First-time trying this place today! I ordered the Matcha + Ube soft serve--it was tasty but quite mild in flavor. It's a good option for those who prefer their matcha light. Personally, I love a strong, rich matcha taste, so I felt it was just okay--pleasant, but not amazing. I also tried the Tiger Black Sugar drink (50% sweetness, less ice). Honestly, the tea flavor wasn't strong at all. Compared to Sharetea in Hercules, this one doesn't quite measure up in terms of richness and depth. Still, it was drinkable. The Matcha Milkshake was enjoyable with a nice texture, though the matcha again was on the lighter side. You get a faint aroma, but for the price, it's acceptable. Overall, this place is pretty good--clean space, decent pricing, and friendly service. Just know that if you're looking for a bold, authentic matcha experience, you might be better off visiting a dedicated matcha shop. This spot leans more toward light, dessert-style treats that satisfy a sweet craving rather than delivering intense tea flavors. The shop is quite small with limited seating, but that didn't bother me. One detail I really liked: if you dine next door at Tasty Pot, you can bring your receipt and get 10% off your purchase at Uji. Nice bonus!

Loved the ube ice cream and ube milkshake—both were delicious. I also tried the black sesame ice cream—flavorful, but ube stole the show. They should consider offering a non-caffeinated fresh milk drink. I was eyeing the Tiger Milk or Tiger Tea with boba, but was told all milk tea drinks have caffeine.

Definitely recommend trying the ube flavor! Matcha is pretty good too. The staff were very kind and understanding. They even let my younger brother switch his order from black sesame to matcha after realizing the flavor was a bit too strong for him (it’s definitely an acquired taste, haha). Overall, great service and a really good experience!

My first visit to an Uji Time was to the SF Japantown location. I thought it was OK, but I've became a fan after visiting the San Mateo location, and was able to buy pints of Ice Cream there. I was sad they closed the San Mateo location. I'm glad I stumbled upon this one in Concord. I do wish we had a closer location in the South Bay. #Sugar: ~ Black Sesame & Vanilla Cola Swirl - 3/5. This one is tough! Individually both flavors are brilliant, however they don't work well in a Swirl. The Black Sesame dominates and overpowers the Vanilla Cola, as it's a much lighter flavor. The Vanilla Cola has a pleasant light mix of cola and Vanilla, not like Vanilla Coke; that's a Coke flavor I can't stand. I should have ordered the Vanilla Cola by itself ~ Uji Special - Matcha Red Bean - 3/5 Interesting little treat. Waffles on a Skewer with filling, except they most definitely forgot to put the Red Bean inside and my friends ate half of it before I had a chance to tell the staff about it.

You must try their Ube soft serve but personally won’t recommend the taiyaki - does not taste fresh. The crepe was frozen and we were told to wait 10 minutes before eating it. And we preferred the soft serve vs the hard ice cream. Our fave hard ice cream was White Peach.

I've been to a different location of this chain and it's always good! I was definitely excited when they opened one up here! I got 10% off my order after having dinner next door at tasty pot. The jasmine mochi ice cream was really good! My friend got the tayaki with same ice cream and she really enjoyed it. Cute atmosphere, but not many tables. I would definitely come back and recommend to others!

Was on my way to Martinez and my friend sends me a message asking if I've tried a place called Uji Time in Concord. Well needless to say, I went after we were done with what we were doing. I ordered a black sesame taiyaki cone in a cup, my son ordered their seasonal Ume flavor with a cookie stick and pocky. Both of us got the Nutella filling. Both cost $8 each. At first I was a little meh with the price but it was actually quite a lot of ice cream. Not many places can get away with charging Cold Stone prices. I will say, the black sesame started giving me heart burn while I was eating it which was weird. The ume was good but honestly way too sweet for me to want to eat a full serving of it. Towards the end of our ice cream, I also ordered a serving of gyoza. Fried to absolute perfection and served with sauce and little picks to share. I honestly preferred the gyoza to the ice cream. A little sad they don't sell taiyaki on their own. The taiyaki also isn't like a full sized taiyaki. It's about half sized and open so it can be used as a cone. While the filling is free, you don't actually get much because it is open. The place is a bit small but they have multiple tables, including a larger table, as well as a bathroom. But here's the kicker. For 2 ice creams and a serving of gyoza, with tax was just over $30. Yikes. Gyoza 10/10 Black Sesame Ice Cream 6/10 Taiyaki 7/10 Restaurant 8/10

I tried the black sesame soft serve for the first time. My expectations were low. It was so bad that I went and asked the manager if I could switch it to vanilla bc the sesame had a disgusting flavor and aftertaste. They said no and didn't care to ask what the problem was. Also I saw the workers not wearing food handling gloves and touched the taiyaki and egg pancakes with their bare dirty and disgusting hands. Expected of norcal quality. Distasteful and below dirt.

