Uca - Review - Downtown LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"The rooftop bar at The Delphi Hotel now looks like something you’d find at a Tulum resort, i.e. woven lampshades and lots of palm fronds. The cocktail list features beachy-sounding drinks, like the Street Mango with tequila, mango, and coconut cream, or the Palm Reader with avocado oil-washed tequila and green chartreuse. The food menu reads familiar with tacos, ceviche, and aguachile, but the horchata tres leches cake caught our eye. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists. I remember this spot when it used to be the club for “The Standard” hotel. Same beautiful view and excellent ambiance. We started with the with the queso fundido which was delicious. I was expecting tortilla chips but it came with small flour tortillas. You can request fried tortillas too. A great starter followed by their street corn which was delicious also. For my entree we got the branzino and the pork loin. Both were very delicious and presented excellently. I was expecting the branzino to be a full fish presentation but this was easier to eat without worrying about bones. For dessert we got both the horchata tres leches and choco flan. The horchata was my favorite and excellent, I wish it came with ice cream. The choco flan was good but felt more like a jello dessert than a flan to me but the flavors were there. I’d definitely come back here again to try their other menu items. Definitely a great date spot with an excellent view of DTLA. Parking is paid at the Delphi hotel which I believe might validate if you valet but double check. I paid for self parking.

ÜCA truly lives up to its description it feels like a chic escape above downtown LA, with the vibe of a Tulum rooftop but the energy of the city. The view is stunning at night with the skyline all around, making it the perfect backdrop for drinks and dinner. The food was great, flavorful, beautifully presented, and made with fresh ingredients. The seafood and Latin-inspired dishes really shine, and the portions are satisfying without being heavy. Drinks were just as impressive, especially the craft cocktails built around agave spirit, creative, balanced, and served with flair. The atmosphere ties it all together: stylish yet relaxed, with music, cozy seating, and a rooftop vibe that makes you want to linger. The staff were friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. If you’re in DTLA and want great food, incredible drinks, and an unbeatable rooftop vibe, this is the spot.

Came to @ last night for a birthday dinner. It’s on the rooftop of the @delphi hotel. Vibes and ambiance are a 5/5 Food was a 3/5 Service 5/5 It’s giving Tulum garden lounge vibes with a beautiful bar and incredible views. Guacamole - pretty good Chips - not crispy and seemed stale. Our waitress brought a “fresh batch” but was exactly the same. Very chewy. Queso fundido - delish! Especially with the flour tortillas Aguachile - pretty good but needs spice Black beans - good Cilantro lime rice - good Street corn - yummy Carnitas tacos - decent Steak tacos - decent Goberbado tacos - yummy Birthday churros - yummy Adult beverages - most are premixes which my party did not like. Bathroom is up a few stairs to the pool area which is cute as well! Hoping they work out the kinks and this place does better with the food and drinks and maybe add some live jazz. That would set it off. @travel_lifestyle_chow

Use to be called "standard" Which was a cool spot. But they really remodeled this roof top well. Parking is easy. Located in the back of the building. Elevator to the restaurant is located on the second floor up the stairs when you enter. There's a hostess at the elevator. Makes it feel more like a NYC/Manhattan lounge/restaurant. Price is actually pretty amazing. As in not very expensive. Food portions are very fair. With some being medium to some sides being A LOT which is great. I tried a few things. Steak tacos Beans Guacamole Let's start with the tacos. More of an American style taco but with great flavor. Meat is marinated well. It's not overly salted or peppered. Portion is good with 3. Display was great. Beans. Pretty average but tastes good. Guacamole. Nothing overly complicated. THANK GOD. It's so annoying when places complicate the simplest things. And they did not do that with the guacamole. Would I recommend this place? Most definitely. The atmosphere is more young. Upper class. The food is good. Not AMAZING but definitely worth a return. Pool area is fantastic. Staff was awesome. If you like a good roof top pool with food? Highly recommend. Enjoy! Food: above average Staff: no issues Cleanliness: very well Decor: new and remodeled Bathrooms: very clean

I really liked the cocktails, guacamole, ceviche, and the chips that come with them. We spent about $140 including tip. The only dish we didn’t enjoy was the yellowtail salad—it felt very basic for the price, so I wouldn’t order it again. The waitress was super nice and the ambiance was amazing. Just be patient with the elevator since it’s quite old, but everything else was great!

