Ukai - bar restaurant

This place is a favourite in Notting Hill for a good reason. The food and drinks are fantastic (particularly the A4 Wagyu Tataki and the Prawn Tempura, although we had no issues devouring anything else we had). The service was attentive and personable, and the atmosphere was lovely. We love the lighting that they use, which avoids the issues of top down lighting without plunging the whole table into darkness (no phone torches needed)

Celebrated NY Eve here: Arrived for late dinner around 10pm. The atmosphere was fantastic with a live DJ setting the mood, a vibrant yet relaxed vibe, and a wonderfully mixed crowd of happy, positive people. The food was fresh, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. Best of all, there was no entrance fee and no hiked menu prices, which made the night even better. Great food, great music, and great energy—an ideal place to ring in the New Year. Highly recommended! 🎉🍣🍖🍧

I recently discovered this elegant restaurant in the heart of Portobello Market, and it truly lives up to its name – Happiness. The décor is stunning and immediately catches your eye as you walk in. There’s also a lovely bar with an impressive selection of drinks and cocktails. I’ve visited twice – once in the evening and once for Sunday lunch. The menu is simple yet elegant, with delicate dishes that feel authentically prepared. In the evening there was a great DJ, and for Sunday lunch a live band, which added a wonderful atmosphere. The only downside was the service on Sunday. The waitress seemed very stressed, arguing with guests, and even sat me at a table that was already booked. Her attitude unfortunately took away from the otherwise joyful vibe of the place. I noticed her in heated conversations with other guests as well, which felt out of place in such a beautiful setting. Aside from that, this is a fantastic spot and I really hope management addresses the service issue soon – because the food, drinks, and atmosphere are absolutely worth it.

Absolutely great :) , we are foodies and me and my son flew from Sweden to London for the "Tuna Fight Club experience" at another place in Notting hill the day after so I found this place on Fork. I loved the meny but saw very different reviews from 1 to 10 stars, So I just had to try myself as I know peolple leave crazy reviews for different reasons. We were welcomed by our very nice hostess, who took us to the best table by the fire place. A nice atmosphere. We ordered cocktails that were great and maybe 10-15 dishes from the meny, all were very well presented and delicious. Our hostess recommended a good wine, and the dishes came with perfect timing not too fast not too slow. Do not mind the bad reviews , probably people who had a bad day. They add tip to the bill, which is ok for me, used to it from living in Miami, different in every country and restaurant, Highly recommended, . Enjoy it, hard to find better value for money!

Absolutely Outstanding! i had an incredible experience at this restaurant! The cocktails were crafted to perfection beautifully balanced, creative, and full of flavor. You can really tell the bartenders take pride in their craft. The food was just as impressive every dish was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome from start to finish. The ambiance was perfect for a relaxing evening out. I can’t recommend this place enough definitely a must visit for anyone who appreciates great food and top-notch cocktails

Had an incredible experience at Ukai! Great atmosphere & the service - RJ looked after us and was super friendly and attentive, and even gave us the perfect recommendations for both food and drinks. Every dish was fresh and beautifully presented, with generous portions. The highlight for me was deluxe sushi platter which has so many delicious options! Really can’t recommend Ukai enough!

My partner invited me to this amazing restaurant being the third time. Definitely, one of the best places to eat a spectacular and tasty sushi. Besides that, we’ve been served by Aditi who always provides an excellent service. She absolutely made our night by being very friendly, helpful and attentive. My partner and I appreciate her. Can’t wait to be back again!!

Lovely anniversary dinner! Food was delicious especially the short rib and pork belly. Beautiful array of cocktails experienced alongside a great service from the waitress. The Saturday night DJ adds to the charming ambience.
