The U.S. Pizza Museum to Open in Chicago This Fall

"The U.S. Pizza Museum will open its doors this Friday, August 10 in Chicago's South Loop neighborhood, per The Chicago Tribune. Spoiler alert: no pizza will be served on-site (10 points to New York's #MoPi), but the 3,000-square-foot space will reportedly explore the history of pizza-making in the U.S., as well as display paraphernalia like pizza-themed toys, menus, and clothing."

Worth the visit! First of all, it's free - so no excuses. Make a small donation or buy something from the gift shop in lieu of admission. Very cool collection of pizza memorabilia, as well as history. Not everything he has is displayed, just some highlights. It's not a huge place, but it's totally unique and interesting. Greatly enjoyed chatting with the owner of the collection/museum. Only suggestion is to add some sort of collaboration with a pizza place, or multiple so that pizza can either be served *like flights of different styles of pizza or something*, but I know that probably involves a lot of red tape. Perhaps even just a promotion with your proof of visit to the museum. Thanks for sharing your collection with the world!

Very amazing collection of everything pizza. Would be five star worthy if they sold pizza. Felt like I was being teased

It was small (museum just opened a few months back) but well done. It's a private museum that showcases someone's personal collection of pizza memorabilia, specifically focusing on Chicago. When I went, I was the only person there. Lots of interesting and rare pizza objects, and a cool gift shop too (museum is free so this is how they make their money). I recommend checking it out, but don't go expecting a huge museum. Also, they don't sell pizza there, in case you're wondering.

This museum is almost as fun as eating pizza itself. The staff is amazing shout out to Mandy and Taylor!!!! For anyone who loves pizza this place will be your heaven on earth. Also I’m regards to parking, the lot underground is free for 90 minutes with validation which they have there too. All free!

Great experience visiting the museum! It was cool to learn how pizza came to the US and how it took over our pop culture over the years. The owner also had an incredible collection of pizza merchandise.

The greatest physical homage to pizza I have seen short of having a pie. Sadly no pizza served...

Awesome staff! My only issue is that they don't have Italian Fiesta represented at all and we are in Chicago! How can you ignore our past presidents favorite pizza spot in the city?