Google
I was excited to try this new place because I love a rooftop and I had heard good things about it. They did not disappoint. The views are very cool, being in the heart of DTLA. I accidentally made a reservation for a week after we wanted to go. But the host and all of our servers were able to graciously handle our party of 6 and get us seated quickly. The drinks were compelling and the food was tasty. The presentation for the Char Ritual cocktail was especially charming and my bf was very happy with the chicken pibil dish.

So dope. Views were amazing. Luna our server was great. We went on Thursday when they have live jazz. the band and the lead singer Kandice had the crowd rocking! Definitely will return.

We had the best dinner ever tonight! We had 9:00pm reservations and we arrived earlier but were seated right away. The outdoor aesthetics gives Tulum vibes with a beautiful skyscraper backdrop. Every detail from the decor to the plants to the table setting was on point. Our server Sophia was wonderful and attentive. She recommended some amazing dishes and drinks that’s didn’t disappoint! Drinks we got the Palm Reader, Daydream in Tulum, and Hibiscus Negroni (picture). We ordered the Queso Fundido (picture) to start which was incredible! Then we shared the Torta burger and the tacos gobernador (shrimp tacos with melted cheese!). Each dish was better than the next. Flavor profile and textures were to die for. We finished the with horchata tres leches which was of course a winner. The entire staff was so respectful and wonderful the entire evening. Can’t wait to come back!!

Yelp
The view was gorgeous among the city night lights. It had the perfect ambiance and vibe for a ladies night or a first date. Drinks and food were on another level. It was our first time there and our server really took the time out to discuss the drink menu and to help with our food selection. Definitely recommend. Looking forward to coming back on jazz night.

Yelp
EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT!!! I would 100% come back here. The view was perfect. The food was amazing and don't even get me started on our service. Our server Luna was wonderful she greeted us with a wonderful smile and gave us the best experience.

Yelp
Just wanted to start off by saying the food and service is amazing . Our waitress was Luna who was so helpful and amazing throughout our time dinning. She had a positive attitude that improved our overall experience. The food was a 10/10. I had ordered the Torta burger.

Yelp
This used to be the Standard rooftop! We all have memories (some hazier than others) here, so a few girlfriends and I were looking forward to checking it out after work to see the changes. We were all impressed by how cleaned-up this place is. The large cushions/daybeds are gone, and the space is now a pretty, upscale rooftop restaurant with a completely different vibe. Views are amazing as always, and a live jazz band started setting up at around the time we left (8 on a Thursday). I was disappointed that they didn't have a happy hour. My office does a lot of group happy hours, and it would have been fun to explore a new spot. We shared the mushroom queso fundido, guacamole, Caesar salad, and then ordered our own dishes... I went with the steak tacos. The mushroom queso fundido was probably my fave! Everything else was fine but seemed pretty overpriced. Although the tacos were loaded with juicy steak, I don't think I'd be excited to order them again for what I paid for basic steak tacos. My friend really liked the mango cocktail and stuck with those. I tried a Conejo Dorado (tequila, curry and tunmeric, carrot juice) which was interesting but I couldn't taste much tequila, so I switched a wine. It's a great alternative to sweet drinks though; a quality savory drink is hard to find! I don't know if I'd come back after work when there are so many happy hours in the area, and I hope they implement one someday! I'd definitely go back for a cocktail and live music. I'm really happy they reopened and reinvented such an iconic space.

Yelp
Food 3/5 - The food had great presentation but it was just ok. My friend and I both had the shrimp (grilled shrimp) tacos which were cool but I wasn't wow'd or like I gotta come back for the food. I had a French 75 drink it was good. She had the dish that was like fries. Once again just ok and then we shared the tres leches cake which was actually really good but would've been better without the graham cracker cereal type topping lol. Service 5/5 - Marco aka Mark was that guy, periodt. He made recommendations. Stopped me from making a horrible menu decision and was very attentive. Great personality too. My type of service. Ambiance 5/5 - the view is gorgeousssss. It's a good date night or girls night situation. The sitting was comfortable and the decor was gorgeous. Let's just say ya girl was in her element!!

