The more bustling Ukiyo is, the more fun a meal is, so book a weekend date night if you’re after a buzzy dinner in central. "Ukiyo is a temaki bar in Covent Garden that’s one of our favourite places to pop into for a light lunch or dinner when we’re feeling overstimulated by the central London crowds. It’s hidden down Slingsby Place and although the atmosphere can feel a little stiff, once you’re handed a salmon and avocado crisp temaki from the friendly chef and take your first bite, it’ll hardly matter. "When you just want a quiet one-on-one sushi date, Ukiyo is perfect. Pop by the calming Covent Garden sushi spot for a six hand roll set menu and be on your way out in less than an hour—a bonus if it’s a first date and you potentially need a quick exit. We prefer to go for the a la carte though, so we don’t miss out on the excellent toro uni.
