"The chef’s top recommendation is the ‘hiyakake’: nothing but udon noodles in a golden-yellow broth. The dashi is Kansai-style, made with makombu seaweed for umami and finely chopped round herring and mackerel for flavour. Noodles are prepared with techniques learned in Kagawa. The cool broth brings out the supple body and elasticity of the noodles, showing how the goodness of each supports the other. The donburi bowl here brings together the udon cultures of Osaka and Kagawa." - Michelin Inspector

Food: got the beef (Wagyu) Udon (1500 yen). The beef was so soft and held so much flavor. The broth was well balanced and flavorful. The udon was chewy and well cooked. Overall a very satisfying meal. CASH ONLY. Service: the line up is a little confusing. You have to wait outside but there's no sign (in English or Japanese) that says to do so. Atmosphere: laid back, Izakaya vibes.

We ordered a lunch set and the beef udon and both were excellent. You can see them hand pulling the noodles right in front of you and the quality transfers to the bowl moments later. We didn't have to wait at all, and the service was friendly and quick. It's a great value as well. We both ate for 2300yen.

incredible udon. 1200 yen for a SPREAD. the udon was hand pulled and in a super well balanced broth - not too salty. i got the cold udon with fish tempura. the rise on the side was topped with a special spice that provided a burst of flavour. staff were super nice and it’s def a locals spot. must go.

I came here simply because I was craving for some udon and it’s relatively close to where I stay. There must be some influencer promoting this place because it’s a very long queue with many foreigners (50-50 between foreigners and Japanese). Almost 20 people in front of me when I arrived slightly after 12 noon on a non-holiday during golden week (may 2). I was only able to enter past 12:40 The udon is super chewy! I ordered the lunch set with an egg tempura added as I thought the set looks small in quantity. Turns out I’m overly stuffed at the end of it. It’s carbo heavy which may be why. Again, udon is super chewy!

Great place to eat a nice serve of traditional bowl of udon noodles. They catered for our group of 6 and was pleasantly greated with a friendly smile and the helpful waiter guided us through their menu. We ordered a sets of udon and dad had beef udon. Brooth was pleasant to the palette and the udon noodles was cooked to perfection. Thank you.

The best udon noodles I’ve ever had… chewy al dente noodles with a light umami broth. I got the lunch set with egg, rice snd tempura and it was insane. Worth the wait!