Yelp
Hubby and I came here after work on a Tuesday, since it's walking distance from our buildings. We love a rooftop vibe, and this one had a Tulum feel. The ambiance and drinks were great, but the food unfortunately lacked flavor. We ordered the guacamole and steak tacos. The guacamole was ok, but the tacos weren't that great. I would still come back for the views, drinks, and vibe.

Yelp
Glad I was able to try this spot. Definitely gives Tulum, vibes with the vibrancy of DTLA as your backdrop. Service was great, unlike many other rooftops, we don't feel rushed out of there. Our waitress Andrea was great. She seemed to know the menu and was breaking down some of the more popular drinks and some of her own favorites. We ordered the chipotle Cesar salad (added shrimp): 8/10; the guacamole, 10/10; ceviche 7.6/10; Uca fries 8/10; tacos gobernador 7/10; torta burger 10/10. For drinks, we had 3 glasses of the street mango drink, fair to say it was a 10/10. Not too sweet, or too strong. Overall, really enjoyed our experience and will be coming back for the vibes! Also, parking was pretty accessible, and it was just an elevator ride up to the restaurant.

Yelp
The newly remodeled rooftop bar is modern with amazing views! Food is tasty and comes out freshly made, complimenting the drink options. Both fish and carnitas tacos were flavorful and filling. A slight crunch on the tortilla, making for a great vehicle for the mix of ingredients. All their drinks were great especially the Palmer! Our server was excellent, continuously checking in on us. Great place to catch up in downtown

Yelp
Always looking for new places to try, and came across a new rooftop, open air restaurant in DTLA named Uca Terraza. And it is hard for me to pass up a rooftop spot. So I made a reservation, ran some errands then headed over to see what the vibe was all about. There is a parking lot right outside, though it is $20 for a day pass, so probably park somewhere else nearby for a better price. Or you can probably valet at the Delphi hotel, as Uca is on the rooftop of the hotel. Once you get out of the elevator, take a few steps and you're greeted by the host. We were able to get seated right away with our reservation, yet there were still plenty of people already on the patio on a Tuesday night. The vibe is like a garden in Playa del Carmen or Tulum. Just very chill, table and couch seating with views of downtown all around you. We started out with cocktails: Daydream in Tulum and a mango forward cocktail. The Daydream was very nice, great flavor with the spiced rum adding a nuance to the drink. The mango cocktail was also complex yet subtle, refreshing... with that hint of spice. For food, we tried a couple items, based on our servers' recommendations. We started with the ceviche which had ample amount of fish and shrimp, yet was not overpowered by the citrus, which I feel is common. Here, the different flavors were allowed to shine. The queso fundido with pork longaniza and oaxaca cheese was also very nice. We also ordered the three steak tacos and pollo pibil. The move was, shredding the pollo, placing it in the tortillas that came with the chicken, and putting some of the queso fundido on top. Just a flavor explosion in your mouth. The chicken, itself, felt a little dry inside, but covered with the queso was perfect. The tacos, also, were decent, but can't say they really stood out. Overall, good experience. Service was fine, drinks were great, and that queso on top of the chicken in a taco was magic. Just a heads up, they do charge a mandatory 20% gratuity on your bill, plus a 5% "administrative fee", which you can have taken off, and I suggest you do. Definitely a nice vibe, good for a date night or just spending time with friends.

Yelp
Services was pleasant and the heat lamps were perfect for the rooftop. Would come again, especially with their cute Christmas decoration.

It's not a huge menu so the vegetarian in our party ordered several appetizers to make his meal.

Yelp
The atmosphere/ view is really nice at both daytime and night. The seating area the offer is both lounge style, bar seating, and table seating. All of the employees were super nice and helpful on making recommendations. The food was good the only dish we thought could've been better was the tacos gobernador as it was lacking cheese and shrimp pieces. The drinks were good they aren't your ordinary cocktails as these both had unique ingredients. I would definitely recommend this restraunt for a date night or a birthday dinner or just to grab a quick bite and drinks at the bar. Also just a heads up free parking is hard to find so you kind of have no choice to either Uber and get dropped off or pay $25 for parking.