Always a go to spot after eating sushi! Best dessert place, where can u get Taro and Black Sesame, as well as Matcha!! I love their Boba drinks here also! Brown Sugar Boba, Taro Boba, there is always a line here! Located in a Shopping mall area, lots of parking, you can order on the tablet inside or live person. The orders come out fast, and the taste is out of this world! We will be back!

This place is okay- the inside is very clean and cute, the people who worked there were kind. Smells fabulous! It was very disappointed in the sesame ice cream. It had a strange after taste, almost tasted burnt and bitter. The Matcha and ube ice cream were much better, but still not blown away. The fishes were alright, I wish they were warmer. The chocolate puff balls were OK. They were a little too thick and bready for my taste - I like them a bit crisper Overall I don't think I'd come back, but worth giving a try if you're craving some Asian sweets

All the drinks were good and we liked the variety on the menu. I got the tiger black sugar boba and it was really good! Ordered delivery through a third party app.

Uji time has is one of the best dessert spots in the area! They are located in the same plaza as Tasty Pot and 85* Bakery. There is plenty of parking around. The establishment is always clean and the staff is very attentive and friendly. There is a tablet available for ordering, but the staff is also ready to assist you if you prefer to place your order at the counter. I've tried many of their drinks and one thing I can say about this location is that they are always consistent. I have my favorite drinks and they always taste great. When I tried new ones, the drinks were always well-balanced and flavorful. Some of my favorite drinks are the Yusu Passionfruit. This drink is refreshing, well-balanced, and always delicious! I also loved their Ube Shake, Panda Milk Tea, and Mango Sago. They are all great drinks! I've also tried several of their ice cream flavors, and they are always creamy and not overly sweet. You also receive a lot with every order. Every time I walk into this store I can smell the freshly made Taiyaki Cones. They are always making them fresh! Getting ice cream with the Taikaki cone is the perfect dessert. Overall Uji Time is one of the best dessert places in the area!

It's pretty cool that this Uji Time has more than the taiyaki ice cream. There were other snacks on their menu, even spam musubi which my son loves. Our ice cream was also a new seasonal flavor- orange and it was good!

Summary based on two visits: I'll come back for the convenience, they have a variety of selection on the menu. Staff are friendly. Drinks: We tried Tiger Black Sugar, Thai Milk Tea, Ube Milkshake - all satisfyingly sweet but not cloying. Smooth and creamy. You could actually taste the main flavor unlike other places. Soft Serve Ube was good too! Don't forget to try their seasonal flavors; during our visit it was green apple - it was delectable and did not have synthetic taste, very good. Customer Service: Friendly and as expected. Nothing worth noting. Space: Small space. If I'm not mistaken, there is a big table (can sit 6 people comfortably plus two at the ends) in front and smaller tables (4 people) towards the back, maybe around Four. Parking: Plenty and free.

Yummy! Comparable to somisomi. The icecream is so creamy!! Pastry was also amazing and they provide a hearty portion in the cup. Easily could be shared between two people.

don't order boba here. i should've known better than to go to a combo place where they do other foods + boba, but it was right near a store i was at. i got a hokkaido smoothie and my boyfriend got a piña colada smoothie. tell me why the drinks were .... WARM?? like room temperature SMOOTHIES? literally had to go home and throw them in the freezer for two hours to get it cold enough and smoothie consistency. i'm assuming the lady just messed up the ratios and didn't make it right, but what a waste of like $17 or whatever that was. never again.

For some reason, I've found that this Uji Time location is either good or bad. Came here after dinner to get some dessert. I was craving some ice cream. I got the honeydew (special limited time) and black sesame soft serve. They were both great. I wanted it in the fish cone, but for some reason they said they didn't have any left and weren't going to make anymore. It was still fairly early in the night and lots of people were still coming in so I was a bit disappointed.

Had Uji time at first in Berkeley and I don't come often in this area, and it was a nice little surprise without looking for it. Straight up soft serve swirl is what I almost always get. Just depends on my mood if I want the fish. Ube and Matcha the perfect combo.

