"Sri Lanka's East Coast is a gem. There are endless empty beaches, estuarine lakes full of wildlife, the best snorkelling and diving in the country, and a long history of Tamil culture, centred on capital and port city Trincomalee. Just to the north, on a long sand bar between the ocean and lagoon, lies Jungle Beach, a resort which, as its name suggests, is immersed in vegetation on the shores of a long strand of golden sand. Designed to melt into its surroundings, the hotel has an understated look. The main building housing the restaurant and bar is shrouded in a thatched roof and has a massive tree growing through its deck. There's a lovely small spa secreted in the undergrowth, a green freeform swimming pool overhung with jungle, and shady, sandy pathways winding to the sea. We had a wonderfully relaxing stay in the well-appointed, ample cabins dotted about the grounds, each with a private balcony or deck, and most with outdoor rain showers. Feeling refreshed, we popped out to discover all that this coast has to offer, from snorkelling with sharks to exploring traditional villages, plus day trips to Trincomalee, and birdwatching on the lagoons. Then we lingered over lunch, drank cocktails overlooking the ocean, and dined on sumptuous seafood under the stars. I had a great escape at Uga Jungle Beach at Kuchchaveli, Trincomalee. I was truly immersed in the serene beauty of the surroundings. The calm beachfront, lush greenery, and a sense of stillness were ideally tallied with my vacation expectations. ||The hotel room was designed to maintain the guest comfortability and privacy, having excellent facilities and a standout bathroom featuring an open-air shower. The patio brought extra charm, allowing me to stay connected with nature while enjoying modern comforts.||The food was truly delicious offering a fusion of local and international flavors with my favorites. All the staff are genuine, warm, attentive and caring. So, I received a greatest hospitality throughout the stay.||I must specially thank to Ms. Mithila Ranasinghe, whose care and attention to detail made my entire stay truly seamless. The staff was very helpful. The hotel itself is integrated into the environment around the hotel, so it makes you feel like you’re in a cabin in the woods. The rooms were properly equipped with essentials.|The food was delicious and well made. They are also accommodating to your diet. Madawa was very nice and patient to our party, a special thank you to him for helping us.|There is a beach attached to this hotel with lounge chairs as well as a 4ft deep pool.|I would 100% recommend people stay here for at least one night to experience this atmosphere.

Amazing Stay at Uga Jungle Beach – A Truly Memorable Experience! We had an incredible time at Uga Jungle Beach. The property is surrounded by lush greenery and has such a calm, peaceful vibe—perfect for relaxing and unwinding. We booked our excursions to Pigeon Island and dolphin watching directly through the hotel, and everything was organized seamlessly. Snorkeling at Pigeon Island was our very first time, and it was absolutely amazing! The hotel provided all the gear and clear guidance. Swimming in 30-foot-deep water and seeing turtles, reef sharks, and colorful fish in their natural habitat was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. A special shoutout to our snorkeling instructor—he literally dragged me around the whole time because I can't swim, not even in two feet of water! Thanks to him, I didn’t miss a moment of the underwater magic. Dolphin watching was another highlight. We were lucky to spot not just dolphins but also a whale shark—truly unforgettable! While the food was average, the rooms were comfortable and the hospitality stood out. The resort staff were incredibly warm, helpful, and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend Uga Jungle Beach for nature lovers and adventure seekers.

The staff are exceptionally well-trained, significantly enhancing our motherland's value for foreigners. They provide excellent guidance, even instructing visitors on appropriate attire for temples. I'm proud to say they are consistently unique and highly skilled. I observed a strong sense of family and community among the staff; they genuinely help and respect one another. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was calm and quiet. This is a must-visit place for anyone who appreciates a beautiful environment

We came to Uga Jungle beach for the last part of our honeymoon for some relaxation time and a chance to explore the Indian Ocean. It did not disappoint and was the perfect end to our trip. |The service here was great and the staff are very attentive. Big thank you to the chefs for delicious food, and to house keeping for our spotless room! |Special thank you to Dilshan for the best iced lattes, Ashan and Ravi for service with a smile, and Sanoos who made our stay so special. We will be recommending this place to our friends and family :)

This was just the stay we needed in a hectic tour of Sri Lanka. 5 nights of heavenly relaxation with the most attentive staff. Beautiful setting. We had beach cabins which were huge and well furnished. Saw a large amount of wildlife around the complex and the pool and beach were quiet and perfect.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at Uga Jungle Beach. The staff were amazing, welcoming, and genuinely caring. Mr Prabodha, in particular, was incredibly helpful and gave us a dedicated service at the restaurant and made sure that we were all satisfied with the food. And also the rest of the staff at the restaurant were amazing and made sure we felt like home. The beach and the pool is absolutely stunning — quiet, peaceful, and never crowded. The accommodation is beautiful too: the rooms gave us a true jungle and beach feeling. Honestly, we could have stayed much longer. Would 100% recommend and would love to come back one day!