Yelp
This rooftop is located on top of the Delphi Hotel and they have their own entrance when you enter into the hotel. You go up an escalator and an employee behind a hostess desk greets you and shows you where the elevator is. We had reservations and rode up the elevator. We called to let them know we were going to be late due to traffic and they were still accommodating! Once the elevator doors open, you are greeted by another hostess who sat us down quickly. We were seated in a two people table and were immediately greeted by our waitress. She was kind and attentive! She asked us what kind of water we would like for the table, house, sparkling or still. We went with the house water. We also ordered drinks, the hibiscus Negroni and a mocktail called moon water. They were both tasty! We also ordered salsa for the table for appetizer and we enjoyed the salsa verde the best. The chips they bring along with the salsa are big! For dinner, we ordered steak tacos and shrimp tacos! We preferred the steak tacos just because the slaw on the shrimp tacos was a bit much but they were both delicious! The view was nice and the weather was perfect! They have heaters so they are prepared for when it gets chilly out. Also gratuity is added no matter the size of your party. We had an awesome date night here!

Yelp
This gorgeous rooftop is definitely the place to be, especially on Thursday nights for the Creative Jazz Fusion. The staff is so welcoming and you can see they enjoy working here. The energy is infectious. The cocktails and food are delicious and I probably had the best ceviche in all of LA. Looking forward to going again soon!

Yelp
Incredible service. Amazing team of managers and services who accommodate needs for our lager group. Food is great, ambiance rocks, everything was fabulous. Thank you.

Yelp
It's giving "Temu's attempt at a trendy rooftop spot." The décor looks cheap, but the prices are anything but -- $25 tacos that taste okay at best, with a stale tortilla to top it off. At least the service was solid.

Yelp
Good food, great service, amazing views, and easy to find 10/10 would recommend for an intimate date or a friends gathering for drinks

Yelp
The food 100/10 Service 100/10 Ambiance 100/10 We ordered their shrimp tacos, steak tacos, street corn, torta burger, cilantro rice and their guac and chips and I cannot express enough how amazing and fresh everything tasted. Our server, SOPHIA... very great service. We also ordered a bottle of champagne and a couple cocktails and it all came out to such a reasonable amount at the end. I highly recommend.

Yelp
Good food, amazing views, great service. Our waitress was lovely, definitely will come back!

Yelp
First time being here since the Standard and it was bad. Food, drinks and prices. $270 for two drinks ($14 for a can of beer), and two meals for my husband and I. My ceviche had no flavor, no lime and his pork loin was the same. I'm happy paying that price if it's worth it but sadly it's not.

Daniel S.

Yelp
The views at this place is the best thing about it. it used to be the spot when it was The Standard. i went on a tuesday night. spent $150 on two beers, one mixed drink, a caesar salad with steak and steak tacos. it includes a 20% tip. the food was not great at at all. 3 tacos for $27. the price would be okay for the location if the food tasted great. it's a chill spot to get drinks but not eat. 1 star for the views. 1 more star for the service.

Nabi N.

Yelp
It got served to me like a plate of cow balls, and they must got me all messed up cus i'm not no petite ass girl, load me my damn food rationing with these outrageous prices.

Celeste A.

Yelp
My server Anna was so beautiful and incredible and funny!! So attentive, made my evening, will be coming back :-) and the churros were delicious

Kimberly H.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped by this rooftop bar tonight for a quick bite and drinks. We had a nice time with decent food and really good service from Jolene. If you are in town check it out.

Brahyan P.

Yelp
Wanted to try out a new spot, something different, and it definitely did not disappoint, drinks were awesome, bartenders Jaqui and felipe were awesome, ordered some agua chiles and esquite, it was awesome and tasted great, servers such as Luna was also very attentive and very descriptive of the menu and letting you know what your preferences, overall great place ambience and rooftop to come around if you are in the area !

Yelp
I had a fantastic dinner at Uca! The staff was so lovely and the environment was easy and fun. Food was excellent! Our server was Rachel - what a beautiful lovely woman. Very warm smile, helpful AND funny. 10/10 will come back this time with more friends