When we arrived, it was a little unclear whether we were supposed to order at the screen or with a staff member, but the self-ordering screen was easy to use and made it simple to view all the options and customizations. I ordered the ube/matcha soft serve topped with Oreo, along with a fish waffle and Pocky sticks. Overall, I was happy with my choice, though I wish the fish waffle had been as fresh as the egg puff skewers. My friend ordered the black sesame soft serve with Oreo, but we both preferred mine. Although it was fairly busy when we arrived, we were able to order right away and didn't have to wait long for our food. The shop itself was bright and clean, and had plenty of seating, which made for a pleasant experience.

The best Taiyaki soft serve I've ever had. The Ube shake is so creamy and delicious (not too sweet, just right)! Service was fast and nice ambiance with ample seating. Will definitely stop by if we're in the area.

Although they were attentive and served us quickly, I was disappointed with my ice cream. I ordered vanilla and chocolate soft serve with Oreo crumbs and Carmel. It tasted off, like some flavor of coffee. The Oreo didn't really taste like Oreo, and they sprinkled very little. The taiyaki hardly had any Nutella in there, same deal with the red bean one my sister ordered. Sadly not planning to come back again unless they seem to change directions. I see this place having potential. Photos attached were taken about 5 mins in.

Enjoyed the Asian inspired flavors here! They offer soft serve and ice cream in a variety of flavors, as well as teas, mochi ice cream, and some snacks. As someone who loves black sesame, I thought their black sesame flavor was a tad bitter, but I liked their matcha soft serve. I had red bean takoyaki and realized while I was eating it that they use whole red beans. All of the staff were very kind and allowed us to taste the flavors before we ordered. The decor on the walls is cute and there's even a gocha type game in the corner. FYI their bathroom is out of service right now (April 2025).

Decent ice cream spot. I like it here. I got the matcha ice cream it wasn't too sweet, just how I like it. Nice place to stop by for a quick treat.

Always come here for a dessert fix-in. Can't go wrong with soft serve ice cream!! Taiyaki cone is always fresh!!

Do not go to this place. 13$ matcha crepe cake that is severely frozen burnt. Pls defrost before you serve it to people. This is not even edible after 30 minutes of living it outside. Pls do not waste your money

Fantastic Flavors and Friendly Service! Came in on a Saturday evening and found a small line, but it moved quickly. The person who helped us (loved their cool piercings!) was incredibly patient and friendly. We weren't sure what the sesame flavor tasted like, and they kindly offered a sample, which was much appreciated. We ordered taiyakis and an ube milkshake--everything was amazing! The flavors were rich, delicious, and hit the spot. Overall, a great experience with excellent service and tasty treats. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Not a fan of matcha but this place has a lot of selection. Love their menu & not too sweet to taste. They have enough space & quiet ambiance. Service is quck as well

This was my first time here and I like that it's in the shopping center next to all the food places I like. My mom and I ordered the mango sago and my brother ordered the tiger black sugar with boba. I'm assuming my brother liked his drink because he finished it lol. My mom and I are so used to the mango sago at Juneov and actually prefer it there. I appreciate that this place adds ice to it. But the mango chucks are sour and taste like the green mangos. The sago was also overcooked a bit because it didn't have that tapioca consistency. The people were nice and the inside is spacious though!

Delicious! Came here with my fiancé & friends after we had dinner. I had gotten a cup of soft serve, stacking 2 flavors. The bottom soft serve was matcha & on top was Ube. The Ube was good, not too sweet & had that Ube flavor. Felt like good soft serve; no complaints. The matcha soft serve was also good. It was a bit powdery, which I found great, because that told me that they use real matcha! It was also not too sweet & I got that slight bitterness from the matcha. What really got me to give this place 5 stars wasn't even my food specifically, but the fish waffle cone! My fiancé had the cone with her soft serve in it, but she gave me a couple bites and the cone itself was amazing! It tasted like a waffle, but a bit more dense and sweeter. I honestly wish I had gotten a cone myself; looks like I'll be coming back to do so!

After our meal, my Mom was in the mood for a different ice cream experience. A quick Yelp search led us to Uji Time Dessert since it was close by and fun! Coming on a weekend, the place was packed! Lots of families and younger customers dropping in. There are a few small tables and a bigger table for a larger group. The vibes are casual and cute with Asian-inspired decor. Workers are informative, quick to get some items out versus others and try their best to juggle turnover. My Mom, Pop, and cousin all got Soft Serve in a Taiyaki Cone. They loved it--I wish vegan flavors were available as it looked tasty. I got the Taro Milk Tea with Soy Milk and Boba. The taro was chalky and powdery, I could tell it wasn't mixed well. The boba was also hard and not easy to chew. Even with less sugar, it was quite sweet. We also shared a Matcha Egg Puff Skewer with Mochi Topping. I felt like the matcha flavor wasn't present--it was just bright green. There wasn't much mochi inside either which was disappointing. Uji Time Dessert is a popular Bay Area spot with a few locations. They serve Japanese and Asian sweets with a twist--but from my experience can be a hit or miss. Find them in the shopping plaza off Willow Pass Road with ample parking in the lot.

