for a taco thats not even on a corn tortilla... i'll still come here at 3am cause its open but if there were other taco places open at this time best believe i'd be at the other place.

Yelp
Tacos were great! Meat has lots of flavor! The option for three lets you try out the menu! The queso and guac were great too!

Yelp
This is a delicious taco stand and I'm pretty sure you can't order wrong. They have a really cute patio, serve breakfast all day and make their own aguas frescas. I went in the late afternoon on a Friday and they were already out of Jamaica so I went with a beer instead - oh darn! (That was sarcasm btw). I ordered three tacos: One was a breakfast taco with eggs, avocado and bacon, a taco al pastor and a barbacoa taco which was incredible. The meat in each dish was very tender and tasted as if it had been slow cooked.

Yelp
Tyson's Tacos is currently #4 on my list of one hundred and forty taco locations. [AustinTacoMojo.com] Favorite Tacos: The Hank [veggy-chorizo, scrambled egg, avocado, queso fresco] and The Rage [egg, black bean, fried avocado, pepper jack, creamy Sriracha]. The salsas are incredible; be sure to try 'em all. (The Hank is no longer on the menu but can usually be made for you upon request.) Arrive hungry and be prepared to fight off the grackles 'cause they're gonna want to eat your tacos just as much as you will. (Outdoor seating only.)
