The Best Restaurants In Bay Ridge - New York - The Infatuation

"Every Georgian restaurant in New York has its two show pieces: the famous cheese boat, and their big, brothy khinkali. Ubani has great versions of both, but don’t sleep on the rest of the menu. They've got good cocktail game too, and an enclosed backyard, with picnic tables and blue couches. The Georgian salad and its creamy walnut dressing is our favorite dish here, and the cauliflower in walnut sauce and veal stew are tied for second. Choose Ubani over Cheese & Bread when you need some ambience for date night." - neha talreja, willa moore, carina finn koeppicus

Great new spot in Midtown East. This Georgian restaurant just recently opened and I was curious what a typical Georgian foods were like. It helped that they had board of food pictures by the entrance. It gives you glimpse of their local foods. Staff were attentive. Our server was helpful. She gave us idea of what to expect on the menu. Khachapuri is a must. A great to start as appetizer. Very cheesy bread fresh from the oven. Warm dough and gooey cheese. Beef khinkali are like Asian soup dumplings. But Georgian’s have thicker wrapper and very savory meat filling. I almost got a second serving. It comes in 4 pieces and bigger than Asian soup dumplings. Chashushuli is delicious beef stew on bed of mashed potatoes. Kupati Georgian sausages (beef and pork) are 2 pieces thick sausages with very delicious cheesy mashed potato. I’m glad I got this. This is the star of my night! Overall, great foods, experience, and restaurant!

I've never been to Georgia before, but I wanted to try a completely different kind of food than what I have access to in Mexico City. It was the best option I could have. The food is spectacular, the atmosphere captivates you, and the attentiveness of the entire staff invites you to visit Georgia. If you don't know what to order, follow the more traditional recommendations so you can appreciate the special flavor. Measure your portions so you have the opportunity to try some of their more traditional desserts—they're a true delight. And if you're a wine lover and enjoy new options, the Georgian wine has been a true revelation. I will return to this restaurant, but most importantly, I will visit Georgia very soon.

We had an amazing experience at Ubani Midtown. This is our first time trying Georgian food and the server took the time to explain them to us. I recommend doing the Qvevri wine flight, this is their traditional wine fermented underground, it's very different and very good. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was classy and relaxing. We hope to be back!

Time to add Georgian food to my lexicon. It is truly amazing here. I had to plan a large corporate event and the staff went above and beyond to communicate with me and make sure we were well taken care of. Miriam, Nina, and Lizi among many others of this wonderful establishment made our night beyond memorable. Their execution was flawless and the food itself was incredible. Favorites: The Four Spreads and Bread, the pastry filled with cheese, and the Kebab. Everything was great, but I'm still craving more of the pastry filled with cheese even after eating 3 slices of it. I hope to be back in NYC to try it again soon. Madloba.

Three of us went for dinner and ended up eating in the garden patio area in the back. It was very peaceful and quiet. Lots of space between the tables. The waiter was exceptionally helpful in our food selection. All the dishes were very tasty and we experienced some new flavors. When we walked thru the restaurant on our way out, we were surprised that it was full of happy sounding customers. Moderate noise level and a couple of singers up front playing at a moderate noise level. Next time we plan to sit inside.

What a gem! Had no clue about Georgian food or wine. Now I do. White table cloth elegant atmosphere, yet not stuffy. Their wine comes from Georgia, aged in clay vats. Excellent. I strongly recommend Ubani. Pro tip: get the amber wine.

As a Georgian myself, I can confidently say this is one of the best Georgian restaurants in New York. The food is authentic, flavorful, and truly reminds me of home. From the dishes to the atmosphere, everything felt genuine and well-prepared. The staff was also very nice and welcoming, which made the experience even better. PS: No extra photos because I ate everything before I remembered to take them — that should tell you how good it was!

Great atmosphere! The servers were wonderful—humble and polite. We did not like the starter that comes with four spreads (it’s in the picture, but I can’t remember the name). Cocktails were great—we tried the Mango and Lychee ones. The salad was delicious too; it had a unique flavor and was really tasty.