Really enjoyed our stop at Uji Time. The ice cream is very light and almost fluffy with great flavors. The chocolate is kind of a light flavor as is the vanilla. Match was pretty strong but perfect. The cones were done well. Chewy with just a little crunch. I loved how many other options they have. Savory snacks, scoopable ice cream (in unique flavors like lychee, boba milk tea, Thai tea), mochi ice cream (including 4+ vegan flavors), and even boba tea drinks. We will have to come back again to try more items. Staff was also friendly. Highly recommend.

Love their black sesame! Taiyaki can be filled with ice like a cone or on top of the ice cream in a cup. You decide. There are other yummy things like the slushies and egg puff. You might find yourself in a line, but it moves quickly.

We went to Uji Time Dessert today after lunch. It's a cute place. Clean and modern. The staff were super friendly. We ordered the Taiyaki Cone with Blueberry and Black Sesame soft serve. It was creamy, tasty and a bit tart in the best way. The space was clean and nice and there was plenty of seating. Plenty of parking too. I look forward to going back again and trying other flavors.

I'm going to round up to four because it's more of a personal taste thing. Not for me but still a fun time!

The service was so quick, we paid and then they handed it right to us. We love going to this uji time now that its in concord! Love that you can use your tastypot receipt to get $$off. It was a 5/5 with a great combo of everything and with the fish on top it was easy not to spill since im so accident prone. Yum! Get this combo for sure.

Uji dessert time shop is super cute and modern inside with a few tables and 1 long bench to dine in at. It was super busy on a Saturday evening but we got our orders fairly quickly except for the egg puff, which we were told it would take some time. Matcha + ube taiyaki with Oreo crumbles - So delicious and very light! Could taste both of the distinctive flavors but neither were sweet at all. Taiyaki was also perfect texture. Chocolate egg puff - Basically traditional egg puffs but with a unique look to it lol. Cooked to perfection and the texture was perfect as well. Not a fan of their milk teas though because they don't use actual teas, but powders.

Expensive, but pretty good. I got the dirty matcha, which is brown sugar boba and matcha. It was perfect sweetness.

Good food around the area always leads to Uji Time Dessert for our family. We almost always have a hearty Korean Bbq feast and without hesitation, go to Uji Time for some refreshing drinks. I always have their Ube milkshake. It has the usual ube taste but with some sweet yummy vanilla taste infused into it. My son always have their vanilla soft serve and that is a very good vanilla ice cream as well. Some of their fruit drinks, like the watermelon was a very refreshing drink after some heavy meat eating at Ohgane Bbq nearby. My daughter orders their Okinawa brown sugar and she likes it as well. But yeah, my staple which is the Ube milkshake is such a superlative after some good eating around the area.

Love Uji ice cream, drinks and snacks. This is a perfect night cap or snack during the day. Their slush drinks are also delicious and thirst quenching. I can't wait for the watermelon slush to hit in June.

Been here about 6-7 times since 2023 and from today's experience I don't think I'll be coming back. I have tried all of their soft serve flavors usually with a taiyaki cone. Quality has gone down significantly and the distinct Hokkaido milky creamy richness in every bite is no longer there. The taiyaki cone was also extremely stale.

We were completely stuffed from Korean food next door but saw the grand opening sign and wanted to give it a shot. Ordering on the tablet was a breeze. Pro tip: get your taiyaki on top of the ice cream rather than using it as a cone unless you like having sticky hands for the rest of the day lol. Overall, it was good but not amazing. The taiyaki was cold, but perhaps that's by design so as not to melt the soft serve? I loved the red bean filling - hearty, with just a hint of sweetness. The soft serve was just okay (it was a bit icy) and I don't think matcha and ube are the best combination. Overall, a good spot for a cold, sweet treat on a hot Concord day.

I ordered a vanilla icecream, mango sago, and mango matcha. Everything besides the mango matcha was good. The mango matcha was actually the worst matcha I ever had, super sweet, and didn't taste like matcha. The service was good though, pretty quick. And the ambience was nice very family friendly for sure. Would come again but not for matcha. 7/10

Me and my friend were looking for a boba spot after grabbing lunch together and Uji Time Dessert was the closest spot! I ordered the Strawberry Green Tea and thought it tasted great! I loved that they added fresh strawberry chunks inside the green tea, and the tea flavor was just prominent enough, but not too extreme which I really liked. I also got 75% sweetness, which was just right for me. Overall, I really enjoyed this spot, next time, would definitely come in for the ice cream!

Uji Time is the best taiyaki place in the Concord area! In comparison to other taiyaki places in the Bay, it is just alright. My friend and I ordered the Matcha and Black Sesame Soft Serve with the fish in cup. It comes with A LOT of soft serve which is nice. The soft serve was good, but not amazing. My friend and I both felt that the flavors were on the stronger end, but not in a good way. They have a good topping selection though :-) Service and Ambiance: Good amount of tables. Nice place to chill :-) The service was also good. They were friendly and fast! Pricing: $8 for soft serve w/ taiyaki, but it comes with 1 free filling and 2 free toppings. Parking: Good amount of parking in the area, but definitely harder to find parking on weekends. Would probably only come back if I really want taiyaki... Or to try a bev!!

I love UJI! From their boba drinks, slushies, taiyaki, ice cream and so much more, anyone in your group will find something they will enjoy! Service is quick unless they are busy but it's worth the wait! And now you can place your order on tablets. Uji Time is the best time!

Great and fast service since they weren't busy at 2pm. Wish they had some chili powder for the chicken karaage. The ube milkshake wasn't too sweet just the way I like it. The chicken karaage was crispy and hot but the waffle cone was just unnecessary. Saw that they had pints of durian ice cream which is really hard to find elsewhere so got 1 to go. The cashier said that it's usually a seasonal item but their location sells it year round because of its popularity! Good to know

I love Uji Time both this location and in Berkeley!!:) Today they had Dorian ice cream (pic attached). It was not too sweet and delicious!! Conveniently located near 99 ranch market. Also there are Laos, taiwanese, Korean, Chinese restaurants and a bakery nearby. After you dine in at one of those restaurants or after shopping, this is a great place to stop by for some delicious dessert:) Service is usually fast. And people working there are nice:)

Yummmmmm! Yummmm! Yummmm! I was so happy to have found this place after eating dinner at Yard House. The matcha was delicious. Enjoyed every lick of it. Will definitely be going back. The service was great. Before I even finished paying my order was ready. No waiting time or lines. The cashier was very sweet and had a great personality and was able to have a human conversation/interaction. Thank you! Ambiance is cute and simple nothing too fancy. I was in and out I noticed they had a good amount of seating. Will be back soon! :)

Love me some Uji Time soft serve! Of course their ube soft serve is my go to. Lines can get pretty long BUT they also have a couple of self order & pay kiosks which surprisingly most people don't take advantage of. So if there's a long line, go peek ahead to see if the kiosk is open so you don't have to wait so long.

Came in on a Friday evening after dinner. Ordered a few items and was glad to find a table available. Everything was good quality and not too heavy. Everyone behind the counter were nice, and it was great to see a steady stream of people come in. Pricing is good. We spent about $15 per person w/tip. Definitely worth coming in at least once.

Absolutely love this place for soft serve and decided to try their drinks this time. Not my favorite place to get boba around here but drinks weren't bad. Can get super busy on weekends/nights, staff are great and had our drinks out fast!

After a nice AYCE Korean bbq dinner, we needed something sweet. We walked a short bit to Uji Time. The place is pretty popular and it was full of customers. Lots of choices of flavors and toppings. I ordered a simple black sesame swirl in a waffle cone and my friends got matcha and ube swirls. The self order kiosk wasn't very user friendly so we did the old fashioned order at the counter. Our orders came out shortly thereafter. They were pretty creamy and tasty! No wonder they're so busy- we'll be back!

This was a beautiful unique experience for someone that isn't used to this kind of food. It's been very popular for a long time and a lot of different places, especially with young people and I was in introduced to it by my daughter. I am so glad she did. It was unique, tasty fascinating watch smelled heavenly, and the crowds of people waiting to get theirs was impressive, enjoy this end try something new outside of your comfort zone. It looks different but it taste delicious a few years.

This location has an extensive menu. I've never been to this location before and used to frequent their Newark location when they were still open. Unfortunately the matcha soft serve was not good. It hardly had any flavor and was super bitter. We also ordered matcha drinks and they did not have much matcha flavor to them as well. I didn't finish my soft serve and ended up throwing out the rest of it :(
